Hi! My name is Terry J. Aman, marking my 109th episode of VideoFuzzy titled "Luther, Earnest and The Doctor," reporting the progress I've made in cataloging thousands of VHS transfers and digital recordings, and as of this coming month, June of 2026, I'm marking nine years of VideoFuzzy! [2:20] I celebrate that milestone in part with Part 2 of my conversation with musician, media critic and longtime friend Mikey Heinrich from Minneapolis. Part 1 posted as part of sister podcast effort VideoFuzzy the Soundtrack "Ep. 17: Long Way Down" at https://bit.ly/3MJkPkK In part 2, we chatted primarily about "Knives Out 3: Wake Up, Dead Man" and "Doctor Who." [IG] Mikey Heinrich can be found at his YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@MikeyHeinrich and blogs Doux Reviews: https://www.douxreviews.com/ and 42nd Vizsla: https://the42ndvizsla.blogspot.com/ [31:06] My Fuzzy Feature talked in some detail about the series premiere of BBC's "Luther," [IG] starring Idris Elba in the title role, Detective Inspector John Luther. CONTENT WARNING: Some discussion of animal cruelty was critical to the investigation and therefore unavoidable. I talked about the child abduction case he took on at the top of the episode, and the parents of astrophysicist Alice Morgan, played by Ruth Wilson. They were found shot dead in their home along with the family's dog. Luther's investigation loops in his supervisor, DSU Rose Teller, and his new partner, DS Justin Ripley, and coincides with developments in his separation from Zoe, his wife, played by Indira Varma, namely her lover Mark North, played by Paul McGann. [1:01:30] In Cross Connections, I trace connections for Idris Elba and Ruth Wilson through my media collection. I identify Stephen Root, Jon Curry and Ben Schwartz as Golden Threads. Also Colin Salmon, David Allan Grier, Robert Englund, Ken Jenkins, Rob Morrow, Maura Tierney, Tzi Ma, Patrick Fischler, Todd Stashwick, Caterina Scorsone, Frances Conroy, Diane Farr and Christian Clementsen. Fond Reflection to Eric Dane and his many years on "Grey's Anatomy." [1:14:14] In my Classic Collection [VHS-to-DVD transfers], I cataloged discs 2001 through 2025. Comments on "Grey's Anatomy," Chelsea Handler's appearance as host of the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards and comments at the recent roast of Kevin Hart on Netflix. Also, "The Simpsons," [IG] "Glee," [IG] "Mike & Molly," "Undercovers," "Castle," "Rubicon," "The Office" and "Community." [1:29:38] In my Current Collection [direct to digital], I archived the National Theatre presentation of Oscar Wilde's "The Importance of Being Earnest" [IG] starring Ncuti Gatwa, Hugh Skinner, Sharon D. Clark, Ronke Adoluejo, Eliza Scanlen and Amanda Lawrence. [1:31:28] In Book Reports, I chat about Charlotte Brontë's "Jane Eyre," Emily Brontë's "Wuthering Heights," Daphne du Maurier's "Rebecca" and Margot Douaihy's "Scorched Grace," all of which I can trace as recommendations at one time or another by the "All About Agatha" podcast. pWotD Episode 3281: Michael Jackson Welcome to popular Wiki of the Day, spotlighting Wikipedia's most visited pages, giving you a peek into what the world is curious about today. With 339,354 views on Sunday, 26 April 2026 our article of the day is Michael Jackson.Michael Joseph Jackson (August 29, 1958 – June 25, 2009) was an American singer, songwriter, dancer, and philanthropist. Dubbed the "King of Pop", he is widely regarded as one of the most culturally significant figures of the 20th century. Over a four-decade career, his musical achievements broke American racial barriers and made him a dominant figure worldwide. Through his songs, concerts, and fashion, he proliferated visual performance for artists in popular music, popularizing street dance moves such as the moonwalk, the robot, and the anti-gravity lean. Jackson is often deemed the greatest entertainer of all time. The eighth child of the Jackson family, Jackson made his public debut at age six as the lead singer of the Jackson 5, one of Motown's most successful acts. He rose to solo stardom with the album Off the Wall (1979) and achieved unprecedented global success with Thriller (1982), the best-selling album in history. Its short film-style music videos for "Thriller", "Beat It", and "Billie Jean" redefined the medium as an art form. Jackson followed it with Bad (1987), the first album to produce five US Billboard Hot 100 