Have you ever known someone who's making an important decision, and they consult some pretty unusual sources? Maybe the horoscope, maybe a medium, or perhaps they're looking for signs in the stars or their lottery numbers. Today, Pastor Dan says: don't be surprised by that. It's been a practice for ages, to consult the gods by omens and numbers. But that's not the way to consult the Living God. And that's what our man Balaam* will learn in today's message. And that message is a reminder for you too.
“We have to remember that we are all ambassadors for Christ, not a political party, not an agenda.” In part two of this two-part episode, Jennifer Clesi continues the conversation with Rev. Bryan Mittler and Rev. Michael De Quattro, in which they discuss more ways that God's love can cross political divides. This episode further expounds on the believer's role in political environments. Topics include remembering who we represent as ambassadors for Christ, focusing on the benefit and outcome of a conversation rather than proving we're right, and knowing when to stay in a conversation and when to walk away. Bryan and Michael also share more insightful personal accounts about when they've seen God's love bring unity to potentially heated political situations. If you enjoyed part one of this episode, get ready for more fantastic truths from God's Word in part two that can help you bring unity when division threatens to take hold. Acts 14 with Lauren Rowe In Acts 14, we see the gospel advance through both belief and opposition as Paul and Barnabas preach boldly despite persecution. As they enter pagan cities, they show us the importance of knowing our audience, identifying the idols people live for, and pointing them to the living God rather than “worthless things.” This passage challenges us to examine our own hearts and ask what we're truly building our lives around—dead things or the living God. Ultimately, Acts 14 calls us to resilient faith, reminding us that following Christ will involve hardship, but He is worth far more than anything we might lose.
God is not dead! How often do we consider that the God we pray to and worship is alive? If He were dead, He couldn't hear us, speak to us, or answer prayers. But every single day, God Almighty hears and answers us! It's amazing how our outlooks change when we lean into that truth. Let's pray to God today and know that He's living and listening.
Daily Dose of Hope February 9, 2026 Scripture: I Corinthians 12 Prayer: Dear God, You are amazing! How awesome it is that you who created all things are also so intimately involved in our lives. We give you glory and praise for who you are. We are so thankful for your love. We want to know you more. We want and need to hear your voice. Help us set aside our scattered thoughts and focus on you. In these next few moments of silence, Lord, hear our prayers... In Your Name, Amen. Welcome back to the Daily Dose of Hope, the devotional and podcast that complements the daily Bible reading plan at New Hope Church in Brandon, Florida. We are journeying through Paul's pastoral letters. Currently, we are in I Corinthians. Today's passage is I Corinthians 12. Paul starts by reminding the believers of their former ignorance. Afterall, there was a time not too long ago that they didn't know about the one true God but worshiped idols. Now, they know Jesus and have the Holy Spirit within them – the Spirit of the Living God inside their physical body! One of the many transformations that happens to us when we accept Jesus as Lord and Savior is that the Holy Spirit gives us a spiritual gift (sometimes even more than one.) A spiritual gift could be seen as a God-given capacity that allows each believer to serve and uplift the body of Christ. And how do you get into this body of Christ? In verses 13-14, Paul writes, For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many. The body of Christ is Jesus' church. The specific word that Paul uses here for gift is charisma, which comes from charis, which is the Greek word for grace. A spiritual gift is a gift of God's grace. It's not something we have earned or developed. But there is a wide diversity of gifts that the Spirit offers, and Paul lists many of these, including the gift of preaching/teaching, prophecy, apostleship, evangelism, and shepherding. There are even more specific gifts under these main headings. But while there is diversity in gifts, there is unity in purpose. The body of Christ requires all these different people with different and unique gifts to be working together to ensure that Jesus' mission continues to be carried out in the world. One gift is not more important than another but they are all essential to have a fully functioning body. The Corinthians knew about the spiritual gifts. This would not been new information to them. But the problem was how they were using the gifts. Certain gifts were being lifted up as more important than others. And there appears to be a bit of a free for all in how the gifts are being used. So, Paul wants them to know a different way. He wants them to understand that all the gifts work together to bring unity to the church. In fact, the church needs all of the gifts to be fruitful and effective. He doesn't want the Corinthians to stop using their spiritual gifts, but he wants them to do so with maturity. And as we will see in the next chapter, he wants the church to use their gifts with love (rather than arrogance or pride.) Do you know what spiritual gifts you have been given? If not, I strongly encourage you to pray about that today. There are some really good spiritual gifts assessments that are free online as well. God has given us gifts for the purpose of building up the body of Christ. If you know your gifts, are you currently making use of them at New Hope or in your local church? There are many parts but one body. Your gifts are needed to form a fully functioning, healthy, thriving community of faith! Blessings, Pastor Vicki

A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways. Elijah challenged the double-minded approach of the Israelites to the things of God. His question was graphic. How long would then limp, lamely, and hesitate between the true God of Israel and Baal? He then proceeded to conduct before their very eyes an extreme experiment, to provide overwhelming evidence to support faith in the Living God.

