Each of the seven churches suffered from something that had the power to hinder them from overcoming. As believers, we face the same things in a life-long battle for our soul, and for the church: a wrestling match with the world, the flesh, and the devil. Overcoming isn't easy, but if we focus on Christ, the giver, the one who already overcame the world, the flesh, and the works of the devil, none of these things will separate us from Him who's given us the key to overcoming, and that is by simple faith in Him. Believers abide in Christ as they lovingly obey the Lord.
Believers seek the kingdom of God when they store their treasures in it.
Col 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 3:16 “Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you” This is a PRESENT ACTIVE IMPERATIVE SECOND PERSON PLURAL. Notice that this dwelling is not automatic. Believers must co-operate in the Christian life as they do in salvation. The outlines of Eph. and Col. are very similar. The parallel to this verse in Eph. is 5:18! 3:16–17 There is a theological and structural parallel between Eph. 5:18–21 and Col. 3:16–17. In Eph. there is a PRESENT PASSIVE IMPERATIVE with the passive imperative our responsibility lies in being open to God's operation, the Spirit's working, and Christ's indwelling. Thus the passive imperative preserves in the grammar the most fundamental principle of God's economy, that is, that God is the One who operates in us and yet we are responsible to open to His operation, to allow Him to operate, and to cooperate with His operation. God is sovereign and we are responsible go hand in hand. “ever be filled,” while in Col. there is a Present Active Imperatives are commands that are expected to be followed not once, but as an ongoing process. “let the word of Christ dwell within you.” Also in Eph. the IMPERATIVE is followed by five PRESENT PARTICIPLES which describe the Spirit-filled life: This means, of course, the Word of God. The false teachers came to Colossae with man-made traditions, religious rules, and human philosophies. They tried to harmonize God's Word with their teachings, but they could not succeed. God's Word always magnifies Jesus Christ. It was not the word of false teachers that brought salvation to the Colossians; it was the Word of the truth of the Gospel (Col. 1:5). This same Word gives us life and sustains and strengthens us (1 Peter 1:22–2:3). The Word will transform our lives if we will but permit it to “dwell” in us richly. The word dwell means “to feel at home.” If we have experienced the grace and the peace of Christ, then the Word of Christ will feel at home in our hearts. We will discover how rich the Word is with spiritual treasures that give value to our lives. However, we must not think that Paul wrote this only to individual Christians; for he directed it to the entire church body. “Let the Word of Christ dwell among you” is a possible translation. As it dwells richly in each member of the church, it will dwell richly in the church fellowship. There is a danger today, as there was in Paul's day, that local churches minimize the Word of God. There seems to be a lack of simple Bible teaching in Sunday School classes and pulpits. Far more interest is shown in movies, musical performances, and various entertainments than in God's Word. Many saved people cannot honestly say that God's Word dwells in their hearts richly because they do not take time to read, study, and memorize it. There is (according to Paul) a definite relationship between our knowledge of the Bible and our expression of worship in song. One way we teach and encourage ourselves and others is through the singing of the Word of God. But if we do not know the Bible and understand it, we cannot honestly sing it from our hearts. Perhaps this “poverty of Scripture” in our churches is one cause of the abundance of unbiblical songs that we have today. A singer has no more right to sing a lie than a preacher has to preach a lie. The great songs of the faith were, for the most part, written by believers who knew the doctrines of the Word of God. Many so-called “Christian songs” today are written by people with little or no knowledge of the Word of God. It is a dangerous thing to separate the praise of God from the Word of God.[1] “with all wisdom” This is a play on the false teachers' overemphasis on human knowledge. The word of Christ (the Spirit-filled life) is true wisdom. Wisdom is a person (cf. Prov. 8:22–31) and a lifestyle, not isolated truth or creeds. “with psalms” The NKJV and NASB translations imply “teaching with songs,” but the NRSV and NJB imply “teachers with songs in their hearts.” Psalms were, of course, the songs taken from the Old Testament. For centuries, the churches in the English-speaking world sang only musical versions of the Psalms. I am glad to see today a return to the singing of Scripture, especially the Psalms. Hymns were songs of praise to God written by believers but not taken from the Psalms. The church today has a rich heritage of hymnody which, I fear, is being neglected. Spiritual songs were expressions of Bible truth other than in psalms and hymns. When we sing a hymn, we address the Lord; when we sing a spiritual song, we address each other. Paul described a