Golden Hour Radio with Abdi

Months in the making. The crossover event of the decade, and we are only days into 2020! On GOOD KID GOLDEN HOUR RADIO, Carlos and Abdi play new music from The Weeknd, and a true variety with everything from Tame Impala, Harry Styles, Dua Lipa, DaBaby, Young Thug, Travis Scott, Kaytranada, Tinashe, Pop Smoke, Steve Lacy, AND SO MUCH MORE. The two of them also discuss Kanye West's Jesus is King IMAX film, their history together and how these two Gods of Radio met.

On the finale (for now) of GOLDEN HOUR RADIO, Abdi plays Ariana Grande/Miley Cyrus/Lana Del Rey's "Don't Call Me Angel," Camila Cabello's "Liar," a song block from garage-rock band The Growlers, some classic Stone Roses, and much more including regular segments Sad Bitch Hours and BONJOUR (Abdi as always thanks his dear French listeners for their continuous support). It's the best variety of music you will hear! Topics wise, Abdi talks about SAVAGExFENTY, and Jennifer Lopez & Shakira performing at next year's Super Bowl half-time show (which should really just be Shakira solo). Abdi is sad that Golden Hour Radio is ending, but his listeners won't have to wait too long to hear from him, as season two of his podcast the HOLLYWOOD HEIST (with CMRU.ca's own Gabriela Aguilar, host of What Now? with Gaby) is coming soon!

On episode nine of Golden Hour Radio, Abdi dedicates the majority of his episode to indie music by popular demand, including an entire segment devoted to Kevin Parker of Tame Impala dubbed Kevin Parkerville. Abdi also plays new music from FKA Twigs featuring Future, talks about Shawn Mendes & Camila Cabello’s sham romance, talking about how Rihanna is coming for Victoria’s Secrets necks with her September 20th SavageXFenty show, and after a one episode hiatus, BONJOUR is back for all of his French listeners! Abdi apologizes to his French listeners, but he thinks they should be happy regardless.

For episode 8 of GOLDEN HOUR RADIO, Abdi turns episode 8 to EPISODE YE, devoting the episode to a career retrospective of the genius Kanye West! Abdi goes through every album (except Ye because it wasn’t good) and you will learn a lot (including a snippet of Steely Dan Da Gawds)! Abdi also sneaks some new music from Miley Cyrus (which is sensational), Yo Gotti and ironically enough for Episode Ye, Taylor Swift.

On episode seven of Golden Hour Radio, Abdi plays Megan Thee Stallion and Nicki Minaj's "Hot Girl Summer," Coldplay, Imagine Dragons, a Mariah Carey song block in honour of her being a legend, Sky Ferreira (for some Sad Bitch Hours), talks about Jay-Z's deal with the NFL, Harry Styles turning down playing Prince Eric in The Little Mermaid, a BTS segment about their recent hiatus, and of course Abdi salutes his loyal French listeners with his beloved BONJOUR segment

On episode six of Golden Hour Radio, Abdi plays new music from Chance the Rapper (one of the tracks featuring Nicki Minaj, who SHOWS UP Chance on both songs she's featured on his album) and THE GREAT Willow Smith, some real #SadBitchHours music with Angel Olsen, as well as everyone from Tegan and Sara, 5 Seconds of Summer, Kelsey Lu, William Onyeabor, David Bowie, Twenty One Pilots, and MUCH MORE. Topics wise, Abdi talks about why this year's MTV Video Music Award nominations are terrible, talks about Lil Nas X breaking the Billboard record for most weeks at #1 with "Old Town Road," and gives his first-ever Golden Hour Radio MOVIE REVIEW as he reviews Jon Favreau's The Lion King. You thought that was all? Abdi didn't forget about his loyal FRENCH LISTENERS, with another edition of his BONJOUR Segment!

On episode five of Golden Hour Radio, Abdi plays brand-new music from David Guetta and Charli XCX, and talks about the A$AP Rocky situation, and Netflix editing out a scene from 13 Reasons Why. All of that, plus a wide variety of music includuing Foster the People, MGMT, Capital Cities, N.E.R.D., Mark Ronson, Cut Copy, Cage the Elephant, Holy Ghost, Weyes Blood, George Harrison, and finally Abdi introduces a new segment titled BONJOUR for his French listeners.

On episode four of GOLDEN HOUR RADIO, Abdi talks about Disney's decision to continue making live action adaptions of classic Disney movies (in the wake of Halle Bailey being cast as Ariel in The Little Mermaid), who is lying and telling the truth in the Taylor Swift v Scooter Braun saga, the Kim Kardashian Kimono controversy. He also plays new music from Nicki Minaj, Shawn Mendes/Camila Cabello, the Jonas Brothers, and pays a nod to his listeners in France by playing French music. Abdi deeply apologizes for doing an episode last week like he promised, and he hopes you love this edition of GOLDEN HOUR RADIO
