In this episode of Love Never Fails, we continue our “Be a Bucket Filler” series by exploring the second fruit of the Spirit—joy. In Matthew 12:20, we see the gentleness of Jesus, who does not break a bruised reed or snuff out a smoldering wick. His tenderness is a powerful reminder that joy isn't loud or forceful but deeply rooted in God's presence and peace. Galatians 5:22 -25 teaches us that joy is a fruit that flourishes when we walk in step with the Spirit, spreading hope and encouragement to those around us.Join us as we discover how to cultivate joy, even in difficult circumstances, and how sharing that joy can lift others' spirits, filling their buckets and ours with the love of Christ.
In this uplifting episode of Love Never Fails, we talk about what it means to be a “bucket filler”—someone who pours encouragement, kindness, and love into others. Rooted in John 15:12–13, we reflect on Jesus' call to love each other as He has loved us—a love that is selfless and sacrificial. Philippians 2:3–4 challenges us to live humbly, putting others' needs above our own. And in Galatians 5:22–25, we are reminded that love is the first and foundational fruit of the Spirit—the starting point of a life that blesses others. When we walk in the Spirit, we carry more than just good intentions—we carry the power to brighten lives, build others up, and reflect Christ's love in everything we do. Tune in as we unpack how to be intentional about filling others' buckets with the fruit of the Spirit, starting with love.

In this episode of Love Never Fails, we explore the profound beauty and challenge of selflessness. Through the lens of Mark 15:30–32, we witness the mockery Jesus endured on the cross—choosing not to save Himself so that He could save us. John 15:12–13 reminds us that the greatest love is shown when someone lays down their life for their friends. And Philippians 2:3–4 calls us to live with humility, valuing others above ourselves. What does it mean to truly put others first in a world that constantly says, “Look out for yourself”? Join us as we unpack these powerful scriptures, reflect on the sacrificial love of Christ, and learn how we can walk in that same spirit of selflessness today.
Scripture: "Love never fails." —1 Corinthians 13:8My beloved child,Let Me remind you of something eternal: My love never fails. It never gives up, never walks away, and never forgets you—not even for a moment.People may disappoint you. Emotions may waver. Life may twist and turn in ways you never expected. But My love remains constant. It has no expiration date, no conditions, no small print. It is stronger than your doubts, deeper than your pain, and higher than anything you could imagine. When you feel weary, when the world feels cold, remember—My love is still holding you. Even when you fall, I do not walk away. I don't love you less on your worst day or more on your best. My love is anchored in who I AM, not what you do.This is the love I've placed within you too. A love that forgives. A love that believes. A love that hopes. A love that endures. The world may call it weak, but I call it power. Real power. Unshakable, unstoppable, unending love.So don't give up—on yourself, on others, or on what I've promised. Keep loving. Even when it's hard. Even when it hurts. Because every act of love reflects Me, and nothing done in love is ever wasted. You are Mine. 1 Corinthians 13:1-8 // If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. 4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails. “Tis Better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.” - Alfred Tennyson “To err is human, to forgive is divine.” - Alexander Pope “God helps those who help themselves.” - Benjamin Franklin Forgiveness is not an emotion, it's a choice. Romans 5:10 // For if, while we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! Nitroglycerin Matthew 18:21-22 // Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?” Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times. Forgiveness is not about keeping score, it's about losing count. Sometimes the worst thing done to you can bring out the best in you. Matthew 6:14-15 // For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. It's unforgivable not to forgive.