local church worship service (1 Cor. 14:26; Col. 3:16). Note that the believer sings to himself as well as to the other believers and to the Lord. Our singing must be from our hearts and not just our lips. But if the Word of God is not in our hearts, we cannot sing from our hearts. This shows how important it is to know the Word of God, for it enriches our public and private worship of God. Our singing must be with grace. This does not mean “singing in a gracious way,” but singing because we have God's grace in our hearts. It takes grace to sing when we are in pain, or when circumstances seem to be against us. It certainly took grace for Paul and Silas to sing in that Philippian prison (Acts 16:22–25). Our singing must not be a display of fleshly talent; it must be a demonstration of the grace of God in our hearts. Someone has said that a successful Christian life involves attention to three books: God's Book, the Bible; the pocketbook; and the hymn book. As a believer grows in his knowledge of the Word, he will want to grow in his expression of praise. He will learn to appreciate the great hymns of the church, the Gospel songs, and the spiritual songs that teach spiritual truths. To sing only the elementary songs of the faith is to rob himself of spiritual enrichment. Before we leave this section, we should notice an important parallel with Ephesians 5:18–6:9. In his Letter to the Ephesians, Paul emphasized being filled with the Spirit; in his Letter to the Colossians, he emphasized being filled with the Word. But the evidences of this spiritual fullness are the same! How can we tell if a believer is filled with the Spirit? He is joyful, thankful, and submissive (Eph. 5:19–21); all of this shows up in his relationships in the home and on the job (Eph. 5:22–6:9). How can we tell if a believer is filled with the Word of God? He is joyful, thankful, and submissive (Col. 3:16–4:1).[1] The Spirit-filled life is daily Christlikeness or allowing the word of Christ and the mind of Christ to guide in every area, especially interpersonal relationships. The key is the heart of the worshiper, not the form of the music (cf. 3:17). Col 3:17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. THE SERVICE OF LOVE: The work of Christ must be done in the manner of Christ. Believers are to live and act as those who bear his name and must do nothing that would make them ashamed to say that they are Christians. This is a principle to live by: ‘whatever you do' (v. 17), whether at home, at work, in the church, or out and about. This sense of duty must also be accompanied with a sense of gratitude and note of praise, ‘giving thanks to God the Father through him'. Giving thanks declares the gratitude of grace and the praise of peace. 3:17 “Whatever you do in word or deed” This is a major spiritual truth. Believers must relate all their motives and actions to God through Christ. Every aspect of our lives is “as unto the Lord.” Believers do not live for themselves (cf. v. 23; Rom. 14:7–9; 1 Cor. 10:31; 2 Cor. 5:15; Eph. 6:7; 1 Pet. 4:11). This truth could revolutionize the modern, western, individual-focused church[1] The Name of Christ (Col. 3:17) In modern society, we pay little attention to names. But the ancient world held a man's name to be of utmost importance. Often, during Old Testament days, God changed a person's name because of some important experience or some new development. As Christians, we bear the name of Christ. The word Christian is found only three times in the entire New Testament (Acts 11:26; 26:28; 1 Peter 4:16). The name was given originally as a term of contempt, but gradually it became a name of honor. The name of Christ, then, means identification: we belong to Jesus Christ. But His name also means authority. A man's name signed to a check authorizes the withdrawal of money from the bank. The President's name signed to a bill makes it a law. In the same way, it is in the name of Jesus Christ that we have the authority to pray (John 14:13–14; 16:23–26). Because Jesus Christ is God, and He has died for us, we have authority in His name. All that we say and do should be associated with the name of Jesus Christ. By our words and our works, we should glorify His name. If we permit anything into our lives that cannot be associated with the name of Jesus, then we are sinning. We must do and say everything on the authority of His name and for the honor of His name. Bearing the name of Jesus is a great privilege, but it is also a tremendous responsibility. We suffer persecution because we bear His name (John 15:20–21). [1] Note that Paul again mentioned thanksgiving in this Colossian letter. Whatever we do in the name of Christ ought to be joined with thanksgiving. If we cannot give thanks, then we had better not do it or say it! This is the fifth of six references in Colossians to thanksgiving (Col. 1:3, 12; 2:7; 3:15, 17; 4:2). When we remember that Paul was a Roman prisoner when he wrote this letter, it makes this emphasis on thanksgiving that much more wonderful. As we review these four spiritual motivations for godly living, we are impressed with the centrality of Jesus Christ. We forgive because Christ forgave us (Col. 3:13). It is the peace of Christ that should rule in our hearts (Col. 3:15). The Word of Christ should dwell in us richly (Col. 3:16). The name of Christ should be our identification and our authority. “Christ is all, and in all” (Col. 3:11). Since we are united with Christ through the indwelling Holy Spirit, we have all the resources we need for holy living. But we must be spiritually motivated. Because we have experienced the grace of Christ, we want to live for Him. Because we have enjoyed the peace of Christ, we want to obey Him. We have been enriched by the Word of Christ, and raised to the rank of nobility by the name of Christ; therefore, we want to honor and glorify Him. Can we desire any higher motivation?