Week 16 Recap: Darin's Hot Hand and Ed's Christmas ConundrumThe NFL season is winding down, and the stakes for the "Big Bold Predictions" segment are higher than ever. Darin Hayes and Ed Kleese met to review a highly dramatic Week 16, which featured incredible comebacks, upsets, and holiday chaos, before gearing up for Week 17.Week 16: Darin's Strong ShowingDarin had a strong performance, netting 5 points, primarily due to correctly calling the close, high-stakes victory for the Seahawks over the Rams and, more impressively, the Bears upsetting the Packers. Darin earned high praise for predicting Caleb Williams would lead the Bears to a late-game win, which he did via an incredible overtime touchdown after a muffed onside kick.Ed, unfortunately, only secured 2 points for the week, which came entirely from also picking the Seahawks. He missed on the Bears and the Patriots upsetting the Ravens (a one-point partial credit for Darin). Both hosts expressed disappointment over the Colts' defense failing to back up Philip Rivers' valiant "Disney story" effort to upset the 49ers.The scoring left Darin leading with 77 total points to Ed's 74 as they moved into the final two weeks of the regular season. The Lions Controversy and Holiday DramaThe review concluded with a deep dive into the controversial final play of the Lions-Steelers game, where an offensive pass interference call on Amon-Ra St. Brown nullified a dramatic, potential game-winning lateral. The main focus, however, quickly shifted to the upcoming holiday schedule.Ed expressed anxiety about his team, the Commanders, playing the Cowboys on Christmas Day. Stating that he has “matured,” Ed claimed he would ignore the noon kick-off to focus on family, a statement Darin immediately declared his first Bold Prediction for the week: "Your family's going to call BS on this and you will be caught."Week 17 Predictions: Pending the PicksThe hosts transitioned to making their official Week 17 game picks. However, the discussion ended immediately after Darin's non-game prediction about Ed's impending holiday conflict. The suspense hangs in the air: who will gain ground in the final week of the fantasy regular season? We await the actual game-by-game predictions from Darin and Ed that will determine their final standings.Chalk, Upsets, and Double-Digit Dominance: Ed and Darin's Wild Week 17 NFL PicksThe NFL playoff picture is tightening, and with high-stakes games dominating the schedule, our analysts, Ed Kleese and Darin Hayes, are stepping out with some truly aggressive predictions for Week 17. From packaged Christmas Day favorites to huge underdog victories, here is a breakdown of their boldest calls, which they are betting points on.Ed Kleese: The Favorite's AdvocateEd is betting heavily on the favorites to handle their business against injury-riddled teams, particularly on the holiday schedule.Christmas Day Chalk:Ed packaged his first pick, wagering thatall three heavy favoriteson Christmas Day—the Cowboys, the Lions, and the Broncos—will win their respective matchups easily against opponents using backup or third-string quarterbacks.Seahawks Roll the Panthers:He predicts that the Seattle Seahawks will have a comfortable road trip, beating the Carolina Panthersby 10 points or moreas they fight desperately to secure their spot in the NFC West race.Browns knock off SteelersNiners Dominance: On

The AFC is wide open and Aaron Rodgers is playing very well. There is a chance the Steelers could play Denver in the playoffs. Would you sit starters against the Browns if the Ravens lose to Green Bay? The Patriots are 7-0 on the road.
Hour 4 with Joe Starkey: Dan Orlovsky said on ESPN that he thinks the Steelers victory over the Lions was one of the most impressive games of the year. Around the NFL. Three-man weave before the holidays as Ryan, Channing and Fred sit down to talk about all that's been going on after a rollercoaster of a week in sports and social media from the Sherrone Moore news to the "we didn't see this coming" NFL moments to Kai Cenat's surprise message to offering a glimmer of hope this holiday season. The unfortunate season-ending injuries to the NFL's top offensive player and defensive player bummed the sports world and now has changed the landscape of the league, with no Patrick Mahomes or Kansas City Chiefs in the post season, and the Packers loss of Micah Parsons altering their chance to play deep into January. The polarizing play by play of Shedeur Sanders is still captivating everyone whether you are completely against him or 100% with him, the debate is never ending. Who doesn't love Phillip Rivers? But the future Hall of Famer was 4 years removed from the game before returning to help the Colts save their season and Ryan has one perspective on his return while Channing has another. Sherrone Moore situation shook college sports but also affected the black community as the guys dive into the further implications from one's choices affecting a much larger group. Pivot Family! We would love to hear your feedback!Ep 278 News LinksA viral claim collapses, a van gets swiped in broad daylight, and a driverless car freezes in an alley—welcome to a week where gig work shows its sharp edges. We open with a wild “clip of the week” from a Spark delivery, then unpack the fallout from the DoorDash creator whose videos led to felony charges after she filmed a customer nude and posted his information online. What counts as evidence, what crosses the line, and how do you protect yourself without chasing clicks? From there, we dive into safety in the field: the naked stranger who climbed into a delivery van and crashed it, the simple habits that would have stopped it, and the broader need for situational awareness when you're juggling keys, phones, and doorsteps. We balance the chaos with practical wins—Octopus tablets for passive tips and engagement, plus why riders should always compare Uber and Lyft before booking. If 84 percent never check both apps, that's money left on the table and drivers feeling the squeeze.Policy and tech loom over it