You walk down the street and there's barbershop after barbershop- with at least 10 or more barbers in there. Every single barbershop is busy-& everyone has their own clientele, everyone is booked and clientele continues to come in and out. Nobody is worried who's busier than who, sometimes clients jump from barber to barber because they want a specific time, maybe they didn't vibe with you (and to be honest.. who wants to sit in a chair and not vibe), maybe you're not a bad barber and you just don't know how to cut their texture hair- it's not worth belittling yourself as to why someone stopped coming to you. Worry about the clientele you do have and let the others go! Do you think INNOUT is worried what a McDonalds across the street is doing? some people prefer convenience over quality- and that's ok! some prefer McDonalds over InNout& THAT'S OK! remember that its not you, and even if it was you .. Storyyyyyy Tiiime from the audience! Have you ever made a BFF at a beauty school and thought "wouldn't it be sooo cool to open up a shop with my new bff that I made at beauty school because we both just love to do beauty stuff and we get along so great right now?" said no one ever! 9/10 times the friendship ends up on bad terms, someone always will go more above and beyond, one of you will have business booming and one will start to be a hater and have resentment.. so our advice is just don't. We are begging you to open a spot on your own and be financially and business ready!
Have you ever wondered how much money you need to save to open your own suite? Don't panic! It's an investment not a loss. Having mutual respect for someone's time and money in the business industry is very important. However you set boundaries/policies wether it be taking
Investing in your education by taking a class is not only a tax write off, but an opportunity to create long term growth in yourself and your business. So what's holding you back? There's two types of licensed professionals. The 1099's and the W2's. There's nothing wrong with either one, you can start as a employee (w2) and end up growing into a 1099(solo) or maybe you started strong as a 1099 and decided to kick back and be a w2! We all have a list of pros and cons of what route would be best - BUT it's whatever would make you be the best version of yourself for your business. Do you like freedom and being your own boss? Take the bus to 1099 route. You like having set hours, and healthcare? W2 is where you should be. Cory & Mayra had similar experiences being employees to franchises that molded them, and taught them how they wanted to run or not run their businesses! #bossbabepower whatever you decide - WE ARE HERE FOR YOU!
Imposter's syndrome is when you doubt your skills, talents, or accomplishments and have internalized fear of being exposed as a fraud. Unfortunately- it happens to the best of us. Doubt will creep up when you least expect it or even when you think you deserve to have that doubt over mistakes and convince you that you are a FAKE because you are so "horrible" at you are job! We talk about how our internal dialogue affects us and what we can do to overcome those small bumps on the road. Join Dr.Cory and have a therapy session with Mayra over her recent experiences.
