House of the Dragon Season 3 finally lands, and the Battle of the Gullet gives the premiere one of the strongest hours the show has produced, complete with a death that reshapes the war and a 9 out of 10 score. It is a solo Father's Day episode, so Frank carries the news himself before settling into a full spoiler breakdown of the Targaryen civil war. Along the way Frank reacts to the first full Shrek 5 trailer and the cast joining Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, and Cameron Diaz, celebrates the official greenlight of the Dungeon Crawler Carl TV show at Peacock, and unpacks EA's new in-game advertising platform coming to Madden and College Football 26. The episode also brings back a roundtable from the previous week, where Phil and Thomas help untangle the messy, fast-moving Bricks and Minifigs consignment controversy and what it says about chasing clout in a legal dispute. Timestamps and Topics 0:00 Intro and Father's Day Catch-Up 1:03 Shrek 5 Trailer Breakdown 5:18 Dungeon Crawler Carl TV Show Greenlit at Peacock 11:10 EA's New In-Game Ads Platform 16:23 Bricks and Minifigs Controversy with Phil and Thomas 36:21 House of the Dragon Season 3 Episode 1 Review 55:53 Father's Day Send-Off Key Takeaways The full Shrek 5 trailer eases a lot of the early animation backlash, introduces the next generation of characters voiced by Zendaya, Marcelo Hernandez, and Skyler Gisondo, and reunites the original trio under returning director Walt Dohrn and co-director Conrad Vernon. The Dungeon Crawler Carl series is officially greenlit at Peacock with Matt Dinniman confirming it, Seth MacFarlane executive producing through Fuzzy Door, and Chris Yost writing, plus a Princess Donut CGI test that won the creator over. EA is rolling out a proprietary in-game ad server built on the Frostbite engine to drop swappable, location-targeted brand placements across Madden, EA Sports FC, College Football 26, and NBA titles. The Bricks and Minifigs saga started as a local consignment dispute over a massive sealed Lego collection and spiraled into a national story involving Reckless Ben, Coffee Zilla, Patreon, and harassment of unrelated stores. The Battle of the Gullet leans into spectacle with two real ships built to collide and three dragons in the air, landing the death of Jace and setting Rhaenyra up to carry the blame. The premiere doubles down on its core theme of women like Rhaenyra, Alicent, and Rayna being boxed in by the men around them, earning a 9 dragon eggs out of 10 from Frank. Quotes "House of the Dragon is about smashing two gigantic CGI dragons together and seeing who survives." "I'm going to give this a solid nine dragon eggs out of ten." "You kids nowadays, you don't know the joy of a DVD menu." "I don't believe there is good, I don't believe there is evil. I believe everybody has the capacity for both." (Phil) "When everything is said in clickbait titles instead of what is actually going on, suddenly everybody is a bad guy and everybody is a good guy." Matt and Eric are back, gabbing about the latest Hollywood news, including HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS 2, AUSTIN POWERS 4, Curry Barker's new Universal deal, WIDOW'S BAY renewal, the Universal Kids Resort in Frisco, ROCKY HORROR at the Sphere, and more...
Tyra Banks is taking Netflix to court over her portrayal in the Next Top Model documentary, and the legal documents are absolutely damning. She's claiming that crucial footage was cut to make her look heartless — both in how she responded to Chandi's assault story and when she allegedly ignored Miss Jay after his stroke. The receipts (literally, text messages and proof of contact) are all there, and this could get very messy in court.Meanwhile, Shrek 5 just arrived with some unexpected creative choices that have got the internet talking. The beloved ogre looks different, and the new cast lineup is bringing star power we didn't anticipate. The franchise is betting big on this one. Finally, Brooklyn Beckham's latest commercial move has sparked all sorts of reactions, proving that the nepo baby is never far from the headlines — and sometimes in ways we don't see coming.READY TO TEST YOUR CELEB KNOWLEDGE? First, we are going to talk about Austin Powers In Goldmember, written by Mike Myers and Michael McCullers and directed by Jay Roach. Next, we will talk about Friday After Next, written by Ice Cube and directed by Marcus Raboy. Both films have so far been the last films in their respective franchises, despite them being fairly commercially successful.Along the way, we talk about how these films fit into their series, what makes a good threequel, and whether or not we will get a fourquel to either. Plus, the MTV movie awards, Christmas threequels, 80s horror, Mike Myers, Beyonce, ensembles, stale jokes, and lots of potty humor!Theme music by Jonworthymusic.Powered by RiversideFM.CFF Films with Ross and friends.Movies We've Covered on the Show on Letterboxd.Movies Recommended on the Show on Letterboxd.

