Check out Cam's latest novel / audio drama here! Summerween continues with an in-depth discussion of the very first Paranormal Activity. How did this landmark horror movie advance so many subgenres at the same time, from found footage to haunted house and horror romance? How does it weaponize almost every single seemingly innocent element of the setting and performances into becoming part of its creature design? And HOW does a movie that we've been watching and rewatching for almost twenty years still keep us up at night? Comparisons include: The Blair Witch Project, Midsommar, Tolkien's fractal introduction of Shelob, The White Stripes song Ball and Biscuit, and maybe ten seconds of Doctor Faustus. In this coaching episode, I'm joined by Kim, a lawyer and divorce mediator based in the Canadian Great Plains who has spent her career helping others navigate some of the hardest transitions of their lives (lord knows, I've done it twice!). What she brought to our session was something so many of us carry quietly– a shame spiral from a painful professional experience nearly a decade ago that she couldn't quite shake, and the way it had been silently running the show ever since. This one went places I didn't expect, and I think that's exactly why you need to hear it. We ended up in territory around conditioning, self-trust, intuition, and what it really means to put yourself first when your whole life has been built around “doing your duty” as a woman. Kim also sent in a follow-up update three months later, and I'm not going to spoil it, but it pleasantly surprised me. Key Takeaways: Shame from a painful event doesn't just live in your head. It shows up in the opportunities you stop pursuing without even realizing it. The question that can change everything: what is my conditioning versus what is my truth? Beating yourself up for not trusting your intuition sooner is not actually going to help you trust it more. Your nervous system is the judge and jury, and you build self-trust by giving it small, low-stakes evidence over time. "Just because you can doesn't mean you have to". Kim's own words, and one of my favorite takeaways from this whole conversation. Healing rarely looks like a dramatic moment of clarity. It's quieter, slower, and usually made up of a hundred small things stacking up over time. Intention setting is one of the most underrated tools we have for slowly opening ourselves up to trusting something beyond the system. Kim's update at the end of this episode is proof that sometimes the most profound shifts happen in the places you least expect them, and that the real work is just deciding to stop vomiting on the barn floor. Hour 4 full 00:00 All right, welcome back to the program. Let's go to the phones and talk to Richard in Dallas. Richard, what's going on, Hey, man, you talking about January 6th? I'll tell you how slick and sneaky our government is, I got arrested for simply thinking about going to that rally. Man, they're tough. They are tough. I want to talk to you about, listen, the Democrat Party, heard they was planning a party to celebrate the uh failure of the rezoning down there in Jim Clyburn's district. 00:30 Oh yeah. And it's going to be, I heard it's going to be hosted by one of Jim Clyburn's famous fish fries. Yeah. They're going to do the big, um, yeah, the barbecue, right? Ah, they said fish fries. Is it a fish fry? Hell yeah. heard the fish fries. might go to that. Well, I was going to make a comment about that. Down there in his district where he's at, those people vote for him. Apparently he's held this fish fry before and famous for it. Right. 00:59 And my point is, these folks, if you feed them some good old deep fried catfish, fried pig lard, listen, with some slaw and hush puppies, french fries, of times a year, couple of times a year, and serve them some good old red ripe watermelon for dessert. I'll be there. Ain't nothing wrong with that. um 01:25 for the rest of his life. People vote for him You feed me that stuff, I might vote for you for the rest of my life. I appreciate it, buddy. Thank you. Oh man, this is the time we went to a good fish fry. Last one I went to was at a VFW. Man, it was so good. Well, I've got some breaking news. I got to a breaking news sounder for the program. Duttle up, duttle up, duttle up, duttle up, duttle up. It looks like that President Trump has made, no, it doesn't look like. 01:52 I'll restate that President Trump has made an endorsement in the governor's race here in South Carolina. Yes. Yes. JJ. Yes. Yes. Go ahead. Whoa. Oh, whoa. There has been an endorsement. This was made breaking on Charlie show saying, whoa, at five 45 this afternoon, President Trump posted on truth social, highly respected and very prop a very popular. 02:22 Lieutenant Governor of South Carolina, Pam Evitt, is an American first patriot who has been with me from the very beginning. She never wavered, never let me down. It was the only South Carolina gubernatorial candidate to endorse me as soon as I launched my 2024 presidential campaign. She crisscrossed South Carolina and other states for me. And I said at that time that this is truly something which I cannot forget. Now Pam is running to be the next governor of South Carolina. 02:50 A place I love and one big in 2016, 2010 and 2024, getting the highest vote by far in the state's history. A successful entrepreneur, businesswoman and civic leader prior to becoming a distinguished Lieutenant Governor and working with my friend and great Governor, Henry McMaster. Pam has proven that she has the courage and wisdom to deliver strong results for the people of her wonderful state and our nation. As your next governor, Pam will fight hard to grow the economy. 03:18 cut taxes and regulations, promote Made in the USA, champion our amazing farmers and ranchers, keep our borders secure, stop migrant crime, strengthen our military, veterans, uh safeguard our elections, and protect our always-underseas Second Amendment. Pam Evitt is a good friend, fighter, and winner, and will be a terrific governor of South Carolina. Pam has my complete and total endorsement. She will never let you down. 03:46 A big added plus for Pam is that I hear Henry McMaster Jr., the brilliant and very competent son of Henry and Peggy, will be running with her as the next Lieutenant Governor. I love South Carolina President Donald J. Trump. Vomit, vomit, vomit. 