number-one singles: "I Just Can't Stop Loving You", "Bad", "The Way You Make Me Feel", "Man in the Mirror", and "Dirty Diana". His albums Dangerous (1991) and HIStory (1995) spawned the respective US number-one singles "Black or White" and "You Are Not Alone"; the latter was the first song to debut atop the Hot 100. Jackson's final album, Invincible (2001), is the most expensive ever made. From the mid-1980s, Jackson came under public scrutiny due to changes in his appearance, relationships, behavior, and lifestyle. He was accused of sexually abusing a 13-year-old boy in 1993. The case was settled out of court during 1994, and Jackson was not indicted due to lack of evidence. In 2005, Jackson was tried and acquitted of child sexual abuse and other charges. During 2009, while preparing for This Is It, a series of comeback concerts, he died from an overdose of propofol administered by his personal physician Conrad Murray, who was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in 2011. Jackson's death triggered global reactions, creating unprecedented surges of Internet traffic and a spike in his music sales. His televised memorial service, held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, is estimated to have been viewed by more than 2.5 billion people.Jackson is one of the best-selling music artists of all time, with estimated sales of over 500 million records as a solo artist. He is also—along with Paul McCartney and Phil Collins—one of three recording artists to have sold over 100 million records both as solo artists and separately as principal members of a band. He holds a joint-record for a male solo artist with 13 Billboard Hot 100 number-one singles and is the only artist to have a top-ten single in six decades. One of the most-awarded music artists in history, Jackson received 13 Grammy Awards, the Grammy Legend Award, and the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award; 26 American Music Awards; 12 World Music Awards; 8 MTV Video Music Awards; 6 Brit Awards; and 3 presidential honors. He was inducted into numerous halls of fame, including the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice, the Songwriters Hall of Fame, and the Dance Hall of Fame. Having donated an estimated $500 million, Jackson is credited with setting a standard for celebrity charity. In 2024, half of his music catalogue was sold to Sony for $600 million, the largest music acquisition for a single artist. This recording reflects the Wikipedia text as of 02:36 UTC on Monday, 27 April 2026.For the full current version of the article, see Michael Jackson on Wikipedia. This podcast uses content from Wikipedia under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License.Visit our archives at wikioftheday.com and subscribe to stay updated on new episodes.Follow us on Bluesky at @wikioftheday.com.Also check out Curmudgeon's Corner, a current events podcast.Until next time, I'm neural Jasmine.

Segment 4: Director Sofia Coppola has shelved a planned 2026 film project with long-time collaborator Kirsten Dunst, stating the project felt “too SAD” given the current “dark times”. This is because of Kelly’s difficult time dealing with the loss of her father, Ozzy Osbourne, who died last July. The breakup comes 7 months after Sid proposed to Kelly at Ozzy’s final concert with Black Sabbath last summer. But did her EMACIATED look also contribute? Segment 12: Nicki Minaj is being sued for failing to pay a BIG bill. 24/7 Productions is suing Nicki for refusing to pay them $275,000 for the company's services to produce two concerts for Nicki. Segment 13: “REACHER” star Alan Ritchson was caught on video beating up his neighbor, Ronnie Taylor. The problem started when Ritchson loudly rode his motorcycle through their quiet Tennessee neighborhood at a high speed. His father briefly showed up over the course of a few weeks and taught him how to play guitar before disappearing again. Eight years ago, he made a tape of a song in a room a friend let him stay in, while he was under house arrest. He was dead poor and only had his music to guide him forward. He is now a well-known musician and actor on the hit series “Euphoria.” A song from that dark period of his life has taken off which we LOVE. Here's Dominic Fike with the Song of the Week, “Babydoll.” That was Dominic Fike with the Song of the Week, “Babydoll.” The post LA SPINZ – March 30 2026 appeared first on LA Spinz.