[1] Mark 8:36 "For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. Have you trusted Him as your Savior? He can Save you if You ask Him based on His death, burial, and resurrection for your sins. Believe in Him for forgiveness of your sins today. “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” -John 8:32 Our mission is to spread the gospel and to go to the least of these with the life-changing message of Jesus Christ; We reach out to those the World has forgotten. hisloveministries.podbean.com #HLMSocial hisloveministries.net https://www.instagram.com/hisloveministries1/?hl=en His Love Ministries on Itunes Don't go for all the gusto you can get, go for all the God (Jesus Christ) you can get. In 2 Corinthians 12, Apostle Paul discusses his struggles, particularly a persistent hardship termed a "thorn in the flesh." He emphasizes that God's grace is sufficient and His power is revealed through human weakness. Believers are encouraged to rely on divine strength rather than personal ability, transforming inadequacies into opportunities for growth and support.
Preparing His Bride | May 17, 2025 Covenants are foundational to the spiritual journey, with each participant bringing something valuable to the relationship. When God established His covenant with Abraham, He sought a willing partner through whom He could execute His divine purposes. Every covenant that God established with humanity ultimately points to Christ, the original intention being to shape humanity into vessels that could fully carry the divine nature. The divine plan always involved humanity undergoing tests of obedience. Much like quality control in creation, these tests serve to perfect believers through patience and endurance. This process continues today, as the seed of Christ dwells within believers alongside the Holy Spirit, empowering them to manifest God's nature. The Mosaic covenant wasn't replaced but renewed through Christ. Believers are active participants in this covenant, not passive recipients. While Christ died to translate believers from darkness to light, they must willingly allow the Trinity to dwell within them and actively walk in that light. True dominion isn't about worldly power but about bringing spiritual forces under subjection through the authority received in Christ. This comes through progressive spiritual growth and discipline—consistent prayer, scripture study, and communion with the Holy Spirit. These practices aren't mere activities but essential disciplines that develop discernment and spiritual maturity. Spiritual growth has no endpoint. Even the most mature believers continue learning and developing. Challenges will arise when pursuing spiritual growth—often early in the journey before full strength is developed—but these are opportunities to rely on community and persevere through difficulties. The discipleship journey requires faithfulness and accountability. Regular fellowship, Bible study, and prayer aren't optional but foundational to spiritual development. The covenant relationship is maintained not through fear but through God's enduring love, which nothing can separate believers from. The text in 1 Samuel 28:12–20 indicates that God permitted the spirit of Samuel to appear—not through the witch's power but as an act of judgment. The medium was shocked, meaning she did not conjure him by her own abilities. This was a sovereign act of God, not the result of occult power. What does the Bible say about consulting mediums or necromancers? Deuteronomy 18:10–13 strictly forbids consulting mediums, necromancers, or engaging with the occult. These practices are called abominations. Leviticus 20:6 also warns that those who turn to spiritists defile themselves and face God's judgment. These actions are associated with spiritual deception and rebellion against God. Why did Saul seek the Witch of Endor? Saul sought the Witch of Endor out of desperation after God stopped speaking to him through prophets and dreams (1 Samuel 28:6). Instead of repenting, he turned to forbidden practices. 1 Chronicles 10:13–14 confirms that Saul died for his unfaithfulness, including his decision to consult a medium rather than seek the Lord. Is witchcraft still dangerous today? Yes. Modern occult practices—though often masked as entertainment or “spirituality”—remain spiritually dangerous. Galatians 5:19–21 includes sorcery among the works of the flesh that lead to destruction. 1 Peter 5:8 reminds Christians to be vigilant because the devil seeks to devour. Believers are called to reject these lies and cling to the authority and sufficiency of Scripture (2 Timothy 3:16–17).

