Mike and Meech talk football as well as do TV show and movie reviews. Monday's episodes will be sports and Wednesday will be centered on new movie and TV show releases
Warner Brothers announced all 2021 movies will be release to HBO Max as well as in theaters following the announcement of Wonder Woman 1984 going directly to streaming. Mike takes a victory lap for being very right. Meech struggles to form coherent thoughts and Brett may have finally picked a good movie.
Brett is nearing the end of his rope. It's a very distinct possibility if he watches another bad movie or two that he may kill someone. Most certainly he should be put on watch lists. Maybe locked up in a mental ward. Who knows.
Can Nightcrawler make Mike stop hating Jake Gyllenhaal and his stupid face? (Spoiler - nope). But it does turn into a massive discussion on the Fast and Furious series. Mike and Brett also talk Mandalorian while Meech continues to not watch the show or provide anything of merit to this segment. Tune in next week to see if Meech watches the things we are supposed to watch!
Another wild one as we rehash the exact same things everyone has been talking about for days. Then we get into Raised by Wolves Season 1 recap and then another fucking John Carpenter movie in They Live. Also we recap Mandalorian Episode 1 and nerd out for a bit. Next week we come back with Ep 2 of Mando and Nightcrawler on Netflix.
Haunting of Bly Manor and Trial of the Chicago 7 dominate this weeks podcast.
We have some serious podcast drama this week as evidence has been brought to light that Meech may have welched on a bet. Let us know what you think.
Here is your timestamp warning that after 30 seconds this episode loses all control.
Meech has switched political affiliations and is now leading the far left express. Also we review The Thing and talk about episode 6 of The Boys. We probably talked about some other stuff I just don't remember what it was cause it's late now since Brett forgot to send me his stuff so I could edit it all.
First things first we forgot to say what we are watching this week in the episode so we are watching "The Thing" on Hulu. Beyond that I can't even really tell you what happened this episode but we talked about what Hogwarts house we would be in, a little bit about basketball, and then had some wildly different opinions on this weeks movie.
So I'm back this week and we get into our typical shenanigans after last weeks unmitigated disaster. Apologies to all the listeners for having to endure that. I promise this week we actually had some structure and figured out what we are going to watch next week with virtually no problems. It's amazing how not difficult this is when you're competent. Also we talk about episode 4 of The Boys and There Will Be Blood.
Mike has abandoned us and Brett has taken full control of the show. We're off the rails from the jump as Meech screws up his audio and predicts challenges with the editing. Spoilers for Mulan and the first three episodes of the boys abound in this week's episode, as well as discussions around gas station Dunkin Donuts, people who talk to the cashiers too much and how anyone could think there is a better character in the Boys than Homelander. Will Brett's reign continue? Will he ever cede his throne? Will he craft One ring to rule them all? One ring to find them? One ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them?
I'm typing all of this after the Celtics just blew a game with .5 seconds left. Who does that shit? For real? Come the fuck on. No we don't talk about the game at all in this episode but we do talk about Midway and Escape from New York.
Meech has come with a vengence and something to prove clearly. He must be compensating for something. I guess we will find out. Reviews of Blinded by the Light and Capone included. Next weeks movies are Escape from New York (Amazon Prime) and Midway (HBO Max).
Meech has found his chance at redemption. A simple yet impossible challenge he must overcome to regain his chair. Let us see if he climb this mountain. Also we reviewed Raising Arizona and Project Power. There was some talk about baseball's unwritten rules, Brett's unusual middle name, blowbangs, and potential murders Meech may have to commit.
Meech has returned to find the world has changed. An unsuspecting boy lost in this new age world trying to become a man. Let's see how he does. Also we review Umbrella Academy season 2 and Jojo Rabbit. We finish with our Top 5 Active TV Show character draft.
Meech is officially missing. Make sure you check your local milk cartons to help us find him.
Guys sorry for the delayed upload we will be back on a normal schedule. I lost an episode trying to edit it and then forgot to upload this most recent one. We are gonna get back on track this week I promise.
You're just gonna have to listen to figure out what the fuck is going on here.
Oh yes there it was an actual finger. Lots of things happened this week and we have tons of stuff to talk about. Strap in cause it is a wild ride.
So we get big mad at Rotten Tomatoes and every idiot who voted in this fucking HBO shows bracket. So we do it for people who have brains. Eventually we get into Hightown and Da 5 Bloods for some more positive discussions.
Hightown discussion gets a bit out of control. King of Staten Island is one of the biggest surprises this podcast has had in a long time.
There were a lot of feelings thrown around on this episode and none of them were good. This might be the most upset we've ever been by a movie.
So we talk about a lot this week. We want to give our thoughts as supporters of the black lives matter movement and what we we can do and how we can listen. Some podcasts recommended by us that we found particularly enlightening are listed below. - Pardon My Take - 6/1/20 Episode - Arian Foster Interview - Mickstape - 6/1/20 Episode - Token CEO - 6/1/20 Episode - NPR "Racism and Economics" - NPR "A Decade of Watching Black People Die"
Lots going on here but mainly we discuss the pro's and con's of embezzlement, Meech being a psychopath per usual and one time Mike put someone in jail.
