If you've been feeling discouraged about your blog traffic lately, you're not alone. In this episode of Creatives on Fire, I'm pulling back the curtain on what's really happening with blog traffic in 2025—and giving you five smart strategies to take back control. https://creativesonfirepodcast.com/episode197 How to Get More Blog Traffic I was originally going to cover a different topic this week, but after hearing so many creators talk about low traffic, broken platforms, and general burnout, I had to hit pause and share what I've personally been working through—and how I'm turning it around. Let's talk about what matters, what doesn't, and what you can actually do to get your blog traffic moving again. First: Don't Fall for the Comparison Game It's easy to feel lost when all the voices around you are saying different things. Google is broken, Pinterest is dead, Facebook is hiding links—it's enough to make any blogger feel like giving up. But the truth is, numbers don't lie. So that's where I went—to my Google Analytics. When I compared my year-to-date stats from 2024 to 2025, here's what I found: Sessions were down 20% Pageviews were down a shocking 50% Ouch. That was a wake-up call. But it also gave me clarity. Sessions are mostly out of my control. Pageviews? That's on me. Sessions vs. Pageviews: What's the Difference? If you're not familiar with these terms: Sessions = Visitors arriving at your site (they showed up to the dance) Pageviews = The number of pages they visited (how many people they danced with) So while platforms control a lot of traffic volume (sessions), you control what happens once people land on your site. That's where the pageviews come in—and that's where you can make a huge impact. How to Improve Your Blog's Page Speed Before diving into pageview tactics, I looked at what I could do to improve page speed, which still plays a huge role in search and user experience. Here's what I did: Audited my plugins to remove outdated or unnecessary tools Replaced and optimized my image compression plugin (I now use ShortPixel, which found 1,200 images that needed more compression) Even small improvements to your blog's speed can help platforms like Google and Pinterest want to send more traffic your way. 5 Smart Strategies to Increase Blog Pageviews Once I optimized the tech side, I moved on to what I could do to increase pageviews—the number that is in our control. These five strategies are what I'm actively working on now. 1. Restructure Your Blog for Simpler Navigation When readers land on your homepage or a post, can they immediately tell what you're about and where to go next? Clear navigation, especially with buttons that lead to categories (like “See All Crafts” or “Browse Recipes”), is key. 2. Connect Your Orphan Posts Go find the blog posts that aren't linked to anything else—SEO tools like Ahrefs can help. Either delete them if they don't align with your brand, or link them meaningfully into related content to keep readers clicking. 3. Add Prompts to Explore More Think: “See all fall posts” or “Get more lemon dessert ideas.” Use bold call-to-action buttons early in your post to send them to your category or roundup pages. The more paths they can follow, the more pageviews you'll get. 4. Include a ‘Start Here' Block Toward the top of your post, include a reusable block that says “New here? Start here.” Link it to a curated welcome page with your top categories, opt-ins, and reader favorites. Help new visitors instantly know how to explore. 5. Introduce a Weekly or Ongoing Series Give readers a reason to keep coming back. It could be: A 5-week project like “5 Weeks to a Porch Makeover” A two-part post (before & after) A weekly roundup of your own posts, styled for Pinterest or seasonal trends You could even turn your weekly content into a newsletter hook: “Get this week's top DIYs straight to your inbox!” The Bottom Line: Don't Panic—Make a Plan If traffic is down, take a deep breath. Stop listening to the noise and go check your own analytics. Is it sessions? Pageviews? Once you know, you can act. And that's powerful. Because blogging isn't dead—but it is evolving. And it's our job to evolve with it. Give your blog a tune-up. Guide your readers more clearly. And most importantly, keep showing up consistently. Until next time, stay creative. Smart Agency Masterclass with Jason Swenk: Podcast for Digital Marketing Agencies