As we continue to learn what God's Word teaches regarding the return of Messiah, we're going to focus attention on who will be "caught up to meet the Lord in the air" (I Thessalonians 4:17).Paul uses the brief phrase, “in Messiah,” in a very technical sense. It is found in the above Thessalonian passage in which the apostle states, "...and the dead in Messiah will rise first."We explore what it means to be “in Messiah”, who it is, who are in Messiah, and how one comes to be “in Messiah”. Once we answer these questions, then we will know those who will be "caught up to...meet the Lord in the air."YouTube: https://youtube.com/live/SiFBulfTVNASend us a text

Do you talk with believers that are apathetic towards world missions? Perhaps you're currently discipling someone who can't seem to get out of their comfort zone. If so, today's episode of the Gospel Mobilization Podcast will equip you with practical ideas as you have these difficult conversations. Our host, Dave Jacob, sat down with Scott Hildreth, the associate professor of missiology and associate dean of the ministry preparation area at Southeastern Seminary. A former missionary himself, Scott is working to educate and mobilize the next generation of missionaries. Here's what Dave asked: 1. What is your story of how the Lord “awakened the missionary within you”? 2. In a culture that values exploring the world as an opportunity to see exotic places and experience new things, how do we develop a heart sensitive to the world's vast lostness and need for the gospel? 3. In your book, you write, “Far too many of us live out the words of John Ryland: ‘If God wants to reach them, He can do it without my help.'” Where does this idea come from? What's wrong with it? What does it reveal about us? 4. According to a study from Lifeway Research, more than 2 in 3 U.S. Protestant pastors (67%) believe comfort is an idol that has significant influence on their congregations. How can mobilizers help others overcome this apathy and comfort? 5. Throughout the text you break down the Great Commission and note that it is for all believers. Unpack that a little bit for us. 6. How can mobilizers use this text as a mobilization tool? 7. What do you hope this book does for believers who read it?
If the Day of Judgment were held for Gaza alone—with no other case in history to be settled—it would still be a day of overwhelming terror and awe. We're now talking about over fifty thousand martyrs, hundreds of thousands injured, and millions of ongoing tragedies—starvation, displacement, grief—stories so painful they're almost impossible to bear. If each case took just one hour to be judged, how long would that Day last? One single case: the killer is brought to account. Then, all those who enabled him—those who helped, who made the bullet possible, who passed along the intel, who incited him with words, actions, or even a silent nod—are also brought forward. Then, what about those who stayed silent? Who walked away and gave up? Who chose their stomachs and appetites over boycotting the products of the killers of Gaza? Those who rarely brought Gaza, al-Aqsa and Palestine into their discourse, arguing that they "do not discuss politics"? Or those who tip toed around the topic, fearing for their followership, income or both? What if they, too, are called to answer? Then, what about those in power—Muslim and non-Muslim alike—who suppressed the truth and spread falsehood? Who silently celebrated the death of Gaza? Who punished those who dared to speak out, who tweeted, who raised a flag, who protested the massacre? What if they are brought forth as well? All of this for a single case of suffering in Gaza. So, what about every case of Gaza? What about every case of Palestine? What about every case of every living thing that has ever existed? That inevitable and fast approaching Day will be beyond imagination. “When the earth is shaken with its final quake, and it throws out its burdens, people will cry out, “What is happening to it?” On that Day, it will speak its stories—because your Lord will have commanded it. That Day, people will emerge in scattered groups to be shown their deeds. Whoever has done even an atom's weight of good will see it, and whoever has done even an atom's weight of evil will see it.” (Al-Qur'an, 99:1-8) The next phase.. In light of the extreme campaign of brutality in Gaza —and the near-total global abandonment of its victims—a heavy moral debt has been accumulated. Life will simply never return to how it once was before this tragedy. That chapter is closed. How Allah will settle this debt is known only to Him. But one thing appears certain: it will reach the homes