By the Sea of Galilee, Jesus meets His disciples once again, not with condemnation, but with grace. He restores Peter after his greatest failure and calls him to a renewed purpose: 'Feed My sheep.' This story reminds us that no failure is final with God. When we fall short, Jesus meets us where we are, restores us in love, and calls us to follow Him with purpose.

Emotions can be difficult to navigate and cloud our best judgments. At the same time, we know that God created us as emotional beings. In our series Mixed Emotions, we'll be looking at roadmaps in Scripture of how to follow God in the midst of emotional highs and lows, starting off with shame. Shame is something that most people carry, but never learn to fully bring up to God. The Apostle Peter was similarly familiar with the experience of failure and shame, and yet we see God restore him in John 21. Come check out Week 1 of Mixed Emotions as we look at how God wants to inform and heal our shame and help us live for Him.

If you have ever felt like you have failed Jesus then you are in good company. All of us at some point in our lives let Jesus down. Satan uses those moments to shame us and make us think we are unworthy of God’s love. At times you may feel like your relationship with Jesus is sprained or broken. In today’s passage we are encouraged to know that Jesus never fails us, even when we fail Him. Sermon Outline @ http://bible.com/events/49014743

Seasons of doubt are a normal part of walking with Jesus. Even His disciples doubted. What we do after those seasons of doubt is crucial. In this sermon, Pastor Derek Holmes looks at Jesus' forgiveness of Peter in John 21 to see how Jesus lovingly redeems and restores us in our seasons of doubt and denial.

This week we are focused on the story of the 3rd post-resurrection appearance of Jesus to the disciples including Peter, James, and John. But this is really Peter's moment and Follow Me. It is one of the most dramatic of the post-Resurrection appearances.
