Most believers know Jesus died for them, but few realize they died with Him. In this episode, we dive deep into the bold truth of Galatians 2:20: “I have been crucified with Christ…” What if the key to real freedom isn't striving to be better, but believing you've already died? If you've ever felt stuck, ashamed, or like you're dragging around an old version of yourself, this message will reset your perspective and restore your confidence. It's time to stop identifying with your struggle and start living from the finished work of the cross.THE BRAVEHEART SUMMIT REGISTRATION IS LIVE! Secure your spot today! In Episode 128 of Badlands Story Hour, Chris Paul and Burning Bright take a deep dive into the iconic film Braveheart, using it as a lens to examine modern narrative warfare, institutional collapse, and the power of individual courage. Drawing parallels between William Wallace's defiance of tyranny and today's decentralized truth-tellers, the hosts explore how stories, both historical and fictional, shape our understanding of freedom, loyalty, and legacy. As legacy media and regime narratives continue to break down, this episode challenges listeners to consider who's writing the story now—and whether we have the bravery to reclaim it.
Most people think finding God is about their effort, but what if it's really about His pursuit of you? In this episode, we explore the life-changing reality that you didn't choose Him, He chose you. From the moment He called you by name, your story stopped being about striving to earn love and became a story of one who is already loved to the fullest measure. This message will shift your perspective and set you free to rest in the One who found you first.THE BRAVEHEART SUMMIT REGISTRATION IS LIVE! Secure your spot today! What is the Braveheart Summit? 30 years after Mel Gibson's Braveheart cloaked Hollywood in fake tartan, Ellen E Jones and Mark Kermode take the high roads and the low roads to look for the real Scotland on screen.Ellen talks with Tayside journalist Kayleigh Donaldson about the trouble with Braveheart, why veteran Scottish director Bill Forsyth's hyper local comedy dramas Local Hero, Gregory's Girl, and That Sinking Feeling have such international appeal, and why movies such as Ben Sharrock's Limbo tell a different kind of story about Scotland.Comedian and writer Frankie Boyle tells Ellen why Gregory's Girl is one of Scotland's most beloved films, why Lynne Ramsay's New York City based thriller You Were Never Really Here starring Joaquin Phoenix as a violent mercenary feels so Scottish, and his reservations about Danny Boyle's Trainspotting.Mark reconnects with legendary Scottish actor and star of Succession Brian Cox who has returned to Scotland to make his directorial debut Glenrothan. They discuss Brigadoon, Braveheart (which starred Brian Cox), cultural neglect, and the Powell & Pressburger classic movie set on the Isle of Mull, I Know Where I'm Going.Producer: Freya Hellier A Prospect Street production for BBC Radio 4

Love to hear from you; “Send us a Text Message”What epic tale have we fallen into, and what role are we meant to play? This question lies at the heart of our exploration of authentic masculinity and spiritual warfare in a chaotic world.Drawing from the wisdom of St. John Paul II, Henry David Thoreau, and even Sam Gamgee from Lord of the Rings, we examine the profound crisis facing today's young people. In a culture where 50% of teen girls report persistent sadness and 30% have considered suicide, something has clearly gone terribly wrong. Yet within this darkness, we're witnessing young men awakening to the realization that they were created for something more. The Claymore sword—the heavy, two-handed weapon made famous in Braveheart—represents our approach to spiritual combat. Unlike the emasculated vision of manhood promoted by our culture, we recognize that authentic masculinity requires courage, strength, and a willingness to fight for what matters. But as St. John Paul II taught, the first battle must be fought on the battlefield of our own hearts—between love and lust, between selfishness and self-giving.Download the Claymore Militus Christi Battle Plan and join us in reclaiming what it means to be a man. How did you respond to that desire?“You will seek me and find me; when you seek me with all your heart, I will be found by you, says the Lord.”—Jeremiah 29:13–14Sam Gamgee asks, “I wonder what sort of tale we've fallen into?”—do you feel like your life is part of a larger story? If so, who is writing it, and what role might you be playing?“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”—Ephesians 2:10In a world full of noise, opinions, and competing truths, where do you go—or where could you begin to go—to seek what is truly good, beautiful, and true? “And you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”—John 8:32The chapter mentions the “line between good and evil running through every human heart.” Where in your own life do you feel that tension most, and what helps you stay grounded in the fight for the good?“Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation; the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”—Matthew 26:41Support the show
