The Monster of Inadequacy
Delivered Our Inadequacy, God's Sufficiency Exodus 4.1–31 September 28 2025
The right insists — and has tried to legislate — that male and female are hardwired opposites, with no overlap or variation. But as biological anthropologist Agustín Fuentes illustrates, science tells a different story. He shows how sex isn't either/or and discusses the complicated intersection of biology and culture, which are often termed sex and gender. The post Fund Drive Special: The Biological Inadequacy of the Sex Binary appeared first on KPFA.

Jesus Follower's Greatest Witness for the Gospel of Jesus, in a Hurting World, is for Others to See Jesus in Them MESSAGE SUMMARY: You need to live the Christian life in whatever you do – at home; in your job; in the way that you drive; and in the way that you treat your friends. We live in a hurting world, but God wants more for you. To achieve God's desire for your life, you must stay in fellowship and communion with God; and you must let Him work in your life. In Colossians 3:17, Paul challenges us: “And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”. If you live your life, in all places and situations, in the name of Jesus, you will live a better life in our hurting world. As Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 10:31: “So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.". Remember, the greatest witness for the Gospel, as a follower of Jesus, that you can give is for others to see Jesus in you. TODAY'S PRAYER: Father, I confess that when difficulties and trials come into my life, large or small, I mostly grumble and complain. I realize the trials James talks about are not necessarily “walls,” but they are difficult to bear, nonetheless. Fill me with such a vision of a transformed life, O God, that I might actually consider it “pure joy” when you bring trials my way. I believe, Lord. Help my unbelief. In Jesus' name, amen. Scazzero, Peter. Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Day by Day (p. 94). Zondervan. Kindle Edition. TODAY'S AFFIRMATION: Today, Because of who I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be driven by Inadequacy. Rather, I will abide in the Lord's Abundance. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5). Can wisdom be shared in a minute? In this profound and thought-provoking conversation, Prof. Debashis Chatterjee—author, philosopher, and Director of IIM Kozhikode—challenges our conventional notions of time, knowledge, and reality. Drawing from his new book One Minute Wisdom, he explores how life's most transformative insights often strike in seconds—not through theory, but through lived experience. From near-death moments to simple acts of integrity, Prof. Chatterjee shares powerful real-life stories that embody Karma Yoga and spiritual presence. He explains why Indian philosophy is not intellectual speculation, but a lived, embodied truth that emerges when our mental models collapse. This episode invites you to reflect on those flashes of insight when life demands more than thought—it demands awakening.“It took a lifetime to write, a minute to express, and another lifetime to practice.Key Takeaways:Wisdom can be lived in a second, not just shared in a minute.Reality often challenges our mental models, leading to wisdom.Reflection is crucial for effective leadership and personal growth. Our past experiences shape our present identity and decisions.Mind management involves reducing distractions and increasing awareness.Inadequacy drives many to seek achievement, but acceptance is key.Indian philosophy emphasizes transformation over mere speculation.Writing should stem from personal experience and authenticity.Moments of clarity can lead to profound realizations.Stillness is inherent to our nature, often disturbed by external chaos.Chapters:00:00 Highlights01:01 Introduction 02:06 The Essence of Wisdom in a Minute06:01 Puppets of the Past: Unraveling Identity10:03 Mind Management: Clarity Over Control13:54 The Power of Stillness in Leadership19:17 Understanding Chaos and Order22:30 The Importance of Reflection in Leadership25:40 Inadequacy: The Universal Human Experience30:49 The Transformative Nature of Indian Philosophy36:36 Bridging Eastern Wisdom with Western Leadership40:48 The Evolution of Writing and Simplicity45:10 The Essence of Leadership and Learning from Moments50:50 Lessons in Humility from CatsConnect with UsMohua Chinappa: https://www.linkedin.com/in/mohua-chinappa/The Mohua Show: https://www.themohuashow.com/Connect with the GuestProf. Debashis Chatterjee: https://www.linkedin.com/in/debashischatterjee1/Follow UsYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@TheMohuaShowLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/themohuashow/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/themohuashowInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/themohuashow/For any other queries EMAILhello@themohuashow.comDisclaimerThe views expressed by our guests are their own. Our pilgrim, Dante, has asked a very pressing question: How can shades grow thin? How does the immaterial act like the material in the afterlife?Virgil has given the pilgrim the confidence to ask this question. So Virgil takes the first crack at an answer. Problem is, he offers a whole unsatisfying answer and then turns the discussion over to Statius. This passage is a curious introduction to Statius's coming discourse on embryology. Join me, Mark Scarbrough, as we work through the emotional vibe established before we get to the intellectual and doctrinal answer ahead. Here are the segments for this episode of WALKING WITH DANTE:[02:42] My English translation of the passage: PURGATORIO, Canto XXV, lines 22 - 33. Could the stories you tell yourself be shaping how you see yourself? Sometimes those stories build us up, but other times, they are just quietly tearing us down. When we witness a miracle, we often try to downplay what God has done. But when Daniel was miraculously delivered from the lions, he praised God before he was even taken out of the pit. How easy would it have been for Daniel to be critical after God saved him? But to Daniel, a miracle was a miracle, even if his future was uncertain. In this lesson, we'll learn about the power of praise and thanksgiving when God has performed even the smallest of miracles.