Welcome back to another episode of Women Petpreneurs! In this special book club edition, hosts Mary Oquendo and Dr. Sacheen Mobley dive into their picks for this week's theme: biographies. With Denise off attending to family duties, it's just the two of them sharing stories that spotlight remarkable women—both historical and contemporary.Mary kicks things off with A Woman of No Importance by Sonia Purnell, the gripping biography of Virginia Hall. Virginia was an American socialite who became a pioneering spy in World War II France, facing down both enemy soldiers and the patriarchy of her day. Mary shares her admiration for Hall's courage and tenacity, while shedding light on the obstacles women faced—and still face—in being recognized for their true contributions.Shifting gears, Sacheen introduces Worthy by Jada Pinkett Smith—a contemporary memoir that explores Pinkett Smith's journey through fame, personal hardship, and her search for self-worth beyond societal expectations. Sacheen unpacks how Jada's public struggles, including the infamous Oscars incident, reveal deeper truths about agency, beauty standards, and the impact of patriarchy on women's stories.Together, Mary and Sacheen spark a powerful conversation about how biographies—whether historical or unfolding in real time—reveal the challenges and triumphs of women breaking barriers. Plus, they tease their next book pick, Brave New World, inviting listeners to read along and join in next time.Tune in for an inspiring chat that's equal parts literary love, woman-to-woman wisdom, and an honest look at how stories shape our understanding of worthiness, recognition, and what it means to blaze your own trail.

EPISODE NOTE: On the episode when talking about Jada Pinkett Smith's character, Anders gets her character name wrong. It's pronounced Jery-line. Not Jeryl-line as Anders says. Apologies for the mistake.Hello everyone! Anders Holmes is here with another solo episode where he reviews two Ernest Dickerson films - Tales From The Crypt: Demon Knight and Bones. As it is spooky season (October aka Scary Movie Month) and Halloween is on the way, Anders Holmes will be talking about some of his favourite horror films in these solo Anders Reviews episodes. Horrors film that are some of his favourites, films that have made a big impression on him and films that people should check out. Whether they be fans of the genre or not.On this episode, Anders talks about Tales From The Crypt: Demon Knight, released in 1995. And Bones, released in 2001. Demon Knight was the first of a planned trilogy of Tales From The Crypt movies. Originally meant to be the second, it was filmed to be the first Tales From The Crypt film. It was then followed by Bordello Of Blood in 1996 and then a straight to DVD film Ritual in 2002 (which Anders does not bring up in the episode). Demon Knight features an all star cast of actors and is a full blown demonic monster film with The Collector played by Billy Zane chasing down William Sadler's Brayker to a church converted to a hotel. The occupants and Brayker must work together to survive the night and Brayker must decide who shall carry on his quest in protecting the item he carries. Bones is a Blaxploitation tribute and horror revenge story that evokes the Blaxploitation flicks of the 1970s, Giallo horror and Universal Monster movies. Snoop Dogg plays Jimmy Bones, a numbers runner and gangster who returns from the dead to exact revenge on those that murdered him. Both films weren't entirely successful at the box office or beloved by critics, but they have gone on to become cult classics amongst horror fans. In Anders's words, they are two films that are worth a watch and are entertaining. We hope you enjoy this episode and stay tuned for more solo episodes from Anders during this year's spooky season. Stay tuned for our upcoming Fascism on Film episode on The Marriage of Maria Braun. Also do listen to our Robert Redford Special.Anders's screenwriter work can also be seen at work soon in the horror, car chase thriller Delivery Run, co-written & directed by Joey Palmroos. The film will be released in select cinemas in the US on October 17th and in Finland on November 5th. You can read a review about the film here on the Fangoria website. I'm back at Cesar Millan's Dog Psychology Center in Southern California for an updated talk with the Dog Whisperer. Well, kind of the Dog Whisperer. That name is part of a legal battle that you'll hear more about right now, as my son Charlie and I set up cameras and voice recorders and hang out with Cesar and his dog pack at the magical place where dogs live the good life. This is Cesar's 5th time on Really Famous. Almost as many as Tim Daly. But not quite. (More on that soon.) In today's talk, Cesar opens up about why he went to Will Smith for help. Yep. Will Smith. Cesar also reveals why he and Jada Pinkett Smith have a one-of-a-kind friendship. Cesar talks about who he's dating now, the struggles he's been dealing with lately, and why he'd never repeat the relationship his parents have. Oh and I ask him about rumors swirling around him – because word on the street is that Cesar Millan is in prison. Or worse. Next up on Really Famous, amped up with lots of new content for you: A big talk with Eric Roberts, one of the most prolific actors out there. Of COURSE I ask him about Julia Roberts. And of course he opens up. We also talk about a personal problem that's taken him years of therapy to figure out. Later this month, you'll hear from someone totally different from anyone who's been on the show. She has a big story to tell. And it involves someone you know. This podcast is also on YouTube, by the way. Which, as it turns out, is now the #1 place where people get their podcasts. Did you know that?!? Surprising, right? AND a ton of people watch podcasts on YouTube podcasts on their TVs. They may be doing something in the background, like cooking or cleaning or catching up on emails, I'm not entirely sure. But it's pretty cool. So if you want to give that a try, head to YouTube.com/ReallyFamous. You'll see a bunch of playlists on my channel, including one that says PODCAST. Click play and boom, you're in. And you'll see many more videos with my celebs as well. It's a smorgasboard. Take anything you like! And enjoy! Here's Cesar Millan. Talk to you next week on the podcast. And even sooner on YouTube and my socials if you visit me there. Cheers! For the "Audience Interrogation" cycle's Suggestion Box episode, Emilio, Julian and Madeline go with a pick that's been a long time coming: 'Bamboozled', Spike Lee's unapologetically confrontational satire from 2000 about racial stereotypes and the media. The group welcomes back multi-disciplinary artist, professor, and fellow appreciator of satire Idris Goodwin to the discussion, and consider why, now a quarter of a century after it was initially released, 'Bamboozled' continues to captivate audiences and grow in esteem. They discuss the film as a time capsule of the year 2000, how the mini DV format it's shot on creates a feeling of discomfort, how Spike Lee spotlights multiple forms of black expression in his films, the many cinematic influences the film wears on its sleeve, why Paul Mooney's scene is so pivotal to the narrative, the film's prescient "defense strategy" scene, and much more. It's an earnest and far reaching conversation about why this particular Spike Lee Joint is, whether you like it or not, one of the writer/director's most essential and important works. Be sure to follow Idris Goodwin on IG at idrisgoodwin. His latest book "King of the Neuro Verse" is available for pre-order and can be found wherever books are sold next month. You can find Keisha Mennefee at honeymagnolia.co and honeyblossompress.com We have had great luck finding excellent books from small independent publishers, and so we periodically invite one on the show to tell us a little about how they operate. Our guest this week is Keisha Mennefee, a literary strategist who has worked with high profile Black artists like Jada Pinkett Smith and Kennedy Ryan. Send us a textRemember Collateral from Michael Mann starring Jamie Foxx and arguably the biggest movie star worldwide, Tom Cruise? We didn't remember a lot from this movie either. What we did remember was that it was more realistic than your average action film of the time, and Jada Pinkett Smith seemed normal. But with these two mega stars, this director, and a supporting cast that is downright diabolical, we have high hopes.Do You Remember Liking This Movie?