04:07 I love President Trump, love President Trump, but I think it was way, no, I'm just, here's the thing, no. 04:17 I mean, yeah, and we talked about this, didn't we? were talking about this of weeks ago. A recent study simulated the extreme temperatures and pressure of the Earth's interior by squeezing a sample between diamonds and heating it with a laser. In those simulations, researchers found that the Earth's core may contain vast amounts of hydrogen, locked away in alloys with iron and silicon. Planetary scientist Anat Shahar joins Host Ira Flatow to discuss what this tells us about how the planet formed, and where water on Earth may have come from. Then, another kind of deep history: Paleontologist Arnaud Rebillard introduces Host Flora Lichtman to “regurgitalite”—fossilized vomit. Rebillard studied a sample of regurgitalite some 50 million years older than the dinosaurs. Guests: Dr. Anat Shahar is a planetary scientist, and vice president for research at the Carnegie Institution for Science in Washington, D.C. Arnaud Rebillard is a PhD candidate in paleontology at the Natural History Museum of Berlin. Other episodes you may enjoy: Could Underground Hydrogen Reserves Put Clean Energy Within Reach? Hyperemesis gravidarum (HG) represents the most severe end of the nausea and vomiting of pregnancy spectrum. It has a reported incidence of approximately 0.3–3% of pregnancies and is the most common cause of hospitalization in early pregnancy and the second most common cause of hospitalization in pregnancy overall. In June 2024, the ACOG published a Clinical Expert series summarizing the inpatient management of HG. In that guidance, it describes mirtazapine as an “alternative pharmacologic” option. How effective is this medication compared to ondansetron? A new study (published ahead of print on 12/30/25 and officially out June 2026), out of Denmark, sheds some new light on this medication. This trial is the first double-blind RCT comparing mirtazapine to ondansetron AND placebo. Although a BIG limitation of this study exists (which we will discuss), it does provide some interesting insights. Listen in for details.1. (ACOG CES) Clark, Shannon M. Hey friend — buckle up. This episode is peak messy and oddly heartwarming: imagine a Victorian house party with deceptive chocolate cocktails (they sneak up on you), a disco ball spin-off, and one of our hosts getting so tanked she ends up barfing in the shower. Classic. We also dig into the restaurant trenches — you know the ones: forced prix-fixe menus, last-minute menu swaps, entitled Valentine's diners who stiff servers and act like their big romantic show excuses everything. If you ever wondered why hospitality folks roll their eyes at Feb 14, this episode explains it in gruesome detail. On the flip side, there's a genuinely sweet chaos: a sneaky ring in a jacket pocket (disguised among empanadas, naturally), a bout of nausea from cigar smoke, and then—after showers and teeth-brushing—the perfect, quiet proposal at home. It's hilarious and tender all at once: puke, pajamas, and a very sincere “will you?” We rant about how Valentine's can be performative and cruel, celebrate Galentine's and the small rituals that actually matter, and trade childhood Valentine memories (cupcakes, cheesy hearts, and all). It's raw, funny, and totally relatable. Want to swap your best or worst V-Day stories? Slide into our DMs — misery, triumph, and barf tales welcome. Love ya. Cheers.

In this absolutely unglued episode, your favorite movie goblins spiral into a double feature of romantic body horror nightmares, breaking down Together, directed by Michael Shanks, and The Ugly Stepsister, directed by Emilie Blichfeldt — two films that boldly ask the question:“What if love… but also screaming?”First up, we tackle Together, where relationships, intimacy, and human bodies all politely agree to stop following the rules of God, science, and decency. We yell about uncomfortable closeness, emotional dependency taken to Cronenberg levels, and how this movie feels like couples therapy if your therapist was a cursed swamp witch. Every conversation somehow becomes:“Would you survive this situation?” (No)“Is this romantic or a biohazard?” (Yes)“Why is the human body like this?” (Rude of it, honestly)Shanks clearly woke up one day and said, “Let's emotionally terrorize everyone who's ever been in a relationship,” and we respect the commitment to violence. Then we skip gleefully into the bloody fairy tale hellscape of The Ugly Stepsister, directed by Emilie Blichfeldt, a gorgeous, grotesque body-horror remix of Cinderella that proves beauty standards have always been a full-contact sport. We lose our collective minds over:Medieval cosmetic surgery nightmaresVomit trauma (so much vomit trauma)Beauty rituals that feel like OSHA violationsThe sheer audacity of adding in THAT MANY you-know-whatWe praise Blichfeldt for crafting a film that feels like it crawled out of a cursed storybook soaked in blood, jealousy, and bad vibes.Somewhere along the way the episode derails into:Screaming about practical effects like proud raccoonsDebating which movie would emotionally destroy us fasterQuestioning every weight loss method ever Arguing whether fairy tales were always body horror and we were just naïve little foolsDeclaring that love is beautiful, disgusting, and possibly hauntedThis episode is basically three horror nerds laughing hysterically while being spiritually attacked by intimate trauma cinema and cursed fairytale energy.CREEP-O-RAMA is: Store: CREEP-O-RAMAYouTube: @creep-o-ramaJosh: @joshblevesqueArtwork: @bargainbinblasphemyTheme: @imfigureAudio: @stranjlove

What does Jesus do with lukewarm faith? The heart of this message calls us to see ourselves clearly, repent of spiritual complacency, and respond to God with zealous love instead of lukewarm religion. Jesus stands at the door and knocks, not to condemn, but to invite us back into passionate, wholehearted relationship with Him. Thank you for listening to the Truth for Today Podcast!
