Black culture has shaped music, fashion, sports, entertainment, language, and social media across the globe. But does that global influence mean other races are obsessed with Black culture, or is it simply admiration and cultural exchange? In this episode of The Oracle 19 Podcast, we examine the worldwide impact of Black culture, the difference between appreciation and appropriation, the role of hip-hop and sports, and why Black trends often become mainstream. We also explore whether society celebrates Black culture while treating Black people differently. This is a thought-provoking discussion designed to encourage respectful debate, critical thinking, and honest conversation.Question of the Day:Do you believe the world is obsessed with Black culture, or is it simply recognizing its influence? Watch here: https://youtu.be/lXGatrQneKsIn Episode 270 of the Further Your Lifestyle podcast, host Chris combines a mid-year check-in with last week's focus on repetition and consistency, asking listeners to honestly compare where they are now to what they expected five years ago. He explains that hindsight only matters if it changes how you move forward, and highlights five core ideas: we overestimate what we can do in a year and underestimate what we can do in five; your younger self didn't know what they didn't know; time doesn't create wisdom—reflection does; regret can be useful if it fuels action; and imagining your future self can clarify what habits, risks, and conversations you should start today. He closes with reflection questions and emphasizes that time will pass regardless, so use lessons from the last five years to shape the next five.00:00 Welcome Back Intro00:23 Five Year Reality Check02:11 Two Ways We Look Back03:14 Year Vs Five Year Goals04:57 You Didnt Know Yet06:03 Reflection Builds Wisdom06:55 Using Regret As Fuel07:23 Living Your Own Path08:46 Talk To Future You10:19 Five Questions To Ask11:17 Wrap Up Next StepsPodcast Sponsors:Robert PiperHi Voltage BargainsEthan “Rooshock” The BOLO Hunter PODCAST: https://www.furtheryourlifestyle.com/► SUBSCRIBE to the podcast on▹ Spotify | https://bit.ly/FYL_Spotify▹ Apple Podcast | https://bit.ly/FYL_Apple▹ Google Podcast | https://bit.ly/FYL_GooglePod► Let's CONNECT on social media:▹ instagram | http://www.instagram.com/furtheryourlifestyle▹ email | hello@furtheryourlifestyle.comMUSIC:» via https://www.epidemicsound.com/referral/6hfvrvContinue the conversation: @furtheryourlifestyleJoin the Newsletter: check it out

Oppenheimer immediately established itself as one of the most important films in recent cinema. And after multiple viewings and further analysis, that belief has only grown stronger.Christopher Nolan has created far more than an entertaining and visually extraordinary epic about the brilliant scientist J. Robert Oppenheimer, whose work helped develop the atomic bomb that the United States ultimately used against Japan during the final days of the Second World War. This is also a film about opening the proverbial tube of toothpaste—releasing something that can never be put back—and forever changing the world as we know it.Nolan's masterful direction, the brilliant performances from the entire ensemble—including Cillian Murphy in the title role, Emily Blunt, Robert Downey Jr., Matt Damon, and many others—the exceptional cinematography and editing, and a story that remains as relevant today as ever all combine to make Oppenheimer a truly special, haunting, and powerful cinematic achievement. But looking back, was Oppenheimer truly deserving of the Best Picture Oscar among all the films released in 2023?Listen and find out what film critic Jack Ferdman thinks—and which film he ultimately chooses as his Rewatching Oscar winner for the year.Download, listen, and share ALL Rewatching Oscar episodes.SUBSCRIBE and FOLLOW Rewatching Oscar:Website: https://rewatchingoscar.buzzsprout.comApple Podcasts/iTunesSpotifyGoogle PodcastsiHeart RadioPodchaserPodcast AddictTuneInAlexaAmazon Overcasts Podcast Addict Player FMRSS Feed: https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1815964.rssWebsite: https://rewatchingoscar.buzzsprout.comSocial Media Links: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, BlueSkyShare your thoughts and suggestions with us through:Facebook Messenger or email us atjack@rewatchingoscar.com or jackferdman@gmail.comMusic by TurpacShow Producer: Jack FerdmanPodcast Logo Design: Jack FerdmanMovie (audio) trailer courtesy of MovieClips Classic TrailersMovie (audio) clips courtesy of YouTubeSupport us by downloading, sharing, and giving us a 5-star Rating. Watch here: https://youtu.be/gTqs4SevC8UIn Episode 269 of the Further Your Lifestyle podcast, host Chris explains why repetition is a key driver of long-term success after being told he's “too repetitive.” He argues that breakthroughs and “overnight success” are usually the result of hundreds or thousands of repeated actions, and that long-term success is created by repetition rather than intensity. Chris outlines how repetition builds strong foundations, develops skills and confidence, removes decision fatigue by reducing constant reinvention, and creates a compounding effect over time. He also notes repetition can feel slow in an instant-results culture, and that repeated actions shape identity—positively or negatively—so discipline must be rebuilt when habits are unhealthy. He closes with questions about where more repetition is needed and whether listeners are chasing excitement or building something that lasts.00:00 Welcome and Topic02:34 Breakthroughs vs Reps03:33 Build Strong Foundations05:59 Beat Decision Fatigue07:39 Compounding Results08:36 Why It Feels Slow10:05 Identity and Discipline11:41 Questions and Wrap UpPodcast Sponsors:Robert PiperHi Voltage BargainsEthan “Rooshock” The BOLO Hunter PODCAST: https://www.furtheryourlifestyle.com/► SUBSCRIBE to the podcast on▹ Spotify | https://bit.ly/FYL_Spotify▹ Apple Podcast | https://bit.ly/FYL_Apple▹ Google Podcast | https://bit.ly/FYL_GooglePod► Let's CONNECT on social media:▹ instagram | http://www.instagram.com/furtheryourlifestyle▹ email | hello@furtheryourlifestyle.comMUSIC:» via https://www.epidemicsound.com/referral/6hfvrvContinue the conversation: @furtheryourlifestyleJoin the Newsletter: check it out

