Last week, the Supreme Court struck down President Trump's expansive tariffs, ruling that they exceeded the authority given to him by Congress. The 6-3 decision saw conservative Justices Gorsuch, Coney Barrett, and Chief Justice Roberts align with the court's three liberal justices, though as Mary and Andrew explain, through different pathways: the conservative justices using the “major questions doctrine” as their guiding principle, while the liberal justices arrived at the same result through statutory interpretation and good ‘ole “common sense.” The co-hosts spend most of this episode walking through key parts of the ruling, noting Justice Gorsuch's opinion that the legislative process ought to reflect the will of elected representatives, “not just that of one faction or man.” Then, Mary and Andrew turn to a significant ruling against ICE in West Virginia, where a federal judge admonished agents for wearing masks and using unmarked cars, a presence akin to a “secret police force." And last up, a scathing review of Judge Eileen Cannon's decision not to release Jack Smith's report in the classified documents case. Hawk breaks down the FBI search warrant executed in Fulton County, Georgia, targeting ballots from the 2020 presidential election, a warrant that legal experts say should never have existed. The affidavit, authored by FBI Special Agent Hugh Raymond Evans, reads less like a credible criminal complaint and more like a greatest hits album of debunked 2020 election denier conspiracy theories. Clark Cunningham, a law and ethics professor at Georgia State University, and election integrity expert David Becker have both stated the affidavit fails the basic constitutional standard of establishing probable cause, the very threshold required before any judge, or in this case US Magistrate Judge Katherine Selenus, can legally authorize a search . The criminal investigation itself was triggered by Kurt Olsen, a Trump-appointed election denier who was on the phone with Trump on January 6th and now holds a key federal election security role. Tulsi Gabbard, the director of national intelligence, was present during the raid, which resulted in over 700 boxes of Fulton County election materials being seized, materials whose current location nobody can confirm. Meanwhile, Stephen Miller is directing a coordinated campaign using DHS and ICE to intimidate naturalized US citizens and suppress minority voter turnout, with Steve Bannon openly calling for ICE agents at every polling location. The Georgia State Election Board met and ultimately voted not to take over Fulton County elections, while Trump held a rally in Marjorie Taylor Greene's former district the same day. Fulton County has filed motions to have the warrant vacated and the ballots returned, citing Fourth Amendment violations, expired statutes of limitations, and witnesses with severe credibility and bias issues, including one who was reportedly referred to the FBI for threatening Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensberger. Episode 5155: War Brews In Iran; Preventing The Failure Of 2020 Election In Fulton County
In Episode 178 of Brad & Abbey Live, Brad and Abbey Zerbo open with a deep dive into newly stitched 9/11 broadcast footage, highlighting a missing three-minute segment from CBS coverage and audio from a local Washington reporter describing the Pentagon impact with “no evidence of an aircraft tail.” The discussion explores discrepancies between national and local reporting and raises questions about what was removed and why. Abbey then unveils a growing list of high-profile resignations following the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files, spanning finance, academia, media, and international government roles. The couple examines patterns, connections, and what these departures could signal. The episode closes with an aggressive return to 2020 election fraud analysis. They revisit Trump's pre-election warnings about mail-in ballots, share viral poll watcher footage from Philadelphia, and break down real-time vote anomalies captured on CNN involving sudden vote spikes and reversals. Framing the moment as strategic and urgent, Brad and Abbey argue that exposing election irregularities is essential before moving forward.

