2020 NFL Draft Prospect, Safety out of Eastern Washington University, Dehonta Hayes joins the show to talk about his experiences throughout the past few months preparing for his pro-day, the numbers that Hayes recorded would put him near the top of the list in all categories compared to safeties that were at the NFL Scouting combine (40: 4.44, Shuttle: 4.09, L-Drill, 6.73, Vertical: 39.5in., Broad Jump: 10ft, 11in., Bench: 16 reps). Hayes has been the starting strong-safety for the past two seasons for the EWU Eagles. In July of 2019, Hayes & a teammate found themselves in the "wrong place at the wrong time" as they both suffered gunshot wounds. Hayes was shot in the neck but somehow found a way to recover and three weeks later was participating in the teams first practice of the year and would go on to lead the Eagles of Eastern Washington with 115 tackles to go along with 2 interceptions. Former Fort Valley State University Wildcats standout pass-rusher, Demetrius Harris joins the show to talk about his decision to leave college early and take his talents north of the boarder with the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League. Last season, Harris was named the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year as he totaled 19.5 TFLs, 13.5 sacks, 6 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries and 1 touchdown. The former Wildcats DE was viewed as one of the top Division II prospects in the country and looks to eventually take the "Cam Wake route" to the National Football League after spending time in the CFL. Interest is already brewing as the Buffalo Bills and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were among teams that requested for Harris to participate in Georgia Tech's -Junior- pro-day last month. 2020 NFL Draft Prospect, Safety out of Edinboro University, Brandon Anderson joins the show to talk about what the past 3-4 months have consisted of for him as he prepares for the NFL Draft, he's been training at one of the top pro-day/combine preparation facilities in Chip Smith Performance in Georgia. Anderson was supposed to participate in the Temple pro-day on March 16th but due to the COVID-19 pandemic it was cancelled. Nonetheless, Anderson tells me that he's been putting up the following #s consistently in training (H/W- 6'1, 210lbs. Forty- 4.5, Shuttle: 4.15-4.19, L-drill- 6.81-6.84, Vertical- 35in, Broad jump- 9ft 6in., Bench- 20 reps of 225lbs.). A 4-year starter for the Edinboro Fighting Scotts, Brandon Anderson quickly became one of the best safeties in Division II Football. He's averaged almost 100 tackles per season and as a senior he recorded a career high 4 interceptions and was named to the D2 All American team. 2020 NFL Draft Prospect, All-American TE out of Lindenwood University, Erik Henneman joins the show to talk about how he has spent the past 2-3 months preparing for his pro-day which was unfortunately cancelled due to the pandemic caused by the coronavirus outbreak, his experience at two different JUCO's (Santa Monica City College and El Camino College) and how he ultimately landed at LU. As a senior in '19, Henneman not only put up career numbers (63rec, 699 yards, 10 TDs) but he helped lead the Lindenwood Lions football program to their first winning season (9-4 overall) since 2012. 2020 NFL Draft Prospect, WR out of Jacksonville State University, Josh Pearson joins the show to talk about his "against all odds" journey to walking on at D1-FCS Jacksonville State University to becoming the programs all-time leader in touchdown receptions (30) in just two active seasons for the Gamecocks and to now be knocking on the doorstep of playing in the NFL. A few weeks ago, Pearson was all of the talk at the JSU pro-day in which 12 NFL teams were in attendance for. The 6'3 1/2, 205lbs. WR ran a 4.44 forty yard dash, leaped 41 1/2 inches in the vertical, 10ft 8in. broad jump and pumped out 23 reps of 225lbs on the bench press. With the production he was able to have throughout the past couple of years at JSU and now with these elite testing numbers, Pearson has a legit shot at hearing his name called during day 3 of the NFL Draft. 2020 NFL Draft Prospect, DB out of the University of Montreal, Marc-Antoine Dequoy joins the show to discuss his unique journey and preparation for the NFL Draft. Throughout his Montreal Carabins career, Dequoy intercepted opposing quarterbacks 12 times, returning 6 of them for touchdowns. As a Senior in '19, Dequoy's success and leadership on the defensive side of the ball was a key reason why the Carabins were able to make a deep run in the playoffs and appear in the 55th annual Vanier Cup (Canadian National Championship). Unfortunately Montreal lost to Calgary 27-13 but Dequoy sheds some light on the special season he and his teammates had and what it was like to play in a game with such high stakes on the line. In January, Marc-Antoine Dequoy was invited to participate in the East-West Shrine Bowl, one of the top college football all-star games that takes place in St. Petersburg, FL. Unfortunately he wasn't able to play in the game itself due to fracturing his arm but he was able to make an impression throughout the week of practice and showed that he belonged and deserved to compete with the best of the best. On March 9th, the spotlight was on Duquoy was the University of Montreal held its first ever NFL pro-day. It was there where he put up some amazing numbers (40: 4.43, 6.65 L-cone, 37in. vertical, 10ft, 8in. broad jump) all while measuring in at 6'2 3/4, 198 pounds. 