Being a good cheater was an important life skill and we discuss the merits of why. We watched Scoob and season 2 of Dead to Me. Science also apparently discovered a parallel dimension to ours in Antarctica today so that was wild.
Well we are back at it again. Reckless betting of things that have no upside for us and only potentially terrible consequences. It's Brett's turn now so make sure to tune in.
Turns out the Mayor of Las Vegas is in the Mafia's pocket so that's pretty cool. Then we talk about the Dixie Mafia and the movie Arkansas without spoilers and then with spoilers (29:34-51:17). Finally we finish with some discussion on The Velocipastor.
Say you got dropped in and were a part of any fictional gang which would you join? Also we debate how to make live-action Hercules good. Should it be more like the Lion King remake or the Aladdin remake?
So we watched arguably the worst movie in this podcast's history. It did prompt the debate though if if you could travel back in time to any historical event where would you go? We also watched an old Mike Myers movie and Meech has some thoughts about it. Also a fight breaks out.
Meech watched the Wrinkles the Clown documentary and Brett gets his first look at Wrinkles. Murder hornets have come for Washington and we have some takes that may come back to bite us. Mike decides to get into essential oils and Meech summons a demon.
People are big mad but the point has been made and unfortunately the very fabric of what people believe to be reality is crumbling around them. We may have found the female version of Kutcher too.
We did live reactions throughout the first round and the live reaction to the Packers trade makes this whole episode worth it.
And if you look really hard you can see we half included Brett. Good for Brett. Mike and Brett tried to immediately derail Meech's well intentioned football talk but eventually gave in to discuss "sports" or whatever that is.
So we watched a lot of depressing stuff this week. Didn't do loads of good for us. But somehow we ended up on Medieval torture devices going up your ass so that was interesting.
We may have come up with our best bit yet. We also might've talked some real football for a second here. I don't remember if Meech put his foot in his mouth but he may have.
Reviews of Snowpiercer and Inception. Meech tells us about his bouts of sleep paralysis. Little spoon is the far better cuddling position and its not even close.
Yeah I mean this one was all over the place. Coronavirus conspiracy, breakfast cereals and movie villains. Meech hit everyone with the stunner and we still haven't recovered.
Yeah its the Tiger King episode. With a little footnote at the end of The Platform.
I'll bet you thought we were talking about the NFL draft. Ha. Idiots. Nope today we did a draft of all time fictional football players and a coach along with a late 90's early 2000's pop punk band draft. So enjoy us debating these ones and sound off in the comments.
Today is finally the day. The long awaited review of Cabin Boy comes to the podcast today. Also featuring segments such as Meech has a mustache.
Mike has to find out if he was the asshole or not a situation recently. Meech creates a new system to judge people on. Turns out Ellen might be a big ole piece of shit. Brett should still be an intern.
So this episode we tried to lay off the real news stuff and talk about a conspiracy theory for a minute, We also wanted to come up with some under the radar movie and show suggestions for all you guys out there. Mike - Snowpiercer (Netflix), His Dark Materials (HBO), Turn Up Charlie (Netflix), Never Back Down (HBO), Five Days (HBO) Meech - Maniac (Netflix), The Night Eats The World (Amazon), Circle (Netflix), The Sinner (Netflix) Both - How to Make it in America (HBO)
Well we actually talk a lot of football but then somehow this episode derails and undermines all we talked about. Meech addresses basically all of his bad takes at once and puts up a fight equal to a gazelle vs. a lion. It was a bloodbath quick. Strap in
Guys we promise none of this episode is about the Coronavirus. Just a couple of guys talking about things that are totally unrelated to the apparent pandemic we are currently experiencing. Probably a bit of movie talk.
There isn't much happening in football and Meech refuses to embrace other sports so this week the guys get off all their hot political takes involving national women's day, anti-vaxing, coronavirus and more.
Some guys ran fast and picked things up and put them down a lot. It was pretty dope. Where is Brady gonna go? Meech disappears mid podcast so that was an adventure.
Meech got attacked by a beetle mid episode and almost ruined the recording by losing a bunch of his audio like an idiot. Thankfully its just the really funny part where he freaked out like a child over a goddamn bug continuing his trend of doing really funny shit that isn't recorded. Gonna have to fire his ass soon.
So the mob was rigging the McDonald's McMillion's game, Blumhouse released the worst movie we've seen in decades, and if it weren't for the Outsider releasing heater after heater we might have just skipped this episode.
We talk free agency a bit, offseason storylines, the XFL and how it might not be horrible. Meech settles a longtime question of can he dunk?
Chapstick is bullshit but the dude from Burt's Bees might be the key to Earth's survival. Recap of last week's movies as we lost that audio to the shadow realm.
Football is gone and we have to find other things to talk about. Somehow the conversation works its way to discussing late 90's early 2000's pop and punk rock bands. Just enjoy it for what it is.