I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Thursday morning, the 5th of February, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We go to the Book of Daniel 6:20:” …the living God…” Now, who said that? That was the king when he came to the dungeon, where Daniel was put with all those ravenous lions, and they hadn't touched him all night.I've got a beautiful reading I just want to read you from that wonderful man of God, George Müller, the German who got saved in Bristol, England, in a little Bible study and then proceeded to build one of the biggest orphanages in the world. Something like over ten thousand children went through that orphanage, but you know the amazing thing was, he never asked for a penny. He went into his closet and he prayed and Jesus sent the money. I've been to that orphanage, I've seen it with my own eyes. It's not an orphanage anymore, it's a technical college but those beautiful buildings are still standing as a legacy that was left by this man of God.Now this is what he says: "How many times we find this expression in the Scriptures, 'the living God,' and yet it is just this very thing that we are so prone to lose sight of. We know that it is written 'the living God,' but in our daily life there is scarcely anything we practically so much lose sight of as the fact that God is the living God; that He is now whatever He was three or four thousand years ago; that He has the same sovereign power, the same saving love towards those who love and serve Him as ever He had, and that He will do for them now what He did for others two, three, or four thousand years ago, simply because He is the living God, the Unchanging One. Oh, how therefore we should confide in Him and in our darkest moments never lose sight of the fact that He is still and ever will be a living God.”Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day.Goodbye.

What if the lives of the men and women in Scripture seem radical not because they were extraordinary, but because God was truly at the center of everything? In this episode of Tent Talk, Nancy challenges the assumption that biblical faith is reserved for spiritual elites and calls listeners to reconsider what it actually means to live unto Him rather than unto self. She explores the danger of crafting a God in our own image, the subtle seduction of “another Jesus,” and the costly grace that restores proper order between Creator and creature. This conversation presses us beyond admiration into transformation, inviting us to yield fully to the God who reveals Himself—not as we imagine Him, but as He is. Thanks for Listening! Who is Jesus to you? There are so many voices telling us what to think, what to believe, what to do—unending ideas about God and Jesus. Confusing voices. Do you feel confused? Jesus asked His friend, Peter, a simple question in Matthew 16. Maybe He's asking you this same question, He said, “Who do you say that I am?” Peter answered: “You are the Christ, the Savior, the son of the living God.” What about you? Do you believe He is your Savior? Do you believe that He is the Son of the Living God? If your answer is yes, then your next step is so clear. Follow Him. It's simple, come to know Him and discover Him. Always remember, there is hope with God. radio.hopewithgod.com
Welcome to The Daily, where we study the Bible verse by verse, chapter by chapter, every day. Read more about Project23 and partner with us as we teach every verse of the Bible on video. Our text today is 1 Corinthians 2:13. There's a kind of truth you can pick up in a classroom, and then there's the kind you can only receive from the Spirit Himself. Paul makes that distinction in one verse that's easy to skim past but huge in meaning. And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual. — 1 Corinthians 2:13 Paul is saying something simple and weighty: You can't learn spiritual truth without the Spirit who teaches it. Human wisdom can teach: strategies skills principles common sense logic reasoning But it can't teach spiritual reality. You can study Scripture academically and miss its power. You can memorize a verse and miss its voice. You can hear a sermon and miss the Spirit who's speaking. Why? Because what Paul taught wasn't merely information — it was revelation. It wasn't human insight dressed up in religious language. It was truth carried by the Spirit to people