When 40-year-old Australian hotel manager Jason Rigby was found stabbed to death in his luxury Fijian resort apartment, local authorities instantly ruled it a suicide. His devastated Gold Coast family refused to accept the narrative, launching their own relentless hunt for answers. After hiring a private investigator, they exposed critical gaps in the initial police investigation, including a mysterious knife and a missing phone, forcing the case to be reopened as a criminal inquiry. Jason's sister-in-law, Jess Rigby, is advocating for her brother-in-law. This story is about their families' exhausting fight against international red tape and the critical piece of evidence currently sitting with Australian authorities. Matty Dalrymple talks with Austin S. Camacho about CONFLICT, CHARACTER, AND MOTIVATION, including why conflict is about opposing goals rather than violence, how to find conflict in every scene including ones between characters who agree, how internal conflict distinguishes heroes from villains, why motivation has to be personal to feel real, how to make large-scale stakes relatable by grounding them in a character's specific fears, and why ROCKY is the perfect example of a protagonist who states his true goal out loud. What if the iconic blue-and-white pottery sitting on your grandmother's mantle was actually the key to an art history mystery? In this episode of *Now I've Heard Everything*, host Bill Thompson sits down with decorative art advisor, author, and former *Antiques Roadshow* expert Genevieve Wheeler Brown to discuss her new book, *Beyond Blue and White*. Genevieve shares the serendipitous story of stepping into a quiet New York City townhouse and discovering a rare cache of 17th- and 18th-century Dutch Delftware. What unfolded was an incredible "who-done-it" that revealed the hidden, powerful history of women in the arts and financial history. From female pottery owners who grew up down the street from Vermeer to the Gilded Age wives who bypassed sexist museum boards to found their own institutions, this episode explores how decorative arts served as a gateway to independence for women throughout history.Get your copy of Beyond Blue And White by Genevieve Wheeler BrownAs an Amazon Associate, Now I've Heard Everything may earn a commission from qualifying purchases.Chapters:01:16 – Porcelain vs. Earthenware: The 9th-Century Imitation Game 02:02 – From *Antiques Roadshow* to a New York City Mystery 03:41 – The Secret Women Entrepreneurs of the Dutch Golden Age 05:14 – Craft vs. Art: From Everyday Tables to Royal Commissions 07:03 – Financial Literacy and Equal Rights in the 17th Century 08:12 – The Golden Age of Archiving and Connecting the Dots 09:14 – Gilded Age Rebels: How Women Built Their Own Museums 10:48 – A 5-Year Writing Journey Born Out of a Zoom Lecture 14:00 – Getting Lost in the Smithsonian: Childhood Inspirations 16:38 – The Centennial Exposition of 1876 and the Women's Pavilion 18:11 – Ceramics as a Gateway to Women's Suffrage and Independence 20:02 – The Science of Cobalt Blue: Technology Thinner Than Porcelain 21:46 – Is There Valuable Delftware Hiding in Your Attic? 22:51 – Wrap-up & Where to Find *Beyond Blue and White*Guest InformationGenevieve Wheeler BrownWebsiteSocial:Facebook Instagram 1988 interview with Alex HaleyEasier, more confident everyday conversation: "The Everyday What To Say"For more intriguing and engaging interviews each week, subscribe now on:Spotify Apple Podcasts YouTube

We don't often have politicians on True Crime Conversations. But when a domestic violence incident is reported to police every three minutes, the people making the laws and setting policy have a critical role to play. NSW Police and Counter-Terrorism Minister Yasmin Catley joins Gemma Bath for a rare conversation about the state's response to domestic and family violence. From the results of Operation Emme Rock, which saw almost 1,000 high-risk offenders arrested in just four days, to the introduction of coercive control laws, Catley explains what's being done to prevent violence and protect victim-survivors. The discussion also explores the warning signs that are too often missed, the challenges police face, and whether the justice system is doing enough to stop abuse before it escalates. Send us Fan MailWatching your child step into independence can be the proudest moment and the most unsettling one. Graham Clark joins us to speak honestly about what happened when his son Bradley, an autistic young adult, moved into his own home and Graham's full-time carer role began to change. What do you do when the routines that once held you together disappear, and the question “Who am I now?” will not go away? We talk about carer identity and why so many parents lose themselves in survival mode. Graham shares what burnout looked like for him, how carrying every decision became a “burden”, and why building a team around your loved one can protect your mental health. He also opens up about the darker stretch of uncertainty and grief