GC Titans Fanzone Podcast

We're back! Technical issues last week, but we're back again and with clearer audio and a lot to discuss! Netball, NRLW, Leagueability, and the NRL competition. We call out some key players int he teams as the ones to watch for the rest of the year. Deano gives us some great updates on the Women's squad and his work within the Leagueability program and we tip our cap to the recent wins, and losses from all the club teams. We also discuss Brian Kelly's form and some interesting insight into his try against the Roosters.

Jon us this week as we've got a PACKED show! (apologies also, Deano's mic doesn't work for the first 5mins) But we fix that and dive into the good stuff. The NRLW kicks off we talk about the star studded line up, chat a bit about the upcoming Netball GF drill into the Men's games with a thrilling loss with some shocking calls, but was it our errors that killed us? It's round 20 and we're hitting the home stretch post Origin 3 with the Tino, Fifita, Mo and AJ all playing on Wednesday and how will they back up for Sunday against the Eels who also had players for NSW? Netball has been winning in both grades, NRLW are training the house down with a congratulations to Podcast favourite Georgia Hale getting captain and we break down the game against the Dolphins last weekend. We're back from a short Break with Bye rounds and State of Origin on the cards we congratulate Mo, AJ, Dave & Tino on their selection for next week. Deano joins me this week to dissect the game and we're the boys are at in terms of the change in dynamics around the team with Jaimin Jolliffe returning as well as AJ and Verills playing 80mins against the Tigers. Some solid changes to play as well as JC's involvement at 5/8 can really turn things around especially up against the Broncos next weekend. All this and more, tune in to the conversation!

I had the privilege of speaking with Ashley Taylor in this podcast and this has been one of my favourite interviews yet. Such a wonderful person and now living life after football still around the game and working within the community up in Toowoomba. Not only is he coaching again, but still enjoying watching footy is his downtime. We catch up and ask him some of your questions from the page and also how is life with a great Titan of old. Today we chat with Netball up and coming Ruby Series Centre Bayley D'Hotman de Villiers as we chat through her recent shift to Centre, how she juggles life, school, and also professional sport and an insight into her pathway into professional sport with the help of the Titans. A future champion in my opinion! I also get to talk to Dean Clark who provides us some of his insight and discussion around the game performance of the team and where he thinks we can fix the half-time voodoo of the Men's NRL Team. Today I got to chat with Klese Haas who sat down with me and talked some footy including the team dynamics and the building of something huge at the club. He talks about the camaraderie that has formed in the group and the want to win a premiership together and we tap in to the likes of Foz, Hollbrook and Isaac Liu and their voices at the club which have been pivotal to the recent success. Klese also taps into a honest conversation around his form early on in the season and the work he's put in to get back into the starting 17. All this and more!

Today I'm joined by Adam Barry from Gold Coast Titans Membership team who is also in Operations for the Netball Squad! We discuss the kick off to the year on all codes with Netball, NRLW Signings plus break down the NRL from all levels. We focus on how versatile we are as a team and our attacking style, plus focus on our key attacking weapons and how we will approach the upcoming game against the Eels as well as dissect the Manly game in detail. We've changed things up! And just because it's a bye round doesn't mean there isn't anything to discuss. We've got a huge of week with recruitment rumours, injuries, and a full dissection of last week's game which in our thoughts, was a great performance even though we lost. Tune in as we talk about the players of the rounds with Tammy Hopkinson and Jorja Hopkinson each now with their own segments!

Coming off a 10 year drought the win has been very sweet, Dane and I go through and have a major dissection of last week's game to drill down into the team's performance but go extra lengths this week to look into Tanah Boyd and some of his statistics for this year. We've got a big job ahead of us this weekend so we talk through our next campaign versus the Cowboys in Townsville. All this and more, tune in!

