We had the privilege of welcoming Evangelist Matt Galvan to speak to the young people at our 2024 Teen Winter Retreat. The retreat focused on encouraging us to embrace God's plan and allow Him to use their lives in whatever way He deems best. Brother Matt, a seasoned evangelist and long-time friend of Southland, shared a powerful message centered on surrendering our lives and all that we have to God's purposes. We trust that this message will inspire and strengthen you as you deepen your relationship with Christ and commit your ways to Him.
We're worse than we think… but God's grace is greater than we ever imagined.

Hey Biblecast Family thank you for tuning in. In this episode I read from the book of Genesis, we see as the human race begins to grow and multiply on the Earth, we see how violence and wickedness begins to grow as well. Let this story show us how what God's intention for His creation was not for wickedness and sin and disobedience to God was but for peace and harmony with God. Sin destroys and it will destroy again if we allow it. If sin is ruling over us let us repent quickly and turn to God through Christ before we run out of time. Thank you for listening, please share and subscribe and let us continue to pray for one another and help spread God's message of mercy and grace and salvation for us all! https://cash.app/$blknerd50

So, a few things to discuss here. Basically, don't do ANYTHING you hear in this episode. So, I guess there's really only one thing to discuss. Never mind. Some warnings: sounds of person drowning. Some painful but non-lethal punching. There are no credits on this episode, so I'mma do them here. You've been listening to: Tim Sherburn as Colin and Emily Bonnie Brantley as Jessie Eric Perry as Howard Oz 9's theme music is composed and performed by John Faley; Lucas Elliott creates our artwork. Sarah Golding is our dialogue editor. With a massive sigh of gratitude and relief, Shannon is handing over the sound editing to Sound Mixer, Designer, and Wizard, Mark Restuccia. If you haven't heard Best in Galaxy, (bestingalaxy.com) do yourself a favor and get that IN YOUR EARS. Oz 9 is written by Shannon Perry. The trailer you hear is from World Gone Wrong. I've listened to the first ep, and yeah, this is a good 'un. Get in there early so you can be smug about it later. How do we address our culture and live in a world where everything is going crazy? Pastor Blake Hanson looks at how to have favor with God in a difficult world.
My relationship with silence is complicated. I know silence is important. I know it's healthy. I know silence is conducive to prayer and meditation, to peace and reflection. I also just really like noise of all kinds. I like the sound of things happening, I like hearing people talking. Even when they're not talking to me: I like to go places where people are talking to each other and just hear different voices and snippets of different conversations. I love all accents - even the ones you think are ugly. Mostly I love music. It is playing most of the time I am awake, and even when at bedtime I often play music very quietly. My entire sophomore year of college my roommate and I fell asleep to the same album every night. It was Bob Dylan's World Gone Wrong. I would not say I'm afraid of silence - at least I don't think I am. I even enjoy it sometimes. But I forget about it. I forget silence is an option. I think I'm about to remember. As you are reading this I am on sabbatical. Don't worry: I'm not working. I wrote this before I left. But the very first thing I'm doing during this sabbatical is going on a 4-day silent retreat. Four whole days without talking to anyone or listening to anyone. No kids around. No spouse. No work. No music. I will be at a monastery and retreat center in Kentucky called The Abbey of Gethsemani. It is run by Cistercian monks who are apparently very serious about their silence. It's going to be very quiet. Maybe I am actually a little afraid.

God’s last warning to the world and the church, in the last chapter of the last book in the Bible. It’s a big one…
The world's first murder. Is anyone else shocked at how soon this happened? I certainly am. How much grief Adam and Eve must have felt. Although the Bible doesn't go into detail, things go downhill after that, and the world becomes so wicked that God regrets having made mankind. This is an account of the events following "In the Beginning" and preceding "Noah and the Ark." We are reading Genesis 4, 5, and 6:1-7. Genesis 6:5-10 & Romans 5:19 You are joining us at the beginning of our brand new Noah series. This podcast series is special because it also goes with our nine week Noah Bible study! Today, we hear that wickedness was everywhere, and God's heart was heavy with sorrow. But amid the shadows, there was a beam of light---Noah. In a world filled with darkness, Noah found favor in God's eyes because of his righteousness and faithful walk with God. Kids will learn: 1. How the Bible defines righteous 2 That God sees everything; He saw Noah's faithfulness and He sees yours too 3.Noah knew right was still right even if no one else was doing it. 4. God always has a plan Pair this episode with the coloring pages, activity sheets, and the Noah Bible Study. You can work through it at your pace throughout the week. Through my own experience, I've learned studying together as a family fosters better discussions, consistency, shared understanding, and different ages bring unique perspectives and ideas to the table. The study also contains beautiful language suitable for adults to appreciate and for children to expand their vocabulary. Access all of that here. Remember you can try it for FREE! Main Idea: One very necessary key element to our faith is the fact that we believe there to be a creator to our world, but at the same time that there is a sense of perfection to life being able to exist, it is also accompanied by so much pain and chaos. Some of our biggest doubts and hesitations in our faith come down to the moments in which terrible things happen without explanation. Today we are going to talk about our world and how it was made perfectly but was made broken. We are going to cover some key creation and world events and unpack different theories and explanations. We are also going to talk about the birth of sin and what the effects were to this world and the life inside it. And at the end, we are going to talk about the perspective of not everything happening for a reason as we cover the power of redemption. This topic is so important because we must learn how to better give an explanation to what we believe in and why. This is one big topic of many that often goes unanswered and causes many people to abandon their faith unnecessarily. The bible, history and science gives ample evidence for us to dive into and can provide some answers to what many people have been wondering. ————————————————— 1. Creation Events [IT TAKES MORE FAITH TO BELIEVE IN NOTHING THAN TO BELIEVE IN A CREATOR] (Genesis 1:1-5) The more that you try to find answers in the world without God, the more questions you end up having. But when you search for these same answers with the perception of a Creator, you end up getting closer and closer to a satisfying truth. Nature, science, history and archeology all point to intelligent design and the Bible offers supplemental explanations to the connection of these things to God as the Creator. — 2. The Birth Of Death [SIN ERODES AND DESTROYS EVERYTHING] (Genesis 2:16-17; Genesis 6:5-12; Romans 3:23-26) Most people struggle with the concept of our world being created through intelligent design because of the fact of so many imperfections. Sayings like, “God doesn't make mistakes” have come across like self-defeating arguments when faced with things like death, disease, disorders, pain, genocide, war and etc. Knowing that the world was made perfect but not impenetrable is key to understanding how our world works and how it is affected by sin. — 3. Redemption Of Chaos [NOT EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON] (James 1:13; John 3:16-17) — To connect, learn more or donate, visit gravetopchurch.com Follow us on Instagram, Facebook or TikTok by searching @gravetopchurch --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/gravetopchurch/support

This episode of Living Myth begins with the sense that “most stories about the future of the world have become fatalistic” and “some great confusion and mass forgetting has fallen like a shadow over the earth.” It then dives into the ancient waters of the soul in search of the source of deep memory and great imagination that was connected to Mnemosyne, once known as the Well of Rejuvenation and the Mother of the Muses.
