Ever feel like you're carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders? In this episode, Amy shares a funny (and powerful) story from the gym that turned into a life-giving reminder from the Father: sometimes all we need to do is look up. Through scripture and personal reflection, you'll be encouraged to lift your eyes off the struggles, fix your gaze on Jesus, and remember that you were never meant to carry the weight alone.

What happens when God doesn't answer our prayers the way we want? Christian Nichles explores 2 Corinthians 12:9, where Paul begged God three times to remove his "thorn in the flesh," only to receive this response: "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Paul's experience teaches us that sometimes God's answer isn't healing—it's sustaining grace. This doesn't mean we stop seeking help or give up hope, but that we can find strength even in our ongoing struggles. In this message, you'll discover: How to find peace when prayers for healing seem unanswered What it means that God's power is perfected in our weakness The difference between cure and grace in our mental health journey This series is for anyone wrestling with anxiety, depression, or fear—and for those who love someone who is hurting. If you're struggling, please reach out to a counselor or mental health professional.
What does it mean to have God's favor? There's an important phrase in the Bible that I'd like to look at today - the phrase is God's favor. I'm not sure that we think about this much or even understand what it is.Psalm 90:17 tells us, "Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and do confirm for us the work of our hands., yes, confirm for us the work of our hands." The ESV version of this verse says "establish the work of our hands."This Psalm was written by Moses (the only psalm in the Bible written by him), and is a prayer, asking the Lord to bring His favor and blessing over the Israelites' life and work. How should we seek God's favor as well? >>Watch on YouTube

Losing my husband in a tragic accident was my worst fear come true — but in the middle of that storm, God gave me peace that didn't make sense. In this episode, I share my Christian testimony of loss and how God prepared me to walk through tragedy with hope: How to trust God when life falls apart. Why surrender led to peace instead of despair. The lessons I learned as a Christian wife and mom walking through grief. How you can find peace in your own hard season. What do you do when everything you love is stripped away? Christian Nichles explores Job 1-2, where we encounter a man who lost his children, health, and wealth in a matter of days—yet continued to wrestle with faith in the midst of unthinkable suffering. Job's story reveals that profound loss and mental anguish aren't signs of spiritual failure. Sometimes faithful people experience devastating circumstances beyond their control. In this message, you'll discover: How to process grief and loss without losing faith Why suffering doesn't mean God has abandoned you The difference between toxic positivity and genuine hope This series is for anyone wrestling with anxiety, depression, or fear—and for those who love someone who is hurting. About the Series: "Life Under the Broom Tree" explores mental health through Scripture, showing that God doesn't shame us for our weakness—He meets us in it. If you're struggling, please reach out to a counselor or mental health professional.