SCANDALON Circumstances do not make you what you are … they reveal what you are! It's our reaction that matters. James 1:19 (Amp) – Understand [this], my beloved brethren. Let every man be quick to hear [a ready listener], slow to speak, slow to take offense and to get angry. Slow to speak – if we get this right everything falls into place. Our response to scandalon determines our credibility. So what is a scandalon? It's the Greek word for “offend”, [struikelblok, aanstoot te gee]. It refers to the part of the trap to which the bait is attached The word ‘offend' means: a trap or a snare – stumbling block. Explain a trap with the bait – It's not always visible. We are all more than likely to take the bait many times in our lives. Jesus said in: Luke 17:1 (NKJV) – “It is impossible that no offences should come.” Offence is a tool of the devil to bring people into captivity. If you give him a foothold it becomes a stronghold. Satan is not sitting in an armchair waiting for hell. Revelation 12:12 (NIV) – Therefore rejoice, you heavens and you who dwell in them! But woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has gone down to you! He is filled with fury, because he knows that his time is short.” Paul warned – 2 Timothy 2:24-26 (note verse 26) 2 Timothy 2:24-26 (LB) – 24 God's people must not be quarrelsome; they must be gentle, patient teachers of those who are wrong. 25 Be humble when you are trying to teach those who are mixed up concerning the truth. For if you talk meekly and courteously to them, they are more likely, with God's help, to turn away from their wrong ideas and believe what is true. 26 Then they will come to their senses and escape from Satan's trap of slavery to sin, which he uses to catch them whenever he likes, and then they can begin doing the will of God. Because of hurts, bitterness, unforgiveness, quarrels, opposition, unresolved differences, carrying grudges. People fall into the trap/snare and are then held by the devil as a prisoner to do his will. The devil wants to destroy relationships in marriages, families and churches. If he succeeds, he achieves a great victory – Why? Unity goes Joy and Peace goes Vision goes – Purpose goes The very essence of our calling losses impact. People take the bait of offence so quickly without thinking of the consequences. LET IT GO! The worst part is most times people are unaware of their captivity. The saddest thing is to see a person so deceived. He believes he is right even though he is not. Pride causes you to view yourself as a victim. People think or say, “I was mistreated and misjudged, therefore I am perfectly justified in my Attitude Behaviour. Because you believe you are Innocent you hold back forgiveness. Notice verse 10 says “Many - not a few, not some” Matthew 24:10-13 (LB) – 10 and many of you shall fall back into sin and betray and hate each other. 11 And many false prophets will appear and lead many astray. 12 Sin will be rampant everywhere and will cool the love of many. 13 But those enduring to the end shall be saved. (Those who do it Gods way) I believe one of the great key ingredients that tests relationships is offence. Can I just say this: “We set ourselves up for offence” when we expect or require certain behaviours – from those whom we have relationships. Listen, the more we expect, the greater the “potential” offence. There are times we must give grace to others. Proverbs 18:19 (LB) – It is harder to win back the friendship of an offended brother than to capture a fortified city. His anger shuts you out like iron bars. Don't forget Jesus warned us that offence will come... Luke 17:1 (NKJV) - “It is impossible that no offences should come.” Did you know there are 4 stages of relationships? It's good to remember that: People judge us by our actions, not our intention, (“Example, Diet”) You can't get thin on your intentions “You can't build a reputation on what you are going to do.” -Henry Ford Relationships don't just happen; you and I must make them happen. Don't give offence and don't take it. 4 Stages Courtship / Fellowship Confrontation / Conflict – “Offence Zone” Growth / Maturity Multiplication #1 Courtship/ Fellowship (The Honeymoon stage) Like the engagement stage, we just except one another and love one another we willing to overlook anything we see in the other person. We put our best foot forward. #2 Confrontation/conflict The grass is greener on the other side because there's more manure there! David said: Psalm 55:12-14 (LB) – 12 It was not an enemy who taunted me—then I could have borne it; I could have hidden and escaped. 