The Brutality of Frontier Warfare and the Dispossession of Native Nations. Guest: Professor Richard Bell. Molly Brant, a Mohawk woman, navigated the brutal Western frontier, which served as a massive thousand-mile battlefield characterized by "scorched earth" tactics against civilians. Most Native nations allied with the British to prevent patriot expansion onto their lands. However, following the war, the British betrayed their allies in the Treaty of Paris, ceding indigenous territories to the United States without consent. The conflict led to a lasting American national myth that distanced white patriots from their native neighbors, casting indigenous people as "savages" and justifying their displacement from ancestral homelands. 31750

In this episode, Brant Hansen argues that holding onto offense is killing us - spiritually, physically, and relationally. He had to decide whether the offense he experienced as a young person should be held on to or if he should release it. It led him to a simple, uncomfortable conclusion: righteous human anger doesn't exist in scripture, and the anger we carry, however justified it feels, is not what faithful people are called to hold. We talk about forgiveness, hypocrisy in the church, and what Jesus actually intended when he told us to love our enemies.Brant is an author of several bestselling books, including Unoffendable, and a syndicated radio host on more than 200 stations. Jasveen Sangha was seated at the breakfast table the morning of October 29th, 2023, when a headline flashed across the TV that would turn her glamorous world of privilege upside-down, Former “Friends” star Matthew Perry found dead at his Pacific Palisades home.  A lump formed in her throat. Only days before she'd supplied someone connected to the actor 25 vials of liquid ketamine, enough to comatose an African elephant. She typed in a quick Google search: “Can ketamine be blamed for causing death?” Any hope she had that the story would simply fade away was quickly dashed. Despite his well-publicized struggle with drugs and alcohol, Perry, 54, was still worth millions and a legion of “Friends” fans demanded to know who was responsible for giving “Chandler” his fatal dose. In the months that followed, police arrested five individuals for having a hand in Perry's tragic demise. It wasn't a set of the usual suspects. Two physicians, a rehab counselor, the actor's live-in assistant, and an international, jet-setting socialite authorities dubbed “The Ketamine Queen” were among those arrested in connection with Perry's death. Imprisoned in the California Institution for Women in Chino, California, since 2024 for the murder of two young brothers killed in a hit-and-run, Rebecca Grossman is adjusting to a very different lifestyle than the one she was used to. The one-time publisher of a luxury lifestyle magazine and heir to a multimillion-dollar plastic surgery fortune hasn't taken her dramatic fall from grace lying down. Since being sentenced to 15 years to life for two counts of second-degree murder, Rebecca Grossman has tapped every resource available to her to avoid consequences, both criminal and financial. Her refusal to accept responsibility has weighed heavily on the family of the two victims, 11-year-old Mark and 8-year-old Jacob Iskander. On September 29, 2020 Rebecca was behind the wheel of a super-charged Mercedes-Benz that struck the boys in a crosswalk as their mother and younger sibling looked on in horror—having just barely survived themselves. An investigation into the crash revealed Rebecca was under the influence of alcohol and Valium, and perhaps more damningly, was engaged in a high-speed road race with her lover, former Major League pitcher Scott Erickson. After five years of conjecture and speculation, a jury will have the opportunity to decide once and for all on Erickson's level of culpability, and whether or not the Iskanders are owed a multi-million dollar sum from the Grossman's for the death of their two boys.   Subscribe to Jami's YouTube channel @JamiOnAir: https://www.youtube.com/@jamionair Follow Jami @JamiOnAir on Instagram and TikTok. What if the reason you feel stuck, disconnected, or burned out isn't your workload… but a lack of clarity on what truly matters to you?In this episode, I sit down with author and keynote speaker Brant to explore why knowing your core values—especially your non-negotiables—is the foundation for how you lead, live, and show up every single day. We dive into what's really behind the “belief crisis” so many people are experiencing in their work and lives, and why so many of us are operating on autopilot without even realizing it.Together, we unpack the difference between values you like and values you live by, and how that gap impacts your energy, confidence, decision-making, and sense of fulfillment. We also explore the idea that belief is a skill you can build—and how strengthening it can transform the way you lead yourself and others. This conversation is filled with powerful questions, real stories, and fresh perspective on courage, connection, conviction, and compassion—and how these pillars shape a life of alignment and purpose. If you've ever questioned your direction, struggled to trust your decisions, or felt out of sync with your work or life, this episode will challenge you to stop “winging it” and start living with intention.Because purpose isn't something you find—it's something you choose.Tune in and reconnect with what truly matters.Brant's Bio: Brant Menswar is a Cornell-certified leadership expert, bestselling author, and founder of Black Sheep Foundry—but what makes him different is simple: He's built an approach that works. For over a decade, Brant has researched the force behind every high-performing team: belief. Not vague inspiration. Not surface-level engagement. Belief rooted in personal conviction — the kind that shapes how people lead, decide, and show up.He's helped over 100,000 people discover what they stand for.. He's worked with Netflix, Verizon, Microsoft, NASA, and Hilton. And he's brought that same research-backed framework to leadership stages nationwide—combining the precision of a Cornell-trained expert with the energy of a former national touring rock musician. Before keynotes, Brant spent two decades as a national recording artist with Big Kettle Drum, earning Billboard recognition and SiriusXM airplay. He learned one thing on stage that changed everything: belief is contagious. When a crowd believes, they move. When a team believes, they perform. The result? Leaders who make decisions with conviction. Teams that trust each other. In this episode of The Unconventional Path: Entrepreneurship and Innovation Stories and Ideas, hosts Bela Musits and Mike Wasserman sit down with New York Times best-selling author and innovation expert Brant Cooper. As the CEO and founder of Moves the Needle, Brant has spent over 25 years helping startups and large enterprises navigate the shift from Industrial Age mindsets to Digital Age opportunities. The conversation begins by exploring the evolution of the "lean" concept—from its origins in 1990s lean manufacturing to the modern Lean Entrepreneur. Brant explains his core mission: teaching large, established organizations how to reclaim their entrepreneurial spirit and structure work effectively for the modern era.A central theme of the episode is the stark contrast between the Industrial Age and the Digital Age. Brant uses Henry Ford's assembly line as a metaphor for traditional management, where efficiency was found in repetition and rigid hierarchy. In that era, the "white collar" side of business was simply an extension of this assembly line.Today, however, the world is "completely upside down." With endless options and power in the hands of the consumer, information now resides on the "edges" of a company rather than at the center. Brant argues that companies still using top-down, command-and-control management are too slow and disconnected from their customers. To thrive, organizations must embrace an "age of agile," decentralize decision-making, and create new communication flows. The hosts and guest also discuss the common hurdles to organizational change. Brant addresses the frequent objection that teams "don't have time" for what he calls exploration work—the process of finding answers when faced with uncertainty. He challenges leadership to integrate learning and exploration into daily routines to actually make execution work more efficient. Finally, the group reflects on the communication challenges that arise as a company grows. What starts as a simple "lunch table" communication culture in a small startup must evolve into a structured, two-way flow of information as the organization scales.Tune in to learn how to move your organization toward a more customer-focused, agile, and entrepreneurial future.About Our Guest: Brant Cooper is the author of The Lean Entrepreneur and a trusted advisor to global enterprises. School refusal isn't just about kids staying home. It shows up in subtle ways—frequent nurse visits, missed classes, late arrivals, and quiet disengagement that often goes unnoticed until it becomes a major problem. In this episode, we break down what's actually driving school refusal behavior and why a one-size-fits-all approach doesn't work. Drawing from real clinical and school-based experience, we explore the four core functions behind these behaviors and how they often overlap in ways that make intervention more complex than it seems. You'll hear how anxiety, avoidance, attention-seeking, and access to more rewarding alternatives all play a role—and how modern factors like virtual learning, technology, and shifting family dynamics are changing the landscape. We also walk through practical, evidence-based strategies that clinicians, schools, and families can use together. From distress tolerance and exposure work to environmental changes and caregiver collaboration, this episode focuses on what actually helps move kids back toward consistent school engagement. If you're working with students who are struggling to attend—or families who feel stuck—this conversation will give you a clearer framework and more confidence in how to respond.Brightminds AdPAR Ad This episode is brought to you by PAR.Explore the AI Report Writer here:https://www.parinc.com/product/ai-report-writer?utm_campaign=38111624-Psyched%20to%20Practice%202026&utm_source=P2P%20Podcast&utm_medium=Related%20PodcastsLearn more about the RIAS-2 NU here:https://www.parinc.com/product/groups/rias-rist-assessments?utm_campaign=38111624-Psyched%20to%20Practice%202026&utm_source=P2P%20Podcast&utm_medium=Related%20PodcastsTo hear more and stay up to date with Paul Wagner, MS, LPC and Ray Christner, Psy.D., NCSP, ABPP visit our website at: http://www.psychedtopractice.com “Be well, and stay psyched"

A faint breeze swept through the Catalina Foothills, skittering specks of desert sand across North Campbell Avenue, a seven-mile artery that climbs from the gates of the University of Arizona to the jagged base of the Santa Catalina Mountains. Just after 1:45 AM on February 1st, 2026 in the Catalina Foothills most residents of the wealthy enclave north of Tucson had long since gone to bed. Among them Nancy Guthrie, mother of Today show anchor, Savannah Guthrie. Lying still in a deep slumber, the 84-year-old didn't notice when the lights on her home router suddenly flipped from a steady blue to blinking red, a subtle sign that her connection to the outside world had been severed. Nor did she see the push notification on her silenced cellphone alerting her that the doorbell camera had detected motion. By the time she realized something was wrong, it was already too late. As of the date of this recording, it's been nearly two months since the beloved matriarch was abducted. Despite a million-dollar reward, around-the-clock press coverage, and the combined efforts of the FBI and local authorities, there remains no clear evidence of where she might be or who took her.

On the afternoon of December 14th, 2025, an eerie, uncharacteristic silence settled over 255 S. Chadbourne Avenue. On most days, the sprawling New England-style farmhouse in Brentwood teemed with life. You never knew who might walk through the front door …Jerry Seinfeld, Larry David, Betty White, Martin Short. Icons of the entertainment world were drawn there, lured by the home's storied past and its colorful owners: Rob and Michele Reiner. The first person to pull up to its towering iron gates that day in mid-December was no celebrity, but rather a massage therapist arriving for a 2 p.m. appointment. When no one answered, the masseuse reached out to Romy, the couple's 27-year-old daughter. Romy arrived just after 3:30 and moved through her childhood home with deliberate steps, that low-level worry turning into a cold, sharp fear. She searched room after room until she finally reached the primary suite. Romy pushed open the heavy doors and screamed at what she saw. There, on the bed she used to sneak into as a child after she had a bad dream, lay her father, the life drawn from his face, the cream-colored sheets stained a deep, unmistakable red. She didn't know it at the time, but her mother rested only a few feet away mercifully out of Romy's view.  It didn't take police long to make an arrest. The suspect came as a surprise to the public but not to those close to the Reiner family.
