From the very beginning, God designed us to work. Working is how we live and rule in God's world, but since the Fall, we, as the workers, act unfaithfully. The Proverbs give us the portrait of a faithful worker who is righteous, diligent, and prudent, but we can't transform our work ethic on our own. We need the work of the Faithful One to transform us so that our faithful work can exalt our faithful Savior.

In marriage, a husband and wife learn to love as Christ loves: with patience, sacrifice, forgiveness, and joy. Through kindness, honest conversation, and prayer, spouses become a witness of God's love to their children, their community, and our world. If you are married, renew your vows to the Lord and one another. If you are dating or preparing for marriage, seek a strong foundation in the Lord. To all who live their marriage covenant, thank you for your faithful witness!
The Faithful OneJanuary 11, 2026 • Devon Accardi • Luke 4:1–13In Luke 4, Jesus faces three temptations in the wilderness by Satan: provision (bread), authority (kingdoms), and acclaim (prove yourself). Devon frames temptation as “hunger,” the pull to satisfy God-given desires in our own time and our own way. Jesus resists by standing firm in his identity as God's Son, walking with the Spirit, and answering with Scripture. Devon looks back at Jesus' genealogy listed in chapter 3 and Luke's deeper purpose: by placing Jesus' genealogy back to Adam, Luke presents Jesus as the true Adam/Noah/Israel—God's faithful representative who succeeds where every previous “son” failed in the wilderness pattern of testing and collapse. What would it look like for you to (more fully) submit every aspect of your life to God?7. In Psalm 95:7b-11 God calls us to trust him, the Faithful One, who always keeps his promises to his people. Why is it hard to trust God and his promises?8. This final Section of Psalm 95 is a warning to us. It is a call for us to guard against hardening our hearts. In 1 Corinthians 10:11, we read "Now these things happened to (the people of Israel) as an example, but they were written down for our instruction, on whom the end of the ages has come. Is it biblical to walk through life alone? How does community impact our faith? When my children were young, and I still worked outside of the home, I spent some time as a Bible study leader in our church's women's ministry. TODAY'S SCRIPTURE: GENESIS 11:26-32 - 26 When Terah had lived 70 years, he fathered Abram, Nahor, and Haran. 27 Now these are the generations of Terah. Terah fathered Abram, Nahor, and Haran; and Haran fathered Lot. 28 Haran died in the presence of his father Terah in the land of his kindred, in Ur of the Chaldeans. 29 And Abram and Nahor took wives. The name of Abram's wife was Sarai, and the name of Nahor's wife, Milcah, the daughter of Haran the father of Milcah and Iscah. 30 Now Sarai was barren; she had no child. 31 Terah took Abram his son and Lot the son of Haran, his grandson, and Sarai his daughter-in-law, his son Abram's wife, and they went forth together from Ur of the Chaldeans to go into the land of Canaan, but when they came to Haran, they settled there. 32 The days of Terah were 205 years, and Terah died in Haran.