of nearly every human being in the coming period. Believers must realise that what has taken place in Gaza will not be brushed aside or forgotten in Allah's records. These events were extreme in every sense of the word - in savagery, in hypocrisy, in arrogance, and in the shameful global neglect. Even if every weapon were to fall silent today, enough has already happened to warrant terrifying days ahead. It's time to rise above the noise and distractions of daily life, to brace our īmān for the phase to come—by turning back to Allah in repentance, by tightening our grip on His dīn, and – equally important - by pushing ourselves to the maximum in aid of Gaza's cause. This isn't about pessimism—not in the slightest, as the outcome always favours the righteous. But based on all what has now occurred, and based on what we know of Allah's fixed laws in the universe, the road to that outcome is going to be filled with real difficulty in the coming phase. So, register stances of piety and activism whilst you still can, stances of real reformation and change, both within yourself and your circles, even the very smallest of them at your local Masjid, at home, or even smaller. Perhaps, through our desperate efforts, Allah may spare us from what He has prepared for a world that watched and did nothing. “So when they forgot what they had been reminded of, We rescued those who forbade evil, and seized the wrongdoers with a severe punishment for their rebelliousness.” [Al-Qur'an 7:165] Ali Hammuda From https://www.youtube.com/@Ali.Hammuda/community Thank you for tuning in Peace and love always, Amber

Garth Heckman The David Alliance TDAgiantSlayer@Gmail.com Five ways to tame a lion… you heard that right. Five ways to tame a lion… yep, I have been lion taming for quite sometime now and I am going to give you some insight over the next 7 minutes! *When you wake up in the morning you are probably not thinking through the cautionary steps of dealing with 10,000 volts of electricity - being splattered with infectious blood - coming in contact with a huge anaconda - Deactivating a bomb - or worse yet, dealing with harboring bitterness. All of those things can become dangerously habitual. * Gunther Gabel Williams - BE THERE. - YOU MEAN DON'T SHOW UP LATE FOR WORK??? DONT SKIP WORK? After 10,000 performances you can tend to not be there in the cage with wild animals. 1 PETER 5:7Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you. 8Be sober-minded and alert. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.… When does a lion prowl looking for those whom he may devour? It's typically on Tuesday mornings, the reason is due to the weather patterns in the Svengali desert plains… you see the wind comes up form the south On Sunday and by Monday afternoon leading into the next day the lion… ARE YOU BELIEVING A WORD I SAY? Hey dumb dumb…lions are seeking whom they may devour EVERY DAY 24/7! Every day the enemy prowls like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. IT IS YOUR JOB TO BE THERE! BE AWARE! EVERY DAY… EVERY DAY EVERY DAY Key Verses: • Matthew 13:22 (BSB): "The seed sown among the thorns is the one who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful." Here, μέριμνα is depicted as a force that can stifle spiritual growth. • Luke 21:34 (BSB): "But watch yourselves, or your hearts will be weighed down by dissipation, drunkenness, and the worries of life, and that day will spring upon you suddenly like a trap." This verse warns against being overwhelmed by life's anxieties, which can distract from spiritual vigilance. • 1 Peter 5:7 (BSB): "Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you." This passage encourages believers to entrust their worries to God, emphasizing His care and provision. THERE ARE ACTION STEPS IN THE VERSES… -1 BE WATCHFUL for the little things - seeds - 2 Watch yourself. Its your responsibility to know what triggers you and to look for it. -3 DO NOT BE OVERWHELMED KNOW THAT THEY ARE COMING. - 4 AND CAST YOUR WORRIES ON GOD - - 5 YOU GIVE THEM TO GOD BECAUSE YOU KNOW AND CAN TRUST THAT HE CARES FOR YOU. He wants to take your worries, troubles and anxieties. • Theological Implications: The concept of μέριμνα underscores the biblical teaching that excessive worry can detract from faith and reliance on God. Believers are encouraged to seek first the kingdom of God and trust in His provision, rather than being consumed by temporal concerns. • Practical Application: Christians are called to live with a focus on eternal values, casting their cares upon God and finding peace in His sovereignty. This involves a conscious effort to prioritize spiritual growth over worldly anxieties.