ONE MILLION DOLLARS! Yeah, baby... maybe? Mike Myers stopped by Trevor Noah's podcast and lit the fuse on a question fans have been circling for years: are we getting another Austin Powers movie? In this Geek Freaks Headlines breakdown, we unpack Myers' tease, weigh whether the franchise still has a place in 2026, and dig into why the math might actually work even if the films haven't aged gracefully. With Shrek already on his comeback slate, the conversation turns into a bigger debate about nostalgia, mid-budget comedies, and which revival fans would actually welcome. (Hint: Wayne's World keeps coming up.)Topics covered: the Mike Myers Austin Powers tease, the aging-franchise problem, the Scary Movie comedy comparison and its soft box office, the economic case for mid-budget studio comedies, and the revival fans might prefer instead.Timestamps0:00 Austin Powers Might Be Back0:09 The Nostalgia Problem and an Aging Cast0:21 The Scary Movie Comparison0:37 The Case for Bringing It Back0:52 Your Take in the CommentsKey TakeawaysMike Myers floated the possibility of a new Austin Powers during his Trevor Noah podcast appearance. The skeptic case is real: the films lean on humor that hasn't aged well, and the cast keeps getting older.Shrek is already returning for Myers, so an Austin Powers revival would stack onto a growing nostalgia slate. The new Scary Movie sits in the same tongue-in-cheek, embrace-the-silly comedy lane, but it underperformed at a reported 175 million worldwide. The counterargument is jobs: mid-budget comedies keep crews working and money moving through Hollywood. If any Myers revival lands cleanly, a new Wayne's World might be the easier sell.Memorable Quotes"I love nostalgia like every other millennial, but I don't know if we need this one back.""This is one of those mid-budget movies that actually keeps Hollywood flowing, gets people employed, so why not bring it back?""Mike Myers, you can make something new."We Want to Hear From YouShould they make a new Austin Powers movie, or is it time to hang that hat up? The first full trailer for Shrek 5 finally arrived, and this episode breaks down everything it shows one year out from release. We cover the new footage, the storybook opening that pays homage to original author William Steig, and our best look yet at the redesigned Shrek and Donkey. The trailer takes the whole Shrek family, now with adult kids in tow, to a new and noticeably rainier corner of the map that feels less friendly than the Far Far Away fans know. The standout gag is a creepy snowman who reads a lot like a parody of Olaf, and it sets the tone for a movie that looks ready to have a lot of fun.We run through the returning trio of Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy and Cameron Diaz, plus the new generation joining the cast: Zendaya as daughter Felicia, with Marcello Hernandez and Skyler Gisondo as her triplet brothers Fergus and Farkle, the same babies fans met in Shrek Forever After. There is also good news behind the camera, with franchise veterans Walt Dohrn and Conrad Vernon back in the director chairs. From there it gets personal with some millennial nostalgia, a Toys R Us Shrek 2 stocking story, and an appreciation for one of the all-time great DVD menus.Timestamps0:00 First real trailer for Shrek 5 and our best look at the redesign0:08 Storybook opening and the homage to author William Steig0:17 The Shrek family heads to a new, rainier location0:25 The Olaf-style snowman and the movie's sense of fun0:33 Returning cast and the new generation joining0:52 Walt Dohrn and Conrad Vernon back in the director chairs1:02 Release date, the 26 year gap, and franchise nostalgia1:21 DVD menu appreciation and signing offKey TakeawaysThe first full Shrek 5 trailer is here, releasing one year ahead of the June 30, 2027 launchIt opens on a storybook that pays homage to original Shrek author William SteigThis is the clearest look yet at the redesigned Shrek and Donkey, and the new look plays better in motionThe family travels to a new location that