I've been paying an agency to run our Meta ads and for some time Meta itself has been reaching out to take over the account. Let that sink in. The same platform your agency relies on is actively trying to cut you out of the picture. The worst part? This is just one example of a much bigger shift. Big tech is building tools that create entire campaigns—copy, design, video, testing—without a human in sight. Your strategist? Replaced. Designer? Replaced. Copywriter? Gone. I get it. It's a hard pill to swallow, but it isn't necessarily the end of agencies. It's just the end of the ones that built their model on tasks. So what's the future for agencies? Agencies Built on Tasks Are Already Obsolete Let's get real: if you're still selling deliverables, your agency's already falling behind. What AI can't replicate is leadership. At the end of the day clients want results and direction. Smart agencies are not selling tasks anymore. They're selling thinking. Here's how they're staying ahead: 1. Productize the Thinking, Not the Task Most agencies sell what they do – SEO, ad management – Clients don't care that you “run Facebook ads.” They want results. Instead of saying “We run ads for local businesses,” say “We help local gyms get 100 leads in 30 days with a proven 3-step system.” You just went from vendor to strategic partner that sell a system that scales. Productizing your thinking means turning your knowledge into a framework. When you package your thinking and your strategy as something like “The 30-Day Lead Domination System” or “The 5-Step Authority Engine” your expertise becomes a product. That's what scales. 2. Sell Speed and Certainty Speed is an agency superpower. Most clients aren't losing to competitors—they're drowning in indecision. They don't need more options—they need momentum. So skip the six-week strategy plan. Instead of saying “We'll optimize your funnel,” offer quick wins: “We'll launch your highest-converting offer by Friday.” Certainty is what closes deals. Clarity is what makes them stick. 3. Own Your Niche Generic is dead. The riches are still in the niches. Solve a very specific problem for a very specific group of people. The more specific your promise, the more profitable your agency will become. 4. Use AI—But Don't Compete With It Don't just talk about AI—implement it. Show your clients how to use AI to streamline workflows, automate leads, and improve reporting. Become the AI Sherpa, not the tool. If you're not guiding your clients through AI, someone else will. 5. Build Client Community Want to be irreplaceable? Connect your clients to each other. Host virtual meetups. Build a mastermind. Facilitate introductions. Create spaces for idea-sharing. AI will never replace real human connection—and your clients are craving it. We've seen this firsthand with the agency mastermind: community is the real secret weapon. 6. Be the Guide, Not the Gun Execution is cheap. Clarity is priceless. AI will never replace someone who can build leads. Be the one who filters the noise. Be the coach. Once you step into that role, I can promise you your value will skyrocket. So, Did Zuck Kill the Agency Model? Not Even Close. He didn't kill it—he evolved it. The agencies that lead, think, and adapt will be the ones that thrive. Those that keep selling tasks will get replaced. Agency Mastermind Still feel like you're winging it? You're not alone. Most agency owners hit a plateau because they're stuck in the business, buried in decisions, and disconnected from people who get it. The agencies killing it and scaling faster found out they needed to be in the right room. Episode Title: GPTs Replaced Endless File SearchingShow Notes:In this episode of the B2B Marketing Excellence & AI Podcast, I talk about a common frustration — when your computer crashes and you're forced to transfer everything. That happened to me recently, and instead of just moving over cluttered files, I decided to create a better system.I used this opportunity to build personalized GPTs (Generative Pretrained Transformers) inside ChatGPT to help me organize information so I could stop digging through folders, spreadsheets, and emails. Now, instead of asking “Where did I save that?” — I just ask my GPT.These GPTs have become my go-to system for locating key client information, marketing materials, podcast outlines, and internal resources — all in seconds. If you're overwhelmed by digital disorganization or tired of repeating the same searches, this episode will show you how to use AI to create a centralized, accessible, and reliable system for storing and retrieving information. You'll learn:Why I decided not to keep transferring messy files across computersHow GPTs help organize and recall key information instantlyReal-world examples of how I use GPTs to support client work and daily operationsSimple ways to get started creating your own GPT-based document systemAt World Innovators, we're all about helping B2B brands and Executives