When Jesus gives us instructions regarding making disciples, he intentionally gives baptism a place of primary importance. Beyond this, Jesus, Himself, was baptized. At the birth of the Church in Acts, 3,000 people repented of their sins and were baptized. One cannot read the New Testament without being impressed by the significance of baptism to Christ and the Church. Even with such a high priority, however, there is often so much confusion regarding baptism. When should baptism occur? What does it mean? Who should be baptized? This weekend we will look together at God’s Word to see what He has to say about baptism, and, as always, we will evaluate our lives based on the plumb-line of His Word. I pray that you will not miss this weekend. I am praying and trusting that we will see God move in a very powerful way. I encourage you to pray with me. We are trusting God for big things because we serve a big God!

What does God’s Word say about the subject of Holy Spirit and His importance in our lives?
There are three of Jewish Pilgrimage Festivals: Passover, Pentecost, and Sukkot. I believe these ancient times of celebration foreshadowed the three greatest days in the life of the church AND that they are the greatest evidence the Bible is the Word of God, and Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of the Living God.
Have you ever wondered why Pentecost is a big deal in the Christian church? Pentecost is an annual event, a feast that comes the Sunday 50 days after Passover. So, Passover and Pentecost are related. Pentecost is one of the most important events in the history of Israel, which is the passing over of the death angel in Egypt. After that event, the people of Israel were liberated and began their journey to the Promised Land. What makes Pentecost a big deal? Power, plain and simple. It was something that Jesus told His disciples would occur, and it did. Do you need special skills or prayers to have the Holy Spirit dwell in you? See what the Bible says about this. It can change your life.

The gift of tongues; reaching all people in their own languages. Pentecost was when the Holy Spirit translated the message into all languages for all people. Pentecost is about communication; it is about the Cross communicating: God to Us and Us to Others.
Join us for a special joint worship service with Church Without Walls to celebrate Pentecost Sunday and the partnership of our churches! Pastor Gary VanderPol and Caitlyn Lim will be co-teaching a message on the power of the Holy Spirit to grasp God’s love within the Church in order to overflow from the Church. Get ready to worship, fellowship, and take communion together in breakout rooms at the conclusion of service! See you there!

There are no apostles on earth today. Vomit of the soul. When we vomit, our body senses something in our system that it needs to get rid of. It's unpleasant. So is sin. We have to go through these things to get rid of sin so to speak. It's violent and intrusive. When God's holy spirit speaks to our soul and shows us the sin that we've embraced, He allows our bodies to get so sick of that, that when we are finally heartbroken because of our sin, we don't want that in there anymore. We come to a place where we repent (have a change of mind and action) about it. Calling upon the name of the Lord is worship. One can only worship if they have a relationship with the Lord, if they are saved. God wants every person to be born again. Many have chosen hell over God.

There were no denominations back then, but they were Baptistic in their beliefs. They had the apostles doctrine in those days. They were handed down by God through Jesus Christ. That is what is to be embraced and to run with as the people of God. The day of Pentecost was one day in history. There will never be another one like it. They had a small preview of what was happening in heaven. All that believed were together and had all things common.