Listeners, the latest headlines on Sean Combs, known as Puff Daddy or Diddy, center on his ongoing legal fallout and echoes in the hip-hop world. Forbes reports that Usher publicly defended Diddy's legacy in a recent interview, despite Combs' conviction last year on prostitution charges, praising his influence while navigating the controversies.Meanwhile, a high-profile lawsuit tying Jay-Z to Diddy allegations has dominated discussions. Onetwoonetwo details how a 2024 civil suit accused both of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl at a 2000 MTV Video Music Awards afterparty. The plaintiff dismissed it with prejudice in February 2025, but Jay-Z fired back with a defamation suit against her and attorney Tony Buzbee, calling it an extortion plot. As of March 2026, the Alabama case remains ongoing, with Jay-Z telling GQ this year's his era of "all offense" after defending against the claims that nearly broke him. He emphasized his street code—no women, no kids—vowing never to settle what he deems fabricated.Paste Magazine notes the scandal's shadow lingers, with Jay-Z's rare GQ sit-down framing 2026 comebacks like headlining Roots Picnic amid Diddy's tarnished name. No new charges against Combs have surfaced this week, but the Buzbee saga keeps his name in courts and headlines.Thank you for tuning in, listeners. Come back next week for more. Snart kommer musikkritikernas älskling behöva försvara den musik som är hennes liv. fWotD Episode 3228: Mean (song) Welcome to featured Wiki of the Day, your daily dose of knowledge from Wikipedia's finest articles. The featured article for Saturday, 7 March 2026, is Mean (song)."Mean" is a song written and recorded by the American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift for her third studio album, Speak Now (2010). Big Machine Records released it to country radio in the United States as the album's third single on March 7, 2011. Produced by Swift and Nathan Chapman, "Mean" is a six-string banjo-led country, country pop, and bluegrass track that incorporates fiddles, mandolins, hand claps, and multitracked vocals. In the lyrics, Swift addresses her detractors, recognizes her shortcomings, and strives to overcome the criticism and achieve success. Some music critics deemed "Mean" an anti-bullying anthem and praised the production as airy and catchy, while others considered the narrative ineffective. Several media publications have retrospectively listed it as one of the best country songs. "Mean" won Best Country Song and Best Country Solo Performance at the 2012 Grammy Awards, and also received other industry awards and nominations. The track reached the national charts of Australia, Canada, and the United States, peaking at number two on the country music charts in the latter two countries. It received certifications in Australia, Brazil, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The music video for "Mean" was directed by Declan Whitebloom, who wrote its treatment with Swift. Featuring themes of self-empowerment and anti-bullying, the video received a mixed response from critics, who generally criticized its viewpoint on bullying as stereotypical and deemed its concept confusing. The video received nominations at the MTV Video Music Awards, the Academy of Country Music Awards, and the Country Music Association Awards. Swift included "Mean" in the set lists of the Speak Now World Tour (2011–2012) and the Red Tour (2013–2014), and performed it on some dates of her later tours.Following a 2019 dispute regarding the ownership of her back catalog, Swift re-recorded the song as "Mean (Taylor's Version)" for her third re-recorded album, Speak Now (Taylor's Version) (2023). The track peaked at number 33 on the Billboard Global 200 and reached the national charts of Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore, and the United States. This recording reflects the Wikipedia text as of 01:00 UTC on Saturday, 7 March 2026.For the full current version of the article, see Mean (song) on Wikipedia. This podcast uses content from Wikipedia under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License.Visit our archives at wikioftheday.com and subscribe to stay updated on new episodes.Follow us on Bluesky at @wikioftheday.com.Also check out Curmudgeon's Corner, a current events podcast.Until next time, I'm standard Aditi.