Today, we're switching things up. This episode isn't about money. It's about meaning. He's worked side-by-side with legends like Clint Eastwood and Steven Spielberg. But beneath the glamorous résumé is a down-to-earth family man who chose passion over prestige and lifestyle over burnout. In this conversation, Matt Earl shares how he broke into one of the most competitive industries in the world, the mindset that carried him from minimum wage intern to top-tier director, and why collaboration—not ego—is the secret weapon of success. He also opens up about his new film project set in Texas—one that blends family, integrity, and the emotional complexity of immigration. If you've ever wondered whether you can pursue your craft, make a difference, and still live life on your terms—this episode is your inspiration. In this episode, you'll learn: 1.) The secret to getting your foot in the door—even when everyone tells you your dream is impossible.2.) This week on the Granger Smith Podcast, Granger welcomes back his brother Parker Smith—CEO of Yee Yee Apparel and the mastermind behind one of YouTube’s fastest-growing gun channels, YeeYee Life. They dive into the creative madness behind the viral videos (like shooting ATM machines and prison doors), sourcing wild items from Facebook Marketplace, and the deeper message behind faith-driven merchandise. The conversation takes a powerful turn as Granger shares a story of conviction sparked by a simple sandwich shop encounter and reflects on how even our wardrobe can be a witness to the Gospel. He opens up about an upcoming mission trip to Latin America, walking listeners through a fresh sermon he’s preparing on Luke 7—where Jesus forgives a sinful woman, and how it reveals our universal need for grace and forgiveness. Later, the guys get real about movies that make them cry (from Braveheart to Old Yeller), and tackle a thought-provoking listener question about Catholic vs. Protestant doctrine—covering topics like Mary’s sinlessness, transubstantiation, and sola scriptura. Whether you’re deep in theology or just want to hear brothers laugh about Tyler skipping the show for a massage, this episode balances humor, heart, and truth beautifully. ********************************************** CONNECT WITH MY PODCAST: Instagram► https://instagram.com/GrangerSmithPod YouTube► https://www.YouTube.com/@UCD1JSCn257RlatavklMALyg My NEW BOOK HERE▶ www.grangersmith.com APPAREL™️ GEAR ▶ https://YeeYeeApparel.com SUBSCRIBE HERE ▶ http://smarturl.it/gschannelsubscribe Subscribe to my family channel here ▶ http://youtube.com/TheSmithsTV TALK TO ME ON SOCIAL MEDIA: Instagram► https://instagram.com/GrangerSmith Facebook► https://facebook.com/GrangerSmith Twitter► https://twitter.com/GrangerSmith Website► https://GrangerSmith.com See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
In this episode of the Mind Shift Podcast, Aaron and Erwin McManus reflect on a major transition as Mosaic moves out of its long-time Hollywood home. They recount the final worship night where nearly 900 people gathered and 70–80 baptisms took place, marking the end of an era. The conversation touches on the new campuses now emerging in Calabasas, South Pasadena, Culver City, and Studio City. Erwin shares emotional reflections on the legacy of the building and the many lives transformed there, while Aaron underscores how movement and growth have always been part of Mosaic's DNA.The episode also dives into the ongoing exploration of Genesis and the growing interest from new audiences, with a notable 60–80% of listeners being first-time participants. Erwin explains why staying in Genesis offers endless opportunities for reflection and theological curiosity. They emphasize the importance of disagreement and diversity of thought within their community, encouraging listeners to engage, question, and wrestle with scripture. This ethos of open dialogue and mutual respect shapes their approach to both the Bible and the people engaging with it.As the discussion unfolds, Aaron shares a moment where he called out performative criticism in church culture, and Erwin unpacks how terms like “heretic” are often weaponized to enforce conformity. Drawing from history, they discuss how ideas once deemed heretical—like heliocentrism—eventually reshaped how we understand truth. Erwin stresses the necessity of intellectual honesty and the courage to question long-held traditions. The conversation becomes a call to spiritual integrity, where truth is not inherited but discovered through inquiry and faith.Throughout the episode, Erwin shares his own theological journey and how he starts with Jesus—not a system—when interpreting scripture. Using analogies like Oppenheimer's role as a theorist, he explains his focus on deep questions over surface answers. This leads into a thoughtful reflection on the Old Testament, which he compares to stories like *Braveheart* and *Gladiator*, noting how its themes of freedom, honor, and struggle mirror real human experience. He reminds listeners that the Bible was written by the oppressed, not the powerful, and that its messiness is part of its authenticity. Finally, the conversation turns toward the future of theology and the church. Erwin critiques the stagnating effect of the phrase “there's nothing new under the sun,” arguing that it limits innovation and imagination in faith communities. He shares his own experience being blacklisted for advocating creativity and change, and stresses the urgent need for early adopters and innovators to influence theology today. The episode closes with talk of future long-form episodes, community events in different cities, and a shared excitement to keep exploring faith, scripture, and transformation—starting with Jesus and moving outward from there.