looks rainier and less welcoming than Far Far AwayThe standout moment is a creepy snowman in the style of OlafMike Myers, Eddie Murphy and Cameron Diaz all returnZendaya voices daughter Felicia, with Marcello Hernandez and Skyler Gisondo as triplet brothers Fergus and Farkle, first seen as babies in Shrek Forever AfterFranchise veterans Walt Dohrn and Conrad Vernon are directingShrek 5 arrives 26 years after the original 2001 filmMemorable Quotes"It's our best look yet at what Shrek and Donkey look like after they're a bit of a redesign.""The best bit by far is coming across a snowman, very much like Olaf.""They're gonna have a lot of fun with this one.""If you watched that first movie, how those knees feeling?"Call to ActionIf you enjoyed the breakdown, subscribe to Geek Freaks Headlines so you never miss an episode. Wayne's World is the 1992 comedy classic that somehow made the leap from Saturday Night Live sketch to genuinely great cinema — and it absolutely holds up. Mike Myers and Dana Carvey are Wayne and Garth, two heavy metal-loving slackers running a public access TV show from a basement in Aurora, Illinois. When a slick TV executive tries to buy their show and sell it out, the boys go to war to keep it real. It's quotable, it's anarchic, it's self-aware before that was cool — and it launched a thousand "Party on, Wayne" impressions that have never really stopped. If you somehow missed this one, or haven't seen it since the 90s, it deserves a proper revisit. Watch Wayne's World on Fetch — and give it the treatment it deserves on a big screen Hisense TV.

After the success of THE GRINCH, Hollywood wanted more live-action Seuss adaptations. With that we got 2003's THE CAT IN THE HAT. With production designer Bo Welch at the helm and comedy superstar Mike Myers in the lead, why did this one fall apart? Why haven't we gotten another live-action adaptation since? Well, I think it's time to put on our big hat and talk a lot about that, this week on the DISSECT THAT FILM PODCAST. Episode Breakdown:

Send us Fan MailOn this 118th episode of the Triple FFF we're going to ease on down the road into my least favorite genre, the musical biopic as we discuss Antoine Fuqua's 2006 tribute to the late great King of Pop, Michael Jackson, cleverly entitled Michael. The film stars Jaafar Jackson — Michael's nephew and the son of Jermaine Jackson — alongside Juliano Krue Valdi as the adult and child versions of Michael respectively, with Colman Domingo and Nia Long as Joe and Katherine Jackson, plus Laura Harrier, Larenz Tate, Miles Teller, and Mike Myers as the various lawyers, executives, and handlers orbiting the Jackson machine. While a host of no-names inhabit the roles of the Jackson 5 and other random family members who agreed to lend their names or participate in this film. Joining me this week, to strut his stuff and discuss the finer points of this box office sensation is my good friend, renowned hoofer and MJ mega fan, himself, Dr. David Johnson Before the lights, fancy footwork and hair sizzling pyrotechnics: the synopsis: Michael catalogs the King of Pop's humble beginnings in Gary, Indiana to success with his brothers in The Jackson 5 to his ultimate rise to global superstardom, ever so briefly highlighting the clashes with his domineering abusive father Joe and record company prejudices while also showcasing quiet moments watching old movies and eating ice cream with his mother or playing Twister with his pet monkey Bubbles. Does this film have what it takes to earn its sequined socks and glove? Find out! Watch the video podcast on Youtube:https://youtu.be/3559W7PH8bg
Send us Fan MailThis week on Please Don't Spoil The Movie, we're spoiling the second installment of the comedy action franchise starring Mike Myers, Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me. Austin is back, but this time he must travel to 1969 to defeat Dr. Evil once again only this time, without his mojo. Tune in as we talk about Wuthering Heights, some unbelievable plots, and the wonderful addition of Mini-Me.