awakened by the Spirit. And that changes everything for you today: If the Spirit lives in you, you can understand what the Spirit wrote for you. This is why some verses suddenly come alive. Why conviction hits at the perfect moment. Why Scripture feels personal at times. Why you can sense when something is true—even before you can fully explain why. It's not vibes. It's not intuition. It's not "being deep." It's the Spirit doing what Jesus promised — leading you into truth. So the next time you open the Bible and something clicks. Or you hear teaching that hits differently. Or you sense clarity you didn't have a moment ago. Remember this: That's not you being smart. That's the Spirit being faithful. DO THIS: Before reading Scripture today, pray one sentence: "Spirit, teach me what I can't learn on my own." Then read slowly and notice what stands out. ASK THIS: Have you been trying to understand spiritual truth with human effort alone? What Scripture has the Spirit been highlighting in your life lately? How might your Bible reading change if you expected the Spirit to teach you? PRAY THIS: Holy Spirit, You are the One who teaches truth. Open my mind, soften my heart, and help me understand what You've written for me today. Amen. PLAY THIS: "Spirit of the Living God"
Pastor Matthew Dehnert joins Phil as they kick off a new series breaking down the Fruit of the Spirit!
Today's class is a study of Ephesians 5:21-33. A group of verses that are controversial, often attacked and many times misunderstood. Ephesians 5:21-22 "Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. Wives, [submit] yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord." In the original Greek text the second [submit] word is not there. There is not a verb in this sentence and so in traditional Greek practice, you take the verb from the previous sentence and insert it into the next sentence. Please note that this is really important - because what this is saying is, "Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. Wives, to your husbands as you do to the Lord." Meaning husband and wife alike are to submit to each other, to look out for one another, in service and submission to the Living God. There is no denying that throughout history many men have treated many women shamefully. But that is not biblical. It is never approved. Instead, the Scriptures tell us that God intends for married people to be a unity and to willingly submit to one another because of their reverence for Christ. Men and women are to treat their husbands in a way that is consistent with their faith. Ephesians 5:23 goes on to say, "For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior." Please note the word is "head" not the boss, not the dominant individual. It says he is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church. How does Jesus show He is the head of the church. He seeks what is best for her, He loves her, He sacrifices Himself for her, He gives Himself completely to her. And here it says the husband is to love His wife in that very same way. Loving, caring, supporting, defending, protecting, doing whatever it takes for the woman he loves. Ephesians 5:25 "Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself for her…" That is what submission is all about. It says, because I love the Lord, I will love my wife in the way He loves me. Both husbands and wives are to practice submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ. Ephesians 5:32 goes on to say, "This is a profound mystery — but I am talking about Christ and the church." God designed marriage to be a picture of the kind of love that Jesus has for his body, the church. Marriage is a reflection of Jesus' love. Verse 33 concludes: "However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband." God made us male and female and He knows we each have unique needs. Husbands thrive when their wives respect them. Wives thrive when they know how deeply their husbands love them. These verses are a prescription for a happy, joy-filled, life-long marriage. Now What? “We're above the methods and the tactics that the adversary uses to put us on sides. When it comes to living life, we're all in this together.” In part one of this two-part episode, Jennifer Clesi interviews Rev. Bryan Mittler and Rev. Michael De Quattro on how God's love effectively bridges political division between people. In today's