Love Jesus, Love Like Jesus.
God isn't afraid of our questions. He invites them! Join First Church for the series, “Why?” as we tackle common questions our culture has about Christianity. The answers can help you better understand God and grow your faith.
The world supplies many myths about how to be in a relationship. For the next sermon series, we'll turn to the One who designed us and wants us to pursue healthy, vibrant, and lasting relationships.

Are you headed where you need to go? The Bible teaches: “There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death” (Proverbs 14:12). In other words, you can be absolutely convinced you're on the right road and still end up in the wrong place. There are many different voices in our world trying to convince us to take different paths. But there's only one voice that leads us down the true path of life, and that's the voice of Jesus. Jesus defeated the grave so He could give us access to life beyond it. The resurrection of Jesus isn't just a day in history; it's the only way to find real, meaningful, and everlasting life.

Over the past six weeks, we've been in a mental health sermon series that has had a profound impact on our church family, leading many to seek help and healing. As emphasized in the series, true and lasting healing comes only through a relationship with the God who created us and calls us to cast all our anxieties on Him. Without pursuing this divine relationship, we can never truly begin the journey toward good mental health. The purpose of this message is to help our church take that first step toward healing by turning to and talking to God.
We battle burdens that Jesus wants to carry for us. We weren't designed to fight anxiety, stress, depression, fear, insecurity, and more on our own. Let't find the rest Jesus wants to give us. New sermon series, “The Battle Within,” starts Sunday, Feb. 16.

Culture is constantly shifting, and it pressures us to go along with it. As the world moves further away from God, we're called to live upstream in a downstream world. This shouldn't surprise us. Jesus warned: “I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. So be as clever as snakes and as innocent as doves” (Matthew 10:16, NCV). So, how do we do that? How do we live for God when it isn't easy? The book of Daniel is a playbook for doing this well. It will show us how to live out our faith while serving our culture for God.

The birth of Jesus is a game-changer for the world. In the midst of our stress, worry, and uncertainty, God's promise remains unchanged. “And his name will be the hope of all the world” (Matthew 12:21 NLT). Christmas reminds us just how much God loves us, and that He has not forgotten us. Hope isn't just an idea or a concept, HOPE has a name… Jesus. When Christ is in us, we live daily with the hope of glory.

The church is God's instrument to change the world. The missional reach of First Church extends well beyond The 918. It crosses international borders and reaches people in some of the most difficult situations on Earth. On December 1, Beyond Sunday will highlight and celebrate what God is doing through local and global missions partners and the members of First Church.
The story of Jesus isn't finished. What Jesus accomplished through the cross is now available to the world, and He's empowering His church to take this news to the ends of the earth. We're the next chapter in Jesus' redemptive story. We're how Jesus is carrying out the final phase of His mission to save the world. It's not just that Jesus is beside us; He's inside us, working through us to change the world. You and I are part of the greatest story ever written, as the story of Jesus continues to be told through His church.

We tend to mess up what God intended for our good. Solomon in the Old Testament was richly blessed but messed up big time. Our new sermon series, “5 Ways to Wreck Your Life" draws from Solomon's book, “Ecclesiastes.” We'll look at lessons he learned so that we can live life God's way with meaning and purpose.

Following Jesus is a way of life and the goal is a relationship with Him. Let's not aim for lesser trophies and prizes that are eternally insufficient of what Jesus wants for us. Let's "go for gold" together to learn how to become most like Jesus.

First Church is invested in the lives of the next generation. Our Summer Life events are designed to help our “NextGen” grow their faith and their relationships with peers and leaders. There is so much to share from Summer Life that we dedicate a Sunday to look at how God is impacting young lives through First Church.
If a person's mix tape is filled with meaningful songs, the Bible's "mix tape” would be the Book of Psalms. Together, we'll study several of these powerful hymns, poems, and prayers during our popular summer sermon series, “Mix Tape.” Volume 5 starts June 30!
