We are a community of Christ followers seeking “to help those who feel far from God come home” through worship, Growth Groups, and service opportunities.
In this week's sermon, learn more about what makes an ideal church leader according to Paul's writings in 1 Timothy. Listen as Ron explains the characteristics Paul mentions, but also the most important characteristic of a good church leader.
On the Sunday following Ash Wednesday, G3 Church and our Pastor Ron celebrate the beginning of the season of Lent. As Ron continues in the gospel of John we hear Jesus tell Phillip and Nathaniel to 'Follow Me'. Ron explains that to follow Jesus is to not only confess with our mouths but to submit to discipleship and turn from the ways of the world.
Listen this week as Ron discusses Lent. If you've ever wondered what Lent is or why it's important, this sermon may provide you some answers! Ron talks about how Lent is a chance for us to do a 'spiritual maintenance check' and gives practical reasons how and why we can participate in Lent as individuals.
This Sunday at G3, Ron continues with an exegetical study of the gospel of John in his Lost Light Series. Ron examines John 1:35-42, where Jesus shows the men who follow him where he is staying. Jesus shows them what they truly were looking for. The reason for their existence. Their purpose in life. The answer to all the why’s. So much so they didn’t want to keep it to themselves, they naturally wanted to share it with the ones they loved. Ron explains that Jesus showed the men what evangelism looks like, Jesus invited them to see what God had in store for them and it changed their lives. Just as Jesus showed the disciples so we are called to share the Good News of Jesus and what He has done for all of us.
This Sunday at G3 Church, Ron continued with his Lost Light sermon series through the Gospel of John. Ron uses the example of John the Baptist as he gives a testimony about the Lamb of God in John 1:29-34. Just as John the Baptist testified of Jesus' baptism our testimonies have the same power, but when is the right time to share?
Give this week's sermon a listen as Ron talks to us about worry. Ron uses Matthew 6:25-27 and shares about how worry can reveal where our treasures lie and reminds us that Jesus commands us not to worry, but to trust that God will provide.
Continuing with our Lost Light sermon series, Ron dives back into the beginning of John and we hear how John the Baptist suffered from a case of mistaken identity. Ron discusses how, everyday, the world tries to tell us where our identity is found, but Jesus tells us our identity is found in Him.
This week, listen as Ron shares about the Light, as referenced by John in the first chapter of his gospel. Reflect with us on what it means to be 'little lights' pointing the way towards the 'great Light', like John the Baptist.
Ron begins a new sermon series this Sunday called 'Lost Light.' During this sermon series we will be looking at the Book of John exegetically and go verse by verse to hear what God is telling us directly. Ron began with John 1 and explores how John describes the Creation and how Jesus fits into the story.
For the first Sunday of 2020 Ron shares how we can all deal with our anger by 'canceling the debt'. Ron suggests that anger comes from feeling like we're owed something. Drawing from Jesus' message to Peter in Matthew 18, Ron reminds us that we are called to forgive 7 times 70 times. Listen and learn that we must 'cancel the debts' we feel others owe us in order to prevent our anger from festering into sin.
This week at G3 we heard from Andy Tuttle, the Director of Student Ministries from Mt. Tabor United Methodist. Andy talks about something we can all relate to during this time, New Year's Resolutions and how they can be difficult to keep.
On the fourth Sunday of Advent we anticipate the coming of Jesus and celebrate the peace that His arrival brings. Ron compares Paul's letter to the Philippians and the shepherds that were told the good news in Luke. The shepherds were obedient to God's invitation and said "yes" with their feet which sparked the news of Jesus' arrival on earth. In the same way, we are reminded to say "yes" to God everyday.
On this third Sunday of Advent, join us as Randy Blanchard, Church Vitality Strategist for the Western NC United Methodist Conference, shares a new take on a potentially familiar passage - Jesus returning sight to a blind man. Randy suggests we must first become 'blind' (forgetting what we think we know about God and what God is up to) so we then can 'see' (be aware of God's actual work in the world)
On the Second Sunday of Advent Ron continues with the Down to Earth sermon series. This week we focused on humility by looking at Paul's letter to the Philippians, Mary's song, as well as Mr. Roger's life!
On this first Sunday of Advent, Ron shares a less typical sermon from the second chapter of Philippians, about the biggest threat to the church. It's not Starbucks holiday cups, but disunity and forgetting to put others' needs and interests before our own.
Ever wonder why we say we believe in the 'holy catholic church' while we say the Apostles' Creed, even though we aren't Catholic? In the final week of our series, Creed, hear Ron explain the phrases 'holy catholic church' and 'communion of saints' and why they apply to ALL Christians.
Ron continues with his sermon series "Creed" focusing on the lines about Jesus Christ, the Son. He calls this portion of the Apostles' Creed the 'core of our core as Christians', as it lays out the essentials of the gospel - Jesus was born, died, and raised again.
