Inevitably, any podcast concerning itself with mostly British films has to get to one considered by many the best Scottish film ever made. No, not Braveheart. Trainspotting is an occasionally joyful, sometimes devastating but often truthful film about heroin culture in Edinburgh in the 1990s, with a banging soundtrack. With a thousand apologies to its under-appreciated screenwriter Mike Hodge (whose name I simply cannot remember), here are our ramblings on the film an astonishing 27 years after its release. But what film to she-watch next month...?
As this pandemic continues to unfold and everyday more and more negative news keeps our social media feeds busy, I’ve paused my regular scheduled podcasting program (It's Always Sunny in the 6ix) to bring an intermission series of short video podcasts- remotely of course. STAY THE F* HOME is the name of the series. I’ll be checking up on people and how they’re staying positive and keeping sane during this lockdown. We’re all in it together and we all have a part to play. On this episode, Mike Hodge, who notably goes by Mike Don't, joins me. Mike is full-time programmer and also one of Toronto's favourite neighbourhood DJs. Mike has been spinning in the nightlife scene as a resident DJ for years in establishments like Mahjong Bar, Oretta, 202, Standard Bar, Soho House and so on. Tune into this great episode as me and Mike talk about the future of nightlife, mindfulness and floatation tanks, and how he's keeping sane during these trying times. Make sure you hit the follow button and let me know how you're staying busy during this lockdown? Follow the podcast on: Instagram: @alwayssunnyinthe6ix