Send us a textWhy does the message of the cross seem foolish to so many—and yet life-changing to others? Discover the surprising answer in Paul's letter to the Corinthians and what it reveals about belief, grace, and divine wisdom.--------Paul's letter to the Corinthians unpacks why some people embrace the gospel while others reject it. The message of the cross sounds foolish to those perishing, but it's the power of God to those being saved. Salvation isn't a product of intellect or status—it's divine revelation. The gospel defies human logic, and God deliberately uses what the world deems weak to reveal His strength. Faith comes not by reason alone, but by God's mercy and calling. Teaching regarding how we as Believers are to celebrate others that are growing their belief in Christ by the faith they put into practice and grow. Scriptural Reference: Colossians 2:4-7, 12
The Whole New Creation: Spirit, Soul, and Body — Redeemed and Protected in MessiahExposing the Lies in Today's Deliverance MovementThis teaching confronts the false idea that only the spirit is saved at new birth, leaving the soul or body vulnerable to demon possession. It affirms the biblical truth that the entire person—spirit, soul, and body—is redeemed in Messiah.1. Salvation Is Whole-Person Redemption1 Thessalonians 5:23 – God sanctifies us entirely: spirit, soul, and body. Salvation is more than spiritual rebirth—it includes the renewing of the soul and the future glorification of the body.2. Stages of Salvation (Past, Present, Future):Justification (Spirit – past): Born again (Titus 3:5)Sanctification (Soul – present): Ongoing renewal (Romans 12:2)Glorification (Body – future): Resurrection to immortality (Romans 8:23)3. New Creation Means Fully Transformed Identity2 Corinthians 5:17 – In Messiah, old things pass away.We are not fragmented beings; in the Hebraic view, salvation touches every part of us.4. Born-Again Believers Cannot Be Demon-Possessed1 Corinthians 6:19 – Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit.2 Corinthians 6:14–16 – Light and darkness cannot cohabit.Luke 10:19; Colossians 1:13 – Believers have authority and are transferred from darkness.Possession is not possible where the Holy Spirit dwells. Influence? Yes. Possession? No.5. Temptation Is Not PossessionBelievers may face external attacks (James 1:14), but nowhere does Scripture show demon possession of the redeemed.6. Walking in the Fullness of RedemptionRomans 12:1–2; James 1:21 – Renew the mind, yield the soul, offer the body in service. You are saved, sealed, and called to grow in maturity, not fear.Exposing the Roots of the False Teaching:False Claim: “Only your spirit is saved; your soul or body can be demon-possessed.”Rooted in: Pagan Greek dualism (Plato): Spirit good, body evilGnostic heresy: Secret knowledge frees spirit, ignores bodyNew Age mysticism: Rituals cleanse body/soul from “energies”These systems deny the biblical unity of the person and sufficiency of Christ's work. The Biblical, Hebraic View:• We are unified beings created in God's image (Genesis 2:7).• The Holy Spirit indwells the believer fully (John 14:17; 1 Cor. 6:19).• The whole person is redeemed, protected, and sealed (Ephesians 1:13).Conclusion:• This false teaching fosters fear, diminishes Christ's finished work, and opens doors to New Age practices dressed in Christian language. The truth:You are fully saved in Messiah—spirit, soul, and body. You are sealed, secure, and victorious over darkness. No demonic power can inhabit a born-again believer.“If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” – John 8:36“Greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.” – 1 John 4:4
Bible Discussion: We explore the contrast between weak and mature faith in the life of a believer, emphasizing that spiritual maturity is marked by freedom in Christ—not legalistic rule-keeping. A mature believer understands that salvation comes solely through Jesus' sacrifice, not through self-imposed regulations. While weaker believers often create rules to feel worthy or safe, mature believers trust the Holy Spirit to guide them into truth and righteousness, especially in morally complex areas like alcohol or sexuality. This discussion challenges us to examine where we may still be relying on rules over grace and to embrace a life led by love, not fear, trusting that true freedom in Christ produces purity, peace, and compassion—not condemnation. In 1 Peter 1:6, the Apostle Peter encourages early Christians enduring persecution, emphasizing the importance of finding joy amid trials. He reassures them that suffering is temporary and serves to deepen faith. Believers are reminded to focus on the eternal hope in Christ, fostering resilience and trust in God's promises through challenges.