13 But it was you, a man like myself, my companion and my friend. 14 What fellowship we had, what wonderful discussions as we walked together to the Temple of the Lord on holy days. Confrontation requires boldness not arrogance. Humility and peace seeking. Confrontation is an opportunity for forgiveness. The aim: To heal and restore the Relationship. Think about this: Any relationship within the family of God is going to be as good as you want it to be. Romans 12:14-19 (LB) – 14 If someone mistreats you because you are a Christian, don't curse him; pray that God will bless him. 15 When others are happy, be happy with them. If they are sad, share their sorrow. 16 Work happily together. Don't try to act big. Don't try to get into the good graces of important people, but enjoy the company of ordinary folks. And don't think you know it all! 17 Never pay back evil for evil. Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honest clear through. 18 Don't quarrel with anyone. Be at peace with everyone, just as much as possible. 19 Dear friends, never avenge yourselves. Leave that to God, for he has said that he will repay those who deserve it. Don't take the law into your own hands. You will either grow or go! #3 Growth / Maturity This is when we do it God's way - not our own way Maturely loving one another in spite of our shortcomings. Proverbs 19:11... it is to one's glory to overlook an offence. Romans 15:1-2 (Amp) – We who are strong [in our convictions and of robust faith] ought to bear with the failings and the frailties and the tender scruples of the weak; [we ought to help carry the doubts and qualms of others] and not to please ourselves. 2 Let each one of us make it a practice to please (make happy) his neighbour for his good and for his true welfare, to edify him [to strengthen him and build him up spiritually]. #4 Multiplication Matthew 13:23 (Amp) – As for what was sown on good soil, this is he who hears the Word and grasps and comprehends it; he indeed bears fruit and yields in one case a hundred times as much as was sown, in another sixty times as much, and in another thirty. This is when relationships are now mature enough to move on. You can now encourage and be an example to others. And thereby develop other meaningful relationships. Never before in History as in the 21st Century: Has knowledge increased in the church at the rate it is. But with all this increased knowledge... We seem to experience: More divisions among believers and leaders. More hurts and bitterness and unforgiveness. More couldn't care-less attitudes toward relationships. We know it ALL but we don't live it ALL. 1 Corinthians 8:1 – Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up and encourages one to grow (to his full stature). If we keep the Love of God as our Motivation. In all we do or say, we will not fail. Love Never Fails. 1 Corinthians 13:5,8a (Amp) – 5Love is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride), it is not rude (un)mannerly) and does not act unbecomingly. Love (God's love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way for it is not self-seeking, its not touchy or fretful or resentful, it takes no account of the evil done to it (it pays no attention to a suffered wrong). 8aLove Never Fails 1 Peter 4:8 (Amp) – Above all things have intense and unfailing love for one another, for love covers a multitude of sins (forgives and disregards the offences of others).

In this episode of Love Never Fails, we dive into 1Corinthians 14:1, where Paul encourages us to make love our highest goal. Whatdoes it truly mean to live a life where love takes priority? How can we reflectGod's love in our daily interactions, even in challenging moments?Join us as we explore the power of agape love—a love thatseeks the good of others, builds up the body of Christ, and aligns our heartswith God's will. We'll also discuss practical ways to cultivate love in ourrelationships and everyday encounters.Let's make love our greatest aim, just as God intended! ❤️
Wait a minute! Love never fails? What's Paul talking about? If you've ever experienced a broken heart, or suffered through a divorce, it may be difficult to hear this portion of Scripture. With Valentine's Day coming up next week, just seeing all those roses in the stores may also be a painful reminder of unmet hopes and dreams. However, if that's the case, then you'll want to take another a look at this passage.
