Husband and wife comedians Mike Bobbitt and Allyson Bobbitt take turns making each other watch a movie the other has never seen. This week, they make their dear friend comedian/writer/podcaster Samantha Rager watch Sleepaway Camp. Robert Hiltzik's 1983 Sleepaway Camp is a movie that scarred Mike for decades when he saw it in the theater at 11 years old. He was already watching horror movies of the day and had a subscription to Fangoria, but there was something about seeing kids his own age get killed in a slasher flick and the twist ending that literally caused him nightmares for over 30 years until he revisited the movie as an adult. Now Sleepaway Camp has become a favorite to both him and his wife Allyson. Will Sam Rager find this as terrifying as a young Mike did, or will she appreciate the silliness of it like an adult Allyson does? Even if they movie's infamous ending doesn't cause a scare, the ending to this week's episode will come as quite a shock. Be sure to check out Sam's brand new podcast My Eulogies Please where she hosts a variety of funny people giving eulogies to fictional characters. The first episode may be out now. If not, it is coming soon and you can follow the podcast on Facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/myeulogiesplease Also be sure to download her album Trigger Warning which is available everywhere online. Sara and Detroit comic Samantha Rager explore the abandoned Detroit Police Department in Detroit, MI.
It's a dream come true for Dickie as this week's episode is recorded in the home of Thomas's cousin, Beatles expert Paul Starr. Some dreams unfortunately turn into nightmares as Paul reveals more than just the truth behind the Fabfour! Paul Starr is definitely not the darkly brilliant comedian Samantha Rager. Sam is far too busy touring in support of her wonderful album Trigger Warning...which is available on all digital distribution sites. Go to SamRagerComedy.com to find out where she's performing. Thomas and Dickie again are not comedians Alex Bozinovic and Mike Bobbitt. The date of this release coincides with our final live show at Cellarmen's. We are all incredibly grateful to Cellarmen's for giving us a place to birth this weird little baby. Moving forward, the monthly live Truth shows will be at Go! Comedy in Ferndale, Michigan. If you'd like Thomas and Dickie to come to your town, drop us a line. Support this podcast
In the latest Episode of “Before The Show”, David, Elizabeth, And Connor take Samantha Rager through “the gauntlet”. We learn what got her started in the underground comedy scene around Metro Detroit 7 years ago. Connor hijacks Liz’s questions. Sam talks about finding her voice, cliché misogyny, and the rising voices of underground female comedians. Rising up from causing chaos in classes as a student to pranking her coworkers one Halloween, Sam is a riot. From her favorite color (Purple) to her thoughts on hecklers, the India-Pakistan Conflict and what she does after a show, We dig deep. Dave finds the most complex way to ask Sam about her hobbies. #coronerlove --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/uglybroscomedy/support