Myra Ellen Amos – better known as Tori Amos – is a singular voice in American popular music. While she has been nominated for such major accolades as Grammys and MTV Video Music Awards, she never received significant mainstream radio play in America. Still, her prodigious musical skills and captivating, poetry-rich lyrics confronting topics like religion, misogyny, and sexual assault made her an alt-pop icon who enjoyed considerable success in the 1990s and beyond. Now, more than 30 years into her musical career, and on the eve of the release of 18th studio album, In Times of Dragons, the Great Pop Culture Debate wants to look back and attempt to name the Best Tori Amos Song.Songs discussed: “Silent All These Years,” “Taxi Ride,” “God,” “Winter,” “Spark,” “China,” “Little Earthquakes,” “Crucify,” “Cornflake Girl,” “Jackie's Strength,” “Tear in Your Hand,” “Pretty Good Year,” “Raspberry Swirl,” “Hey, Jupiter,” “A Sorta Fairytale,” “Precious Things”Join host Eric Rezsnyak, Patreon sponsor Bob Erlenback, and GPCD panelists Jim Czadzeck and Kate Racculia as they discuss and debate 16 of their favorite songs by Tori Amos. For the warm-up to this episode, in which we discuss additional Tori Amos songs that didn't make the bracket, become a Patreon supporter of the podcast today. Jay-Z has been named in a civil lawsuit alleging that he and Sean "Diddy" Combs raped a 13-year-old girl in 2000 after an MTV Video Music Awards after-party. The accuser, identified as Jane Doe, claims she was given a drink that made her feel disoriented before being assaulted by both men. Jay-Z has vehemently denied the allegations, describing them as a "blackmail attempt" and expressing concern over the impact on his family. In response to the lawsuit, Jay-Z's legal team has filed a motion to dismiss the case, arguing that the claims are baseless and part of a calculated extortion campaign. They have also requested that the accuser be publicly identified, citing the harm to Jay-Z's reputation. Additionally, Jay-Z's lawyers have sought to distance him from Combs, emphasizing that there is no close association between the two artists.(commercial at 13:08)to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:

This week on Grumpy Old Geeks, we're diving headfirst into the digital dumpster fire, starting with follow-up that will make you wonder if the rich are finally getting their comeuppance. It seems Tesla's market share is plummeting, and Elon Musk has been unceremoniously knocked off as the world's wealthiest person. Meanwhile, OpenAI and Microsoft are flirting with new partnership terms, and OpenAI is also reportedly cozying up with Oracle for a cloud computing deal. Are they figuring it all out or just rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic? You decide. In the news, it's a feast of AI-induced chaos. Anthropic attempted to settle a copyright lawsuit for $1.5 billion, but a judge rejected it. Apple faces scrutiny for allegedly using pirated books to train AI (because who needs original ideas when you can just steal them?), and everyone from Reddit to Yahoo is rushing to get paid for their data being scraped by AI. Google even admits that the open web is struggling, while pushing ads into AI-generated answers and trying to convince us that DOGE never existed. Meanwhile, millions of YouTube videos have been copied by AI companies—because why create when you can just steal? Not to mention, The Boring Company reportedly stopped tunneling after a "crushing injury" (ironic, huh?), Zuckerberg and Palmer Luckey are teaming up again like a disastrous boy band for military-grade goggles, and Meta whistleblowers are exposing child safety issues. Plus, a hot mic caught Zuck groveling to Trump—the cringe is real. And if that wasn't enough, it turns out AI usage is actually declining at big companies, and programmers using AI are creating more security risks than a screen door on a submarine. It's almost like we saw this coming. For your Media Candy fix, get ready for a dose of existential dread. The MTV Video Music Awards are still happening in 2025, with a median viewer age of 56—because nothing screams "youth culture" like osteoporosis. We'll wonder if Wednesday (aka Charlie Sheen) is still winning and