find smarter ways to reach the right audience — and that starts with staying organized internally. Rather than apple pie, addiction might be defining quality of 21st century American life. That, at least, is the view of Mattea Kramer, author of Untended, a contemporary novel about addiction in small town America. She argues that individualistic American capitalism has caused an plague of addiction - in everything from drugs and alcohol to technology and egoism. Kramer sees community as the only real antidote to this epidemic. She connects addiction to broader social issues like economic exploitation and discusses how small-town America has been ravaged by this epidemic and by what she calls “late-stage capitalism”. So how to address this epidemic of addiction in contemporary America? Kramer has no simple fix, but emphasizes the importance of recognizing the humanity in those struggling with addiction and suggests that moral agency and human connection offer hope amid these challenges. Five Key Takeaways * American individualism and capitalism create fertile ground for addiction by fostering isolation and disconnection, leading people to seek substances or behaviors that fill this void.* Addiction extends beyond substances to include work, devices, shopping, and even the pursuit of feeling "special and successful," which Kramer identifies as her family's particular "quintessentially American" addiction.* The opioid crisis has created intergenerational trauma as children are left "untended" when parents struggle with addiction, perpetuating cycles of harm.* Stigma surrounding addiction makes recovery more difficult, especially for parents who face amplified shame that prevents them from seeking help.* Kramer believes reconnecting with our shared humanity and exercising moral agency through compassion offer the best path forward amid societal challenges, rather than focusing solely on individual willpower.Mattea Kramer is an American writer. She writes about drugs, power and powerlessness, and the voice in your head. She's been published in The Guardian, The Nation, Mother Jones, Guernica, and The Washington Post, and she has appeared on MSNBC and on radio stations across the country. Her first novel The Untended has just been published.Named as one of the "100 most connected men" by GQ magazine, Andrew Keen is amongst the world's best known broadcasters and commentators. Gregg Braden, scientist, spiritual thinker, and bestselling author of Pure Human, joins the show to break one of the biggest modern myths: that we're broken, and only technology can fix us. From his Cold War engineering background to decades studying ancient cultures, Gregg connects the dots between biology, spirituality, and personal power in a way that's both grounded and radical. In the modern West, the hearth has gone cold. The fires that once knit family and village together have been replaced with a different flame—the flickering blue light of the screen. John Michell warned of this in his strange, luminous writings. He saw how the displacement of the hearth led to the displacement of meaning. No longer do we gather around a living fire, telling the old stories, hearing the wisdom passed down in hushed voices. No—we huddle instead around the electric glow of mass-produced stories, sold to us by the same companies who profit from our outrage, our fear, our endless hunger for novelty.Michell said it plainly: once the hearth was the link between heaven and earth. Now, that chain has rusted. The fire we stare into now is cold, sterile, dead. The folk tales are gone. The folk songs are gone. Replaced by noise. And it matters. God help us, it matters. Because without the old songs, without the old myths, without the fire that once drew our gazes upward and outward toward wonder, we become small. Smaller than we were meant to be. Easily led. Easily frightened. Easily bought. It is a short step from forgetting your own songs to singing the songs of your conquerors. And so here we are: divided, outraged, distracted. The paradise of the rich, Victor Hugo said, is built out of the hell of the poor. And our masters know it. They fuel it. They love it. They need it.And we go on, applauding them, fighting each other, shouting ourselves hoarse over scraps. We have forgotten who we are. Forgotten the hearth. Forgotten the brotherhood. Forgotten the great chain that links heaven to earth, earth to hearth, hearth to heart. And unless we remember, unless we kneel, as T.S. Eliot said—not kneel before flags or corporations or the endless cult of Self, but kneel before the living God—unless we kneel, we will continue to slouch. To spectate. To slip away into silence...

