This series is an invitation to immerse yourself in the various ways God communicates to us, and us to Him. So pay attention, He is here and willing to whisper in your ear. A word of caution: don't come to Scripture with the agenda of finding yourself there. Right now we are going to take Scripture in. Like breathing, like eating, like smelling a flower. Don't come to Scripture with the agenda of finding yourself there. Come with the firm intention of discovering God instead. And then Scripture will never disappoint. God promises to be found in the places where He dwells – His Word especially. And in the process, you will undoubtedly find yourself as you find Him. So as we enter the hallowed pages of Scripture together, through a humble doorway and a very simple story, ask yourself: what is this telling me about Jesus? I wonder about a time when you have received encouraging words? How did those words spur you on to keep going -- or to change what you said or did? Follow along as we read a letter from Paul that reminds his friends in the church who we are because of Jesus' love for us and how we can live out of the love that Jesus has shown us because of the power of the Holy Spirit in us. Come. Let's pray and ponder. Together. Head over to restorationarlington.org for more information on Restoration and Pray & Ponder. Remember to subscribe so that you never miss a new episode.
I wonder about a time when you believed something? How did you come to believe it? Believing — having faith — means that we put our trust in something or someone. In the Bible it says that “Faith is being sure of what we hope for. It is being sure of what we do not see.” Follow along as we read a story about how Paul shared his faith in Jesus and how the Holy Spirit moved in the hearts of those listening as they, too, came to have faith in Jesus. Come. Let's pray and ponder. Together. Head over to restorationarlington.org for more information on Restoration and Pray & Ponder. Remember to subscribe so that you never miss a new episode.

I wonder about a time when you changed your mind about something? Maybe it was something you didn't like before that you really like now? I wonder if you have ever observed someone else change their mind about something? I wonder what caused that change? Follow along as we read a story about a man whose heart changed from one of extreme hate to a heart overflowing with God's love. It's an amazing story about the power of the Holy Spirit to not only change that man's heart, but to change the hearts of those around him. Come. Let's pray and ponder. Together. I wonder if you like to know if a surprise is coming or if you like to simply be surprised by the surprise? In other words, I wonder how you feel about waiting? Follow along as we read a story that is all about the surprise that Jesus had promised to his friends. A surprise that came in the form of fire and power. A surprise that was God-with-them always and forever. Come. Let's pray and ponder. Together. Head over to restorationarlington.org for more information on Restoration and Pray & Ponder. We're often too distracted to appreciate that we have a greater need in life. We are disconnected with what we're really feeling and what we really need. But when we do finally wake up to our need, we realize that nothing can really satisfy that need so we're left wanting. Is there any way we can truly be satisfied in life? Psalm 34:8 invites us to "taste and see that the Lord is good" - to experience his goodness and ultimately be satisfied in the person of Jesus. Featuring Ray Byrne, church planting resident with OrchardNEO.
“Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!” Psalms 34:8 “Your words were found, and I ate them, And Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart; For I am called by Your name, O LORD God of hosts.” Jeremiah 15:16 I have not departed from the commandment of His lips; I have treasured the words of His mouth More than my necessary food.” Job 23:12 They say, “You are what you eat.” Do we have a steady diet of God's word that fills us with faith, hope, love, joy, and peace? Or do we feed on a diet of doubt, despair, hate, sadness, selfishness, pride, and unrest? What we feed our souls will determine our destiny.
I think one of the hardest things to do in life is to live with joy in the midst of trials and challenges. It's so easy to let life dictate to us our emotions and state of being. But in God, there is a joy available to us right where we are, no matter how good or bad the situation may be. Our Scripture for today comes from Psalm 126:5-6, and today's worship is Taste & See by Travis Greene.
