Paul began his third missionary journey by returning to Ephesus, after briefly stopping there at the end of his second journey. He stayed in Ephesus ministering for almost three years, his longest stay in any city during his journeys.
Tim Neale teaches from Acts 19:1-20.
The believers in Ephesus didn't just believe in Jesus, they developed a fear of the Lord. That reverence led them to repent, confess their sins, and burn the things that once held their allegiance. When God's people hunger for righteousness and surrender everything to Him, He responds by moving in powerful ways.
Pastor Boyd Bettis preaches on Acts 19:21-41.

Basic Bible Study | 1 Corinthians 7-16 (Part 2) & Acts 19:21-20:2a (Part 5) In today's podcast, join Chris and Robyn as they continue their discussion. Here is a breakdown of what was discussed: - a little chit-chat - recap of last episode - when your focus is on living for Christ, your rights become comparatively unimportant - what special gifts has God given you? - don't allow your unfulfilled desires to cause you to forget God's gifts of life, family, friends, food, health & work - putting our trust in anything but God is idolatry - our actions must be motivated by God's love, so that all we do will be for His glory - the Lord's Supper is a visible representation symbolizing the death of Christ for our sins; it reminds us of Christ's death & the glorious hope of His return - the spiritual gift given to each person by the Holy Spirit are special abilities that are to be used to minister to the needs of the body of believers - each believer has a specialized, God-designed role - three things will last forever: faith, hope & love; the greatest of these is love - prophecy (preaching) benefits the whole church, while speaking in tongues primarily benefits the speaker - a little chit-chat regarding Children's Bibles - our resurrected bodies will be perfect, without any infirmities - what to read for next time “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ABOUT Opening a Bible for the first time can be intimidating. In Ephesus, people carried pieces of clothing from Paul to the sick and saw miraculous healing take place. But Acts 19 reminds us that the power was never in the object, it was in the Spirit of God moving through surrendered believers. This sermon explores obedience, the timing of God, the mantle of the Holy Spirit, and the invitation for believers to walk in the authority Jesus has given them.

Guest Pastor Nate Mattox preaches on Acts 19:11-20.
This sermon looks at common obstacles to the gifts of the Spirit and invites us to trust the good Father who gives the Holy Spirit to those who ask.
Acts chronicles the relentless expansion of the good news of Jesus. In the second part of Acts 19 we jump ahead a few years to the conclusion of Paul's time in Ephesus, and from this we are given a glimpse into the effects of the gospel on a society. From the empty tomb in Jerusalem, to this wild amphitheater riot in Ephesus, the power of the gospel to blow away the empty systems of evil is subtle, yet unstoppable.Do you ever feel overwhelmed by the state godlessness in the world around you? Do you feel personally paralyzed by the scope and scale of the problems and forces of opposition standing against Christ and his church? “What difference can my faith and obedience to Jesus really make?”As you prepare for Sunday and read the story of the “disturbance concerning the way”, consider the snowballing effect of a simple, faithful witness. Do you think you can make a difference in this world for Jesus? What small opportunity has the Lord already given you to be a witness today that will bring him glory and fame tomorrow?Join us tomorrow as we will hear from a guest preacher this Sunday: Pastor Brennan Catanni from OVC.
Pastor Rod Parsley and Ashton Blaire continue their deep dive into Pentecost, the baptism of the Holy Spirit, and the supernatural power available to every believer. From Acts 19 to the modern church, this conversation unpacks why so many Christians feel spiritually disconnected — and what it truly means to be filled with the Holy Spirit. In this episode, they tackle some of the most misunderstood topics in Christianity: speaking in tongues, hearing the voice of God, spiritual authority, conviction, worship, and the evidence of a Spirit-filled life. You'll discover why the Holy Spirit was never meant to be a doctrine to debate — but a power to experience. If you've been hungry for more of God, struggling to discern His voice, or wondering if there's “something more” beyond religion, this episode will reignite your faith and challenge you to plug back into Heaven's power source. New episodes of The Rod Parsley Podcast drop every Tuesday at 8 AM ET.

Guest Pastor Tim Bice preaches on Acts 19:1-10
"Humour and Horror"Acts 19:1-20In Acts 19 Paul arrives in the city of Ephesus where he experiences one of his most fruitful and extraordinary seasons of ministry. However, we also find two rather peculiar stories: twelves so-called disciples who have never heard of the Holy Spirit and seven Jewish exorcists who use the name of Jesus. Say what? The book of Acts is full of exciting and triumphant stories, but these two take both a humourous and horrifying turn. But from both we see that the name of Jesus is powerful, in fact his name alone is powerful. As you read the passage and prepare for Sunday, consider this: do you believe that the name of Jesus empowers you? Every Christian is saved and empowered by faith in his name. How should this empowerment bear fruit in YOUR life?
While Paul was still in Ephesus, a major disturbance broke out. Led by a silversmith, the city was concerned that Paul's teaching was jeopardizing the worship of Artemis. But Luke recognizes a deeper concern. The town is worried it will affect their businesses and wallets. We take a closer look at our idolatry and false religion, which lead to greed and a self-interest that produces fear and chaos.

Paul is not stopped by the enemies of the Word but he changes his venue and ends up reaching more people. There comes a time when an audience is too hostile for the gospel to be heard.

Some disciples of John the Baptist are baptized with water in the name of Jesus and with the Holy Spirit, speaking in tongues and prophesying authenticates the final bridge between the Old Testament prophets and the New Covenant.
Word was spreading around Ephesus of Paul's ministry and Jesus' power. But Jesus was not like the gods the Ephesians worshipped and manipulated. It was a lesson a group of exorcists learned through error. By their humiliation, the church was turned toward deeper repentance and holiness.

Mission: Impossible! Destination: Ephesus! Acts 19:1-22 | Pastor Howie Van Dyk by GraceChurchNJ
In Acts 19, we read that the ministry of the Apostle Paul and other Christians in the ancient city of Ephesus was so powerful that it threatened the false religion that was at the heart of the city. This led to a violent riot that Paul and others were only narrowly able to escape. In this sermon on Acts 19:21-41, Jackson Hankey explains the passage and discusses the Bible's teaching on the persecution of the church, the reality of spiritual warfare, the Satanic nature of false religion, the danger of idolizing wealth, the power of God to protect his people, and the fact that the reward of following Jesus is always worth the cost!