all. New Zealand's top court just said several Uber drivers are employees, opening the door to benefits and back pay claims. Meanwhile, autonomy meets reality: Lyft's CEO doubts self‑driving will dominate soon, even as Waymo expands to freeways while still stumbling in tight urban maneuvers. We talk costs, liability, cleaning fleets, and why geofenced pilots will coexist with human drivers for years. Add a fresh DoorDash data leak and the rise of retail partnerships like Old Navy delivery, and you can see the next phase of gig work: more services, more risk, more need for clear rules. If you care about driver safety, platform policies, and the real timeline for autonomous rides, this one's for you. A.I. concerns are front and center, evident in the staggering sell-off in Nvidia (NVDA) to close the trading week. For the Glory KC is back with the 153rd episode of the show! Before you do anything else, can you take our Sporting KC and MLS fan survey? Thanks! The main event, for the second straight week, are the KC Current who shook up the soccer world. First, Vlatko Andonovski is out as the coach but is promoted? It felt weird to us as well. Sheena and I talk through the sudden change and shed some light on the move and all the other front office changes around the Kansas City Current. Then we can't avoid the pain of discussing the premature end to the season for KC, as NJ/NY Gotham bounced them from the playoffs unexpectedly late in extra time. We break down the injuries, the decisions that led to those, the games highs and lows and everything in between. And before the sadness ends, we have to discuss the departure of Hailie Mace from the Current. And another KC Current player is on the move too. Plus, the KC Current are up for nearly all the awards.Sporting Kansas City were less in the news, but Major League Soccer on the whole made massive waves this week. First, they announced a schedule change to a "winter" schedule in 2027. In between there will be one more "regular" season, then a mini season they are calling a "sprint" to start 2027 before the full switch to the summer to spring move in July of 2027. We break down our feelings on the moves and try to capture each side of the equation (for more depth, check out my Op-Ed on the subject). The league also confirmed big changes with the Apple TV deal, including the end of MLS Season Pass.Beyond that, there are rumors of more changes, including the elimination of conferences and a new five division MLS setup. Sheena was very upset at my proposed divisions from nearly a year ago! And of course, MLS may change their playoffs again too. Before we depart, Ike Opara and Sporting KC II made news too, and SKC even signed a player, Cielo Tschantret. If only every week of the offseason was as busy as this one! It's a long episode, but maybe there won't be anything that happens this week?In the Digital Crawl, we hit on a few more topics, including:NWSL expanding to Atlanta and another city in 2028USMNT and US U-17 updatesFIFA is raising ticket prices again for the World CupMissouri State comes up short in the CUSA finalHere is a rundown of topics and start times:Vlatko is out as the KC Current coach - 9:37KC Current vs. Gotham playoff stunner - 34:30Hailie Mace departs KC - 1:09:27MLS “Winter” Schedule & other big changes - 1:23:20SKC Round-up - 2:01:48Digital Crawl - 2:07:12Upcoming GamesUSMNT vs. Uruguay, Tues, Nov 18th at 6:00PM CSTMLS playoffs resume Saturday As a special gift to For the Glory KC listeners and KC Soccer Journal readers, Backheeled dot com is giving away 30 days of their amazing, independent American soccer coverage for free. The Lions did what they needed to do, beat an ugly Commanders team. They find themselves 6-3 after a 44-22 (scoregami) win that included 3 TD's from Gibbs, 500+ yards of Offense and a couple scuffles to boot. Dan Campbell seems to have taken over play calls, will this be the route the rest of the season? Is Jomo season over? Lets go Lions.
Send us a textA milestone show with real meat on the bone: we toast 350 and dive headfirst into the most interesting week golf has seen in a while. We start on home turf—Boulder Creek running lightning fast, Legacy's greens turning to velvet, and the eternal enemy of good golf: slow play. With new GPS carts, engaged marshals, and some tough love for multi-tee offenders, we break down how a course can nudge pace back to enjoyable without alienating players. Then we head to the Internet Invitational, a rare YouTube series that earns the hype. The magic isn't perfect golf; it's format and edit. Scramble into alternate shot, teams reshuffled, real stakes, and enough personality to make you care without drowning in forced drama. We unpack what worked, what seemed manufactured, and why structure beats spectacle if creator golf wants staying power.Gearheads get their segment too. We debate Scotty Cameron's “low torque” designs—one thoughtful, one looking suspiciously like a welded workaround—and contrast them with Odyssey's tech-forward ZT lineup. Forward CG, tungsten-heavy fronts, and AI-informed faces promise straighter starts and better energy transfer. But we ask the only question that matters on a putting green: does it help you start the ball on line at your speed, more often, under pressure? Finally, the big shift: LIV moving to 72 holes. No rule-bending here; they met the OWGR standard. That's a step toward legitimacy, not a cure-all. Shotgun starts still confuse viewers, team branding still lacks soul, and broadcasts still need a cleaner story. The upside? More meaningful leaderboards and a path to points. The downside? Fans still get split fields when they want the best playing the best more often.Tap play to hear the whole ride—course intel, creator golf that's actually smart, honest gear talk, and what LIV's pivot really means. If you enjoy the show, share it with a golf friend, hit subscribe, and drop your take: Which putter tech would you trust, and are you watching more or less now that LIV is 72 holes?Support the showSpecial thank goes out to our show sponsors:
