A settlement has been reached between the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors and the County recorder. We talked to him about the agreement and upcoming election.

With the ongoing battle with the County recorder Heap, the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors is chiming in again. We talked to Mark Stewart with the MCBOS.

Arizona Gold and Silver CEO Mike Stark joined Steve Darling from Proactive to discuss encouraging metallurgical test results from the Philadelphia gold-silver project in Mohave County, Arizona, highlighting strong gold recoveries through both agitation and heap leach processing. Stark said agitation leach cyanidation achieved gold recoveries of 91% to 99% using modest grind sizes of 0.40 to 0.136 mm (40–110 mesh). More than 50% of the total gold was recovered within the first 10 days of column leaching, demonstrating rapid extraction characteristics. Heap leach testing also delivered positive results, with 84% gold recovery from bulk material crushed to -6.3 mm using high-pressure grinding rolls (HPGR) over a 177-day leach cycle. Regression analysis indicates recoveries could increase to approximately 86% over 360 days. Silver recoveries ranged from 49% to 72% through agitation leaching, while heap leach processing achieved 37% silver recovery. Testing also showed that HPGR crushing improved gold recovery by 12% compared with conventional crushing methods, while silver recovery improved by approximately 3%. Agglomeration and compaction testing demonstrated that the crushed material is suitable for heap stacking heights of 10 to more than 30 metres with the addition of only 2 to 4 kilograms of cement per tonne, supporting the project's heap leach potential. Based on the results, management believes higher-grade material could be processed through agitation cyanide leaching to maximize gold and silver recovery, while lower-grade ore could be treated economically through HPGR-assisted heap leaching. The metallurgical work was conducted on a 415.5-kilogram bulk sample collected from the current surface operation. Head assays returned 1.929 to 1.988 g/t gold and 2.82 to 3.34 g/t silver, exceeding the original target grade of 1.0 to 1.2 g/t gold. The project is fully funded through a 353 kg gold loan (approximately $45 million) from its largest shareholder, carrying a 39-month term and 10% interest, with repayments beginning at the end of 2026.The operation is designed to process 3,000 tons of ore per day from near-surface, free-digging oxide material, which avoids the need for drilling, blasting, and complex processing. This contributes to relatively low operating costs and strong projected economics. Despite rising diesel prices and a stronger Brazilian real, the company estimates margins of $3,000 per ounce at current gold prices, with first-year production expected to reach 25,000 ounces.Infill drilling across approximately 160 holes has largely confirmed the resource model outlined in the 2025 preliminary feasibility study, with some higher-grade results, including an intercept of 25 metres at 7.5 g/t gold from surface. Early mining grades are expected to exceed life-of-mine averages, further supporting near-term profitability.Beyond initial production, Cabral is advancing a broader district-scale strategy. The company now controls six known deposits, up from three in 2022, and is actively drilling with six rigs to expand its resource base, targeting an updated estimate by the end of 2026. CIA Director Bill Burns' past meetings with Jeffrey Epstein have raised serious concerns about the extent of Epstein's influence over powerful government figures. At the time of their encounters in 2014, Burns was serving as Deputy Secretary of State, while Epstein had already been a registered sex offender for six years following his 2008 conviction. Despite Epstein's criminal record and widely known reputation, Burns reportedly met with him multiple times, including at Epstein's townhouse in Manhattan. The alleged purpose of these meetings was to seek career advice on transitioning to the private sector—an explanation that only deepens the discomfort surrounding such a relationship. For a high-ranking diplomat to consult a convicted sex offender for professional guidance signals either shockingly poor judgment or a normalization of Epstein's continued access to the elite.What makes the situation even more troubling is the lack of transparency from government institutions. The CIA has issued vague assurances that the meetings were harmless and limited, but they have not explained why a senior U.S. official would be turning to Epstein for any form of counsel in the first place. Meanwhile, the White House has refused to comment. These evasions come at a time when public trust in the Epstein investigation is already eroded, and they only reinforce the perception that Epstein's true reach into the halls of power is being deliberately downplayed.