culture, political tension can be especially strong, yet even in heated environments, God's love can make an impact and bring people up to the higher level of unity on His Word. Bryan and Michael break down this concept and show Biblical examples of people who navigated political situations to give others the Word. They also discuss helpful Scriptures that give us the tools we need when working with people, such as being swift to hear and slow to speak (James 1:19). With God as our sufficiency in life, we can look past political divides and give people what they really need—the love of God. Have you ever believed God can… but struggled to trust that He will? Today's Living God's Way Devotional is an invitation into now faith — not surface-level faith, not outcome-based faith, but faith rooted in love and trust in who God is forming you into. These short Saturday devotionals are created with prayer to help draw you back to God, anchor you in truth, and remind you that you don't have to do life alone. You can do this with God. In this devotional, we talk about: What Scripture really means by now faith Why faith without love quietly becomes self-centered The difference between fear-driven faith and love-rooted faith How to trust God in the process, not just for the outcome What it looks like to believe God is working in who you're becoming, not just what you're praying for You'll be reminded that: Faith doesn't deny reality — it sees beyond it Faith doesn't wait for proof — it rests in devotion Faith rooted in love trusts God right now, not "someday" This episode is a pause — a moment to quiet your heart, release control, and choose trust even when the path feels unclear. Scriptures mentioned: Ephesians 3:20 Hebrews 11:1 1 Corinthians 13:2 Galatians 5:6 1 John 4:8 Matthew 9:29 If this devotional spoke to you, it reflects the same heart behind the Fit God's Way 30-Day Transformation — a faith-inspired path that helps you build godly habits so your life reflects who you are in Christ. Hey Everyone this is guy Larry and Thank You for tuning in to another episode of Larry's Biblecast in today's episode I read the whole chapter of the book of Hebrews Chapter 11. In this reading it talks about what the biblical meaning of what Faith is. So many people in our world today have faith in things but it simply means they have put their trust and belief in something for example it maybe a spouse, their career, maybe their own ability to make something happen, some believe in other forms of religions or groups or even the supernatural whether it's UFO's spiritual sightings like ghost as ridiculous as it may sound people put their faith or trust in all sorts of things other than putting their trust and Faith in The True and Living God. “And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.”Hebrews 11:6 NLT. I pray that this episode will encourage you and increase your faith and confidence in The Lord as well as to encourage you to share your faith with others around you. God Bless You All!

In this episode, Pastor Nate gives the second teaching from The Church Imagined series. This series explores the various facets of church as it is described through various illustrations in the New Testament. This week, we explore one of those powerful images of the Church: the Temple of the Living God. Drawing from 1 Corinthians 3, Ephesians 2, and 1 Peter 2, the sermon reminds us that the holy temple of God is not a building or a place, but a people in whom God's very presence now dwells through the Holy Spirit.By tracing the purpose of the Old Testament temple (God's desire to dwell with His people) we see how Jesus fulfills everything the temple pointed toward. Through the work of Jesus Christ and the gift of the Holy Spirit, God now makes His home in and among His people. Together, we are being built by God himself into a holy dwelling place for His glory. The teaching then calls the church to live out this identity with purpose: holiness, as a people set apart for God; worship, not just through songs but through lives offered as living sacrifices; and hospitality, as a house of prayer for all peoples, welcoming the world without compromising the truth of the gospel. This teaching invites us to see ourselves and one another with fresh eyes as the Holy Temple of the Living God, called to reflect His presence, His purity, and His love to the world.