The greatest of all things is LOVE.The greatest, says the Apostle Paul, agreed upon by the world's greatest thinkers, artists and poets is:LOVELove is best. The Bible book 1 Corinthians 13 is Paul's finest expression of love by far. Read and read again those marvelous apostolic definitions of love. One of the meanings of this powerful force is spiritual devotion, a reasoning, intentional spiritual devotion such as is inspired by God's love for and in us. To really know what love is, says Paul, can only occur as a result of a meaningful (loving) relationship with God Almighty. The longer, the deeper the relationship, the more the meaning of love becomes clear.Love is good. In fact, good is defined by love. For no mere mortal can do good without love. One may intend to live right, perhaps following the Ten Commandments and other great moral precepts. But mere intention, the act of the will is not enough for it lacks the energy, the conviction, the power of LOVE.There really is no definition of love, no simple one. Words like affection, attachment, emotion, even ultimate feelings are inadequate. So, Paul says let's begin by defining love as PATIENT. Love is longsuffering because love is eternal. We live in a world fundamentally impatient, Type A, a world of pressure and intensity. Life as it is in the 20th Century and the people who live that life cause us to be impatient, frustrated, even angry. But if one loves and lives by the power of love, one says Paul is PATIENT. That is, no matter the circumstances, one is patient because patience is inherent, a spiritual genetic component of one who loves.Love is kind, says the open-hearted Apostle Paul. Love is gentle, easy. It avoids meaningless confrontation and struggle. Love thinks on those things which are good in gentle ways, avoids strife and is slow to anger. Our world is hard, feisty and confrontational, so often without love. But love at work is the antidote to harsh things in life. That easy love soothes. It strokes. It forces its way into the heart and opens it. Love replaces the harsh with hugs. It cares about others first and about the things of God even more. There is no gentle or kind without love.Love, God's love in us, does not insist on its own rights or its own way. Love is not self-seeking. The natural man without love is selfish, self-centered, and egotistical. A loving person is giving, open, and caring. These standards are extremely high, and virtually impossible for any human being to accomplish without, says Paul, the love of God.Love even allows us not to take account of the wrongs or evil done to us by others. Love allows us to forgive and forget. Love allows us to love an enemy rather than to seek vengeance. Love allows us to move past righting wrongs. We can lovingly forgive even as a loving God forgave us.Love rejoices when right and truth prevail. Real love is straight, a kind of tough love structured by what is right and true. Love deals with problems in the present, and deals with them straightforwardly as truth would have it. Love can discipline and correct in truth without hurting. True love never compromises. How wonderful and joyful it is to lovingly live in truth at all times. For to know the truth of love is to be set free and allows us to live a life rejoicing and praising.Love protects and defends. It guards the hearts and minds of the young. It trains up children in the way in which they should go. It shows them the way of the Lord, the path of righteousness. Love protects and defends home and family. Love guards against false prophets and the lie. Love tolerates no evil, only the good.Love is loyal, says Paul. Love is trustworthy and trusting. Love makes character predictable, reliable, steady, and dependable. Love produces bonds unbroken, full trust unto death.Real love, says Paul, always hopes for the best, especially the best in others. No matter the evil or inconsistencies in others, or the uncertainties in life, hope for the good is always love's objective. Love, real love is contagious. In the presence of love, real love, others participate and share and begin to feel that real love themselves. Love at work creates the belief that all things will work together for good for those who love each other, and especially those who love God. That, says Paul, is an absolute truth for:LOVE NEVER FAILSIt endures now and for all eternity. It overcomes the greatest evils in this world which combined, can never destroy love. But the Apostle Paul in his great treatise 1 Corinthians 13 also tells us what love is NOT.Paul tells us that love is not talk no matter how eloquent. Words are not love and may even have difficulty communicating or defining love. No matter how eloquent the tongue, even the language of angels, words are like sounding brass and tinkling symbols, hollow and meaningless. Even, says Paul, if words are those of the angels themselves, they are worthless without love. And Paul says that even the gift of prophecy, knowing the future, discerning the divine will and purpose without love means nothing. Even moving mountains with all power and energy means nothing without love. One can not even give to the poor without love. One can not even be willing to die, offer a body to be burned, or lay down a life for another without love, for all such acts no matter how charitable are meaningless without love.Love is not envious. Love is not jealous of others, what they are or what they have. Love desires the best for everyone. Love rejoices when the best things happen to other people. Love never craves or lusts. It is content no matter the circumstances.Love is not controlling, says Paul. It lets