A Sunday morning sermon by Pastor Brett Deal. In Matthew's Gospel, Jesus tells us a parable revealing the nature of the heavenly kingdom we see in Revelation. He says: “The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who gave a wedding feast for his son,” (Matthew 22.2).Can you imagine then how shocked Jesus' disciples were as the parable unfolded? The king's servants went out with the good news of the wedding feast but so many of the invited guests didn't care! They declined to come. They paid no attention to the joyous news, prioritizing their own plans. What's worse, some seized the king's servants, treated them shamefully and killed them. Because of their violent refusal, the king sent his army to measure out justice against the violent. Once again, king sent out his servants, “The wedding feast is ready, but those invited were not worthy. Go therefore to the main roads and invite to the wedding feast as many as you find,” (22.8b). His invitation to the table was for everyone! Regardless of their past or their worth. Good and bad, rich and poor, all were invited to celebrate the wedding feast! In Revelation 19, we see the eschatological truth of this revealing parable. All those who chose to build their own kingdoms, who rebel against the Lord, who opt for Babylon over the Son of God are given over to their decision. After one last invitation, the door is closed to them. But to those who will listen, these are the true words of God: “Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb,” (Revelation 19.9).Friend, we've been invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb! Every Sunday, we gather around the Table and, holding the symbols of Jesus' real and mysterious presence among us, we take the break and the cup. Friend, His invitation deserves thanksgiving! The King of Glory has invited us to draw near! His invitation deserves our best. Let's take this time we have, to do justice, love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God (Micah 6.8); to cloth ourselves in righteous deeds (Revelation 19.8) which bring glory to His name. Let's get ready, the wedding feast is closer than we think (Revelation 3.11; 22.7, 20)!

This Christmas season–is there room for Jesus in the home of your heart? Invite Him in. Let His Word make its home in you. If you let Him in, He can make the mess of your life into a message, just like with Mary. He took a young lady who was scandalously pregnant out of wedlock and used her to bring the Savior of the World to us all. God blessed the broken Bethlehem road that led Jesus straight to you–will you make room for Him in the home of your heart this Christmas season? He's knocking–and desires fellowship with you.

Why has the Lord blessed us with so much? Why has God been so generous to us? Why has He met our needs and so much more? The answer is, so that we will use the blessings we have been give to be a blessing to others.Main Points:1. God wants our lives to be a conduit or a channel of blessing to others. If God can get it through you, God will get it to you. 2. One of the fears that keep people from being generous is the thought that they will not have enough for themselves. Yet, if we are generous, God has promised to keep blessing us.3. Where in your life is God calling you to be a blessing? Who has God put on your heart? Where is the Lord leading you to invest your resources, time, wisdom, and experience? Where can you use your spiritual gifts and talents to bless others?Today's Scripture Verses:Genesis 12:1-2 - “The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father's household to the land I will show you. Please welcome Tommy with lots of love and bravery to share his story. Tommy lost his father at the age of 12. Grew up knowing about God but hated Him for a very long time due to his fathers passing. He shares how he felt unloved by his mother and family, never really seemed loved in other places, but did seek adrenaline by fighting, breaking the law and following the wrong type of crowd. Which lead him to do some prison time. Crazy right!!  To be honest, when be first explained this to me… I said… “Tommy, no way! Not you… you are a peaceful man, a relaxing man, a business owner, and I can see you have it all together'. And Tommy just lough. Not because I said something funny… but because Tommy was realizing how good and far God has brought him. Tommy has his own YouTube channel @tommyhuynh t_wrex_mtb where she shows off his skills and passion. He also owns along with his wife a Vietnamese restaurant called Monarch9 in Yorba Linda, check them out amazing food and atmosphere. I want to thank Tommy for sharing his story but more importantly being brave enough to heal from his past to create the beautiful future he currently has.