Shrek launched a Dreamworks franchise, won an Oscar, spawned a stage musical, and greatly extended the cultural life of the band Smash Mouth. And it all started with the story of a crabby green ogre, voiced by Mike Myers, who just wants a bunch of fairy-tale characters to stay out of his swamp. The film turns 25 this month, so we are revisiting our conversation about its legacy. For this week's main podcast review, Katie Johnson, Josh Parham, Giovanni Lago, and Daniel Howat join me to review and discuss "Michael" starring Jaafar Jackson, Nia Long, Juliano Valdi, KeiLyn Durrel Jones, Laura Harrier, Jessica Sula, Mike Myers, Miles Teller, and Colman Domingo. Directed by Antoine Fuqua and with direct involvement from the Jackson estate, the film tells the life story of mega-music superstar Michael Jackson... up to a point. The music biopic covers his involvement with the Jackson 5 in the 1960s and 1970s, up to the "Bad" tour in the 1980s, while ignoring the controversies that plagued his later years. The decision has divided critics and audiences, sparking a ton of discourse about the role of critics, Michael Jackson himself, and the music biopic subgenre in Hollywood. Well, what did we think of it? Please tune in as we discuss the story, the acting, the direction, the musical performances, its awards season chances, and more in our SPOILER-FILLED review. pWotD Episode 3279: Michael (2026 film) Welcome to popular Wiki of the Day, spotlighting Wikipedia's most visited pages, giving you a peek into what the world is curious about today. With 251,066 views on Friday, 24 April 2026 our article of the day is Michael (2026 film).Michael is a 2026 American biographical film directed by Antoine Fuqua and written by John Logan. It follows the life of the American singer Michael Jackson, covering his involvement in the Jackson 5 in the 1960s to the 1980s Bad tour. Jackson is portrayed by his nephew Jaafar Jackson and as a child by Juliano Krue Valdi, both in their film debuts. The supporting cast includes Nia Long, KeiLyn Durrel Jones, Laura Harrier, Jessica Sula, Mike Myers, Miles Teller and Colman Domingo.Development began in November 2019, when it was reported that the producer Graham King had secured the rights to produce a film about Jackson, with Logan attached to write. Lionsgate Films announced the film in February 2022. Fuqua was announced as the director in January 2023, and casting began that month when Jaafar was cast; further casting took place from January to April 2024. After delays caused by the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike, filming took place between January and May 2024. After a clause was discovered in a legal settlement, references to the 1993 child sexual abuse allegations against Jackson were removed, the third act was revised, and reshoots took place in June 2025. Studios including Industrial Light & Magic provided the visual effects. The first trailer, released in November 2024, became the most viewed for any musical biopic or concert film. Michael premiered in Berlin on April 10, 2026, and was released on April 24 by Lionsgate in the US and by Universal Pictures in other territories. It received generally negative reviews; critics praised Jaafar Jackson's performance but criticized the story as "sanitized". It has grossed $31 million. This recording reflects the Wikipedia text as of 04:25 UTC on Saturday, 25 April 2026.For the full current version of the article, see Michael (2026 film) on Wikipedia. This podcast uses content from Wikipedia under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License.Visit our archives at wikioftheday.com and subscribe to stay updated on new episodes.Follow us on Mastodon at @wikioftheday@masto.ai.Also check out Curmudgeon's Corner, a current events podcast.Until next time, I'm neural Arthur.

Hour 1: ‘Melrose Place' actor dies at 57. Happy 420! There are plenty of movies to choose from to celebrate: Reefer Madness, Jay and Silent Bob, Pink Floyd's ‘The Wall.” Vinnie can't believe Cheech and Chong aren't on the list of the best. If you want a scary movie, the kid in the new ‘The Mummy' movie will do. ‘Project Hail Mary' is still raking in the big bucks. Plus, Vinnie started Dan Levy's new show ‘Big Mistakes.' Here's what we all think. What do you know about the iron maiden? No, NOT the band. Vinnie's putting a stop to the Napoleon propaganda. Then, Sarah reminds us of one of Vinnie's most embarrassing moments. Hour 2: The Jennifer Hudson Show has been renewed for a 5th season. Dylan Sprouse is in the news for tackling a potential home intruder in his back yard. Bob's the only one who knows who this is. Drew Barrymore is giving up bras. Sarah and Vinnie can't wait to have Ozzy from Survivor on the show tomorrow. Californians are still buying their doobie on the streets. Ever been in a hot air balloon? A skydiver crashed into a scoreboard this weekend at the Virginia Tech spring football game. Crawfish ice cream has become this Texas shop's #1 menu item. Would you try it? Hour 3: Cher is a Grandma! Turns out she has been – Sarah has all the insane gossip. Ryan Reynolds opens up about Blake Lively's case… sort of. Natalie Portman is pregnant with her 3rd kid at 44. Eddie Murphy is being celebrated! Mike Myers helped do it right. There's too much TV, but here's some more to watch! Italy is the first country to give paid time off if your pet is sick. A Chevron executive suggests people drive less amid high gas prices… Thanks for the wise words. Hour 4: While filming a Netflix documentary, two former One Direction bandmates allegedly ended up in a physical altercation. Coachella Weekend 2: Sabrina Carpenter brought out Madonna; Addison Rae brought out Olivia Rodrigo; Somber brought out Billy Idol and Steve Stevens; The Strokes got political. Outside of the desert, Indigo Girls are still touring despite major health issues. Ice Spice was in a bizarre fight at McDonalds. Let's go with doobage. Vinnie's telling us about a bed with really strict rules.