Last week, a grand jury refused to indict six Democratic lawmakers over a video they made addressing service members' duty to refuse illegal orders. Mary and Andrew hold little back as they discuss the government's attempt to chill free speech and persecute political foes. In an adjacent case, they review Judge Richard Leon's decision to block Secretary Pete Hegseth from demoting Senator Mark Kelly over the video, saying it “trampled on Senator Kelly's First Amendment freedoms.” The co-hosts then dig into the unsealed Fulton County affidavit and what it shows about the basis of the administration's 2020 election fraud claims, before concluding with a couple due process updates: Judge Boasberg's decision ordering the Trump administration to facilitate the return of some Venezuelan migrants unlawfully deported, and Judge Tim Kelly's decision in a case about death row prisoners being sent to a “Supermax” prison on the government's orders without due process, after Biden granted them clemency from the death penalty before leaving office.Further reading:Read Judge Richard J. On Monday’s edition of “Closer Look,” Fulton County Chairman Robb Pitts talked with host Rose Scott about the timeline of events around the FBI raid and seizure of the county’s election records. He also shared his thoughts about the unsealed warrant affidavit used by the FBI, which supports already disproven claims of election fraud in Fulton County. We also learn about how the newly formed Georgia chapter of a faith-led group is pushing back against Christian nationalism. Christians Against Christian Nationalism are among those evangelicals who are becoming more outspoken and denouncing the beliefs, which often includes underlying racism.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

They called 2020 the most secure election in American history. But now the FBI has executed a federal search warrant in Fulton County, Georgia, seizing hundreds of boxes of ballots tied to that election. Reports of missing ballot boxes, record retention discrepancies, and chain-of-custody gaps are raising serious questions about election integrity. If the election was truly the gold standard, why the need for a criminal warrant? Why alleged documentation failures? Today, Todd Huff walks through what's happening, what the affidavit reportedly claims, and why transparency — not slogans — is essential for restoring public trust.

Andrew and Mary are often inundated with news out of the Justice Department, but one item that really caught their attention this week was the DOJ's appeal to the Supreme Court to toss out Steve Bannon's contempt conviction. They begin here, highlighting Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche's wry comments on social media about the case. Next, they turn to a reality hitting prosecutors hard, especially in states ICE is targeting—that the push for mass detentions did not include any plan for the infrastructure needed to support the caseload in the courts or in U.S. Attorneys' offices. And it's pushing prosecutors to the brink. Mary and Andrew talk about one of them, Julie Le, who was fired after expressing her exasperation in Minnesota. Next, they explain why Congress was given access to the (mostly) un-redacted Epstein files and Ghislaine Maxwell's choice to plead the 5th in a congressional deposition. And last up, a beat on the Georgia ballot seizures, as Fulton County sues and a judge orders DOJ records to be unsealed in the case.Further Reading:Here is a new piece from Andrew: How Congress Can Give Epstein Survivors the Investigation They Deserve, Starting with Compelling Maxwell to Testify Sign up for MS NOW Premium on Apple Podcasts to listen to this show and other MS podcasts without ads. AP correspondent Ed Donahue reports on new details of ballot checks in Georgia. The investigation that led to an FBI search warrant began with a referral from Kurt Olsen, who served as Trump's 2020 campaign lawyer when they lost dozens of lawsuits challenging the election.
Finally, an episode about Tucker Carlson—and at an auspicious time, as his influence on the right seems only to have grown in the first year of Trump's second term. To help us understand him, we turned to journalist Jason Zengerle, who first crossed paths with Tucker in the last, halcyon days of magazine journalism before cable news and the internet, and now has written Hated By All the Right People, a book that tells two intertwined stories: the life of Tucker Carlson, and the changes in the media that he's navigated so deftly (despite some low points along the way). This conversation takes you from his adolescence to his early fame writing for The Weekly Standard and Talk to his recent interview with Nick Fuentes, and all the phases and stages of Tucker's sad trajectory toward anti-semitism and conspiracy-mongering.Sources:Jason Zengerle, Hated By All the Right People: Tucker Carlson and the Unraveling of the Conservative Mind (2026)Andrew Marantz, "The Tucker Carlson Roadshow," New Yorker, Nov 1, 2024...and don't forget to subscribe to Know Your Enemy on Patreon for access to all of our bonus episodes!
