Talk Healing To Me | Stories for Women with Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
What if the most radical thing you could do for your health… was to stop?In this deeply honest and joy-filled episode of Talk Healing To Me, Karen Dwyer chats with Wendy Riordan – founder of Nourish & Flow, full-time mother, business owner, and festival queen – about the power of rest, how burnout shows up in women's lives, and why honouring your own rhythm is the greatest rebellion of all. From ditching toxic wellness expectations to embracing glamping-style guilt-free retreats, Wendy shares how Rest Fest was born – and how healing happens when we stop trying to do it all.If you've ever said, “I just don't have time to rest” – this conversation is your permission slip to hit pause and reconnect with yourself.
The Cursed Carnival and Other Calamities: New Stories About Mythic Heroes This week on Unwise Girls, we are... back to Rick Riordan? Wait, isn't it a week early? Ah, wait, no, I see - it's Rick Riordan Presents! We decided to try out a little sampler platter of what the Riordan-led book imprint featuring various authors telling stories of the mythologies of their own culture has to offer, and we found out that it's a lot... a lot! We discuss successful genre departures, annoying dialogue, the difficulties of bringing stories from preexisting novels into the short story format, Gum Baby, and... what's this... a new exciting work by Rick Riordan? No, no, that can't be right. Come back next week for The Tower of Nero, ch. 1 to 5! Check out our Patreon! Today on Hustling Sideways, Allen and Jim talk to Evin O'Riordan, a singer and chef based in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. Evin tells us of his careers, beginning with his early days in kitchens in Ireland that ultimately lead him to high profile restaurant jobs, as well as a music career that started with fiddling around on a friend's guitar at their house. O'Riordan has traveled all over the U.S., and he discusses his current combination of performances and culinary gigs while in the suburbs of Chicago. The two both attended Marquette University, and now host the show to discuss the side hustles and passion projects of people that they meet, all while continuing to run their own side businesses. We're back with another chunk of classic Riordan fever-dream chapters! Sometime around 2016, Rick started getting silly with his side quests. This is the perfect example. Magnus makes Alex share more about her personal life. Blitz uses the power of fashion to make a magical bag. They arrive at Utgard Lanes and are challenged to a competition by all the giants. Magnus can't stop murdering giants for some reason. Somehow Blitz once again uses the power of fashion to win his competition? Sam faces fear head on. Magnus and Alex sending bowling balls to New Hampshire. Erin wants to send bowling balls to her enemies. We decide this series is actually just Ella Enchanted. SAP and Enterprise Trends Podcasts from Jon Reed (@jonerp) of diginomica.com
In a time-honored Sapphire 2025 tradition, I located an empty hallway and commandeered a couple of chairs to debrief on what we heard in Orlando. This time, with a new guest, Conor Riordan, Chair at UKISUG. Riordan brings a fascinating perspective to this conference review, as he's had a deep career in SAP IT leadership before moving over to the business side - and that's the gap that SAP (and all of us, really) still need to fully bridge. How well did SAP do? How did SAP's AI announcements stack up with UKISUG member data and priorities? Does Riordan agree with my take on the importance of public cloud ERP (formerly S/4HANA public cloud edition?). Are customers getting what they need to migrate and modernize? Is SAP's innovation strategy resonating? What has Riordan's team learned from their own dialogue with SAP? These are just some of the key topics we hit on, before we escaped to pack for the return.

Michelle Riordan is originally from Co Meath where her family runs their own business. She and her husband had both travelled and lived abroad separately for many years. They had grown up down the road from each other in a small rural community in Meath. When their paths finally crossed again in 2004, they established Yogatraveller, a business that combined their passions for yoga and travel. They did all the groundwork from the foothills of the Himalayas in Northern India, building a website and continuing to study yoga. In 2007 they returned to Ireland to have their first child and shortly after we relocated to North Clare where they have been since. Michelle says, ‘after many years of wandering we knew we had found home.'
Sports radio producers are not usually well known, but make a big exception for Shane Riordan. He joins Greg to talk Bears, food and answer questions from the live audience.