I don't remember when I started responding "THANK YOU" to guests saying, "Good question," but E Conner said it so often I felt obliged to explain the bit. I was slightly humbled by their admission it's an organizing trick for when you don't have an answer and not the turbo validation I interpret it to be. Fortunately, I don't need permission to self-aggrandize, and I have no plans to retire the bit any time soon. It's a silly moment in the midst of a really pleasant and sometimes intense conversation about E's punk rock radicalization, surprising (to me) orientation toward religion, and what it feels like to be part of an activist/artistic community in the Bay Area for 20 years. We talk about: punk roots, tenant organizing, Black Liberation Army pamphlets, Maximum Rocknroll, traveling as a homeless teenager, the Ghost Ship fire, environmental grief, turning self activity into collective activity. This Is Your Afterlife is made possible by listeners like you on Patreon. Send us Fan MailVideo podcast here:In his recent interview, Jacob Hansen never once quotes from or references the Book of Mormon. It's no wonder—doing so would have forced him to confront the clear differences between what the Book of Mormon actually teaches and what the modern LDS Church teaches today.Instead of relying on the Book of Mormon, he turns to later teachings from Joseph Smith and other church traditions that came after the book was published. This pattern is common among the LDS Church, the RLDS/Community of Christ, and many other Mormon offshoots: they often set aside their original book of scripture in favor of later developments. In this episode, we look at what the Book of Mormon actually says about who Jesus is.We believe the Book of Mormon is the word of God. Its message is centered on Jesus Christ. Far from contradicting the Bible, it beautifully complements and clarifies it. The Book of Mormon powerfully reinforces the core doctrines of mercy, justice, repentance, salvation, and eternal life so they cannot be misunderstood.Above all, it testifies of the atonement of Jesus Christ. It presents Jesus as God Himself who took on flesh, came to earth, and died for our sins. It is a sacred record of the descendants of Joseph—specifically the tribes of Ephraim and Manasseh—preserved for our day.The Bible was originally written in Hebrew and Greek before being translated into English. Because of this, many different English versions exist—each the result of careful work by scholars, linguists, and translators. In contrast, the Book of Mormon was translated only once, by the gift and power of God, using divinely prepared instruments. The Lord Himself guided the process, removing human interpretation and choosing words that precisely convey the meaning He wants us to understand. This is an extraordinary gift that helps us clearly know what we need for our salvation and for building a personal relationship with our Creator.purchase RCE Book of Mormon https://bomf.org/shop/ Restored Gospel - Scripture Search and Study Resources Contact us:restoredgospelpodcast@gmail.comMusic by Michael Barrett

This is it, y'all: the Andrei Rublev episode. I write this blurb from a future where I've now seen 5 of the 7 Tarkovsky features, and currently, Andrei Rublev is my favorite. In the Mark Le Fanu book I reference throughout this series, he says this movie "represents filmmaking about as physically ambitious as it is possible to contemplate." And here, I'm contemplating it with Pod Casty for Me's Ian Rhine. Ian is a sensitive, funny, and intelligent conversation partner, and this episode was truly a joy to make. At one point during recording, I remember sitting back and just appreciating how nice it was to be having such a great talk about such an incredible movie. This episode is longer than the final cut of the film but not as long as the original cut, The Passion According to Andrei.
