Turn with me today to Luke 1:5-25. We have begun our Christmas series early this year to give ourselves time to work through the entire Christmas story as given to Luke. Today is our second of six messages, bringing us to 1:5-25.
Welcome to our Sunday morning worship service. Today Minister Jane Otto is preaching on Luke 1:5-25, “Waiting – What to do in the Midst of....” We are going to learn what we are to be doing while we wait on God from the example of Zechariah and Elizabeth, the parents of John the Baptist. Be sure to download the Worship Guide by clicking “Download PDF.” The guide will open in a new window where you may print it or save it to your computer.

God always answers prayer
"Now while Zechariah was serving as priest before God when his division was on duty, according to the custom of the priesthood, he was chosen by lot to enter the temple of the Lord and burn incense. And the whole multitude of the people were praying outside at the hour of incense. And there appeared to him an angel of the Lord standing on the right side of the altar of incense.... “I am Gabriel. I stand in the presence of God, and I was sent to speak to you and to bring you this good news." Luke 1 v8-11 & 19
