Pastor Ricky finishes our short sermon series in 1 and 2 Thessalonians with an encouragement to pray for the preaching of the Word, leadership, and peace. Next week Pastor Brad will be back in the pulpit.
Jesus doesn't wait for the affair to happen. He goes further back — to the glance, the thought, the habit of the heart. In Matthew 5:27–32, Jesus redefines adultery not just as an action but as an orientation of the soul — and He calls us to a radical honesty about what we're really looking for in other people. In this sermon, Pastor Brad walks through three uncomfortable but freeing truths: lust begins in the heart long before any physical act; it requires urgent, practical attention — not willpower alone; and the covenant of marriage is something Jesus takes seriously enough to defend. But this isn't just a sermon about what we've done wrong. It's about a Savior who has never broken covenant with us — even when we've broken it with Him. Topics covered: What Jesus actually means by "looking lustfully" The difference between attraction and objectification Practical steps to address lust before it takes root What Jesus said about divorce — and what He didn't say How the gospel speaks to those carrying guilt from the past

What does Jesus really mean when he says "Do not murder"? In this sermon from Matthew 5:21–26, Pastor Brad digs beneath the surface of one of the most familiar commandments in Scripture — and what he finds is both convicting and hopeful. Jesus isn't just raising the bar on behavior. He's exposing the roots: the anger we've learned to manage, the contempt we've dressed up as discernment, the grudge we've carried so long it feels normal. And then he shows us the remedy — and it's more urgent and more practical than we might expect. In this message you'll discover: Why anger and contempt are on the same road as murder The difference between righteous anger and wounded ego Why broken relationships interrupt worship The crucial difference between forgiveness and reconciliation Why delay is the enemy of reconciliation How the gospel gives us the only motivation powerful enough to move us toward peace Whether you're carrying a broken relationship, an unresolved conflict, or a grudge you've never named out loud — this message is for you. If you want to learn more about forgiveness, check out our series Forgiveness: Letting Go of the Hurts We Carry
This week, we hear from Pastor Brad as he shares his favorite bible story. Found in 2 Kings, we see the story of Naaman and how God used a little girl from Israel, the King of Israel, and Elisha to heal Naaman both physically and spiritually. Our big truth is that God's salvation is for everyone. Everyone who realizes that they need it and that they can't earn it. Everyone who humbly submits to God's way. Everyone in whom God produces new life, and it is for everyone, while using willing nobodies. God used a young girl who displays grace, in a foreshadowing of Jesus' forgiveness, to forgive Naaman and share a message from God with Naaman. Praise God that He uses broken, messy nobodies like us to get his message to others around us. Be thinking of your “one” as we continue in the year, and who you might be in prayer for daily, for opportunities to share the gospel with. This sermon is from 5/17/2026
In this episode of the Fresh Hope for Mental Health Podcast, Pastor Brad interviews Adam Flesner about his powerful story documented in his book, Still Here: A Bipolar Survival Manual. Adam shares his journey with bipolar disorder, beginning in 2011 while he was in college. At first, doctors believed he was struggling with depression and prescribed an antidepressant, which triggered his first manic episode and eventually led to a bipolar diagnosis. Adam openly discusses the difficult years that followed as he searched for the right medication and eventually found stability. However, after graduating from college, he decided to stop taking his medication, which led to poor decisions, addiction to performance-enhancing substances and cannabis, and an attempt to self-medicate his condition in unhealthy ways. During a particularly difficult season that included separation from his wife and a severe mixed episode, Adam experienced a suicide attempt. Thankfully, he was stabilized again using the same medication that had helped him previously, which also allowed him to break free from addiction and begin rebuilding his life. Today, Adam is thriving, remarried, and pursuing a new calling in theology. His story is honest, hopeful, and deeply encouraging for anyone navigating bipolar disorder, addiction, setbacks, or the long road toward healing and stability.