Remora, founded in 2020 in Michigan, retrofits diesel locomotives and semi-trucks with onboard systems that capture, liquify, and purify up to 90% of CO₂ emissions – while also cutting soot, particulates, and NOₓ – then stores it for offloading and sale, sharing revenue with operators. Backed by $117 M in venture funding and piloting with major players like Union Pacific, Norfolk Southern, Ryder, Werner, and DHL, the company overcame early design issues (like waterlogging and backpressure) and is now scaling for broader deployment.–Paul is the co-founder and CEO at Remora. In 2021, he was named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list. He earned his bachelor's degree in Statistics and Data Science from Yale University, where his research received the Porter Prize, the highest class-wide thesis prize.–In this podcast, we talked about how they got investors excited to invest $117M, why unit economics are so important, the joy of doing hard things, why expertise is overrated, the reason why reading biographies is so helpful, how he got the idea for this company as a senior at Yale University, why you should watch the movies Tommy Boy and Braveheart, and how the cost of capital influenced his choice of business model.–
BT and Sal ignite a heated debate over the cinematic classic Braveheart, with Sal expressing shock and dismay that Hoff has only seen the Best Picture winner once, and that it "didn't click." While Sal passionately defends its greatness, comparing it to "a different level" like the "Lord of the Rings for action movies," BT remains unimpressed, confessing he's seen more memes than actual movie and dismisses it as just "war stuff" with Mel Gibson "running around in a skirt." Their clash over the film's merit leads to playful jabs and a clear divide in their movie tastes, particularly on epic historical dramas versus other genres
BT and Sal dive headfirst into the chaotic world of New York sports, offering unfiltered takes on the Mets and Yankees' ongoing sagas, from bullpen woes to trade speculation. Beyond the diamond, they dissect the NBA Finals, sharing passionate, sometimes controversial, opinions on the league's biggest moments and players. And when the sports world needs a break, they pivot to lively discussions about classic and new movies, often sparking heated debates over what constitutes a cinematic "must-see" versus a "haven't seen it and don't care to" flick, much to the amusement (or frustration) of their callers. Here's a breakdown of the conversation with timestamps: 0:00:00 - 0:02:15: Discussions about the movie Braveheart and Sal not having seen it. 0:02:15 - 0:05:05: Sal's movie-watching habits, not watching Fight Club, Die Hard, or Heat, but liking Casino. 0:05:05 - 0:06:55: Sal's decline in watching TV/movies, watching news and old wrestling/Sopranos. 0:06:55 - 0:09:00: Jon Hamm show, Tylenol Wars documentary on Netflix. 0:09:00 - 0:11:45: Andrew from Westchester calls in, discussing the Tylenol Wars and Halloween candy incidents from their childhood. 0:11:45 - 0:15:35: Andrew criticizes Sal for not watching the NBA Finals, leading to a debate about job descriptions and watching non-New York sports. 0:15:35 - 0:19:15: Discussion continues on NBA Finals interest, small markets, and declining ratings, with Sal admitting he forgot a game was on. 0:19:15 - 0:21:45: Sal defends his opinion on TJ McConnell crying, and the conversation shifts back to movies with Mark from Huntington calling in. 0:21:45 - 0:23:45: Mark questions Sal for not seeing Gladiator, another "man card" movie. 0:23:45 - 0:25:35: Discussion about Halliburton's Achilles injury and the impact on the Pacers. 0:25:35 - 0:27:00: Dino from Bayside, Queens calls in, talking Yankees and a Cincinnati pitcher. 