Trump has reassembled his 2020 election conspiracy team as Tulsi Gabbard leads an FBI raid in Fulton County, Georgia, seizing 700 boxes of ballots from the 2020 election. The raid represents Trump's strategy to undermine the legitimacy of the 2026 midterm elections before they even happen. With Republicans facing devastating losses in both the House and Senate, Trump knows two years of Democratic investigations and multiple impeachments await him. Will Sommer reports on the batshit conspiracy theories fueling this election attack, from Sydney Powell's Venezuelan voting machine claims to the Hammer and Scorecard supercomputer theory. Tulsi Gabbard, as Director of National Intelligence, has no law enforcement authority yet accompanied FBI agents and called Trump from the scene. The investigation resurrects discredited conspiracy theorists like Dennis Montgomery and references Hugo Chavez, dead for years, supposedly influencing Dominion voting systems. Meanwhile, Dan Bongino returned to podcasting after his brief FBI stint, immediately landing a Trump interview where the president threatened to seize control of elections in 15 states. The connection between the Fulton County raid, Tulsi Gabbard's investigation, and Trump's 2026 midterm strategy reveals a coordinated effort to cast doubt on any Democratic victories. Sydney Powell hints at something big happening, while Trump reposts QAnon theories about Italian satellites and CIA programs flipping votes. The legitimacy of future elections hangs in the balance as Trump deploys every conspiracy theory and charlatan from 2020 to poison the well for 2026. How does the arrest of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro tie in with Tulsi Gabbard being in Fulton County last week to oversee the FBI raiding 700 boxes of 2020 ballots? Is this about concocting a narrative that Maduro - who couldn't keep himself safe from extrication in his own country - altered the outcome of the 2020 election swing states like Georgia?Sounds far-fetched, right? Then, the shifting rationale for Tulsi's presence went from (Trump) "I don't know" to (also Trump) "Pam Bondi sent her." and theorizing Gabbard's role. Warnings from voting-rights attorney Marc Elias about Trump's "plan B" after failing at gerrymandering, which include political prosecutions, dry-running at ballot-seizures and more. Ron then shifts to breaking Georgia political news, including Fulton County's lawsuit demanding the ballots be returned, Rep. President Trump is still not over the fact that he lost the 2020 presidential election to Joe Biden, which might be why last Wednesday, the FBI executed a search warrant on an election facility in Fulton County, Georgia. Agents seized hundreds of boxes containing ballots and other documents related to the 2020 election. But this raid is just one of many ways the President has challenged the American election system since taking office a year ago. With the midterms just months away, we spoke with Marc Elias, the founder of the voting rights news and election-tracking site Democracy Docket. And in headlines, the government is partially shut down as Congress debates reining in immigration enforcement, the Trump administration does damage control after the latest and largest batch of Epstein files, and the five-year-old boy and father detained by immigration officers in Minnesota have been released.Show Notes: Check out Democracy Docket – www.democracydocket.com/ Call Congress – 202-224-3121 Subscribe to the What A Day Newsletter – https://tinyurl.com/3kk4nyz8 What A Day – YouTube – https://www.youtube.com/@whatadaypodcast Follow us on Instagram – https://www.instagram.com/crookedmedia/ For a transcript of this episode, please visit crooked.com/whataday

Today's Headlines: Secretary of State Marco Rubio testified before the Senate this week, defending the administration's so-called “non–regime change” operation in Venezuela while calling the abduction of Nicolás Maduro a “strategic necessity.” Rubio said Trump doesn't currently plan further military action but refused to rule it out, warning that Venezuela's transition will be slow despite what he described as “good and decent progress.” At the same time, Trump escalated tensions with Iran, posting a threat that the “next attack will be far worse” if Tehran doesn't agree to a new nuclear deal. U.S. military exercises are reportedly underway in the region, with a naval force moving closer, as Iran's foreign minister warned the country is prepared to respond immediately. The standoff comes amid massive protests in Iran and reports that tens of thousands may have been killed by the regime, though exact figures remain difficult to verify due to internet restrictions. Back in Minnesota, fallout continues from the killing of Alex Pretti. Stephen Miller acknowledged that CBP officers involved may not have followed protocol, while shifting blame toward DHS Secretary Kristi Noem, who now faces bipartisan impeachment calls. The officers who fired their weapons were placed on administrative leave days later, as new reporting revealed ICE had prior documentation on Pretti before his death. The FBI has also taken over the investigation into the assault on Rep. Ilhan Omar at a town hall event, while executing a separate search warrant in Fulton County, Georgia, tied to the 2020 election. And finally, Trump reportedly redecorated the White House with a framed photo of himself and Vladimir Putin—because subtlety remains off the menu. Episode 5102: FBI Descend On Fulton County To Get To The Bottom Of 2020 Election
