Buckle up for maybe the longest episode thus far. Chatting with Siichaq was such a blast we truly lost track of time and went almost an hour and forty minutes!Fresh off the release of her new album Catcher — a sprawling, melancholic record that still keeps the hooks and songwriting front and center, Siichaq and I talked about her musical influences, how therapy has helped her writing, YouTube video essays, some hot takes, and her adventure following Tame Impala for seven shows across the US.
Episode 050: Get ready to enter a time machine as Six Picks Music Club celebrates its 50th episode by diving deep into five decades of musical evolution! Geoff, Russ, and Dave are breaking all the rules, picking tracks that capture the essence of each era—from Alice Cooper's theatrical nightmares to Tears for Fears' global anthems, Radiohead's existential landscapes, Black Eyed Peas' party-starting funk, Tame Impala's psychedelic journeys, and The Velvet Sundown's sounds of the future. It's a rollercoaster that proves music isn't just about sound—it's about capturing the spirit of an entire generation. And because no milestone episode would be complete without a totally random tangent, the crew somehow manages to weave in a conversation about hospice care and Christopher Columbus. Whether you're a musical historian or just along for the ride, this episode promises to be a wild celebration of fifty episodes and fifty years of incredible music. Step into a high-voltage blend of sound where pounding house, raw edits, and unexpected genre flips keep you on your toes with Floyd on this episode of Lip Biter Sounds. The mix launches with deep melodic energy from Victor Ruiz and Mila Journée, setting a seductive after-dark tone. Things get moodier with Delon's “Extra Nocturno,” then instantly erupt into dancefloor euphoria with GUDFELLA's pulse-pounding “all i wanna do is dance.” Expect left turns that hit hard—like Fantom Freq's gritty Nirvana edit or Daft Punk's iconic “Technologic” reimagined by RIGO. Throw in a fiery remix of Tame Impala's “Let It Happen” and Ozzy Osbourne's (R.I.P) “Crazy Train” with a new rave twist, and you're deep in genre-blurring territory. From big-room tech with Boris Way and Proppa to underground bass from Matroda, Innellea, and Dillon Francis, this mix doesn't just move—it mutates. Whether you're into the hypnotic throb of Toolroom beats or the explosive energy of Odd Mob's remix of Sub Focus, this playlist is a full-spectrum ride. Let it bang, let it groove, let it surprise you. This is not just a podcast—it's a pressure-cooked set designed for dancefloor rebels and headphone explorers alike. ⚡️Like the Show?

New Person, Same Old Podcast! James & Connor are talking about Tame Impala (just one guy!) and their 2015 record Currents! Kevin Parker's self-created album is the result of hundreds of hours of work, thousands of vocal takes, and a lifetime of passion for music. With themes of change and personal growth, this album sets Reality In Motion with electronic hooks and ambient, saturated vibes. We'll talk about the abandoned power plant that inspired the record, impala enrichment activities, and more! The Mixtaper gets wiggly with facts about aural entanglement and a pet-napping bandit. Send us a textBuckle the f*ck up, because The Funky Panther just dropped an episode that smells like incense, ego death, and pure audio chaos. Musician and part-time sweat demon Ben C Jones is back—flexible, funky, and freshly cooked from his daily 105-degree hot yoga cult. Spoiler: his chakras are aligned, his joints are loose, and he might've accidentally joined a tantric death spiral. Enlightenment optional. While Ben's finding nirvana in a puddle of his own BO, Chad escapes Fort Worth and dives straight into Asia's adult playground—Macau and Hong Kong. Between gambling dens, dice games in back-alley bars, and Portuguese bartenders with loose morals, it's a travelogue that sounds more like a deleted scene from The Hangover 4: Oriental Express. Then it gets extra spicy—the gang breaks down Blue Origin's girlboss space cruise, featuring Katy Perry floating around like it's a zero-G makeup ad. Are these pop stars actually astronauts—or just influencers with rocket-fueled privilege? The debate spirals into capitalism, space pollution, and how much they'd personally fork over to escape this flaming meatball of a planet… for eleven goddamn minutes.Meanwhile, Ben teases his new psych-rock masterpiece, dropping May 23rd via Amplify 817. It's like Pink Floyd, Tame Impala, and your weird stoner cousin had a baby and let it record itself in a home studio filled with lava lamps and vintage trauma. Don't sleep on the June 13th album release party at The Post—expect killer vibes, musical therapy, and maybe a few mild hallucinations. The episode ends with nuclear-grade “Bad Takes” that'll piss off astronauts, yogis, and probably your mom. Plus, an “Overrated vs. Underrated” segment that drags Spotify and worships the holy gospel of local music legends.June 13th. The Post. Ben C Jones, Richer Hall, Dave Cave, and Reagan Beard. It's not just a show—it's a sonic exorcism. Igazán izgalmas köröket fut Nóvé Soma, a kétezertízes évek első felében berobbant Middlemist Red frontembere, aki a pszichedelikus rocktól elég hamar eljutott a magyar népzenéig, az elektronikáig és ezek után az sem meglepő, hogy a Doors zenekar munkássága előtt is tisztelgett már. 2025 április elején jelent meg a Mordái legújabb EP-je, az április 22-én kiadott Palo Canto-kislemezen is ő énekel, míg egy évvel korábban Soma ifj. Csoóri Sándorral közös munkáiból mutatott be öt felvételt.Angliában töltött gyerekkorról, szülői háttérről, inspirációkról, logisztikáról, csoportdinamikáról beszélgetünk, mit adott a Mordáinak és neki az év eleji USA-fellépéssorozat, természetesen szóba kerül a Tame Impala, a Muzsikás együttes, tulajdonképpen hányadik Csoóri Sándorral játszik együtt, menne-e népzenei gyűjtőútra vagy éppen mit gondol Damon Albarnról.Műsorvezető: Németh Róbert, Bihari BalázsA Wanted podcast adása az NKA Hangfoglaló program támogatásával készült.