that followed the transition, the isolation of having no support network for himself, and receiving a PTSD diagnosis in 2023. Therapy becomes a turning point, not as a quick fix but as the steady maintenance that helps him notice early warning signs and respond with care. You will also hear practical guidance on disability support in Australia and the NDIS space: finding the right support workers, relying on word of mouth, letting an established team mentor new staff, and taking safety seriously with checks and qualifications like Certificate III and NDIS screening. We finish with a grounded reminder that asking for help can start with one call to a helpline, your GP, or services like Beyond Blue and Carer Gateway. If this resonates, subscribe to the Empowered Parent podcast, share the episode with a fellow carer, and leave a review so more families can find it. danabaltutis.com, mytherapyhouse.com.au, https://mytherapyhouse.com.au/your-childs-therapy-journey/ https://www.danabaltutis.com/services
What if the leadership skill your team needs most is not sharper strategy or faster execution, but a leader who genuinely cares and knows what to do when things get hard? I sit down with Graeme Cowan, a leading voice on workplace mental health, resilience, and leadership, and a founding director of R U OK Day. Graeme also shares his own lived experience of depression and the long road back, plus the purpose that came from turning struggle into service. We dig into why caring leadership is not soft and not in conflict with performance. It is how you create sustainable results without losing good people to burnout. We talk about “mood contagion” and why your energy sets the tone, then get practical with Graeme's moodometer framework so you can notice early warning signs while you are still in the amber zone. If you lead a team, support leaders, or work in HR, you will hear clear ways to protect your own wellbeing while still showing up for others. From there, we move into crew care: belonging, psychological safety, and growing together. Graeme shares simple rituals that build trust fast, including a powerful approach used in elite teams. We also cover red zone care and Graeme's I CARE framework so you can support someone in distress with empathy, without trying to be their therapist, and know when to guide them toward EAP, a GP, or helplines like Lifeline and Beyond Blue. If you want practical tools for burnout prevention, employee wellbeing, and building resilient teams, hit play. Then share this with a leader who needs it, subscribe on your favorite podcast app, and leave a review so more people find these conversations. What is one small act of care you will practice this week?

In 2024, the world learned the name Gisele Pelicot. Between 2011 and 2020, she was drugged and raped in her home in France by her husband, Dominique, and dozens of other men while she was unconscious. In a landmark trial, the then-72-year-old Gisele waived her right to anonymity as evidence revealed at least 200 rapes, many of them filmed. Dominique recruited men through a sex chat website, giving detailed instructions on how to abuse his wife. But this is not an isolated case. In 2026, CNN uncovered allegations of a global network of men in group chats sharing tips on drugging and raping their wives, alongside more than 20,000 “sleep content” videos. Investigative journalist Saskya Vandoorne joins us after infiltrating these groups and speaking to survivors. LINKS Learn more about CNN's investigation here. In 1991, a fire at an Austin yoghurt shop led firefighters to a scene so horrific it would haunt them forever: four teenage girls murdered in one of Texas’ most shocking crimes. The Yoghurt Shop Murders became a case that devastated families, traumatised a city, and remained unsolved for more than three decades. Now, thanks to advances in DNA technology, investigators believe they’ve finally identified the killer. Margaret Brown, director of HBO and A24’s The Yoghurt Shop Murders, explains the wrongful confessions, the families’ fight for answers, and the extraordinary twists that changed everything. Suggest an interview for Cheryl Lee or let us know who your favorite interviewee is so farJoin Cheryl Lee - That Radio Chick on STILL ROCKIN' IT for news, reviews, music and interviews with some of our favourite Australian musiciansA lot of festivals chase scale. Greg Donovan chased a feeling: live Australian music under huge outback skies, surrounded by people who actually talk to each other. I'm Cheryl Lee, and I'm joined by Greg, the founder and organizer behind the Big Red Bash and the Mundi Mundi Bash, to unpack how a remote desert idea turns into one of the biggest events in Outback Australia. The surprising part is where it begins: fundraising runs for his son Stephen's Type 1 diabetes, a John Williamson moment on Big Red, and a spark that said, “What if more people could experience this?”We get into the real mechanics of building an outback music festival from scratch: learning