What should you do when your child believes God isn't listening to their prayers? Many children struggle when they pray for something—like bad dreams to stop—and the answer doesn't come the way they hoped. In this episode, Elizabeth Urbanowicz walks parents through a biblical approach to helping kids understand unanswered prayer. You'll learn how to teach children what prayer really is, what Scripture commands about prayer, and how even Jesus experienced prayer that wasn't answered the way He asked. This conversation equips parents to help their children continue trusting God—even when the answer is “no” or “wait.”

When it comes to our prayer life & talking to God… there are some prayers that can feel like we've brought to God for years, even decades and yet nothing seems to be happening. Prayers that align with Gods heart, His word & His promises and yet as we've come to Him again and again, asking, seeking and knocking (just like scripture says to), it can feel like radio silence. During those times of intense praying and not seeing changes, discouragement can easily set in which can fall into:-Doubting in Gods goodness-Doubting that He hears us-Doubting that He sees us -And doubting that He even cares about us(All lies by the way)And if we aren't careful… we can believe those lies and begin to find our discouragement growing into resentment, bitterness and intense heartache. In this episode we unpack somethings we can consider during those seasons of praying and contending while we aren't seeing it come to pass YET. How we can check our hearts, shift our prayers, keep believing & moving forward with expectation that He is in fact at work. For more encouragement in your prayer life check out:Episode 69: Praying in Faith WorshipI Won't Give UpConnectWebsiteInstagram God is closer than you think! Walking with God isn't confusing. It isn't mysterious. It isn't reserved for spiritual elites. It's simple. But simple doesn't mean easy. And most of us are not stuck because we lack revelation. We're stuck because we lack consistency. In this episode, we're going back to the foundations of the Christian walk. Prayer. Worship. Scripture. The daily practices we all know but rarely commit to. If your faith feels dry, distracted, or unstable, this is your wake up call. You don't need a new strategy. You need daily faithfulness. Let's talk about what actually builds spiritual strength and why inconsistency is quietly weakening your walk with God.tagsChristian podcast, Christian faith, walking with God, Christian discipline, spiritual growth, daily prayer, Bible reading, worship habits, Christian consistency, faith habits, spiritual maturity, Christian encouragement, following Jesus, Christian lifestyle, faith over feelings, biblical truth, Christian motivation, spiritual disciplines, how to grow spiritually, Christian accountability

Do you feel worn out from trying to be a “good” Christian? Maybe you've been striving to please God, earn His affection, or live up to what you've been told a “good” Christian woman should be. But instead of feeling joyful and secure in God's love, you feel exhausted—or even hopeless. In this episode, I unpack why God isn't asking for religious performance or perfection – and how it actually blocks the intimacy He desires to have with us (and we with Him).
When you're in a long storm and your prayers seem to hit the ceiling, it's easy to assume God has abandoned you. In this episode of Chasing Happiness, Ryan DeMent unpacks three reasons God may feel silent shaping you from the inside out, nudging you toward needed change, and drawing you closer to His presence and shares how daily time with God, simplifying life, and finding a small circle of trusted people have helped him fight anxiety and find peace even when nothing on the outside has changed yet. If you're exhausted, impatient, or frustrated with God's timing, this conversation will help you shift from “Why me?” to “What are You doing in me?” and walk through your storm differently.

Habakkuk 1:2-4, 5, 12-13; 2:1, 2-4; 3:17-19O Lord, how long shall I cry for help, and you will not hear?Or cry to you “Violence!” and you will not save? Why do you make me see iniquity, and why do you idly look at wrong?Destruction and violence are before me; strife and contention arise. So the law is paralyzed, and justice never goes forth. For the wicked surround the righteous; so justice goes forth perverted.—“Look among the nations, and see; wonder and be astounded. For I am doing a work in your days that you would not believe if told.—Are you not from everlasting, O Lord my God, my Holy One? We shall not die.O Lord, you have ordained them as a judgment, and you, O Rock, have established them for reproof. You who are of purer eyes than to see evil and cannot look at wrong, why do you idly look at traitors and remain silent when the wicked swallows up the man more righteous than he?—I will take my stand at my watchpost and station myself on the tower, and look out to see what he will say to me, and what I will answer concerning my complaint.—And the Lord answered me:“Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it.For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie.If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.“Behold, his soul is puffed up; it is not upright within him, but the righteous shall live by his faith.—Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will take joy in the God of my salvation.God, the Lord, is my strength; he makes my feet like the deer's; he makes me tread on my high places. God intended for us to be holy, but are we? Today on Light on the Hill we'll be inspired by the children of Israel in Exodus chapter 39, as they did all that God commanded Moses. Seen even in the assembly of the priestly clothes. It's a good and needed reminder to us to do things exactly as God commands, and as we do, we become the beneficiaries of all that He wants to give us. Without a doubt there is only one God and we are not Him. He created us. He breathed life into us. He calls us to become what He wants us to be and only then can we do what He wants us to do. Nowhere in that divine order do we find room for self will. We'll discuss this vital truth from Exodus 39 today on Light on the Hill! So many of us grew up believing that God is disappointed in us, angry with us, or waiting to punish us for our mistakes. In this episode, Keana gently unpacks where those beliefs come from — childhood conditioning, religious trauma, guilt, and misinterpreted scripture — and replaces them with the truth of God's character: restorative, compassionate, and deeply loving.Through biblical examples, emotional insight, and trauma‑informed spiritual guidance, this episode helps you release fear‑based theology and step into a relationship with God rooted in safety, intimacy, and grace.

