Venom guitarist Rage Dixon and Six Feet Under guitarist Jack Owen headline this double episode, breaking down the making of Into Oblivion and Next To Die. Rage explains how losing two years of recordings forced Venom to rebuild the album from scratch, pushing the band toward a more experimental, live-driven sound, while Owen explores whether Six Feet Under is returning to its classic groove-focused identity. The episode covers Venom's no click track recording approach, the evolution behind “Lay Down Your Soul” and “Kicked Out of Hell,” and the band's direction moving forward. In the second half, Owen is joined by Metal Mayhem ROC correspondent Bill the Rager, bringing a 35-year friendship into the conversation, turning it into a heavy metal memory lane alongside insights on songwriting, touring, stepping away from lead guitar, and stories from his time in Cannibal Corpse. Your anger isn't a character flaw. It's a childhood survival strategy that's been running your nervous system for decades. In this video, Kenny Weiss explains why suppressed anger is actually a subconscious request for intimacy, and how to rewire it from the root.If you've ever exploded at your partner over something small, or gone completely silent in a conflict and had no idea why, this video explains the mechanism underneath. Suppressed anger follows the Worst Day Cycle™, a four-stage pattern of trauma, fear, shame, and denial that gets installed in childhood and replays in every adult relationship. Your emotional blueprint, the internal software built before age seven, tells your nervous system which feelings are safe and which will get you abandoned. When a trigger hits, your nervous system doesn't respond to the present moment. It responds to the original wound.Kenny Weiss teaches that the opposite of love is not anger. The opposite of love is indifference. Anger directed at someone you love is a desperate, often destructive request to be seen, understood, and known. The Rager, the Suppressor, and the Adapted Wounded Child are three survival personas that develop from the same childhood blueprint. Until you access that blueprint, no communication skill, anger management technique, or therapy tool will create lasting change. The Emotional Authenticity Method™ is a six-step process that moves you from reactive survival mode into authentic emotional processing. It begins with somatic down-regulation, activating the vagus nerve to create safety in the body, then moves through identifying the real feeling underneath the anger, locating it in the body, tracing it to its childhood origin, connecting with the Authentic Self, and Feelization, the step that builds a new emotional chemical addiction to replace the old blueprint.Kenny Weiss is a relationship, communication, and childhood trauma recovery specialist and the creator of the Worst Day Cycle™, the Authentic Self Cycle™, and the Emotional Authenticity Method™. He has spent over two decades helping high-functioning, emotionally exhausted adults break free from repeating patterns of codependence, shutdown, rage, and self-abandonment. His work integrates neuroscience-backed somatic practices with proprietary emotional blueprint mapping to create lasting transformation at the nervous system level.TOPICS COVERED: suppressed anger, why am I so angry, anger in relationships, suppressed anger symptoms, childhood trauma and anger, Worst Day Cycle, Authentic Self Cycle, Emotional Authenticity Method0:00 — Why Your Anger Reaction Is Way Too Big for What Just Happened1:15 — The Ghost With Your Partner's Face2:30 — Anger Is Not the Opposite of Love, Indifference Is3:45 — How Your Emotional Blueprint Installed Suppressed Anger5:15 — The Worst Day Cycle: Trauma, Fear, Shame, Denial7:00 — The Rager, The Suppressor, and The Adapted Wounded Child8:30 — Why Gottman, DBT, and Communication Skills Never Stuck10:00 — The Emotional Authenticity Method: Six Steps to Rewire Anger12:30 — The 90% Rule and Your One Next Step

Every worker has a bad boss story—but why are they so common? In this two-parter, Rodney Evans and Sam Spurlin dig into the archetypes of dysfunctional leaders and the systems that keep them in power. Because bad bosses aren't accidents—they're often a predictable response to organizational pressures. In Part 1, they take on the Micromanager, the Rager, and the Martyr. From obsessive control and volcanic tempers to bosses who never log off, these archetypes reveal the deeper fears and systemic incentives driving destructive behavior. Along the way, Rodney and Sam share strategies for surviving each type, plus insights for executives who may be unknowingly creating the conditions for bad bosses to thrive. -------------------------------- Ready to change your organization? Hana Ahn certainly does – and he's bringing it all back through the So Stoked Boogie Series and Triple Crown of Bodyboarding. What started as a pandemic pivot has blossomed into a full-fledged movement. When COVID-19 shut down the football programs Ahn coached, his focus shifted to the ocean. "We turned to the water and while doing the water, the boys started to get good at bodyboarding," Ahn explains. This organic return to the waves sparked something bigger – a mission to revitalize a beloved water sport that had faded from prominence.Today, the Triple Crown of Bodyboarding encompasses competitions at legendary spots including Sandy Beach and Pipeline, featuring six divisions from keiki (10-13 years) to professionals. Beyond traditional divisions, Ahn has introduced creative categories like synchronized bodyboarding, where two riders perform identical tricks on the same wave. This comprehensive approach isn't just about competition – it's about rebuilding an entire ecosystem that once supported professional bodyboarding, complete with sponsors, events, and pathways to professional careers. The vision extends internationally too. Ahn has taken groups of young Hawaiian riders to Portugal for the IBC World Tour, where several reached quarterfinals and beyond. "We're trying to build the sport for the youngins," Ahn shares, "so if this is their dream and their passion, they can actually make money off of it." It's a mission to ensure this generation of bodyboarders has the same opportunities – and more – than previous ones.Beyond the waves, Ahn is reviving the cultural scene that once surrounded bodyboarding. Through concert events featuring local artists, he's reconnecting the sport with the vibrant community atmosphere that made bodyboarding not just a sport, but a lifestyle in Hawaii.Ready to catch this wave of bodyboarding revival? Follow @SoStokedBoogieSeries to stay updated on upcoming events, competitions, and how you can support this remarkable resurgence of Hawaii's water culture. Join us at Jolene's Bar and Grill at Kaneohe Bayview Golf Course on Friday, August 11th, for live music featuring Bengali from Innavision, Brotherhood, One Session, and Poi Bo. Tickets available on Eventbrite for $20, or $30 at the door.

Linda, Allison and Noah talk about (1) the reserve call-up and the new IDF operation – it's already got a name: Gideon's Chariots – that the government plans to launch in Gaza, and whether or not it is a good idea; and (2) The violent protests of a “Joint Israeli-Palestinian Memorial Event” in Raanana, and what we do and do not learn from them. All this and the crooked timber of humanity on the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Dachau, and a mystical Challah dough-offering ceremony in Jerusalem and a story we learned at the Bicycle Museum that is unbelievable even after three generations!
