POPULARITY
Habits shape our behaviour. Bad habits; we all have them (apparently) and some people have several in their life. In this episode we consider a list of habits that kids display and how these are seen as bad, by grown ups. But what would it be like if we thought about these pesky habits differently? Could this be possible, and if so, would reframing them make a difference to how we feel about ourselves? Flipping the script on our bad habits can fill us full of hope and compassion for ourselves. I hope you start conversations about bad habits wherever you go. Tell me about your so-called bad habits and how you're reframing them, at seraphina@seraphinaspeaks.com. In this episode I also share a review of Australian family podcast, Short & Curly. I've got to say this is the most entertaining philosophy podcast for kids I know. Ethicist Dr Matt Beard, one of the hosts, joins me to answer my question, "what's been the toughest philosophical question" he's considered on the Short & Curly show so far. His answer is fascinating. I hope you find this episode thought provoking. If you do, consider leaving me a positive review on whichever podcast platform you prefer to listen in on. And don't forget, if you want to get involved and join my correspondent team, all you have to do is leave a review for this show on your favorite podcast app (you name and what you like about this podcast) and send me a screenshot. Then I'll be in touch with more information about coming on my show! Subscribe to my Substack here where I share more social commentary on everyday habits and norms, on trends and more. Sponsorship ideas and offers are always welcome to land in my email at seraphina@seraphinaspeaks.com or to my Substack.
Molly went on a deep dive into the Short & Curly archive to find you one of her fave episodes. It's all about whether you should donate a kidney to a family member or friend if they needed one.
In conversation with Carl Smith, Kyla Slaven and Matt Beard of the hit ABC podcast Short & Curly! In this episode, we talk ethics and consider how to frame life's biggest and trickiest questions in ways that are fun and imaginative for kids, the nuts and bolts of what it takes to create a podcast about ethics and why audio, like podcasts, is such a great medium for every type of thinker and learner.
Short & Curly wants you to know all about a cool American science podcast called, Brains On. Each episode is about a different topic and the one we have chosen for you is close to our hearts (or at least, our hands). It's all about smartphones.
What do the podcasts Conversations, Ladies We Need To Talk, Judith Lucy Overwhelmed and Dying, CrossBread, Unravel true crime, The Pineapple Project, Short & Curly, and The Eleventh all have in common? Kellie Riordan, that's what. Kellie is a pioneer of the podcast industry. In fact Kellie has been extracting the best out of cohorts of creatives since MP3 players and iRivers were a thing. She knows all there is to know about how to make a story fascinating, captivating, alluring and appealing using the power of the human voice. In this week's episode you will meet a person who has an amazing capacity to make things happen, from an emergency helicopter flight, to the creation of an audio medium to the birth of her new adventure in DeadSet Studios. Put those earphones in and take a listen to Kellie's story. Enjoy!

When Molly and Carl are not making Short & Curly they are in charge of the world's biggest video sharing platform, called, TubeVids. That's right, it's their job to watch gaming videos, and movie parodies all day long! But it's not all fun and cat videos, people also post lots of mean stuff, as well as videos that are straight out untrue. What should they do about it? Let all the videos stay online or censor what we get to see?

Short & Curly listeners Harry, Max and Hugo live on farm surrounded by all kinds of animals: pets, livestock, and also pests like feral pigs. Some animals they love, some animals they hate, and some are just another member of the herd. Why do we value some animals differently from others? Come with us as we get a tour of their farm. And a warning, this episode deals with the death of animals.

"Do as I say, not as I do!" Does this sound like the adults in your life? Short & Curly listeners often complain that their parents tell them to do one thing but then do something completely different themselves. So unfair! Or is it?
Here's a question from Short & Curly listener Harvey: "Is it OK to hang out with your friends if they're being mean to other people?" Difficult, right? Have you been in a tricky situation like this? What's the best thing to do and why?
