Since meeting Zakk in 2020, in between lock-downs at a local Crossfit gym, I have now seen him DJ at multiple Crossfit competitions around the UK and he delivers absolute bangers every single time. With Zakk recently landing a job working for FitAid & his recent DJ sets at Wodapolooza and the Crossfit Games semi finals, I had to get him on the podcast for a good chat. Albeit straight after a brutal workout at Eleven Eleven Sports Performance, I really enjoyed this one.
Today Adrian and Freya talk about what got her into CrossFit, which may surprise some of you as she admittedly got in the training just to compete! She discusses her experiences as a young athlete and how shes learned many lessons in her few short years in the sport of CrossFit. She also talks about not being able to compete in person until Wodapolooza this past year in Miami where she took 10th in a stacked field of ladies. Now she finds herself under the tuteledge of Michele Letrende and rubbing shoulders with some of the fittest athletes in CrossFit Games history, specificaly in Pat Vellner and what that is like for her. Freya has big intentions this year, and she doesn't hold back in sharing them with us today. She's focused and ready for her opportunity at the Atlas games in just a short time.
