The band was formed in 2012 when a few longtime friends and high school classmates got together in a basement to cover their favorite songs. As the band grew and evolved they traded covers for original music and began to develop a live improvisational chemistry that would come to define their sound. They released their debut self-titled EP in January 2015, a blues and garage-rock influenced set that compiles four highlights from the band's early material. After the EP's release, the band took a drastic sonic turn, opting for more lush, mellow, and psychedelic textures. This approach culminated in their first full-length album Live at the Fillmore, released in August of 2016. Maddie is a talented concept artist and teacher known mostly for her ZBrush work. Coming from a practical background, her skills come from familiar ground - Fangoria, a love of monsters and sculpting for fun! She has taught classes for Gnomon since 2006 - we recommend the ‘Introduction to ZBrush 2021' video course. Todd and I both cite this as the breakthrough moment for both of us, making what previously had been indecipherable to us accessible and understandable. The way she comes across reminded us of Dick Smith, with a generous nature coupled with a thorough understanding of the subject. Maddie graciously invited Stu and me into her museum-like flat in London, where we chatted for hours surrounded by an eclectic collection of curios and oddities; it is a little 'Ripley's Believe It Or Not' and a little bit Smithsonian, with a dash of Natural History thrown carefully in. We talked about everything, concentrating on how digital sculpting has become a permanent part of the special makeup effects world.
On Episode 44 of Fangoria's COLORS OF THE DARK Elric and Bekah discuss new films SPEAK NO EVIL, BLOOD BITE, BEAST, GOODNIGHT MOMMY (US Remake), GONE IN THE NIGHT, DEATHSTREAM & a look back at the masterpiece PERFECT BLUE. The duo then begin to right the wrongs of the horror snubbing OSCARS by selecting their own winners from the horror films of the 1990's.

Hey Sinners! Today we have a super special treat. I just recorded this episode this morning and I'm pushing it out to y'all right away because Gerardo is running a Kickstarter for his film and it only has 4 more days left. Heres the blurb "In 1989, mexican direct to video superstar Ricky Valente was in line to write and direct NARCO SHARK, a wild and ambitious film about a Detective/Saxophonist who battles the Mexican Yakuza and a cocaine fueled Killer Shark while trying to save his marriage from falling apart and helping his awkwardly shy but sexually depraved brother in law learn some breakdancing moves. Sadly, the film was never made… until now." It has been written up in FANGORIA, RUE MORGUE MAGAZINE, DREAD CENTRAL. I hope you enjoy the show and as always thank you for your SUPPORT! Okay, so stop me if you've heard this one before, a Leprechaun, a He-Man villain, and Hulk villain walk into a sh!tty movie. This week we're skinning out teeth on the 2004 indie film "Skinned Deep". Written, directed, and produced by special effects guru Gabriel Bartalos under the Fangoria banner this "movie" is one of the most absurd, weird, and "What the f*@k is happening" movies we've ever seen. Hell, we're still trying to make sense of it and sadly I don't think we ever will.