Some years back, we gave a talk called "Can Atheist Be Spiritual?" (alas its gone now since the YouTube ban of 2025!) Anyway, there, I presented some non-theistic traditions like Advaita Vedanta, Buddhism, Jainism and of course, Sāmkhya to show how Indian spirituality is inclusive to all spiritual dispositions. i.e: you don't have to believe in "God" to make spiritual progress! In that talk, we also pointed out how the atheistic position is important for theists too since we must first reject the God of dogma, i.e the God of Religion, before we can move towards the God of Realization, the Living God. Now, a few years later, in this talk, we take a slightly different approach: understanding that the bhūpura is as much the cakra as the Bindu, I try to construct a non-dual, spiritually edifying view using the basic premises of scientific materialism. My claim here is that if we are to be honest materialists, we would be fully realized actually since this too, is a valid way like any other for realizing Mā!Support the showLectures happen live every Monday at 7pm PST and again at Friday 11am PST Use this link and I will see you there:https://www.zoom.us/j/7028380815For more videos, guided meditations and instruction and for access to our lecture library, visit me at:https://www.patreon.com/yogawithnishTo get in on the discussion and access various spiritual materials, join our Discord here: https://discord.gg/U8zKP8yMrM
Daily Dose of Hope January 9, 2026 Scripture: Galatians 5 Today, we will start with the Holy Spirit prayer by Saint Augustine, who lived in the fourth century. I find it incredibly powerful and I hope you do as well: Breathe in me, O Holy Spirit, That my thoughts may all be holy. Act in me, O Holy Spirit, That my work, too, may be holy. Draw my heart, O Holy Spirit, That I love but what is holy. Strengthen me, O Holy Spirit, To defend all that is holy. Guard me, then, O Holy Spirit, That I always may be holy. Welcome back to the Daily Dose of Hope, the devotional and podcast that complements the New Hope daily Bible reading plan. We are almost done with the first week of our new reading plan, Journey into the Letters of Paul, during which we will walk through Paul's letters chronologically. With a few exceptions, many of these letters are kind of short, with 5-6 chapters. What you will find is that we will go through these fairly quickly and it's possible they might run together for you. I would suggest you keep some notes. What are you learning from each letter? What are the main themes and what are your big takeaways from the reading? Since we are just in Galatians, Paul's first letter, this is a good time to think about this. Okay, so today we read Galatians 5. Here we see the theme of freedom from the law once again. Paul is emphasizing that in Christ, we have freedom. Under the law, we live in bondage. He is imploring the Galatians to live as free people, true heirs of God, experiencing the fullness of life that comes knowing you belong to Jesus Christ. There is a lot of focus on circumcision here. That may seem odd to us, as circumcision just isn't that big a deal in our world. Individual parents make a decision based on a lot of different factors whether to circumcise their boys. Paul has some harsh words for the Galatians about circumcision, and it almost seems like he is condemning it. Verses 2-3 are harsh, Mark my words! I, Paul, tell you that if you let yourselves be circumcised, Christ will be of no value to you at all. Again I declare to every man who lets himself be circumcised that he is obligated to obey the whole law. Let's dig a little deeper. Jesus himself was circumcised. Paul had Timothy circumcised before taking him on a missionary journey to make it easier to witness to the Jews. So what is up with this? I'm thinking motive and intention is the answer. Let me explain. Before Jesus, circumcision was the sign of the covenant that the Jewish people had with God. It functioned sort of like a key that granted entry into the household of God. But after Jesus came, the house of God is entered through Jesus Christ himself. Those who follow him no longer need the old key. The Jews may still hold onto the key physically, but it is no longer the means of entry. The sign of the new covenant is baptism. But even baptism isn't a requirement for salvation, only belief in Jesus. Some of us may have chosen to circumcise our children. But what was our motive or intention? When I had my boys circumcised as babies, it had nothing to do with their salvation. I wasn't thinking about following Jewish law. Rather, I was thinking more about health issues or going with the recommendation of my pediatrician. But if I had done it because I thought it would make my child or myself more acceptable to God or somehow make me more righteous, then that would be a terribly wrong motive. Furthermore, if I thought that my boys could only associate with other circumcised boys because they are more acceptable in God's eyes, then I would really be wrong. I think you get the point and I believe that is what Paul is saying too. Christ has freed us from these laws that separate us from others. It's our heart that God cares about and as we move further into Paul's letters, we will find he begins to speak of a circumcision of the heart. That's what we need! Paul speaks to how easy it is to slip back into a life of bondage. Others use their freedom to engage in sin. Paul is stating that neither is acceptable. True Christian freedom manifests itself in obedience, self-control, and love. Just as Christ sets us free, Paul says that it is the continuing work of the Holy Spirit in our lives that sanctifies us, allows us to better reflect Jesus. When the Holy Spirit comes and makes a home within us, it begins to transform us from the inside out. We cannot stay the same people once the Spirit of the Living God is within us. There should be fruit that demonstrates our new nature. That fruit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Reflect on the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. How well do you exemplify these attributes in your own life? Are some easier than others for you? Something I find interesting about these is that they are "fruit" of the Spirit, not "fruits." God intends for us to live out each of these, not just some of them. If we are very kind people but we lack self-control, then we need to spend time in prayer and ask God to help us with our self-control and then be intentional about working on that trait. If we struggle with patience, then we do the same thing. Friends, we have the Spirit of God living within us and that is powerful and transformative. Spend some time today praying about the transforming power of the Holy Spirit in your life. Blessings, Pastor Vicki

Andrew kicked off the new year challenging us to live in God's will in 2026 by following some simple steps.