Today, Ron begins his sermon series entitled 'Creed'. In this sermon, he explains the importance of the first line of the Apostles' Creed: We believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth.
This morning at G3, guest preacher Randy Blanchard shares about how things in life - good and not so good - get our devotion and how we can make sure God is the one to whom we are devoted.
This Sunday Ron continues with his sermon series "First" as we continue with our Vision Campaign. This week Ron explains how we can put God first with our finances.
This Sunday Ron talks about 're-gifting' - using the spiritual gifts God has given us to do the work G3 has been called to as a church.
This week at G3 Ron begins our Vision Campaign sermon series with a sermon about Idols and how we can work towards putting God first in our lives everyday.
In the last sermons from our "Finding God in Toy Story" sermon series Ron talks about how Forky thinks about himself as trash but eventually is shown he is loved by Bonnie the creator. Similarly, Ron leads us to see that God has created us to be his masterpiece!
This Sunday Pastor Ron talks about identity and where we try to find it. He uses illustrations from Toy Story 2 and the parable of the lost son to show that ultimately our identity is found in our God.
In our first Sunday of our new Finding God in Toy Story series, Pastor Ron challenges us to face our insecurities.
In this last sermon of our series, Pastor Ron challenges us to grow in our faith, to leave milk behind and move on to more substantial "food".
In this third Sunday of our sermon series "Catch," Pastor Ron reminds us that Jesus did not call the qualified in the New Testament, and He doesn't call the qualified now. He uses us where we are, how we are, and we need to be willing to share our stories.
In our second Sunday of this sermon series, Pastor Ron answers these three questions: Why Jesus? Why Church? Why our church?
In this first sermon of our August series "Catch," Pastor Ron uses Scripture from Ezekiel and Matthew to remind us of our mission at G3 Church: to help those who feel far from God come home.
Today we revisit the Christmas story and remember the peace that Christ brings and that God is always with us.
On this last Sunday of our Jesus Following 101 sermon series, Pastor Ron discusses the seeming conflict between faith and works. We are saved by faith and faith alone, and yet because of our faith, we can't help but do good works because that is what God created us to do.
In this third Sunday of our sermon series Jesus Following 101, Pastor Ron shares about the importance of prayer. Through prayer, we draw closer to our Heavenly Father just as Jesus did during His ministry on Earth.
In our second sermon of this series, guest preacher Rick Page shares about the transforming nature of the Bible. By allowing God to speak through Scripture, we will become more like the Jesus of the Bible.
This week we begin our new series called "Jesus Following 101." We begin by looking at the Bible - what it is and what it is not.
This Sunday, Pastor Ron talks about marriage and the necessity to have sacrificial love just as Christ loved (and died) for humanity.
On this Father's Day, guest preacher Rick Page shares the godly duties fathers have been given by the Heavenly Father to raise holy children ready for Kingdom living in this world.
In our last sermon of this series, Pastor Ron challenges us to live lives of integrity like Daniel even when the lions bite. Life is full of disappointments, challenges, and heartache, but God is with us in the midst of our lion's den experiences.
In this sermon, Pastor Ron uses Daniel 4 to teach us how to live humbly, to remember who God is, who we are, and who others are.
In today's sermon, Pastor Ron shares the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego and the fiery furnace and challenges us to turn towards God when we are faced with hardships, fears, and trials instead of turning away from Him.
On Chris' last Sunday at G3, he preaches on the story in Genesis where Jacob wrestles with God. Chris gives us permission to have doubts, to question God, to even get angry because God is a God who can handle our doubts and fears. But ultimately, we rest in the assurance of God's love for us and for all people even in the midst of darkness and struggle.
On this second Sunday of our series, Pastor Ron looks at Daniel chapter 2 and how Daniel was able to retell and interpret the king's dream. This part of the story shows us how important it is to go to the right source in order to get the right solution. Only God was able to know the king's dream (not the astronomers or magicians), and Daniel knew God would provide the answers when he went before the king.
In our first sermon this series on Daniel, Pastor Ron challenges us to build our lives upon a firm foundation so that when the bad times come (and they will come), we will not crumble.
In our third week of our Simplify series, guest preacher Rick Page joins us to look at the topic of healthy finances. He says, "It's a matter of cardiology not ideology" when it comes to our money. We are called to be good and faithful stewards of all that God has given us so that we can help grow His Kingdom.
In this second sermon of our Simplify series, Pastor Ron discusses the connection between our relationship with God and our relationship with others. We must be connected to the Vine (Jesus Christ) in order to have the appropriate lens of humility and servanthood in our relationships with others.
Today we begin our new sermon series looking at how to simplify our lives so that we live like Mary in a Martha world (referring to the story of Mary and Martha in the New Testament). What changes do we need to make in our daily schedules to make time for the "best" things in life?
This Sunday is unlike any Sunday at G3 Church. For the first time in our G3 life, we unleash a vision that God has given us over the next five years.
