We're back on track! On this episode we discuss an array of topics. The discovery of mask breath. You know, the moment where you get a whiff of your breath after you put your mask on. Now you have to go brush your teeth. ALM enthusiasts call for protests and national media cover of the murder of 5 year old Cannon Hinnat in North Carolina. A task force was formed to hunt down the child's murder. He was arrested within 24 hours of this crime and charged with 1st degree murder. Yet posts with the hashtag #JusticeForCannon are going viral as if justice has not been quickly served. Megan Thee Stallion and Cardi B released a video for thieir track WAP; sparking fake outrage in the internet streets as people complain that Meg and Cardi are not good role models for children. We have a sneaking suspicion that they never intended to be. Lastly, Beyonce set Disney + ablaze with Black is King. We give our thoughts on this piece and how you don't have to be apart of the Bey Hive to respect Beyonce's work. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/1000-miles-apart/support

Takarra drove 1,000 miles to visit Stephanie. You'd think the pandemic would be her only worry while traveling, but no. Everything that could wrong did. We still had fun together and recap the adventures in today's episode. We also discuss a Facebook live rant of a woman who posed the question, "Why don't Black lives matter to Black people" after gun violence sent many Black men to the hospital in one night. Last, but certainly not least, we discuss people who overshare on Facebook. Every detail of their life is shared like a poorly written soap opera and we read every word, mildly invested in their drama filled sagas. *facepalm* Follow us on social media Facebook page Twitter Instagram --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/1000-miles-apart/support

Is his ex entitled to feel some kind of way about the gift as long as Moneybag Yo is taking care of their child? In today's episode we discuss Jada Pinkett-Smith's "entanglement" with August Alisna - was Jada's explanation good enough or even needed since August exposed her private business? Also, is it fair for people to consider Jada a predator for having a sexual relationship with August when he was vulnerable? After all, Jada was in a vulnerable place as well, considering she and Will were separated when this entanglement occurred. We also discuss the Goya boycott after the President of Goya expressed his admiration for the POTUS in a recent press conference. Lastly, an employee of a sandwich shop was recently sent home for wearing a face mask that had "Black Lives Matter" printed on it. We explore employers right to dictate dress code for their companies, but also their responsibility to be consistent with their enforcement and whether or not that employer was more concerned that a certain demographic of their customers would be offended by the masks. We made it to 10 episodes!! In this episode we discuss Tina Fey and Jimmy Kimmel's recent proactive requests to remove their blackface episodes from Netflix and Hulu of shows such as 30 Rock and SNL and their apologies. Should we consider the context in which black face was used? Did the Black community even request this in fight for equality and police reform? Especially considering that their depictions where far from the offensive nature in which black face began. When do allow non POC's to apologize for their racist actions and/or comments and forgive them? Once they've acknowledged their wrong doings and (hopefully) educated themselves on why it was offensive, shouldn't they be allowed to move on? We also discuss does being 1,000 miles apart from each other have an impact on our friendship. It's not easy being in a long distance relationship with your BFF, but somehow we make it work...Even if Takarra can't say "I love you" to Stephanie. *sigh* Lastly, are y'all going outside yet? With Covid-19 cases spiking after states lifted restrictions, we're curious to know if you're venturing outside to resume your "normal" life or are you still taking precautions. And what happened to the Murder Hornets that were also threatening 2020? Did they decide that they'll kill the bees some other time? Hmm...
