“Ted Bundy: Examining The Unconfirmed Survivor Stories,” is the first publication to collate the known and frequently discussed stories of those individuals who shared their encounters with Ted Bundy decades after the execution of the serial killer. It compares these reports with data compiled by investigators, psychologists and contemporaries of Ted Bundy, as found in police files, psychological assessments and relevant literature. Includes thorough investigations into the accounts of “Blondie” singer Debbie Harry, Rhonda Stapley, Sara A. Survivor, Sotria Kritsonis, as well as numerous other unconfirmed survivors. Features the self-debunked story of a woman who had previously believed to be a Ted Bundy survivor. Delves into the possible motivations of deliberate and indeliberate victim-players, as well as Dr. Elizabeth Loftus' discoveries of the malleability of human memory. Erin Banks, who was mentored by Ted Bundy expert Kevin M. Sullivan, previously contributed a chapter to the author's sixth book on the case, “The Enigma Of Ted Bundy: The Questions And Controversies Surrounding America's Most Infamous Serial Killer.” TED BUNDY: Examining The Unconfirmed Survivor Stories-Erin Banks
Theodore Robert Bundy was one of the most prolific serial killers in U.S. history. He confessed to kidnapping, raping and murdering over 24 women, one as young as 12, although the actual count remains a mystery. He carried out his reign of terror throughout seven states during the 1970s, Some of his victims escaped the final act and lived to share the story of their ordeals. One such victim was Rhonda Stapley, author of the book I Survived Ted Bundy: The Attack, Escape and PTSD that changed my life. Ms. Stapley never reported her vicious rape at the hands of Ted Bundy. She didn’t disclose to her own family until almost 35 years after the attack. Her book was published in 2016 and she sat down with me to share her story of survival. Cover art by Leslie Rule

A young woman is offered a ride by a nice looking man in Salt Lake City in 1974. By the end of the day she would be attacked and almost killed by the infamous serial killer, Ted Budy. Rhonda Stapley kept her near-death encounter with serial killer Ted Bundy secret for decades, fearing the judgment that could come if she told how he kidnapped and raped her. The Utah college student hitched a ride with someone she thought was a cute law student, but he took a detour and coldly announced he was going to kill her. It was only because she fell into a river and was swept away by a swift current that she escaped. Stapley talks with Nancy Grace about the pain that followed in this “Crime Stories” episode.
She was an innocent Mormon girl. He was America's most notorious serial killer. When their paths crossed on a quiet autumn afternoon, he planned to kill her. But this victim had an incredible will to survive and would live to tell her story nearly three decades after he met death in a Florida electric chair.Ted Bundy brutally attacked Rhonda Stapley in a secluded Utah canyon in 1974. She miraculously escaped and hid her dark secret until now. This compelling real story of triumph over tragedy is both shocking and inspiring and told with the true courage of a victim turned survivor. (Foreword by Ann Rule).