Are you stepping into 2026 craving a reset—but unsure what habits, rhythms, or goals actually matter? In this powerful New Year conversation, Heidi sits down with Bible teacher and author Elizabeth Woodson to talk about the lies that shape us, the habits that form us, and the gospel-centered rhythms that lead to true peace, wholeness, and abundance. Together, they unpack: Why so many of us feel spiritually empty, divided in heart, or unfulfilled The subtle ways culture disciples us more than Jesus The “false stories” we follow without even realizing it The gospel habits that resist cultural pressure and bring real transformation How to choose goals, rhythms, and even a “word of the year” with intention Practical ways to build a life of shalom — where everything is as it ought to be If you're longing for a year shaped by truth instead of trends, this episode will help you start small, stay faithful, and step into the freedom God offers.
The story of Jonah confronts us with an uncomfortable truth: we can know God deeply, serve Him faithfully, and still resist His call when it challenges our comfort or contradicts our prejudices. This message unpacks the tension between obedience and disobedience, revealing how Jonah—a prophet who knew God's character intimately—ran in the opposite direction when commanded to bring mercy to Nineveh, Israel's brutal enemy. We discover that Jonah's problem wasn't confusion about God's command; it was his inability to see God's goodness extending to people he deemed unworthy. The powerful question emerges: where are we choosing control over trust? What commands are we resisting because we don't see the benefit? The transformative insight here is that our disobedience doesn't just affect us—it costs others the opportunity to experience God's mercy. When we do things God's way, even uncomfortable things, we participate in results that transform entire cities. But when we cherry-pick which parts of God's mission we'll embrace, we shouldn't be surprised when we get human results instead of divine ones. This message challenges us to examine whether we're obeying God externally while resisting Him internally, and whether we've made God's grace selective rather than universal.

Lovingly affirm:"I am immersed in the flame-The flame of time,The flame of love,The flame of life. The universal fire flows through me."*The Living God is appearing as you and every seeming thing. I feel Light(er) when you get this. And you're getting this. I Love you, nik"Everything exposed to the light itself becomes light" (Ephesians 5:13). In prayer, we merely keep returning the divine gaze and we become its reflection, almost in spite of ourselves (2 Corinthians 3:18). The word prayer has often been trivialized by making it into a way of getting what we want. But I use prayer as the umbrella word for any interior journeys or practices that allow us to experience faith, hope, and love within ourselves. It is not a technique for getting things, a pious exercise that somehow makes God happy, or a requirement for entry into heaven. It is much more like practicing heaven now.+Adapted from The Naked Now: Learning to Seeas the Mystics See, pp. 22-23."Live for a few days in the meditation,"I am immersed in the flame-The flame of time, The flame of love, The flame of life. The universal fire flows through me."Step into that fire. wholeheartedly,Starting with the big toe,Then, surrendering everywhere.Only the not-self,Which doesn't exist anyway,Burns away.Attend to this continually And awaken into tranquility.Your essence is renewed in the flame, For it is flame and knows itself as flame Since the first heartbeat of creation.Imagine the entire world consumed by flame.Stay steady, do not waver,As fire transmutes form into light. The soul reveals itself."To itself as Radiance.- the Radiance Sutras