My book (yep, it's a USA Today Best Seller!) breaks down exactly how to get there: https://hayhs.com/u_pp_hc_az From Welfare to 8 Figures | Hay House Author | Marketing Strategist | Mom of 3 ❤️ —------------------------------ Hi, I'm Rachel Pedersen. Some people call me the Queen of Social Media... but I didn't start there. My story isn't a straight line. It's a rollercoaster filled with mistakes, lessons, wins, and growth. Here's a little bit of the backstory: 2010: Became a mom at 21. Unplanned, unprepared, but determined. 2011: Became an alcoholic single mom on welfare. Rock bottom? Pretty much. 2012: Enrolled in hair school to turn my life around. Graduated with 5 job offers from the top salons in my city. 2013: Landed a job at a top salon. It felt like the start of something new. 2014: Met my husband. Married him 13 days later (yep, 13 days). 2015: We had another baby and both changed careers. Life kept evolving. 2016: Got my first real social media management client, got sober, and went viral—all in the same year. 2017: Replaced my 9-5 income, resigned, and retired my husband too. Freedom tasted good. 2018: Crossed $1,000,000 in my business and welcomed baby #3. Growth in business and family. 2019: Built a second business to $1,000,000. Turns out lightning can strike twice. 2020: Hired my dream team and scaled both businesses to 7 figures. Leadership became my new obsession. 2021: Landed a dream book deal with Hay House and gave a TEDx Talk. A surreal “pinch me” year. 2022: Hit a wall. Complete mental breakdown. Diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Faced my trauma, did the hard healing work, and came out stronger. 2023: Began writing fiction books with my husband - and testing out more creative marketing campaigns. Went mega-viral multiple times, too! 2024: Started our consulting company, Pelanora, and scaled some pretty cool businesses. 2025: About to be the most exciting year yet! In the second installment of our interview, Frank Stoddard gives us an unfiltered, no-holds-barred, take-no-prisoners, damn the torpedoes, full steam ahead, INSIDE look at how his time as Jeff Burton's Roush Racing crew chief came to an inglorious end. We then take a look inside the March 7, 1996 issue of Winston Cup Scene. Jeff Gordon wins on a COLD weekend in Richmond, while Jack Roush isn't satisfied with his organization's results … and just wait until you hear WHERE his teams' drivers finished. It's SO cold … heck freezes over and NASCAR doesn't penalize three of the top-five finishers. AND … there's SOME reaction to an incident the previous week between Dale Earnhardt and Bobby Hamilton at Rockingham. This high school football coach grew a real estate side hustle over the past four years that now replaces his W2 income. He did it making a median salary, all while working his full-time job and raising his family. He didn't use flashy methods, risky strategies, or constant cold calling. Starting with around $30,000, Lamontis Gardner went from zero to 19 rental units in just four years and is STILL growing! After pandemic lockdowns left Lamontis with extra time and little work, he knew he needed to stop solely relying on his W2 income to fuel his life. Of course, Rich Dad Poor Dad found its way into his hands, and the real estate bug began. From there, Lamontis turned a lost deal into an opportunity to buy three duplexes from one owner. The problem? He only had a third of the money. It was time to partner up! After a home run first real estate deal that gave him a six-figure equity upside, Lamontis knew this was the path for him. Since then, he's been buying rentals, flipping houses, and doing whatever he can to reinvest in real estate, all while working his W2 job. Now, he's replaced his W2 income but is STILL growing his portfolio even in 2025's high-rate, “tough” housing market. Want to do the same? Copy Lamontis's strategy! In This Episode We Cover How to invest in real estate when you don't have enough money for a down payment Why you DON'T need to cold call in order to find great off-market real estate deals The easiest (and most profitable) homes to flip that ANYONE can find on-market Why section 8 rentals are not what you think (and might be as good or better than regular rentals) When to flip vs. renovate and rent a house (telltale signs of a great flip/bad rental) How Lamontis scaled to 19 rentals and multiple flips per year WITHOUT a big team And So Much More!
