Kyle and Tim discuss their personal “engine hall of fame” selections. This, the first of a recurring series, highlights the greatest engines since the start of the automobile era in the 1880s. We also recount highlights of Kyle's 2022 SEMA road trip. Kyle recalls the miraculous sale and repurchase of his 1948 Ford Tudor coupe and explains the Saab 900 convertible origins of his famous YouTube handle, “Saabkyle04.” Tim opines that he hasn't burned enough money chasing problems on complex cars and resolves to buy a 1995 Mitsubishi 3000 GT VR-4 Spyder and the (son-of-Fisker) Karma GS-6. What is a classic car? What is an antique car? Tim and Kyle investigate with input from classic car insurance companies, Autotrader, and our own experience burning countless dollars on old cars. The team also tackles “birth year” cars and our favorites from Kyle (1989) and Tim (1984). Our only rule is that the car must have been available for sale as a new automobile during those birth years; Buick's Reatta, Audi's Sport Quattro, and the Cadillac Eldorado Convertible feature prominently!

Kyle returns to his roots with YouTube car reviews: both EV and ICE performance are on the menu! Tim reviews the recent market for upcoming collector cars including modern GM and Toyota SUVs. Kyle and Tim talk dream cars, nightmare cars, and lessons learned buying both. Kyle recounts misadventures with Fords, Jaguars, and Chevrolets. He once bought a Jaguar Mk VIII held together by rivets and bondo – and powered by a Ford mill! Tim recalls all the lessons he learned from trying to feed two aging Audi S8s and an impulsive fling with the original Fisker Karma (yes, he did!). Tim ponders whether he's on a path to self-destruction in his search for a 1957-1958 “Forward Look” Mopar.”

In 4WD podcast #2, Tim and Kyle discuss the current state of their garages. Kyle recently welcomed a two-tone 1956 Ford Fairlane Crown Victoria to his fleet and continues to make incremental improvements to his '56 Thunderbird.