"Made Men"Today Pastor Brad Teaches from Mark 3:1-19Todays Mark sermon deals with Jesus continuing to rebuke the Pharisees when they complain that he heals a man on the sabbath. As people hear more of Jesus' miracles, crowds gather and Jesus takes the opportunity to appoint twelve apostles to aid him in his ministry. Pastor Brad helps explain that proximity to Jesus, does not automatically make you more like Jesus, it is what you do within that proximity that matters. Did Jesus come to throw out the Old Testament? Some people think so. But in Matthew 5:17–20, Jesus sets the record straight — and what he says might surprise you. In this sermon from our series on the Sermon on the Mount, Pastor Brad explores one of the most misunderstood passages in all of Scripture. Jesus didn't come to tear down God's law. He came to fulfill it. And the righteousness he requires goes far deeper than anything we can manufacture on our own. In this message we cover: What Jesus meant when he said he came to "fulfill" the Law and the Prophets Why the Old Testament still matters for Christians today The difference between judicial, ceremonial, and moral law — and which one still binds us Why the Pharisees' righteousness wasn't enough — and why ours isn't either The gospel hope of Matthew 5: Jesus meets the standard we never could Whether you're new to faith or have been following Jesus for years, this message will deepen your understanding of the Bible, the gospel, and what it means to live as God's people.
Throughout the Gospels, some of Jesus' most powerful moments happened around a table. He taught truth, extended grace, confronted hypocrisy, built relationships, and revealed the heart of God while sharing meals with ordinary people. From dining with sinners to feeding thousands, every meal carried a message. This sermon series, “Guess Who's Coming To Dinner,” Pastor Brad leads us to explore the meals of Jesus and what they teach us about faith, fellowship, forgiveness, humility, and the Kingdom of God. Each week highlights a different scene where Jesus used food and fellowship to transform lives and point people toward salvation. As we gather around these tables, we discover that Jesus still invites people to come near, find grace, and experience true spiritual nourishment. Whether you feel far from God or close to Him, there is always a place at the table with Jesus.
In this second week of our series, "Multiply" Pastor Brad talks to us about the importance of growth. It is not a bad thing to add to what we are already doing, but we are called to expand beyond our current reach... to go into the whole world, and we do this by multiplication. This is the Timberlake Church online podcast, let us know you were here today.
This week, Pastor Brad opens up the word to one of his favorite passages: 1 Thessalonians 2:3-12. This is a passage that the Lord has used to shape him in ministry, and he shares with us how God calls us to live in a worthy manner in light of his kingdom and glory, by being transparent, caring for others, being of the same character in public and in private, and calling others around us to live in the calling that God has called them to. Brad challenges us to use these principles as a guide for our lives. If you're not already, what would it look like to make these principles YOUR guide? It is hard, but it is GOOD. This is what you were made for, and the life that God has called you to. This sermon is from 5/10/2026
"The Doctor Is In "Today Pastor Brad Teaches from Mark 2:13-28Todays Mark sermon is divided into three parts. The first deals with Jesus rebuking the Pharisees when they complain that he eats with sinners. With Jesus reminding them that he is here to teach them to repent, not to affirm their ways. Pastor Brad then delves into the second in which Jesus gives the first example of his death, and uses the new wine parable to help them understand that the sinners must become new righteous people so they can walk with him in eternal life. In the final chapter Jesus reminds the Pharisees that he is Lord and that the Sabbath is for rest, not for judgment. YouTube Link: https://youtu.be/PGwSls7M5fQThank you for joining us today! May 3rd | Made For More | Matthew 5:14–16In this powerful conclusion to the Made for More series, Pastor Brad Daugherty challenges us to embrace both our identity and our assignment as followers of Jesus. Teaching from Matthew 5:14–16, he reminds us that we are not striving to become the light—we are the light of the world through Christ. With relatable stories, biblical insight, and practical application, Pastor Brad unpacks three key truths: we've been given power through our identity in Jesus, placement in specific spaces and relationships for a purpose, and a clear purpose—to reflect God's glory so others are drawn to Him.This message pushes beyond inspiration into action, introducing the concept of your “Kingdom Circle”—the people and places where you live, work, and play—and how God has uniquely positioned you to make an eternal impact right where you are.f you've ever wondered how to live out your faith in everyday life, this episode will help you move from simply having light… to actually shining it.Key takeaway: You don't have to manufacture the light—just stop hiding it.Do you know JESUS? https://www.nbgilmer.org/do-you-know-jesusNeed PRAYER? https://www.nbgilmer.org/praySupport through GIVING: https://www.nbbctx.org/giving

As we jump back into the book of 2 Timothy, Pastor Brad shares that offering our lives as an act of worship to God is the most rewarding way to live. But now, how are we to run the race set before us as we live a life of worship? We train, and then, as Paul says, “I fought the good fight,” we engage! Do not be fearful to train, and then engage in the battle. As we engage, we need to be sure to choose the right fight! Not every fight is a good fight. “Is what I am engaging in making progress in the Kingdom of God, making me more like Jesus, promoting good around the world?” Choose the right fight! Don't give up. Endure to the end, run like you're trying to WIN … finish your race well. Endure to the end, and remember the trailblazer - Christ has gone before us and is waiting there! Ask yourself these questions this week: Is my life is an act of worship to God? Where do I need to give my focus? Training, Engaging, Choosing, Enduring? Do I really love Jesus? This sermon is from 4/12/2026