2020 NFL Draft prospect, TE out of Southern Illinois University, Nigel Kilby joins the show to talk about his impressive showing at the Northwestern pro-day from last week, what NFL teams have been showing interest since, his journey to becoming a SIU Saluki as his collegiate career began at Eastern Michigan University while also spending a year at Garden City Community College before landing in Carbondale, IL. Following his pro-day performance and the way that the NFL uses the tight-end position now-a-days, do not be surprised if a team falls in love with Kilby and selects him as high as the 3rd-4th round next month. 2020 NFL Draft Prospect, QB out of Tarleton State University, Ben Holmes joins Chris Shanafelt to talk about his journey to Tarleton coming from Nassau Community College, how he's been able to help bring the Tarleton State football program to new heights, what its like to leave the program in a better place than where it was at when he arrived in '17 and more! This past season, the Tarleton State QB was named Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Year as he passed for over 3300 yards, 34 TDs and only 3 interceptions. Last week, Holmes, a New York native, was able to participate in the University of Buffalo pro-day where he caught the eyes of NFL scouts as he completed 30-32 passes throughout the day and was able to speak with teams afterwards. 2020 NFL Draft Prospect, DE out of Bryant University, Tomas Wright joins the show to talk about his journey to Smithfield, RI (where BU is located) coming from West Augustine, FL. Wright is the only player in Bryant Bulldogs history to record 150 tackles, 40 TFLs, 30 sacks. His 30.5 career sacks is most all-time by a Bryant history and 2nd all-time in Northeast Conference history. In January, Wright was invited to Fort Worth, TX to participate in the College Gridiron Showcase. It was there where he was able to showcase his talent in front of all 32 NFL teams as well as 9 CFL teams as he went up against some of the best talent in the country. He was able to meet with teams such as the Cowboys and Colts. 2020 NFL Draft Prospect, QB out of North Central College, Broc Rutter joins the show to talk about how he prepared for both the Northern Illinois + Northwestern pro-day and how he faired in each of those "job interviews". Rutter also talks about his record-breaking NCC Cardinals career that has him #1 in the record books for all-time passing yards at the Division III level with 14,265 to go with 156 total touchdowns. As a senior, Rutter led the North Central Cardinals football program to their first ever National Championship Game, in which they defeated Wisconsin-Whitewater 42-14 and to put the cherry on top of it all, Broc Rutter became the first from North Central to win the Gagliardi Trophy (given to the top player in Division III Football). 2020 NFL Draft Prospect, WR out of Minnesota State University-Mankato, Shane Zylstra joins the show to talk about his record breaking Mavericks career as he reeled in 227 receptions for over 4300 yards and 54 touchdowns throughout the past 4 seasons, what it was like to not only have the individual success that he has had over the years but to have a great deal of team success to go with it. This past season the Mavericks finished 14-1. Their only loss came to West Florida in the National Championship game (48-40) in which Zylstra caught 11 passes for 145 yards and a touchdown. Zylstra also talks about what its like to follow in the foot steps of former Mankato great WR Adam Thielen as well as his very own brother, Brandon Zylstra, who played Division 3 football at Concordia-Moorhead and after a stint in the CFL, is now a member of the Carolina Panthers. This past season, TJ Edwards led the Greyhounds to a 9-2 overall record and an appearance in the D2 Playoffs. 2020 NFL Draft Prospect, RB out of Colorado School of Mines, Cameron Mayberry joins the show to discuss his record breaking Orediggers career as he rushed for over 4000 yards and 52 touchdowns over the past 4 seasons. Despite breaking his fibula 7 games into his senior season, Mayberry was able to heal up and participate in both the College Gridiron Showcase as well as the Hula Bowl, where pro scouts were able to get a live-look at him following the injury. Talented RBs have come out of the RMAC in the past (Danny Woodhead, Austin Ekeler, etc.) and Mayberry has the potenital to be the next to go on and have a successful pro-career.