***Welcome, we are so glad you have joined us for our church online! In Our Race Issues, Pray for One Another and Make a Difference Through Repentance and Reconciliation; Jesus Followers Are Placed Here for These Times MESSAGE SUMMARY: With regards to our race issues, it will not be through political parties, rallies, elections, slogans, or marches that our attitudes and practices are changed or the souls of our nations are converted. The deep change, which we all need, will only be through revival that comes from repentance – turning away from our sin and toward God and his righteous ways in Jesus Christ. As Jesus commanded us in John 5:12: “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.”. Also, in John 13:34-35, Jesus commanded us: “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”. Jesus' “one another” is all inclusive and not just those that look like you and/or of your culture. We do not have just a “skin problem”, we have a “sin problem”. As Dr. Tony Evans of Oak Cliff Bible Church in Dallas Texas recently said: “The evangelical church needs to speak up where it has been silent on injustice and racism. The biggest problem, in the culture today, is the failure of the church. We would not even have a racial crisis in America if the church had not consistently failed to deal with racism as the severe sin it is. But because the church has historically ignored and downplayed it {racial crisis}, the issue still exists. Where the church is called to set an example, we have cowered.”. The Bible makes it unequivocally clear that we are all made in the image of God (Genesis 1:27): “So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.”. Any hostility between brothers and sisters in Christ is an affront to God and damages our souls and the “blessed community” so many of us seek. You can start real “racial change” right where you are -- in your own heart first and then in your own relationship with God. At that point, you can then lead the change your own community -- one person at a time; one relationship at a time; and one act a time. You can reach out and build a relationship with someone different than you. However, doing nothing is no longer an option for us. Let us pray for one another about these things and let us get out and make a difference in our local communities. God has placed you and me here for such a time as this. TODAY'S PRAYER: Lord, I can relate to the Israelites in the desert and their desire to return to what is predictable — even if it is miserable. Change is hard. Grant me the courage of Moses to walk the delicate balance of being still and moving on to the new life in Christ that you have for me. In Jesus' name, amen. Scazzero, Peter. Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Day by Day (p. 72). Zondervan. Kindle Edition. TODAY'S AFFIRMATION: Because of who I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be driven by Inadequacy. Rather, I will abide in the Lord's Abundance. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5). Daniel's worst fear became reality when it was time for him to be thrown into the lions' den. This is the lowest stage of the J curve. Daniel had proven himself to be a man of faith and courage, so why would God allow him to be tested this way? In this lesson, we'll learn how God leads us into the impossible so that He can do the impossible.***Welcome, we are so glad you have joined us for our church online! Are You Prepared to Face Your Death? Have You Prepared Your Family for Your Death and Led them on a Path to Their Eternal Life? MESSAGE SUMMARY: Most of us do not like to think about and plan for death, especially our own. However, Paul in. Romans 6:23, made your life and death position very clear: “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.". As part of your preparations for eternity, you should take one time each year to evaluate and to reflect on your position for facing death and realizing eternal life by identifying those changes that you must make in your life and in your relationship with God. This preparation for your death will be a blessing for you and your family. Are you prepared to face your death? Will you have eternal life? What about those you leave behind – are you being a good steward? Also, what about your family? Is your family prepared for your earthly death and their earthly death; and have you led your family on a path to receive their eternal life? In Matthew 28:18, Jesus gave us His Great Commission for your life focus: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.". Have you followed Jesus' Great Commission, for your own family, by making disciples of your family members? TODAY'S PRAYER: Lord, everything in me resists following you into the garden of Gethsemane to fall on my face to the ground before you. Grant me the courage to follow you all the way to the cross, whatever that might mean for my life. And then, by your grace, lead me to resurrection life and power. In Jesus' name, amen. May 25, 2025 - "The Fear Of Inadequacy"
How You Respond to Jesus, In Your Earthly Life, Will Determine How You Are Judged By Jesus MESSAGE SUMMARY: Jesus claimed to be the unique, divine Son of God; therefore, Jesus is on an equal footing with God. Jesus said that He would one day judge the world. How you respond to Jesus, in your life, will determine how you are judged. The Apostle John summarizes, in John 20:27-29, the interchange between Jesus and the Apostle Thomas when Thomas realizes who Jesus, the man that he had been following for years, is: “Then he said to Thomas, 'Put your finger here, and see my hands; and put out your hand, and place it in my side. Do not disbelieve, but believe' Thomas answered him, ‘My Lord and my God!' Jesus said to him, ‘Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.'”. You, as follower of Jesus, have not seen Jesus or His wounds. Therefore, do you believe through your faith; and are you able, by your faith, to say: “My Lord and my God!”