Christians should prioritize fellowship and engage with one another in a way that is uncommon from the rest of the world.
Temptation is as constant and real as gravity—a daily battle that every believer faces. Ray, E.Z., Mark, and Oscar remind Christians that they are never alone in this struggle, and the enemy wants them to believe otherwise. Isolation is one of Satan's strongest tools, but God calls believers to live in the light and walk in community. When one believer confesses a struggle, another can offer encouragement, reminding them that being tempted is part of the Christian journey. A fear of the Lord becomes a shield against compromise. Every time Jesus was tempted, He responded with Scripture. In the same way, when believers store the Word in their hearts, the Holy Spirit brings it to mind at crucial moments, arming them with truth that weakens the power of temptation.Prayer is to be ongoing. Even Elijah, who shared the same human nature, prayed earnestly and witnessed the power of God. The model of praying to be delivered from temptation and evil is not optional—it is essential. Spiritual discipline plays a critical role in a believer's strength. Fasting, once a common practice in the early church, has been overlooked by many today. In avoiding legalism, many have also rejected discipline, but Scripture teaches that while salvation is a gift of grace, Christians are created for good works. Discipline, when motivated by love for God, helps conform believers to the image of Christ.Resisting temptation is not about earning favor, but about growing in Christlikeness. God has predestined His people to be conformed to His Son, and resistance is a part of that transformation. Humility is key—recognizing that apart from God, nothing is deserved but judgment. Gratitude flows from this awareness. The best way to flee temptation is to have somewhere better to run. Redirecting desires toward Christ changes the battle entirely. Believers are the reward of Jesus's obedience, and understanding His love is stronger than any willpower.Standing strong also means running with the right people. Christians grow when they walk with others who are running the race well. Community, scripture, prayer, evangelism, and fellowship all strengthen the soul. Ephesians teaches that the real battle is spiritual and that the armor of God is essential. Believers must be aware of their weaknesses, seek counsel, pursue repentance, and embrace accountability. Like Joseph before Potiphar's wife, believers must refuse, reason, resist—and then run. Those who believe they cannot fall are often the first to do so. Temptation is real, but so is the strength found in Christ.Send us a textThanks for listening! Believers in Jesus have the same calling today...