Oh honey, it's piping hot today!
(00:00) Robert Kraft spoke to the media at the NFL League Meeting, and he appears quite optimistic. (16:29) Contrary to Will Smith’s Oscars slap to foolishly defend the odd relationship he’s in, his new album does not slap. Why does he reference Jada Pinkett Smith so much? Fred is not a fan, but he can rhyme. (34:42) Rafael Devers is noticeably not in shape and is holding the bat differently. Is this the reason for his recent hitting slump?

When life shatters in unimaginable ways, how do we hold on to hope and grace? How do we move forward when we are the ones who made the mistake? In this profoundly moving episode, Catherine explores a story that speaks to the heart of every parent and believer. Jennifer Eikenhorst—a devoted mother, teacher, and woman of faith—shares the day that changed her life forever. A simple left turn resulted in a tragic accident, taking the life of an innocent man. As she faced the crushing weight of grief, guilt, and endless "whys," Jen discovered a truth that is essential for all of us: God will meet us in our deepest shame, but we must choose Him. Mistakes are inevitable. Some are small, and others change lives forever. No one escapes the reality of human error. But in these moments, we face a choice: to live in condemnation or receive the grace that God freely gives. Through raw honesty, Jen shares her journey of surrender—how she learned to accept God's mercy, extend grace to herself, and become a vessel of healing for others. As the host of the Accidental Hope podcast and an advisor in the Hyacinth Fellowship, Jen now ministers those affected by accidental injury and death find restoration and faith.