? If not, why not? TODAY'S PRAYER: Lord, you know how difficult it is for me to be in silence before you. At times it feels almost impossible, given the demands, distractions, and noise all around me. I invite you to lead me to a quiet, silent place before you — to a place where I can hear you as Elijah did. In Jesus' name, amen. Scazzero, Peter. How often do we let feelings of inadequacy keep us from stepping into God's plans? In Judges 6:11-18 and Exodus 3:2-15, we see how Gideon and Moses struggled with doubt, yet God still called them to greatness. In this message, Pastor Khalid reveals how self-perceived inadequacies train us to stay hidden and lock us out of God's purpose. But the truth is—God sees more in us than we see in ourselves. It's time to break free from doubt and step into His calling! My friend who listens to your show often recommended me to talk to you. I've seen videos and read your book. I am stuck on the treadmill of life. My wife got pregnant while we were 18 with my son. We got married and life has been hard ever since.Early 30s, 5 ft 10, dark hair/eyes, fit lean build, young lookingTL;DRI feel like a pathetic loser and single father. I know I'll be bitter forever but can't bring myself to finally leave her. None of my family/friends know other than 1 friend. Talked to lawyers. All of her friends/family/client's know. I see them and am ashamed. I have the lowest self respect ever. She has been berating meyears. She won't let me lead in any aspect. I have no frame. Why am I like this? Do I think I had my shot so now I need to take care of my sons? I don't want to see my kid's half as often? Is it because I've never been with another girl? Do I worry about her finding a new man or I won't find a new girl? How can I look my sons in the eye and tell them I wasn't strong enough to do what I recommend for them? She says she loves me. I love her, but this seems really unhealthy. Where is my masculine desire to leave? Am I the problem? Is she? Does she have BPD?Backstory timeline:High school, sophomore year. Ask her to be my gf immediately after she broke up with her boyfriend, she ended it the next day. It was because she was fooling around with her ex.Time goes by, we start dating. Our relationship is constant drama and roller coaster of emotions. We were both jealous of any interaction with the opposite sex.She got pregnant Junior year but she miscarried. We still dated and she gets pregnant my first semester in college when I was thinking of breaking up with her.We got married, lived with family for the first while with my son and then got an apartment. I had been bouncing around between part time jobs while going to school and she started her own company doing aesthetics. Mainly eyelashes.I did poor in school. Hadn't grown up and wasn't being a man.She goes to Aesthetic school and we both work evenings. The cycle repeats of me getting a new job every year only to increase pay slightly and inching towards my degree. She continued with Aesthetics.Have another son.She had been inappropriately chatting with a friend of ours. She moves out and tells me we need some time apart and strings me along. We start going to counseling. I think this can work. She starts seeing change in me. I asked her about any cheating which she lied about and I believed. She tells me about cheating on me.I'm furious but still attend counseling.I'm done. Planning for divorce mentally. Checked out from the relationship. We find out she's pregnant (with my kid) and decide we can make it work. She wants to stop counseling (but not tell the counselor she's pregnant.) I move into her apartment and shortly thereafter she has a stillborn birth at 26 weeks. We buy a house together and fix it up before moving in. She starts giving off hints that she doesn't think our relationship will work. She decides to try and make it work but in order to do so she needs to tell the truth. She tells me that the guy is a friend of mine. She saw him. They kissed. She tells me we only got back together because pregnant.I'm mad, sleep downstairs, cut ties with multiple friends. She says she will do whatever it takes to make it work. Time goes by.I get a full time job and am still in school. She is pregnant with my 3rd son.She finds out I've been looking at porn. Get kicked out of house. Live with parents.I move back in. Get a full time salaried position making more than I've ever made by a decent amount.Graduate with a degree in IS.Last year shortly before summer she tells me she wants to get a divorce. Our relationship is a constant cycle, I don't try to get a better job, We don't make enough money, She thinks she's better off without me.I try to become Superman. I go to counseling&coaching. I try to become a better father/man. Work on my career. Be better in every aspect. I'm checked out from the relationship. At my birthday dinner she says she wants to make it work AGAIN. While thinking/planning I'm just sitting in limbo not making a decision.Things start looking up. Relationship is better than ever. Closer than ever. Spend time together. Help each other. Tells me she loves me more than ever. Cries because our sex is so good.A few months ago she went to a concert with a girlfriend. Got blackout drunk, ended up kissing a random guy in a parking garage. She says I should leave her. At the time I didn't really care. What's one more on the record?I had been consuming red pill content over the past year and a half.We find out our toddler is Autistic. Therapy/school is expensive. We talk, she starts being better. Says she loves me.I contact lawyer.I left out some things due to word restriction.Thank youNumber of years as a listener: Less than a yearGET MY NEW BOOK 'PEACEFUL PARENTING', THE INTERACTIVE PEACEFUL PARENTING AI, AND THE FULL AUDIOBOOK!https://peacefulparenting.com/Join the PREMIUM philosophy community on the web for free!Subscribers get 12 HOURS on the "Truth About the French Revolution," multiple interactive multi-lingual philosophy AIs trained on thousands of hours of my material - as well as AIs for Real-Time Relationships, Bitcoin, Peaceful Parenting, and Call-In Shows! You also receive private livestreams, HUNDREDS of exclusive premium shows, early release podcasts, the 22 Part History of Philosophers series and much more!See you soon!https://freedomain.locals.com/support/promo/UPB2025
