Arune gets to the core of GI Joe fandom with Mike Irizarry, "The Honcho" Mark Weber, cosplayer extraordinaire Sara Detrick, and IDW G.I. Joe scribe Paul Allor, piecing together what makes their individual Skystrikers fly. It's a fun discussion with a lot of heart! Virtual JoeCon is a fundraiser for World Central Kitchen! What better way is there to look back at the 2010s (aka The WOJM Decade) than with our tribute to the running jokes that have fueled our discussions since 2011? It was impossible to catch everything, but hopefully your favorites will show up somewhere in this well-placed tribute to the most overbearing running joke in the English language, the number 69. Mike, Joe, and an ironically-debuting Wristlock Wes Whitlock invite you to enjoy the end of the WOJM Decade with a complete lack of class but good intentions and lots of love! We'll catch you again in 2020... the start of The WOJM Decade Part II: Electric Boogaloo! It's October, which means changing leaves, pumpkin spice, Halloween, and... WOJM Ladies Night! Joe and (Honorary Lady) Mike are joined once again by Sara Detrick and Kate McLeod for discussion, news, and one of the best "Losertown" segments of all time! Since the holiday season is upon us, Joe leads the team through a brief discussion of GI Joe-themed vintage Halloween costumes and Hallmark Christmas ornaments, and Sara is scarred by Lady Jaye while taking a shine to Speedy. You can find pictures of the costumes at: Vintage costumes - http://www.vintage3djoes.com/playsuits--costumes.html French masks - https://www.yojoe.com/international/france/masks.shtml Also, Mike leads a mini-interview of Joe, as she recounts her long, eleven-year journey towards becoming an American citizen, which she completed September 11. October is both Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Domestic Violence Awareness Month, so the team decided it was a good time to give the keys to Joe Colton and bring back our Ladies' Night tradition (Ladies Night III to be exact)! Joining Joe is Spider-Slayer and Tinkles (old friends of the show Sara Detrick and Kate McLeod), and together they'll explore the world of GI Joe from a feminine perspective - from cosplaying to collecting and may stops in between. You'll also learn the origins of their special code names (for the record, Joe's is "Sniffles") and have a laugh or twenty along the way. Pour yourself a favorite beverage - just like our hostesses with the mostesses - and enjoy! PS, if you enjoyed this edition of Ladies Night, go back into our archives and listen to Ladies Night I and II. You won't be disappointed.

On this episode of AGP, I welcome my close friend Sara Detrick to the show. Sara is a member of the group Girls of the Finest. The Girls of the Finest campaign was started last year. Essentially it's a calendar of female members of the Finest, a G.I. Joe costume club, that we sell to raise money for charity. This year we're supporting the USO. A lot of G.I. Joe cosplayers have a military background so we're excited to be able to help not only the general public, but also our former and currently military members. The ladies who are in the calendar are NOT compensated for their appearance. They are donating their time, and often their props, which we make available for donation, to the campaign. For those of us working behind the scenes it's been a labor of love that we would really like to see succeed. It's something that all of us believe in. They have a campaign running on Indegogo right now, and really need our support. On top of all this Sara also helps out at conventions running the ROMA Collectibles booth, and helps run the Ohio Toy and Comic Show in Fairborn, Ohio. So please join us as we talk about all this and so much more on AGP.