Shame. Fear. Identity crisis. Our generation—especially young adults and parents—is silently drowning in hidden battles. We long for freedom, yet so often search for it through striving, rituals, or more information. All the while, we navigate deep waters of confusion, facing demonic resistance and relentless cultural pressure. Does God still show up in the chaos? Can Jesus really meet us in our mess—just as He did the woman at the well? And when we finally meet Him — can we still find it in ourselves to wholly and completely surrender to God?In this episode of the Revelations Podcast, host Reagan Kramer welcomes Laurel Bunker: preacher, educator, and spiritual mother to many. With over 30 years of ministry in higher education and nonprofit leadership, Laurel shares her deeply personal journey from performance-based religion to radical intimacy with the Living Word. She opens up about confronting demonic oppression, overcoming self-hatred, and raising daughters in a world flooded with lies.Rooted in the story of the woman at the well, this conversation is a call to lay down shame, reclaim identity, and rise in kingdom authority. If you're weary from the fight, questioning your worth, or longing to hear God's voice again—pause. Take a seat by the well. Encounter Jesus. Surrender to God; drink deeply of His grace and be restored. Here are three reasons why you should listen to this episode:Gain biblical clarity on how to surrender to God and live fully in “Spirit and Truth,” beyond mere rituals and religion.Understand how shame, demonic influence, and the culture of people-pleasing hinder identity.Learn how a transformational encounter with Jesus breaks lifelong bondage, as told through Laurel Bunker's story.Become Part of Our Mission! I'm giving it all away for Jesus now, you know. We got to redeem the time.”The cultural tension between Jews and Samaritans sets the stage for Jesus' radical act of compassion and revelation. This moment shatters cultural shame and personal guilt, proving Jesus meets people right where they are.[9:01] Transformation and Worship in Spirit and TruthOne conversation with Jesus turns the Samaritan woman into an evangelist to her entire town. Her transformation ripples outward, showing that personal encounters with truth can spark collective revival.According to Laurel, true worship isn't tied to a location or ritual. Instead, we must act our faith through a surrendered, Spirit-filled life.Living in spirit and truth becomes more than theology—it becomes a multiplying force of freedom.[20:25] Challenges and Encouragement for BelieversLegalism, shame, and spiritual burnout are real struggles for modern believers.Laurel shares how her own religious performance led to exhaustion and how encountering Jesus brought lasting freedom.[22:51] Laurel: “I promise you, growing up all the way into my 20s, in my early 20s, I would look at Christ or images of him, or Christ on the cross, and I wouldn't know who- I didn't know who he was.”Wounds from church experiences don't have to write the final chapter of your faith. Healing and purpose remain possible when we surrender to God.Believers are encouraged to live a lifestyle of repentance, humility, and unfiltered honesty before God.[32:28] The Power of the Holy Spirit in Modern TimesThe Holy Spirit isn't a concept confined to the early church—it's a present force guiding and healing today.Laurel shares stories of spiritual breakthrough and reminds believers that revival begins with personal obedience.Following Jesus means actively listening, discerning, and stepping into purpose led by the Spirit. The call is clear: lean into the Holy Spirit's presence and let Him do the work only He can do.[40:49] Addressing Shame and Finding Freedom in ChristShame distorts identity and silences spiritual authority, but it doesn't have the final word. Laurel herself has journeyed through a valley of deep shame — but Christ's love shattered every lie.Freedom came not through hiding, but through confession and grace. Through the relentless pursuit of truth, she was able to surrender to God.Listeners are urged to stop hiding, start healing, and reclaim their place as sons and daughters of the King.[47:20] Reagan: “That's what Jesus does. He unites people. He does so because he's bringing people together through the truth of the gospel.”[48:40] Living a Life of Worship and ServiceBeing able to surrender to God and worship goes beyond music—it's found in daily acts of obedience, faithfulness, and service.Laurel encourages believers to discover how their unique gifts can be expressions of worship.Even small acts of faithfulness carry weight in the Kingdom when done in love and obedience.Listeners are reminded that God honors hearts surrendered in both the big and the quiet, hidden places.[55:16] Understanding the Spiritual JourneyLiving by the Spirit requires intentional daily surrender.Laurel explains how believers must crucify the flesh and embrace the eternal life birthed through the Spirit. The Holy Spirit becomes the source of joy, healing, and clarity in a chaotic world. It's not about trying harder, but walking in step with the Spirit who renews us from the inside out.[1:03:38] Laurel: “I refuse to give human beings and this world more praise and more of my energy and my day than I give the one who gave his life for me.”[1:12:22] An Invitation to Surrender to GodRather than striving to fix what's broken, listeners are encouraged to sit with Jesus—just as they are—and receive the healing that only His love can bring. No weapon formed against you will prosper. No lie of the enemy can stand against the truth of your identity in Christ.Say yes to restoration. Say yes to Jesus. Surrender to God and let your journey of healing begin—right here, right now.About LaurelLaurel Bunker is a seasoned preacher, educator, and spiritual leader with over three decades of ministry experience across higher education, nonprofits, and the local church.