One of the best ways of having a discussion about faith is to not simply talk about what you believe, but also how you came to believe it. Not just the content, but the process or the journey you went on. It's often very helpful, because everybody is on a journey. We're looking now at a famous passage: Moses and the burning bush. Moses already believes in God, but until this, he's never encountered him. This is Moses' conversion experience: he actually meets God. Four things bring Moses to this moment, and they're the same four things the Bible says usually have to happen if you're going to meet God. What are they? They are 1) a disrupting sight, 2) an expanding concept, 3) a personal problem, and 4) a surprising grace. This realization led her to her first AA meeting. Why Traditional Recovery Works (Even When You Fight It)From classical ballerina to gym owner to construction manager to published author, Emily's career path has been anything but linear. If you can believe it, today, we are wrapping up season 8! Next week, you will hear a wrap-up episode from our hosts, Robyn, Katie, and Lindy, as they discuss all that God did throughout this past year and what is in store for Season 9, which will begin on September 3rd. Lisa, who shared at our Fairhope, Alabama community, will encourage you to ask all the questions. Listen as she shares a hard but happy retelling of finding the Lord—in none other than a college biology class. This story of curiosity and conversion starts with Lisa's Jewish beginnings, and includes a childhood touched by tremendous trauma: alcoholism, addiction, divorce, and loss. In her dysfunctional family and dysfunctional life, Lisa longed to be known. Yet when she met Jesus, she discovered her name was written in the Lamb's Book of Life, and being known by Him was all she needed. In this episode, you will learn: - God is always pursuing you and longs for you to have a relationship with Him. - You are intimately known by God. (Psalm 139) - As a child of God, your sin is on the cross and behind you, and there is nothing you can do to separate yourself from the love of Christ! Meet Tommy Williams, a 21-year-old Christian musician whose profound wisdom transcends his years. From his family's guitar-building tradition to discovering his unique voice in worship music, Tommy's journey reveals what happens when divine purpose redirects human ambition.Tommy candidly shares the moment everything changed—when God called him to abandon his dreams of being "the next Ed Sheeran" and instead write love songs to Him. This pivotal redirection shapes his distinctive approach to music, crafting songs that speak directly to human suffering while offering the hope of divine healing. His creative process involves placing raw emotions and even lies in the verses, then delivering powerful biblical truth in the chorus—creating a spiritual journey within each song. What makes Tommy's ministry special is his theological depth concerning pain. Rather than viewing suffering as evidence against God's goodness, he articulates how God uses our darkest moments to draw us closer to His heart. This understanding permeates his songwriting, including his latest release "Come and See," inspired by Jesus's compassion portrayed in biblical narratives. As both an independent artist and worship leader, Tommy balances creative excellence with spiritual authenticity. He shares practical insights about maintaining spiritual health while constantly pouring out to others, embracing Sabbath rest, and recognizing our fundamental dependence on God. His vulnerability extends to sharing his prayer requests—for unwavering conviction when faced with industry pressure and for God's provision in funding his music.Whether you're a musician, ministry leader, or someone navigating your own pain, Tommy's perspective will illuminate how God works through our suffering to reveal His presence. We can often go through out day not noticing the presence of God in our lives. But in today's episode Fr. Fessio teaches us how to notice God in the mysteries of the universe.
There are countless verses in the Bible reminding us that God alone is the great Provider, able to meet our needs even in the most unexpected circumstances. Olga Kukushkina, who shared her story at our Homewood, Alabama live gathering a few months ago, encourages us to rest in the truth of these verses as well as the sustaining love of our Heavenly Father, who sees all and is in all. Be amazed as Olga recounts the details in which God miraculously made a way for her and her family to come to America after Russian tanks and troops took over her hometown in Kherson, Ukraine. This story is a beautiful illustration depicting the hands and feet of Christ working through His people to bring peace and comfort in the reality of war and chaos. IN THIS EPISODE YOU WILL LEARN: - There is a time for everything… A time for war and a time for peace. (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8) - God‘s presence is found in the details of your life - God‘s love is high and wide and long and deep… He will never stop loving you. What if every difficult circumstance in your life is actually God's invitation to discover a specific aspect of His character? On today's episode, Graham Cooke explores a stunning truth: God has allocated a particular Fruit of the Spirit to all negative experiences — meaning love is present with enemies, joy is constant in trials, and peace is already waiting in challenging situations. Key Scriptures:+ Matthew 5:44. But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.+ Romans 12:20. But if your enemy is hungry, feed him, and if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.+ James 1:2. Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials.+ John 16:33. These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.+ John 14:27. Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.+ 2 Thessalonians 3:16. Now may the Lord of peace Himself continually grant you peace in every circumstance.+ Hebrews 10:24. And let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds.Want to explore more?
What is God's will for my life? It's one of the most common—and most important—questions Christians ask. In this episode, Tripp Almon from Stand to Reason joins Dr. Jeff to tackle this profound topic. Together, they explore what Scripture reveals about God's will, how to discern it in daily life, and why our understanding of God's character is essential to the process. Whether you're facing a major decision or simply seeking to live more faithfully, this conversation will encourage and equip you to walk with clarity, confidence, and trust. Let's dive in! Tripp Almon serves as the Outpost Coordinator and a speaker with Stand to Reason. He is from Newnan, Georgia (just south of Atlanta) and now lives in Colorado with his wife, Megan, and their kids, Neely and Rogan. Tripp's passion for educating students of all ages in the areas of Christian theology, worldview, and apologetics is driven in large part from growing up in a Christian home and then struggling profoundly with the tidal wave of cultural ideas that engulfed him as he entered a secular university. Thankfully, his experience taught him that Christianity not only stands in the marketplace of ideas — it soars. Before joining Stand to Reason, Tripp, a former elite gymnast, coached gymnastics for more than two decades. He served as a pastor for 10 years, and was the Gap Year Director at Summit Ministries for 7 years. He and his family love the outdoors and adventure sports, particularly off-road motorcycling. Tripp is also a rally car co-driver with Almon Brothers Racing Team. He and his brother were 2017 champions of the NASA Rally Atlantic Cup Series. Tripp loves when he and his wife, Megan, get to speak and serve at events together. If you'd like Tripp to speak at your church, conference, or event please contact him at Tripp@str.org To register for Summit Student Conferences, visit: Summit.org/students/ For additional free resources from Summit, go to: Summit.org/resources
Being called by God to do something you feel ill-equipped to do can be somewhat of a frightening place to be. That is where Katie Lassiter, our storyteller from our Montgomery, Alabama community group, found herself when her husband approached her about becoming a foster family. Katie was adamant she could not do it as she didn't think she was mentally strong enough. But, as you will see in her story, when God calls you to something, He will equip you with the strength and the resources you need. What are you being called to today? Katie's story is going to encourage you to take a step towards that calling even if you feel unprepared because the Lord will indeed empower you. IN THIS EPISODE YOU WILL LEARN: - God's plan is always better than your plan. - If you feel God is calling you to something, just take one step and let Him lead. - God's grace is sufficient for you in your weakness.