[This episode has special guest, John Mark McMillan, and Amy Alderman, Hayne Griffin, Joey Svendsen]Is the Bible meant to be a definitive “how to believe” manual? Is faith something "smart enough people" can crack like a formula? And what's going on with Christians who downplay God's love while camping out on Him being “just” and “holy”? (There was even a "biblical influencer" who flat-out said, “God isn't love.” Yeah… wow.)The conversation also digs into the mysterious label of a “casual Christian”—does that term actually mean anything worthy of having the terminology? And oh yeah, pan-handling. Amy Alderman, Hayne Griffin, and Joey Svendsen are joined by the one and only John Mark McMillan to discuss all of the above. What if God has been speaking all along—and we've just forgotten how to listen? In Psalm 19, David shows us that God reveals Himself in powerful ways: through creation, through Scripture, and ultimately through the transformation of the human heart. The skies declare His glory, the Word restores the soul, and the prayer at the end of the psalm invites us into honest repentance and renewal. In this episode of the Post Sunday Podcast, we explore how God is not distant or silent, but present and speaking—calling us to slow down, listen carefully, and allow His Word to shape our lives.

Sometimes our doubts feel like a monster hiding in the dark - awkward, intimidating, and bigger than it really is. We try to ignore it or hide it, afraid that admitting our questions might make us seem faithless. But the real danger isn't doubt itself; it's keeping it in the dark. In The Shadow of Doubt, we'll bring that “monster” into the light and discover that it's not so scary after all. We will see, biblically, that God isn't threatened by our questions - He meets us in them. Through this series, we'll give practical tools for wrestling with doubt and strengthening faith. -At Discover Church, we exist to see our city changed by Jesus, one life at a time by helping people discover LIFE in Christ, BELONGING in Community & PURPOSE in God's Calling on their life so that they can MAKE A DIFFERENCE.-You can join us live on Sunday mornings at 9:00 or 10:45am, either in person or online! Even when we mess up, God isn't done with us. In this episode of Talk'N Truth, Dan Whitney (aka Larry the Cable Guy), Pastor Bryan Clark, and comedian Reno Collier dive deep into 2 Samuel 14—the story of King David's paralyzed leadership, his silence after failure, and the grace that calls us back into the game. David went from a fearless giant-killer to a hesitant, broken man afraid to act. But God wasn't finished with him—and He isn't finished with you either. The crew discusses what it looks like to feel “stuck on the B team,” how guilt and shame can hold believers back, and why God's grace is a recall notice for every follower of Jesus to get back on the field. They also unpack how Peter's restoration after denying Christ shows that repentance isn't the end—it's the beginning of purpose renewed. Whether you're weighed down by regret, battling spiritual fatigue, or longing for a comeback in your faith, this real-talk conversation reminds you: sin doesn't disqualify you. God's grace requalifies you.
This week on Finding God, we're dismantling the fear-based belief that God is watching and waiting to punish us. He's for you. Always.

We often try to break God down into digestible percentages. Part love, part wrath, part justice, part mercy. But, truthfully, God isn't divided at all. In this episode, we explore the danger of reducing God to a pie chart of attributes and instead look at how Scripture presents a God who is fully holy, fully loving, fully just—all at the same time. We'll wrestle with common theological tensions, like how a good God can express anger or judgment, and why understanding His wholeness is essential for forming a resilient faith. This conversation takes us from Cain and Abel's offerings to Eden's exile, through Romans 1 and all the way to the cross—where God's wrath and mercy met in perfect harmony. If you've ever struggled with the idea of “Old Testament God” vs. “New Testament Jesus,” or found yourself asking how love and justice can coexist, this one's for you.Let me know if you want this adapted for Apple Podcasts or your website too!

It's not about anger (or even just a Biblical precursor of “We Bought a Zoo”)—it's about a God and his deep love for his people. Recorded live at Crossroads Church in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Today I‘m sitting down with Craig Wroblewski, president of Lifestones Ministries, to talk about two difficult issues so many families are facing: struggling marriages and the heartbreak of prodigal or estranged children. As we dig into Psalm 127, we explore the spiritual battle surrounding our homes, the value of discipleship, how to restore communication and connection in marriage, and what it means to persevere in prayer when our children walk away from us—or from the Lord. Craig shares practical wisdom on building a Christ-centered family, even in the midst of pain, and offers hope for parents who feel like giving up. Whether you're fighting for your marriage, grieving over a child, or simply weary from the battle, this conversation will remind you that God isn't finished. He is still building, restoring, and writing your family's story.Craig Wroblewski with Lifestone Ministries | Lifestoneministries.com/heidiPrime Sponsor: No matter where you live, visit the Functional Medical Institute online today to connect with Drs Mark and Michele Sherwood.
