It was an abundant Thanksgiving for the Seahawks, who completely dominated five of the six halves of basketball it played in the Live Oak Bank Holiday Classic. There were all sorts of positives for UNCW, ranging from lockdown defense to sharing the basketball and excellent individual performances from Patrick Wessler, Madison Durr, and more. Bill and Brant touch on all of those interesting nuggets, as well as what we can expect against a very good, uptempo Marshall squad on Wednesday night in Trask.

In June 2018, Tristan Beaudette and his brother-in-law Scott McCurdy had left their wives in Orange County to embark on a final camping trip together before Tristan and his wife Erica relocated to the Bay Area. Their home for the night …Malibu Creek State Park, near beautiful Malibu Beach. After a night by the campfire, Beaudette and McCurdy went to their respective tents and settled in for bed. Already asleep inside the separate tents were their most treasured possessions: Scott's two boys, ages 3 and 5 and Tristan's daughters, 2 and 4. Sometime after 1 in the morning on June 22, 2018, Scott was awakened by what he thought were fireworks. Then he heard Tristan's daughters crying. Scott told his boys to stay put while he went to Tristan's tent to investigate. There, he saw Tristan lying face down in the center of the tent and his daughters huddled together, crying. Tristan's face was covered in blood.  Given Malibu's reputation as a safe beach town, nobody believed Tristan's murder was a random act of violence. After the loss at Kent State, the Seahawks returned home with a gritty, culture win over USC Upstate! Uncle Bill and Brant discuss the winning plays from Christian May and Gavin Walsh in particular, as well as points on leadership, Madison Durr's unreal ability to get to the free throw line, and Patrick Wessler finding consistency in his new role. With ECU coming to town on Tuesday night, we Jordan Riley's importance for the Pirates, as well as Gio Emejuru's dominant post play. How big of a role will foul trouble play in this one, and will the Hawks need to go small?

There are many times where we are struggling hard to hear a voice of direction for our lives. These messages can come from many places and many people, but the messages that we hear from God Himself are the most important ones. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times; Charles Dickens wrote that about UNCW's performance at Kent State, supposedly. Uncle Bill and Brant are on this mic this week for a nuanced discussion of the Seahawks' loss in Ohio on Monday night, which saw UNCW fall behind by 22 points before getting things in gear and fighting back. After a no-good, very bad start, there was A LOT to like about what we saw from the mildly shorthanded Seahawks, including strong outings from Pat Wessler and Nolan Hodge, Greedy Williams' asserting himself at a critical point, and the Hawks' fortitude to fight back against a REALLY good opponent. Then, a look ahead to Saturday night's matchup with an uptempo squad from USC Upstate, led by Karmani Gregory and Carmelo Adkins. Will this one be a little easier, or similar to last year's battle in Spartanburg?

On Halloween night 2004, roommates Adriane Insogna, Leslie Mazzara and Lauren Meanza handed out candy to trick-or-treaters. The three women settled in for bed around 10:30 PM anticipating a typical start to their work week the next morning. Lauren was awoken out of a deep sleep at 2:00 a.m. when her dog started barking. Moments later, she heard a blood-curdling scream coming from upstairs. She tried to call for help but there was no dial tone. Lauren managed to get outside of the house and hide in a row of bushes as she heard the sound of someone scampering away from the home and into the darkness. Lauren went back inside to find her two friends, Adriane and Leslie, lying unresponsive in pools of blood. Investigators got to work trying to find the person who broke into the home at 2631 Dorset Street in the middle of the night and murdered two women, but they set out on the wrong track from the onset. Adriane and Leslie's killer walked among them for over a year undiscovered. When authorities finally did uncover the killer's identity, they learned his motive was connected to a love interest …but not one involving either of his victims. Although the timing of the grisly crimes was uncanny, the double-homicide had nothing to do with Halloween. Four months have passed since a jury acquitted Karen Read for the murder of Boston police officer John O'Keefe. Some involved in the three-year saga have seen their reputations permanently tarnished. Others are riding the case's notoriety to newfound fame and monetary rewards. The obvious question remains: if Karen Read didn't kill John O'Keefe, who did?