production costs the hard way, pushing through early losses, and the career turning point that came with redundancy after decades in insurance. Greg shares how booking major Aussie acts helped the Big Red Bash find its audience, and why the Mundi Mundi Bash near Broken Hill was created to be more accessible for caravans, motorhomes, and travelers who want red dirt magic without the longest haul. The conversation goes beyond the lineup into what makes these events feel like a community: Big Blue Day for mental health fundraising with Beyond Blue, world record attempts, bush dances supporting the Royal Flying Doctor Service, and a culture of costumes that ranges from Tina Turner to Mad Max.We also talk Mad Max filming history on the Mundi Mundi Plains, what surprised Greg most about touring artists, and the economic boost the festival brings to towns across the region. If you love Australian music, outback travel, and the behind-the-scenes reality of festivals that survive tough years, hit play, share this with a friend who needs a road trip, and subscribe plus leave a review so more listeners can find Still Rockin' It.What is all the Mundi Mundi Bash goss? In August 2025, two Victoria Police officers were shot and killed while executing a search warrant at a regional Victorian property linked to Desmond Filby, also known as Dezi Freeman. A third officer was injured, and Filby vanished into the bush, triggering a seven-month manhunt that gripped the nation. The case began with a child abuse investigation and ended in March 2026, when police found Filby hiding in a shipping container and shot him dead after he threatened officers with a stolen police gun. In this episode, we unpack the tragedy, the investigation, and the dramatic final chapter of one of Australia’s most confronting police operations. LINKS Watch Dezi Freeman: The Hunt on 7Plus here. Grant Arnott built Click Frenzy from his bedroom into Australia's most iconic online sale event. Then one private equity decision cost him nearly everything, including, for a while, his reason to stay.He chose this conversation over every other request. When Click Frenzy and Power Retail went into receivership in March 2026, interview requests came in from multiple outlets. Grant turned them all down. Add To Cart was the only interview he agreed to do.Grant founded Power Retail in 2010 as a one-person media business built to champion Australian ecommerce. Two years later he launched Click Frenzy, Australia's original online mega-sale event, modelled on the US Black Friday format before that term had any real currency here. For over a decade he ran both businesses debt-free, funnelling hundreds of millions of dollars through Australian retailers and building the events and publications the industry grew up inside. Then he took a private equity deal. The business was profitable. It was cashflow positive. He didn't need to. He's since described it as the greatest regret of his life. In this episode, Grant tells that story for the first time.Today, we're discussing:Why Grant took private equity money when Click Frenzy was already flying, what he hoped the partnership would deliver, and the moment in mid-2022 when it became clear the deal had fundamentally changed who he was in the business [12:40]The phone call where a board member told him he could return as CEO but only for no salary and only if he repaid his dividends, with Kylie in tears beside him. Why that one conversation became the turning point into the darkest period of his life [29:57]Standing at the kerb of a main road after board meetings and calculating his $10 million insurance policy against his debts. Grant describes weighing up, in specific detail, whether his family would be financially better off without him [37:29]The morning he burst into tears getting his coffee and knew something had to change, the psychologist he found shortly after, and why getting help was "the best money I ever spent" [40:29]Being named industry person of the year at the ORIA's while privately calculating life insurance payouts. Grant on why public recognition made the shame harder, not easier, and how he learned to deliberately separate his identity from the business. [46:18]"I'm out of business prison now": what Grant is building next, why he is a builder not a shopper, and why the AI tools available today make starting fresh more exciting than when he launched Power Retail in 2010 [55:09]Connect with Grant Arnott If you or someone you know is struggling you may contact: Lifeline: 13 11 14 — https://www.lifeline.org.au Beyond Blue: 1300 22 4636 — https://www.beyondblue.org.auSubscribe to the Add To Cart newsletter SMS us to Suggest a Guest Connect with Nathan Bush Join the Add To Cart Community