go. It never holds on. Love never demands and always reasons with an open heart. Love is never possessive. Love is always ready to share, give and understand. And love never boasts or brags. Love is not proud or puffed up. Love has no ego. Love cares little for power, fame or possessions. Love is in the doing for by their loving fruits we shall know them. Love wishes to be known and loved by God and not man. Love reminds that it is not about me but about HIM.Love does not behave unseemly. Love allows one to live modestly, humbly and joyfully. Love builds and sustains character. Love has its own rules and standards, instinctive even genetic, which controls and directs behavior instinctively. By their fruits, by their actions, it is easy to know one who loves.Love is not easily angered says Paul. Not that one never gets angry, but that anger is slow to wrath. No tempers, no rages. Life can not be lived on the defense. Love calls for rational and reasonable responses and reactions, for a fiery tongue does nothing but damage. When one is possessed, and consumed by love, that loving person can not be easily provoked. Anger, even righteous anger does very little good.Perhaps so very importantly Paul reminds us that love does not keep any record of wrongs. We, the humans, have such long memories when things go wrong, when we are wronged. We may in some sense forgive, but it is so very difficult to forget. But love, says Paul, keeps no record of these wrongs, love has no balance sheet, no list of spiritual assets and liabilities. Love is owed nothing for all it gives, even for major acts of forgiveness. It requires no payback or retribution for any harm done, no matter the wrong. Love truly forgets and presses on for only the good things in life. Love holds no grudges, none whatsoever. There is no get-even, no aggression, nothing defensive about real love at work. Real love allows anyone to love an enemy, the worst of them no matter the wrongs, so says Paul. Love allows us to do good to those who persecute us, defame us, slander and abuse us. That is real love. Easy it is to throw up one's hands and say impossible, all of it just plain impossible. And perhaps all such things are impossible at the human level only, that is without the love of God at work in any life. We are told that God is love and the more of the love of God in our lives and hearts, the more we can live by love and in love. We now see imperfectly, we now understand love imperfectly, as Paul says, but we will know when we see the source of all love FACE TO FACE. Then we shall know that perfect love which passes all understanding. To stand in the HOLY PRESENCE, the source of all love is to know completely. Love is a process as is learning to love, here and now. But love will be fully completed in the dawn of that eternal day.And finally, Paul reminds us in 1 Corinthians 13 that there are three great things, the very best of all things in this life, namely:FAITHHOPELOVENo matter how important faith is, and it surely is, that is the conviction and belief with respect to man's relationship to God and divine things, love is greater. And no matter how strong the force of hope, the joyful and confident expectation of eternal salvation, as important as that is, love is greater. The greatest of all things is LOVE, that is, true affection for God and man, affection growing out of God's love for and in us.The greatest of all things is love because LOVE NEVER FAILS!
How can we say that love never fails? True love, godly love, is always representing Christ. It is being like Jesus. Love never fails because love always honors God.

Passion WeekMonday: Cursing the Fig Tree, Cleansing the TempleJesus started the day cursing the fig tree which represents Israel and preceded to the Temple Mount. He stepped into the Court of the Gentiles and created a whip and drove out the money changers interrupting the Passover weekly procedures. The scribes and chief priests were so angry, they met to discuss how to destroy him. In this episode, we consider their language and the divine justice that will occur in this place of the Court of the Gentiles, per Josephus in the Siege of Jerusalem in 70AD. 1 Corinthians 13:13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. FB MEYER wrote: "God's nature is not specially characterized by faith, because there is no uncertainty with his perfect knowledge; nor by hope, because there is no future to his eternal existence. But God is love; and to love is to resemble Him." Though returned love is wonderful, often our greatest heartache revolves around those we love the most. Jesus was the perfect example of sacrificial love. When we choose to love even when it's hard, we resemble Him. A lot of my friends resemble Him right now. I will play the song, “Love Never Fails” at the end of this episode. It's a homespun version recorded with my friend Gia on a little microphone that works with my phone. I hope as you listen to 1 Corinthians 13:1-13 read and then sung, you might be encouraged in your strengths and find God's help where you are weak. Pastor JD explains how that God, like with Israel, gently, tenderly and mercifully woos us back to Himself in His unfailing love for us, which can serve as a much-needed reminder to us.

Love Never Fails
Send us a textIn this episode we eat on LOVE. So often times we can come across these words in scripture that we have always known and are so fundamental to the Christian walk that we neglect it altogether. We overlook it. May it never be that we ever lose sight of the importance of LOVE being the center of all that we are and all that we do! Why? That is the example of Jesus!
