The latest AFTN Soccer Show is out and it's a bumper packed episode this time around. Our feature interview this week is with Alan Koch, as we look back at his career from SFU Clan to Colorado Springs Switchbacks and the stops at Vancouver Whitecaps 2 and FC Cincinnati along the way. We look back at the highs and lows, the project currently ahead of him, and what the future could hold in store. We also have a chat with the Whitecaps player we haven't been able to see play yet, Serbian centre back Ranko Veselinović. We talk to Ranko about his move to MLS, suddenly finding himself in lockdown, his career so far, and his desire to make his current loan deal a permanent move. Plus we hear from Whitecaps sporting director Axel Schuster about Yordy Reyna and Jasser Khmiri's lockdown breach and when the 'Caps players may be back on the pitch, and we jump on a call with Sporting KC President and CEO Jake Reid about getting MLS back to playing and what that might look like. We also have the latest news from North America and around the world as football's shutdown continues, but a couple of leagues return, bring you our latest FK Slutsk update, and chat about our newly discovered love of the Faroe Islands Premier League. Well that's been a week we're glad is over. A difficult one for Vancouver Whitecaps off the pitch, and a mixed one on it. We're focussing on the footballing aspects of it all in the latest AFTN Soccer Show, as we look back at the match that was the 1-1 draw between the 'Caps and FC Dallas on Saturday. A good result considering all the line-up issues and uncertainty? We discuss that, who stood out, who didn't, the goals, the talking points, and more, plus we hear from Brek Shea [at 31:11] about the whirlwind Saturday he had. We also hear from the Dallas side from defenders Matt Hedges and Atiba Harris [40:40] who talk about the match, and former Whitecap Harris chats a little bit about the new football club he's setting up in his native St Kitts and Nevis. It's going to be a busy week for the 'Caps at all levels. Minnesota is next up for the MLS team, and we preview what that might look like [49:00], before turning our attention the Residency teams who head to the USSDA playoffs this week. We chat with experienced defender Pa Modou Kah [60:13], who's in charge of the U18 team this week, about his transition to coaching and the playoffs ahead, plus we hear from WFC2 head coach Rich Fagan [67:46], about what help his squad may provide for the team. Turning our attentions down south, it was quite the week for former WFC2 and SFU Clan head coach Alan Koch, whose FC Cincinnati side beat MLS opposition in the US Open Cup and revealed their new stadium proposals, with an eye firmly on making the jump to Major League Soccer. We chat with Alan [73:49] about all that, his time with the 'Caps and SFU, and lots more. And there's still time to chat about IFAB's new proposed rule changes to the game [92:46] and Half Man Half Biscuit feature again in this week's Wavelength section. [109:01] The AFTN Soccer Show is brought to you in partnership with BCsoccerweb.com, your one stop site for all your BC, Canadian, and North American soccer news and links. Have a listen!

It's the most wonderful time, of the year. Vancouver Whitecaps preseason camp is open. That means the new MLS season isn't too far away (CBA pending!) and it's a time we genuinely love here at AFTN. You get far more interesting stories and narratives as veterans return, new signings show what they've got and draft picks and trialists want to show that they belong and have a place in the squad. New faces are everywhere and we have exclusive chats with a lot of them on this episode of "There's Still Time, the AFTN podcast, and discussions about the rest. The center back stable has been the biggest roster readjustment of this offseason, we talk to one of the three new additions, MLS SuperDraft selection Tim Parker, about settling in to MLS and Vancouver, what he hopes to achieve this season and what he needs to do to impress Carl Robinson. Vancouver's second round draft pick was forward Kay Banjo. Described by Robinson as a "project", we talk to Kay about making the step up to MLS, his college career and what he can bring to the Whitecaps. The Whitecaps kept it local with their next SuperDraft pick, BC boy and SFU Clan forward Jovan Blagojevic. We chat with Jovan on the day of his selection as his childhood dreams of becoming a professional footballer has been realised. Another local lad joining the MLS fold is Residency alumni Ben McKendry. Ben's new homegrown contract was announced on Monday and we caught up with the midfielder after his first training session as a professional footballer to talk about leaving college early to make the move to MLS, his footballing journey so far, and much more. We also hear coach Carl Robinson's thoughts on his new homegrown signing. And there's still time to catch up with a wily veteran, birthday boy Jordan Harvey, fresh from an ice bath. He tells us about the pleasures and pitfalls of having a birthday during football season! Have a listen!
