The Young Adult Ministry of Faith Chapel San Diego believes this podcast to be a rich spiritual investment into your walk with God. Take your walk with King Jesus to another level! The passionate Christian lifestyle is the only way to roll.
Sometimes it’s hard to see the significance in the plan God has for you. It’s easy to feel insignificant when you can’t find the purpose in your life. Some things in life are worth going back and taking another look. It’s time to go back and “look again” at the thing you’ve deemed insignificant.
How far can desperation take you? We have some amazing Biblical examples from Mark chapter 5 of how far it can take 2 individuals. When you're motivated from a place of desperation, incredible things can happen. How do we live desperate for the things of the Kingdom on a daily basis and leverage Kingdom realities into our world today? Let's dive in.
The man possessed with a legion of demons has one encounter with Jesus that so radically changed him...it also prepared an entire region for Jesus. Jesus, and His disciples, sailed across the Sea of Galilee, endured and calmed the storm, because Jesus was on mission to find this one man. The potential inside this one individual was greater than perhaps anybody thought. The devil knew this and stacked the deck against him...but Jesus wasn't letting that happen.
There is so much that takes place in an unseen realm. There are bigger things happening all around us that do not appear big to the naked eye. In fact, much of the time, they appear rather small...much like the beginnings of Christianity. If we can learn to recognize and honor the small beginnings of things, I think we'll find ourselves positioned for some remarkable BIG things happening, right in our midst.
Jesus was in an entirely different state of being in the middle of the storm than the disciples. He was completely at peace and at rest. They were freaking out...losing their minds. Perhaps His state of being is an invitation to transform ours. Where He's at...isn't just where we should be...but a means of how to get there. Let's dive into this incredible invitation to truly "altar/alter" our state of being.
Joel takes us into an incredible passage of Scripture with some FOR TODAY implications. Jesus, in a monumental moment asking His disciples to stay awake, to watch and pray with Him has much to say to us here, towards the end of 2020. What's He saying specifically to you?
What is the purpose of the light that we carry? Are we stewarding well the Kingdom seeds landing on our soil and are we being responsible over the light that we carry...or worse yet are we hiding it? Pastor Josiah takes us on a journey to understand how to be visible yet disappear at the same time, where all people see is Him. Shine on.
One of Jesus' most notable parables, the parable of the sower brings us some fresh thoughts concerning the heart. Are you capable and ready of receiving whatever the Lord may be speaking to you in this present moment. If the heart gets ready, you'll seek Him unlike ever before! He becomes the desire of your heart in all things.
Have you ever felt like you didn't belong? You perhaps felt you were unwanted or even undesired. Have you ever felt that way with God? Sure, you probably know that He accepts you and loves you, but do you really FEEL that? You're His adopted son or daughter. He has chosen you. It was His choice...and He chose you. He wouldn't take back that choice for anything or anybody else. He wants you...PERIOD! Believe it. Feel it. Experience that reality
Continuing in our journey through the book of Mark, Pastor Josiah takes us into some wonderful moments Jesus had in a particular place. Furthermore what that means for us today is breathtaking. This is for everybody! I fit in the Kingdom of God. I'm wanted and there's something only I can contribute to the Kingdom of God.
Jesus' great intention was to get the life-transforming message into the people's hearts. But, through obedience to the Father, He prepares their hearts to make sure it sticks by a miraculous adhesive. This was not random happenstance. This was divine wisdom and strategy from Heaven...and it still works today.
Jesus steps into a synagogue and calls forward a man with a deformed, withered hand. But He doesn't just minister to the man, He also creates a powerful object lesson for the critically watching religious leaders that were there. They were looking at Jesus, just with all the wrong intentions. Are you willing to step forward when Jesus says come? What if He asks you to do something you know you can't do? Take the risk. Take steps of faith. Watch Jesus without any stones of accusations on your pockets...watch Him to learn how to live!
Are you the dominant influence when you're around people? If not, you'll always have to be careful who you're around. Jesus hung around people He knew He was influencing into the Kingdom. Pastor Josiah also takes us into some context concerning remaining pliable, ready for new wine and some thoughts concerning the Sabbath and the year of Jubilee - which Jesus changed at the Cross.
There's a connection between physical affliction and sin. Both in the old and new testaments it's covered. Jesus addresses it directly at the beginning of Mark chapter 2. Pastor Josiah takes us deeper into connecting these 2 dots while downloading revelation from the heart of the Father in relation to the two. One thing is clear...The Father cares about healing our whole being. Primarily what is eternal.
We're designed to experience God is the most intimate ways possible. Not just reading, or even talking...but something deeper. The same is true for how we interact with each other, or experience each other. This truth bleeds into our relationship with Him. How do we deal with healing? Is it God's intention to heal? Does He want to? Is He willing? We're left with so many questions, usually based off of our own life-experiences and trying to reconcile what we read in the Scriptures. There's much to uncover concerning this topic, Pastor Josiah tee's up this topic of discussion which will be visited again and again throughout the Gospel of Mark.
Jesus is building His team and a Kingdom Message...how in Capernaum where He's setting up base camp and He's not only preaching the message, but He's demonstrating the authority and power He has over sickness and the demonic realm. This is taking place both in the church and in the homes. It's one thing to be able to talk, its quite another to be able to talk the talk and walk the walk...JUST LIKE JESUS!
At the very beginning of Jesus' ministry, the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the wilderness to be tested by the devil. It was a proving ground to show Jesus and the world how completely ready He was for the task at hand. If we have fractions in our obedience we'll have fractures in our integrity. It's crucial to be tested to ensure we're ready for all He leads us into. Those all around are holding out for our full obedience and in tact integrity.
There's a lot of action packed into a few short verses. Jesus' water baptism is a monumental moment in time filled with revelation and insight for personal application. The story, laced with Beloved Identity is one rich to dig into. Pastor Josiah takes us into this set of verses, track with us!

Easily the most controversial, and arguably the one of the most beneficial of gifts is the gift of tongues. Utilized for both private devotion and public edification, this wonderful gift is monumental concerning the spiritual development of the believer and the Church. Breaking down it's functionality and it's place in a church service is key to moving forward with clarity and power, which we desperately need.

Though it's inarguable that Spiritual healing is His primary concern, it does not mean that He doesn't care about the rest of us. As the Healer, He is looking to heal...all of us...from everything.
Without faith it is impossible to please God. There are times when a divine induced deposit of faith comes into us for a specific purpose and it's amazing what can happen in those moments. But we should not always depend upon that faith to come straight from God all the time. We have a measure of faith, a seed of faith that's designed to mature and grow. We need to see that faith develop, then watch what God can and will do through our willingness to believe.

We all need to take ownership for what the Lord is doing in our own backyard. As Believers, we're not called to spectate, but to participate in what He's doing. LET'S DIVE IN...IN PRAYER AND WORSHIP, PREPARING THE ATMOSPHERE FOR FIRST LOVE CONFERENCE 2019.
Discerning of spirits is far more than just recognizing when angels or demons are at work. It's really discerning the spiritual realm. Both good and bad. Growing up, I often felt that this gift had a negative connotation to it. As if, it was some God-given insight to see what the devil was up too. What if this gift is better utilized to recognize what the Lord is up to in any given moment. Both sides of the coin have their place. All of us are called to recognize what's happening in the spiritual world around us.