0:27:00 - 0:29:45: Discussion on Orel Hershiser, pitch counts, and the evolution of pitching/scouting in baseball. 0:29:45 - 0:31:45: Chris from Bayshore calls in, recommending The Clubhouse Red Sox documentary and general sports documentaries. 0:31:45 - 0:34:10: Hard Knocks discussion, its diminishing value due to increased access, and other documentaries (Full Swing, Bin Laden doc). 0:34:10 - 0:35:45: Anthony in East Brunswick calls in, criticizing Sal for not seeing Die Hard. 0:35:45 - 0:37:30: Debate over The Patriot movie and the turning of the tables on Sal regarding his movie knowledge. 0:37:30 - 0:39:15: Discussion shifts back to the Mets' struggles and the need for a big trade. 0:39:15 - 0:41:45: Rick Pitino's tweet trolling the Mets with a Grimace picture, and the absurdity of Mets gimmicks. 0:41:45 - 0:43:20: Anthony from the Bronx calls in, discussing Mets trade targets and opposition to Luis Robert and a deGrom reunion. 0:43:20 - 0:45:00: Discussion on a potential deGrom reunion, his contract, health, and attitude. 0:45:00 - 0:46:25: Caller Joe's funny story about a host not watching a game, and Uncle John's texts ripping the Mets broadcast. 0:46:25 - 0:47:35: Final thoughts on deGrom and the Mets' needs.
BT and Sal kick off with a fiery debate on the Mets' recent struggles, with BT calling for an "all-star at every position" to fix the floundering team after a tough loss to the Phillies, while Sal remains cautiously optimistic about their playoff chances despite current issues like pitching and lineup depth (00:00-11:30). The conversation then pivots to the NBA Finals Game 7, where BT expresses disinterest in the series' storylines despite Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's MVP performance, and both hosts question the outpouring of sympathy for Tyrese Haliburton's Achilles injury, contrasting it with Jayson Tatum's less-lamented playoff exit and reveling in T.J. McConnell's emotional post-game tears (11:30-22:30). Finally, the discussion takes a lighter turn as BT reveals his shocking admission of not having seen Braveheart, leading to a humorous exchange about movie preferences and Sal's refusal to sign a fan's Lindor Mets jersey (22:30-30:50).
The BT & Sal Show delivers a daily, no-holds-barred dive into the tumultuous world of New York sports, dissecting the Mets and Yankees' latest sagas with fiery debates on everything from pitching woes and trade demands to baffling managerial decisions and fan frustrations. Beyond the diamond, BT and Sal bring their strong opinions to the biggest moments in the NBA and beyond, often veering into hilarious, unexpected tangents about pop culture, classic movies (and why Sal still hasn't seen Braveheart!), ensuring a chaotic yet engaging listen for anyone seeking both sharp sports analysis and side-splitting banter.

What if the freedom you're chasing won't come unless you fight for it?This week's Behind Closed Doors dives into Braveheart—not just the movie, but the heart behind it. Jim unpacks how one of history's most iconic films mirrors the reality of men growing up without fathers, and how a good man stepping in can change everything. Through the story of William Wallace, we get a powerful look at courage, sacrifice, and the cost of real freedom—especially for those still carrying the weight of old chains.Wallace's fight for Scotland's freedom parallels the fight every man faces—for his integrity, his family, his soul. Forge, our new mentorship initiative, is how we start pushing back against fatherlessness right here, right now. Whether you're a single mom praying for help or a man ready to lead, this talk makes it clear: the time is now. Choose to fight. Choose freedom.
