The Lions are 1-0 in the Test series against Australia!Alan and Charlie reflect on the match in Brisbane where the Lions overpowered the Wallabies. The Telegraph's Chief Rugby Correspondent Gavin Mairs checks in from the Suncorp Stadium and is full of praise for Tom Curry, who was sensational after having his selection doubted. There's also praise for his back row partner Tadhg Beirne, who was named the official man of the match on the night. The all Scottish midfield of Russell-Tuipulotu-Jones also comes in for high praise after an excellent performance, but there are questions to be asked of the back three and if their place is under threat for the second Test next weekend. We also ask if Australia's second half performance will give them confidence of levelling the series next weekend and discuss what kind of team will play the final midweek match on Tuesday. We tackle all your questions as usual, too. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

This week on the KOKO Show we come to you from the glorious confines of the MJ Bale flagship store in Martin Place, Sydney. The lads are dressed to impress with some silky threads that lift the spirits and allow the human form to podcast like they have never podcasted before, all thanks to MJ Bale. We have arrived ladies and gentlemen, the first Test Match between the Lions and the Wallabies is soon upon us and the KOKO Crew couldn't be more up and about at the prospect of two great teams doing battle at Suncorp Stadium. To help us along this joyous journey, we have enlisted the help of two very special guests. The first has played over 90 caps for Wales and he was one of the brave men that took down the Wallabies in 2013, it is none other than Dr Jamie Roberts and the other is triple international, cross-code footy legend and rugby media's leading lady Allana Ferguson. Jamie joins the lads for the first half of the show to muse and discuss how both sides will shape up and prepare this week leading into the first Test. We discuss potential tactics, predicted sides and what the Lions will do to navigate this growing laundry list of injured players. Plus, ‘The King' sticks around to give us his ‘Perfect Pour' from the weekend just gone, all thanks to our headline sponsor Guinness, as well as playing a little game of ‘Which Lion Was it Anyway?'We have always said, when one guest leaves you replace them with someone better. Step to the fore Allana Ferguson. All thanks to our great friends at TAB, Allana joined the show to crunch the odds heading into the first Test Match this Saturday in Brisbane. Plus, she unleashes her depth of knowledge to give us a full wrap of the Wallaroos' encouraging loss to the Black Ferns in Wellington and how the ladies are shaping up with the Rugby World Cup on the horizon this August. So in summation, it is time to bloody lock in. We have waited 12 long years to get our chance at revenge against this crimson clad gaggle of geezers and let's not let this one slide. They have taken over our beaches, booked up our restaurants and are smugly drinking our beer. But they will never take our podcast! It is time for an all new episode of Kick Offs and Kick Ons. The Warriors know they'll have to be at their best to take down the Cowboys in tonight's Magic Round contest in Brisbane. After starting the year with three straight losses, the Cowboys have rebounded with four wins on the trot. Number six Chanel Harris-Tavita says it's up to him and halves partner Luke Metcalf to drive the team to a fourth straight win over the Cowboys, but he admits their combination is still a work in progress. Kick-off for the Warriors home match on neutral territory at Suncorp Stadium is at 7.30pm. Former Kiwis international Daryl Halligan joined D'Arcy Waldegrave to preview the clash. Magic Round kicks off tonight with Women’s State of Origin, followed by a series of blockbuster NRL games. Brisbane first hosted the event in 2019, and is locked in to host it until 2027, however, there is no guarantee it will continue in the River City beyond that. NRL CEO Andrew Abdo told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, "Three years is a long time and we want to continue to build and make Magic Round even more special." "When the time's right, we'll have a conversation around where Magic Round goes afterwards." "People do enjoy travelling to see games at Suncorp Stadium." "So we don't take that for granted, but obviously nothing is locked in beyond 2027," Mr Abdo continued.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Women’s State of Origin kicks off this Thursday night in front of 25,000 at Suncorp Stadium. Queensland will be attempting to retain the shield after making history with victory in the first-ever three-match series. Queensland Captain Ali Brigginshaw told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, "We definitely can do it again." "After last year's win, it's really instilled some confidence within the group." "I guess we are missing a couple, but we've also got six debutantes, which is very exciting," Ms Brigginshaw said.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

2025 is bringing some new plot twists and storylines for the Panthers, who have now dropped their 4th straight game after losing 22-18 to the Cowboys at Commbank Stadium.   Still some positives to touch on, as the Panthers honoured one of the all-time greats in Isaah Yeo who played his 250th game for the club. Some more injury clouds coming out of this one, and another quick turnaround ahead as the team will head to Brisbane to take on the Dolphins at Suncorp Stadium next week.

The mid-week edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast has warmed up and had last words from the coach! Eddie Otto, Nick Hayes, and Garry Watson are ready to run out onto the podcast field...but there isn't much Wests Tigers news to discuss. That means we've had to call in Artificial Intelligence (AI) to see what topics this 21st-century marvel produces for us. What we do know is that the Tigers are sitting at two wins and two losses so far in season 2025, and Nick and Eddie share their thoughts on Sunday night's Warriors match. Roster Changes at Wests Tigers. Also on the agenda (though not an AI suggestion) is the announcement by Wests Tigers of three roster changes. The changes see Solomona Faataape upgraded to the NRL Top 30 squad, and one Wests Tigers Podcast member believes this move might have been strategic to make way for a young star. While Izaac Tu’itupou and Krystian Mapapalangi are also joining the club on training contracts, both have limited NRL experience. The boys give their thoughts on all that. There's also a look at how the NRL's crackdown on accidental head-high tackles might affect the Tigers (as if it hasn't already!). Under the microscope is a look at reports of a five-year, five-million-dollar contract offer on the table for Lachlan Galvin from our club. And there's another Galvin that might be part of the package! Beating the Broncos on the other side of the border. Eddie, Garry, and Nick also preview the match against the Broncos on Saturday night at Suncorp Stadium. Of particular interest for most Wests Tigers fans is the potential impact of youngsters Latu Fainu and Luke Laulilii. And, lastly, Nick tests out his quiz master skills after being volunteered responsibility for Yioti's Quiz. We'll see you on the other side of the Broncos game with hopefully a post-victory edition of the pod, and don't forget to lodge your 'One Word' submissions on the Wests Tigers Podcast Forum.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