Mary and Andrew make Minnesota the focal point this week, after the Trump administration's intensified immigration enforcement efforts in the state culminated in the tragic killing of Alex Pretti by federal agents on Saturday. The co-hosts detail several legal cases related to these efforts: one that challenges how ICE and CBP agents treat protestors and observers, another that aims to preserve evidence in Mr. Pretti's death, and a state case arguing that the federal government is violating the 10th Amendment and Minnesota's sovereignty rights by conducting “Operation Metro Surge”. Then, they turn to what Andrew calls an “extortion letter” sent by Attorney General Pam Bondi to Governor Tim Walz over the weekend, implying that compliance of three demands – including handing over Minnesota's voter rolls – could lead to a reduction of immigration forces in the state. Before wrapping up, Mary and Andrew review a memo surfaced by a whistleblower giving DHS officers authority to forcibly enter homes during immigration enforcement operations.Further reading: Here is a new piece Andrew and Ryan Goodman wrote for Just Security: The Top 10 Questions the Trump Administration Needs to Answer About Minnesota. Nicolle Wallace covers career prosecutor Jack Smith's testimony to Congress earlier today. Smith provided an account of the criminal case against Donald Trump for his efforts to overturn the 2020 election and end the tradition of peaceful transfer of power in the United States.Jack Smith was targeted by Republicans, who interrupted him continuously with conspiracy theories, while Democrats talked AT Smith, praising him for his service to the country and recounting Donald Trump's actions during the 2020 election and January 6th.For more, follow us on Instagram @deadlinewhTo listen to this show and other MS NOW podcasts without ads, sign up for MS NOW Premium on Apple Podcasts. SEASON 4 EPISODE 52: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (2:30) SPECIAL COMMENT: It's the Big Lie Redux. Trump appears to be planning some kind of SHOW TRIALS over the 2020 Election - and Nicolas Maduro might be his key “witness." He let it slip at the World Economic Forum yesterday. He told the audience in Davos that he will be prosecuting people over the 2020 Election. Never mind that there's nothing to prosecute anybody for; never mind that he lost; never mind that this has already been through the courts: "It was a rigged election. Everybody now knows that. They found out. People will soon be prosecuted for what they did. That's probably breaking news." In the last week, he has twice insisted Joe Biden and his administration ‘should be arrested’ and he has now said "we caught 'em." In his fugue state News Conference Tuesday, Trump had a question planted about ‘finding things out’ from Maduro about 2020. And Maduro's role in some nonsensical conspiracy theory may be the real reason Trump had Maduro renditioned from Venezuela – not drugs. Regardless: all the tea leaves suggest Trump is going to roll out the Big Lie again, this time perhaps with a phony confession from Maduro in exchange for a pardon or something. Trump is insane and desperate, so now he will actually try to focus the Department of Justice and all elected Republicans on prosecuting Biden and others. You think his Greenland Clown Show is crazy? You think his terrorism in Minnesota is crazy? You ain’t seen nothing yet. And god help us if it gets any traction. If media pushback were insufficient to counter the tsunami of propaganda Trump and his criminal gangs could generate, he might try to use the subsequent unrest as an excuse to interfere with the midterms or even rationalize violating the constitution and seeking another term. B-Block (32:30) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: Anchors Aweight, Buffalo Bills' owner Terry Pegula, who has fired his coach even though he thinks Sean McDermott did an "admiral" job. Then there's Labor Secretary Lori Chavez DeRemer and the accusations of an affair with a staffer on the public dime. She's chosen to be represented by a lawyer named Dr. Nick. And then there are America's two most overrated journalists Jim "What Is A Woman?" VandeHei, and Anderson "You Really Think Trump Is Insane?" Cooper and yes they each actually asked those questions this week. C-Block (45:00) THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL: How different was flying nearly half a century ago? There we were, the president of Cornell University and I, waiting to board a plane from New York to Ithaca and there they were, two airline employees, trying to fix a problem in the undercarriage by stuffing paper towels up into it.
