At House of Shine, we believe everyone has a dream worth planting—and in this episode, we hear one of the most inspiring yet. Santi, a high school senior at Jesuit Dallas, returns to the podcast to share how a dream he planted at our museum—a dream to build a permanent soccer league for underserved kids in Grapevine—is steadily coming to life. What began with a Change Bowl grant and a simple idea for a one-day soccer camp has grown into a full-blown youth league known as Soccer with Santi. Through creativity, grit, and collaboration, Santi has brought together community volunteers, corporate partners like FC Dallas, and even a local graphic designer to help create something far greater than just a game. His dream? To now build a permanent soccer field right in front of the kids' apartment complex—giving them a safe, consistent space to play, belong, and shine. This episode is the perfect kickoff to our Dream Initiative series, which showcases everyday dreamers who are rolling up their sleeves and turning their passions into real-world impact. Santi's story reminds us that dreams aren't just wishful thinking—they're blueprints for building a better tomorrow. Key Topics: The origin story of Soccer with Santi Why access to team sports creates confidence, identity, and inclusion What it takes to turn a dream into a sustainable community program How House of Shine helped Santi discover his “do” and empowered his “share” The power of competition, accountability, and gratitude in leadership What it means to plant a dream—and invite others to help it grow Tune in and be inspired to dust off your own dream, plant it in our International Dream Garden, and begin the journey to share it with the world

Season 6 kicks off with the Living Leadership Interview. In the segment, I was lucky to sit down with Marco Ferruzzi to discuss his leadership philosophy and how he sees it playing out in his day-to-day. Marco is the Sporting Director for San Antonio Futbol Club (SAFC) and is also the parent of a Trinity sport management alumna! He is a San Antonio native and after graduating from Keystone High School, we attended the University of North Carolina to play soccer. After a long professional playing career, Marco obtained his USSF coaching 'A' license and got the opportunity to join the coaching staff at FC Dallas. After two decades in Dallas, Marco came home to San Antonio to assume his current role with SAFC in November 2023. During our conversation, he highlights the importance of mentors and how leaders (mentors) have the vision to support followers and to help them recognize gifts they might not even see that they possess. Marco talks at length about why it's important for leaders to be great listeners, to have a clear vision, and create inclusive environments in which employees feel safe to make mistakes and be innovative. Listen for how Marco talks about emergent leadership and how people can BE leaders even without the title. After my conversation with Marco, I lecture on chapter 1 of Peter G. Northouse's "Leadership: Theory and Practice." General concepts of leadership are discussed, the term is defined, and there's a special focus on the connection between leadership and power. Send me your thoughts and let's keep the conversation going on Twitter / X (@TingleJK) or on LinkedIn.

A slightly different feel to the Agenda this week for a couple reasons. The big one being we're leading with our interview this time around. How could we not when it's Da Boy on the guest list. Sebastian Lletget joins the Agenda for the first time this season to talk a myriad of topics, including (somehow) a potential new nickname for Dallas' erstwhile midfield statesman. Then the main Agenda gets rolling with a substitution, as the FC Dallas insider Garrett Melcer was a late scratch due to illness. That means Ryan, Steve, and producer Sam take up the mics this week to talk about the Burn's revolving door in midfield, why it has/hasn't worked, and what they think might be the best practice going forward for the Toros in the pitch's center. It's game preview time after that and what a game is coming to Toyota Stadium. LAFC makes their only scheduled stop in Frisco Saturday featuring newly signed star Son Heung-Min. The lads talk about the impact Korea's top athlete will have in his first Frisco trip while also touching on a low key stellar MLS matchup that fans will see between the lines.0:54 Sebastian Lletget interview19:45: FC Dallas' 2025 midfield: A review53:12 Son Heung-Min/LAFC come to FriscoThe FC Dallas Agenda publishes (almost) every Wednesday as a part of the FC Dallas Radio Network.