What went wrong last week? The Titans of old? How do we rate the line up of the squad when we had disruption? What is the difference between round 1 and round 2? We really pick apart everything that happened on the weekend and then discuss the upcoming first homegame with the Titans. Will we bounce back or will the Storm also bounce back even harder? We've got some epic things to deliver around some exciting new partnerships with the Fanzone and the cast, plus we take a look at some of the changes that are made and the upcoming talent we have on board. Don't miss this one! Today I had the privilege to speak with Titans CEO Steve Mitchell on the Podcast and talk about his journey into the role and what his key role at the club is and why it's so important. We touch on what elements from a club make the the day to day turn into performance and how the club is engrained into the community more now than ever and what the future holds for all of our teams. We talk about the 10 year plan and how that is proceeding as well as some insight into this year and how even though we didn't string together the wins we wanted, we were able to identify our core issues and work out our DNA to lead us to victory in the coming years. Probably one of my favourite interviews yet! Enjoy the listen!

What a year is has been with so many players, guests ups and downs. It's been huge and we're now wrapping up with last weeks 3-2-1s plus the Jorja M's (Our version of the Dally Ms) and Tammy takes us through some GC Fanzone Podcast Awards with some great awards and callouts in there from across the full Titans club. Dane, Tammy, Jorja and I cover off the last week against the Kinghts with the Men's and Women's teamscoming up with a win and a loss respectively. We look at how the women are performing and also Jorja talks about how her off-field experiences effect her 3-2-1s! Great to see a win from the team this week, looking forward to the week ahead were we discuss some of the watchouts for the upcoming game against the Warriors.

ERIN CLARK! We chat to Erin about all things football including his stellar transition into lock and his unfortunate injury. We also discuss his journey from NZ where he nearly gave up NRL into becoming a strong leader at the club. We ask him about the weekend and how his playing career is going into 2025 and why he loves being a titan. All this and the usual game talk to get through this week! It's fast approaching end of season and we believe we're up for a strong run towards the end of year. The signing of Sam Verills plus some other news around the club has us discussing more around the 2023 season and with a couple of small tweaks we can really turn things around. A very tough loss to the high flying raiders. We do see some diamonds in the rough however as we dissect Jayden's, Tanah's and a few other players performances on how and where we'd like to see improvement and what is 2023 going to look like? We also keep our hopes high and talk about what is good within the team right now and what keeps us coming back for more each game as true fans. We're back! A week's hiatus for me as we had origin last week and our interview with the high flying new recruit JoJo Fifita will air another week. But! We cheer on the team for their excellent performance last week with us seeming to be pipped at the post, but at no lack of trying, they did very well, and there was a lot to discuss! Today we speak with two of our Netballers! Bayley De Villiers and Dakota Newson plus also take the time to speak with our 2023-24 recruit Klese Haas! We have a great chat to both and we learn a few things about Netball plus how the squad was rumoured to be coming around, and did you know our very own Erin Clarke's mum is the coach and a gun netballer? Furthermore, Klese is a big fan of Chokito's and is a great energy and gives us some insight into the future of the Titans and his training regime.

We speak to our young upcoming Blues champion from the Titans, Tommy Weaver. Local boy and we speak about his development and future at the club through his pathways and where he is from plus how his origin experience was. We also talk Chinese takeaway and where did all the good Chiko rolls go? But more importantly, we discuss more about the upcoming game with the Knights and try ti dissect where we can win as this is a must win game. We mark the midway point of the year and we need to see solid improvement going forward. Where would you like to see improvement?

Brendan is back and we go over our thoughts on what is going wrong at the titans. Will we take out the spoon after being 16th on the ladder half way through the season? Also, how do we rate the coaches performance and should we draw a line through some of the players and blood all the young new talent waiting in the wings? All this and more!

Round 12 and its the Local Derby up at Suncorp Stadium against the Big Brother, the Broncos. This week we had a very open and honest conversation with the Titans Hooker, Erin Clark. We spoke to him about his time in the #9 and where he feels like he needs to improve and how he is trying to improve. We also asked who he would like to play for in the Rep Round coming up and the World Cup at the end of the year and how special it is to finally have his family on the Gold Coast with him and how that has helped him. We discuss our thoughts and feelings around the game against the Sharks in Round 11 at CBus and our thoughts about the Local Derby this Friday night.