WA Police have acknowledged that earlier searches in the investigation into the Nannup Four were conducted in the wrong location. Retired detective Barry McIntosh, who has long pushed for answers in the case, believes the corrected coordinates point to a more accurate search area near Northcliffe, where clothing and the reported smell of human remains were allegedly detected after the group disappeared. Naming a person is a challenge—but one Melbourne family has made their relatives compete for the privilege of a surname. This week Monz, Stacey and Amelia are talking about the Melbourne couple who settled their surname debate with a best-of-three rock-paper-scissors showdown. So, should we be making all family decisions via a game of competitive Jenga from now on? Plus, the school holiday rule that has parents feeling like they’re back in detention. Amelia shares the enormous effort she poured into an official essay just to take her kids overseas, as we debate if ‘world schooling’ is a genius move or just a recipe for burnout. Also, it’s the show that saved our collective sanity, but behind the scenes, Bluey is the focus of a billion-dollar financial mess. We dive into the trending story and explain the details the internet seems to be missing. And, why does Mother’s Day feel a little bit… off? We’re looking into the unexpected history of the holiday and why it’s okay if you’re feeling more ‘complicated’ than ‘celebratory’ this Sunday. Reccos Amelia recommends Caper Crew; as if The InBESTigators was directed by Wes Anderson. 29-year-old Katie Haley arrived home on a Friday night in March 2018 after a long shift at a Melbourne tavern. Her partner Shane had been messaging throughout the day, calls, accusations, jealousy, and control that had continued for hours... After reaching her limit, Katie stands up and starts packing a bag. She tells him the relationship is over. She’s leaving with their daughter. But she never makes it out the door. Today, we’re speaking with Katie’s sister, Bianca Unwin, who has since become an advocate for domestic violence awareness following her sister’s death, and who now speaks openly about coercive control and the warning signs that were not fully recognised at the time. I almost didn't share this one.I've been sitting on this episode for a while now, telling myself it wasn't the right time. Trigger: I talk about ADHD, Complex PTSD and Trauma. That it was too raw. That we were heading into launch season and this wasn't the kind of content you share when you're trying to grow a business. And then I realised that thinking was exactly the problem I talk about in this episode. So here it is.Over the last six to eight months I have been through the most confronting, transformative, and ultimately liberating period of my life. And what I found underneath all of it changed everything. In this episode I'm talking about:What it felt like the first day I took Vyvanse and experienced silence in my mind for the first time at 33 years old — and why I criedWhy I almost left my relationship of 12 years — and what I found when I stayedWhat EMDR therapy actually is, how it works, and why I think every nurse who has worked in the healthcare system needs to understand itThe connection between adverse childhood experiences, nursing culture, nervous system dysregulation, and why your business hasn't grown the way you wanted it toWhy I believe no one can build a sustainable, profitable business from a nervous system that has never been taught it's safe to stopWhat has genuinely shifted for me — in my body, my relationships, my capacity, and how I move through the world — and what it means for how I now show up inside NPAThe thing I kept coming back to throughout this entire process is that so many of us nurses came to healthcare because we were already carrying something. And the system didn't heal that. It layered on top of it. And then we try to build businesses — to create freedom and income and impact — while all of that is still running silently in the background, shaping every decision, every price we set, every time we stop ourselves at the edge of the thing we most want. You cannot strategy your way out of a nervous system problem. This is the most honest episode I've ever recorded.I hope it lands for whoever needs it.Resources mentioned:Mel Robbins Podcast — ADHD and Trauma episodeEMDR Therapy — Eye Movement Desensitization and ReprocessingYoga Nidra — body-based nervous system regulation practiceVyvanse — neurostimulant medication for ADHDIf this episode brought something up for you and you're not okay, please reach out to a mental health professional or contact Beyond Blue on 1300 22 4636.

On March 2, 1998, 10-year-old Austrian girl Natascha Kampusch disappeared on her way to school. What followed was 3,096 days in captivity, hidden inside a soundproof cellar, cut off from the outside world and shaped by fear, control, and a deeply complex psychological dynamic with her captor. Journalist Rahni Sadler spent a lot of time getting to know Natascha, interviewing her in 2011 and again in 2016, and even visiting the house where she was held. In this episode, she offers insight into Natascha’s story - revealing the quiet strength, nuance, and resilience behind one of the most confronting cases in modern history.....