Easter Sunday, Pastor Brad breaks down what Paul meant in 1 Corinthians when he tells the church to be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain. Christ's work on the cross was done in order that Jesus could WIN, so that we can be steadfast no matter the storm, immovable no matter who tries to shake us, and overflowing in doing good. Because Jesus won, EVERYTHING IS MEANINGFUL.This sermon is from 4/5/2026
In this episode, Pastor Brad talks with author and speaker Maria I. Morgan about her powerful journey through anxiety and depression. Maria shares how her first experience with anxiety and depression began in 2006 after a car accident. During that season she sought help quickly and spent about nine months receiving medication and therapy, but the deeper root of her struggles was not discovered at that time. Years later, in 2020, Maria faced a second and much more severe episode after caring for her mother-in-law who had dementia. During this difficult period, she experienced intense depression, suicide attempts, and even a psychosis episode. Eventually, through treatment and deeper reflection, the root of her struggles was uncovered—pain connected to her childhood relationship with her father. Through faith, support, and healing, Maria experienced restoration and now shares her story to help others who are struggling with anxiety and depression. This episode is a powerful and hope-filled conversation for anyone walking through similar challenges. About the Guest: Maria I. Morgan is the award-winning author of the Louie the Lawnmower children's series and Outrageously Fruitful, a women's Bible study. Passionate about helping women find freedom from anxiety and depression, her book Hope Ignited: Set Free from the Grip of Anxiety and Depression (available spring 2026) offers a faith-centered, holistic approach to healing—addressing body, soul, and spirit. Maria lives in Georgia with her husband, Steve, and their playful pets, who bring laughter and creativity to her journey.

This Sunday, Pastor Brad shared with us from the apostle Paul what our ministry should be. As evangelists, we should personally share and preach the word. We need to preach the word because God is too awesome to keep to ourselves, and Jesus is alive & real & present! We should preach the Word when we feel like doing it, and even when we don't! We should preach the word with courage and care! We should preach the Word when people don't want to hear the truth that it brings. In 2 Timothy 4:5, Paul calls Timothy, and thereby even us, to “exercise self-control in everything, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.” As we continue through our weeks, where can you personally share the Gospel? Fulfill your ministry by maturing & multiplying for the sake of the Gospel!! This sermon is from 3/29/2026

Through proper diagnosis, treatment, and a renewed relationship with God, Donavan found hope and healing. Today, he shares his story to encourage others living with mental illness, reminding them that their diagnosis does not define them and that recovery, purpose, and faith can coexist.

Pastor Brad Hamby opens up about church hurt, toxic leadership, financial pressure in ministry, business faith, and the hard lessons God used to shape his character. In this episode of Between Me and You, Pastor Brad Hamby shares what it was like to pour everything he had into ministry while still struggling financially. He talks about the tension of loving God, serving people, preaching, and still feeling the weight of trying to provide for his wife and children at the same time. What began as a calling eventually forced him to confront deeper questions about faith, provision, identity, and what it really means to trust God when life is not adding up the way you expected. This conversation also goes into the pain of church leadership wounds. Brad speaks candidly about serving under insecure and unhealthy leadership, what he calls “poisonous power,” and how difficult it was to remain honorable in environments that were no longer healthy. He shares one of the lowest moments of that journey, when people left, support disappeared, his income dropped drastically, and he found himself helping others load church items into their trucks while everything around him looked like it was falling apart. But this episode is not just about pain. It is also about wisdom, humility, gratitude, and the way God protects us even through disappointment. Brad talks about how God kept him from too much exposure too early, why fast growth can outpace character, and how the Lord taught him not to sacrifice his family on the altar of ministry. He also shares insight on giving, honoring the voice of God, spiritual maturity, and the importance of learning how to hear God clearly in both ministry and business. This episode is for the person who has ever wrestled with church hurt, financial frustration, leadership disappointment, or the pressure of trying to serve God faithfully while carrying real life responsibilities. It is also for anyone trying to build something with God without losing their peace, their family, or their heart in the process.
Christians are often tempted to believe that in order to be used by God they have to create their own path. Yet how freeing would it be to know that God already has a path marked for you to follow? In this sermon, Pastor Brad helps us see, from the life of Moses, how taking matters into our hands doesn't always work out the way we want it to.
This week, Pastor Brad discusses elders and the requirements laid upon them and the congregation they serve.

In this message, we see that Jesus still meets people right in the middle of fear, shame, and uncertainty. He does not wait for us to get everything together. He steps into our mess, shows us His scars, speaks peace, and reminds us that hope is alive. If you have ever felt stuck behind fear, regret, or doubt, this message is for you.Scripture: John 20:19-29In this message: • Jesus appears in the middle of fear • Jesus appears with scars, not shame • Jesus comes back for doubters • Blessed are those who have not seen and yet believe
Continuing in our sermon series on 1 Timothy, Pastor Brad discusses the implication of our passage for church leaders and the church's care for it's body.
In this episode, Pastor Brad interviews Pastor Dustin Kleinschmidt, author of The Wilderness Way. Dustin shares his personal journey of faith, beginning with a childhood marked by trauma and growing up without a Christian background. As a teenager, he encountered Jesus through a Christian youth group, where he found the sense of community and belonging he had been missing. During his college years, God continued to shape his life by placing mentors and people around him who discipled and encouraged him in his faith. During that time, Dustin also met his wife, and together they began building a beautiful family with their two sons. As his faith deepened, he sensed a calling into full-time ministry. Years later, after a particularly stressful season of leadership, Dustin experienced a two-year struggle with anxiety and depression. In this conversation, he reflects on the lessons God taught him during that difficult season and how those experiences inspired his book, The Wilderness Way. Dustin shares how the wilderness seasons of life, though painful, can become places where God forms deeper faith, healing, and hope.