He left a promising junior golf career to chase the rockstar dream, and it came true. Cam Avery has played bass for Tame Impala for the last decade while also producing solo records and playing alongside big-time acts like Arctic Monkeys. Now Avery is back playing competitive golf and documenting his journey along the way. He joins Mind Game to discuss the grind of the music business, not being able to read sheet music, the Venn diagram of life and golf, and whether or not he'd still WD from that Australian amateur event to go see Oasis. The first time I saw a portrait by Shervin Lainez, I felt like I was hearing the artist's music through a photograph. There's an intimacy in the image, a quiet buzz that goes deeper than just the artist's face—it captures an essence. His work has graced the pages of Rolling Stone, The New York Times, and countless album covers, shaping the way we see some of the most defining voices in modern music. If you've ever admired a striking image of Adele, Billie Eilish, St. Vincent, Tame Impala, or Orville Peck, chances are you've seen Shervin's work. But what makes his photography so compelling isn't just the technical execution—it's his philosophy. Shervin doesn't take pictures; he builds connections. He listens to an artist's music, immerses himself in their world, and lets that inform the way he shoots. His style is adaptable—what he calls chameleon-like—but always true to the artist in front of his lens. As he describes in this conversation, his long years in the game have taught him that the real magic of photography isn't about the perfect lighting setup or the ideal location. It's about trust, energy, and presence. If he walks into a shoot anxious or distracted, the artist will mirror that. If he brings ease, they'll meet him there.I met Shervin back in 2013 or so. I had a show at the Rockwood in NYC and some artist I respect had their photos done by this cool guy in the city. I wasn't sure I could get him, but we figured out a place and in an hour I had a cache of photos I used for literal years. I mean, in addition to giving me something I could use and be proud of, he gave this awkward introvert a truly great experience. We talk about that experience and my perceptions of it. And, true story: after we taped this episode he shot a new round of photos for me, one of which is the main image I'm using across all my socials. A nice full circle moment. In this conversation, Shervin opens up about his relentless pursuit of his craft—the years he spent shooting for free, honing his skills by trial and error, refusing formal education, and pushing forward despite uncertainty. He breaks down the difference between ambition and expectation, explaining how wanting to grow as an artist is healthy, but expecting instant success can be toxic. His journey is a testament to the idea that success isn't about demanding the next big opportunity—it's about doing great work until the right people take notice. We also talk about mentorship, creative obsession, and the art of saying yes before you feel ready. Shervin shares why he never assisted another photographer, his feeling on “Can I pick your brain?” emails, and why his only real advice to young creatives is "just do it—over and over again". If you've ever struggled with self-doubt, comparison, or the pressure to succeed on someone else's timeline, this episode is for you.If you get something out of The Morse Code Podcast, please follow us on Apple Pods or Spotify or write a 5 star review or follow us on instagram or Tiktok or all of these things. The famed electro house duo open up about their 2024 album and the challenges of touring live. In the mid-'00s, songs like "D.A.N.C.E." and "We Are Your Friends" emerged as stadium-sized anthems during a new wave of electro house that weaved in elements of rock and disco. The architects behind these hits were Parisian duo Justice, AKA Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay. Together with their Ed Banger contemporaries, they rode a craze that took over airwaves and dance floors, alongside peers like label founder Busy P and the late DJ Mehdi. Their first album, Cross, quickly became a classic, helping to establish Ed Banger as the flagbearer for French electro. Justice went on to tour a dynamic live show with spectacular lights and visuals, and later released two more albums before taking an eight-year hiatus and largely disappearing from the spotlight. Last year, Augé and de Rosnay returned with their fourth studio album, Hyperdrama, which features a GRAMMY-winning collaboration with Tame Impala. Referencing indie rock and early '90s hardcore techno, the LP sparked a revived interest in the duo—if you watched last year's Olympics in Paris, 18 minutes of their music featured in the closing ceremony. In this RA Exchange, Augé and de Rosnay talk to Resident Advisor's editor, Gabriel Szatan, about being back on the road and balancing touring with family life, a rhythm that hasn't felt natural to them after so much time off. They open up about dealing with technical issues and making mistakes when performing, despite having played countless iterations of their live shows. The conversation also touches on their earliest influences—like gaming culture and bands including the White Stripes, and how they've cultivated such a dedicated international fanbase. This episode was recorded over the course of multiple backstage conversations. Listen to the episode in full. -Chloe Lula