This episode is a little bit different: it's with someone whose name I doubt you'll know, but it's a story which, as soon as I heard, I knew I wanted to share with you all on Great Company.Riordan Maynard was a high flying business man until one day it all came crashing down - he doesn't shy away from the crimes he committed - but they resulted in him serving almost seven years in a maximum high security prison in the states for tax fraud. Promised a low-security camp to serve his sentence, instead he was sent to a maximum security prison, he came into contact with real violence and aggression.Riordan doesn't hold back about the realities of life in prison - how it almost broke him, spiralling mentally, and riddled with guilt for leaving his family without provision. But that time away also taught him mental resilience and he has since come out a different man. This is a raw, powerful conversation about accountability, redemption and the strength of the human mind to shift, even when in the darkest of places. You can also follow us on Instagram and Tiktok @greatcompanypodcast and if you've got thoughts, questions and comments, you can email us at greatcompany@jampotproductions.co.ukWhat to expect in this episode:Writing letters from prisonBeating boredom and making the most of each dayHow I became a businessmanBreaking ground in the mobile phone gameHow I ended up behind barsWhen the business started to fall apartThe morning of the arrestThe charges brought against meFirst impressions of prison lifeHow I felt being found guiltyFighting the temptation to go on the runWhy prison was actually good for meHow brutal those first few months inside wereBeing forced into a gang while in prisonWitnessing a prison murderMy first night behind barsThe impact it had on my familyThe moment I realised I could change my mindsetThe Final Eight Questions--THE CREDITSExec Producer: Jemima RathboneAssistant Producer: Gurlina HeerVideo: Jake Ji & Ryley KirbySocial Media: Laura CoughlanGreat Company is an original podcast from JamPot Hosted on Acast. The Role of Public Universities in the Fight Against Climate ChangePublic universities like UC Berkeley have played a major role in developing climate solutions, from innovation in labs to policy initiatives. In order to create positive change in the climate space, science requires funding, which universities can provide. Further, universities, of course, educate, train, and interact firsthand with people who, in the future, will work in the climate space, putting them in an essential position in terms of climate education. How UC Berkeley is Making a DifferenceUC Berkeley specifically has made several important contributions across all aspects of climate science, climate education, and climate solutions. Some examples include Omar Yaghi's lab and its discovery of a potentially revolutionary approach to carbon capture with COF-999, as well as the EcoBlock project in Fruitvale, Oakland, where Berkeley is helping to retrofit “residential homes to improve resilience, sustainability, and quality of life for all community members.” Further, Berkeley has established over fifty undergraduate courses related to climate issues. These courses and initiatives largely attract students because younger generations have significant firsthand experiences with climate change, including wildfires, heat waves, flooding, and air pollution. Why Climate Action from Public Universities is More Important Now than Ever BeforeWith the current uncertainty of continued federal government funding and support, some climate work may face limitations. Nonetheless, university focus on climate change is increasingly necessary to ensure that future generations of citizens are fully informed and well able to participate in a climate change constrained future. As explained by Bruce Riordan, director of the Berkeley Climate Change Network, “these problems require multiple disciplines,” and Berkeley is well positioned across multiple fields of study, research, and action, recognizing that climate change requires integration of business, policy, and research and beyond. About Our GuestBruce Riordan is the Director of the Berkeley Climate Change Network, a collaboration of 300+ faculty and staff at UC Berkeley and the Lawrence Berkeley Climate National Laboratory working in the climate change space. The BCCN seeks to accelerate Berkeley's research, education and service to meet the urgency of the climate crisis by connecting researchers for interdisciplinary projects, helping to raise money for climate research, and building connections between Berkeley academics and off-campus climate leaders across industries. For a transcript, please visit: https://climatebreak.org/how-public-universities-are-helping-to-fight-climate-change-with-bruce-riordan/.

After a career treating breast cancer, Liz O’Riordan didn’t expect to find herself on the other side of the desk. She tells Helen why she’s now dedicating her life to inspiring other women to take charge of their own wellbeing… Meanwhile, following yesterday's discussion of rising autism rates among kids, one Ma’an backed social entertprise has turned its attention to inclusivity and accessibility at work for an increasing cohort of autistic adults. We meet 13-year old Repton pupil Smayan Sethi, who has just published his first acclaimed novel, Shadows of the New World… And private tuition is big business here in the UAE – but when is it a useful driver for kids, and when does it become unhelpful? Helen asks Ruth Brewer of Steer to Success and Craig O’Brien from Elite Education. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

In this episode of Words That Burn, poet Maurice Riordan joins Ben to reflect on a career-spanning selection of poems curated by former student and fellow poet Jack Underwood. With the new Selected Poems from Faber and Faber arranged out of chronology, Riordan discusses how themes like rural life, modernity, nature, and time emerge more clearly—and more hauntingly—across decades of work.Together, they explore how poetry manipulates time, the influence of film and science, the uncanny weight of Irish myth, and what it means to write with one foot in the past and the other in an overcrowded present. From candlelit farmhouses to televised World Cups, Riordan's work straddles eras, places, and emotional states—always grounded in vivid, startling imagery.Poems discussed include Rural Electrification, 1956, The Flight, The Lull, Timeout, Gone With the Wind, and Badb, among others.00:00 Introduction to the Podcast00:06 Maurice Riordan's Selected Poems00:48 Themes and Evolution in Maurice's Work03:15 Rural Electrification and Early Influences06:35 The Power of Imagery in Poetry12:28 Cinematic Influences on Poetry17:21 Observations and Domestic Themes21:23 Exploring Connection with Nature25:50 The Influence of Irish Mythology30:24 Reflections on Isolation and Alienation33:01 Balancing Life Between London and Cork34:42 The Intersection of Poetry and Science37:26 Conclusion and Final ThoughtsFollow the Podcast:Read the Script on SubstackFollow the Podcast On InstagramFollow the Podcast on X/TwitterFollow the Podcast on TiktokFollow the podcast on Bluesky Hosted on Acast. A deeply considered examination of the “common good” reconciling Catholic Social Thought with secular politics and philosophy. The Second Vatican Council invites dialogue about the common good as the set of economic, political, legal, and cultural conditions for human flourishing, whether as individuals or as communities. However, some contemporary Catholic authors jeopardize this dialogue by polarizing liberalism and the common good, interpreting the commitment to individual liberty as incompatible with commitment to the common good. Human Dignity and Liberal Politics: Catholic Possibilities for the Common Good (Georgetown UP, 2023) clarifies the meaning of the common good through the three lenses of Aristotelian practical philosophy, twentieth-century Catholic Social Thought, and political liberalism. It makes the case that embracing the common good does not entail a rejection of liberalism, but that a commitment to liberal politics is compatible with faithful adherence to the Catholic tradition. The book argues that liberal political philosophy is not only compatible with Catholic Social Teaching but may also be the most appropriate framework for communicating the richness of the Church's tradition today. Furthermore, accepting political liberalism can facilitate collaboration in political life between those who hold different worldviews and foster an enriched discussion of democracy, human rights, and religious liberty. Students and scholars of Christian ethics and political philosophy will benefit from this response to the challenges of dialogue about the “common good” in the context of the resurgence of this topic. Sam Young is a recent PhD graduate from Cardiff University, specialising in the theological history of European social Catholic movements active during the crisis years of the 1920s and 1930s.