Phil and Emily are joined by film critic and author Jason Bailey to revisit Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, George Clooney's 2002 directorial debut based on Chuck Barris' unauthorized autobiography. Jason is the author of Gandolfini: The Real Life of the Man Who Made Tony Soprano, now available in paperback.Chuck Barris created The Dating Game and The Gong Show. He also claimed to have secretly killed 33 people for the CIA. Charlie Kaufman wrote the screenplay, Sam Rockwell stars as Barris, and Drew Barrymore and Julia Roberts co-star. Before Clooney made it, the film passed through David Fincher, Darren Aronofsky, Sam Mendes, Bryan Singer, Johnny Depp, Ben Stiller, Sean Penn, and Mike Myers over nearly a decade of development. The three dig into what Clooney kept and what he stripped from Kaufman's original script, whether Sam Rockwell's performance holds the whole thing together, and what Roberts and Barrymore bring to a film that never quite commits to its own tonal chaos. They also get into Clooney's arc as a director, a genuinely promising debut followed by a filmography of diminishing returns, and whether Confessions of a Dangerous Mind holds up as his most interesting work two decades on.Jason says yes, unequivocally. Emily loved it then and is reconsidering. Phil never fully clicked with it. They all agree the ending is something close to perfect.+Follow the show and guests:Podcast Like It's... https://www.instagram.com/podcastlikeitsPhil Iscove: https://www.instagram.com/pmiscoveEmily St. James: https://www.instagram.com/emilystjamsJason Bailey: https://www.instagram.com/jasondashbaileyPatreon (bonus episodes and video): http://patreon.com/Podcastlikeits Hosted on Acast. It started as a fun little bracket… and now it's basically a personality test for society.Welcome back to another comedy podcast episode of The Rizzuto Show, where March Movie Mayhem has officially spiraled into emotional damage. We've reached the FINAL FOUR of the greatest 90s movies of all time—and apparently, the internet has decided joy is optional. The contenders? Oh, just a casual lineup of:The Silence of the Lambs (you know, light viewing…)Tommy Boy (Chris Farley = national treasure)The Shawshank Redemption (aka emotional devastation on repeat)Wayne's World (finally, some sanity)So yeah… two comedies vs. two “let's sit in silence after this” movies. What could go wrong? The crew debates whether America is secretly depressed based on voting trends, Learns threatens to emotionally collapse if the fun movies lose, and somehow we all collectively realize that people might actually prefer prison drama over Mike Myers yelling “SCHWING.”But wait—it gets better (worse).Out of nowhere, the Goo Goo Dolls get absolutely obliterated. Specifically:The song “Iris”? Declared overrated. The fans? Accidentally roasted. The band? Still out here catching strays in 2026.We also somehow spiral into:90s nostalgia prize packs (yes, Dunkaroos are involved)Yacht rock appreciation (because of course)Beard-based musical analysis (don't ask, just listen)And a reminder that no matter what happens… your bracket is already bustedIt's everything you want from a comedy podcast:arguments, nostalgia, chaos, and at least one completely unnecessary rant that somehow becomes the highlight.Vote in the bracket, pick your side, and emotionally prepare yourself—because if Shawshank wins this whole thing, we're gonna have questions.Follow The Rizzuto Show → https://linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → https://1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