discuss Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. Amazon Music is launching AI-powered playlists (because who needs a human DJ when you can have an algorithm that thinks it knows your soul?), and Deezer claims 28% of all new music is AI-generated. Taika Waititi is developing a "potentially disastrous" Fyre Fest musical (we're excited!), Foundation is renewed for season 4, and the HBO Max CEO thinks it's "way underpriced"—bless his heart. Plus, more Highlander reboot news that will probably disappoint, and a look at The Missi & Brooke Show and The Traitors Ireland. Finally, in Apps & Doodads, bad news for AirPods Live Translation in the EU, Evernote and WeTransfer's owner is buying Vimeo, and you need this pettable Poké Ball Tamagotchi-style toy. In The Dark Side with Dave, we'll discuss The Princess Bride, how tariffs are ruining hobbies, and who wants "slop for their ears." This episode shows that some things never change, and most things are just getting worse. Steven and Ian begin with a quick conversation about living in a time of political violence and horrific videos popping up freely on social media feeds (0:00). From there, they do a hard pivot to a conversation about the recent MTV Video Music Awards (which continue to exist for some reason) and the rapid ascent of the pop-rock singer Sombr, whose recent LP I Barely Know Her dropped last month (5:45).After that, they do a "yay or nay" segment on freak folk (26:13). They also find time to finally dip into the mailbag, where they answer emails about the best "day" bands (32:02) and whether it's okay to wear a band T-shirt to that band's concert (39:33).In Recommendation Corner, Ian talks about emo band Algernon Cadwallader and Steven goes for the Michigan rock outfit Liquid Mike (45:30).New episodes of Indiecast drop every Friday. Howard Stern's hack radio prank, the MTV VMA's, Charlie Steen is now just a boring author, Britney Spears worst dance video, and artist John Hinckley Jr. The Detroit Lions loss has everybody bummed. The Buffalo Bills somehow defeated the Baltimore Ravens after being down 15 points in the 4th quarter. Another dildo hit an NFL field yesterday. The NFL punishes an unruly fan. Howard 100: Howard Stern opened with a wacky Andy Cohen bit to start his comeback. Drew and BranDon made the Stern montage! Stern totally loves Alex Cooper now. Howard is not a fan of podcasts or Ari Shaffir. The MTV Video Music Awards went down last night. Ozzy Osbourne was honored. GMA can't get enough of Charlie Sheen. He totally nailed Corey Haim. We miss the exciting Charlie Sheen, not the new boring author. Britney Spears is dancing in public bathrooms. Her house is covered in multiple dog turds. Unknown Number on Netflix remains must-watch. Brother Wease calls it quits at 78. Turks and Caicos has a major murder problem. Drew was once groomed in Jamaica. Drew is hit by more AI slop. The Phillies Karen is still big news on GMA. Elite University students are heading south. John Hinckley Jr. has a new painting to purchase. The apple didn't fall far from the tree, and Nika shone from a young age. A national and international champion herself, by the time she was a teenager, she coached and choreographed dancers from her family's studio, Bolero, to new heights and world titles. Meanwhile, she built her professional resume and impressive reputation across Europe and the world. Soon enough, Nika moved to Los Angeles, California to further pursue her dreams. It was not long before she had worked with the likes of Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, Justin Bieber, and appeared on mainstream televised award shows such as the MTV Video Music Awards, the Latin Grammys, X-Factor, and more. All the while, Nika continued to fulfill her passion for education, teaching often sold out classes to dancers at Millennium Dance Complex in Los Angeles, and touring the country and world teaching master classes, both individually, and with elite dance convention programs. She is currently on faculty at Jump dance convention. Nika's choreography can be seen on prime time television shows such as Fox TV's So You Think You Can Dance and The Masked Singer, CBS's Come Dance With Me, and more, and in both live and virtual arenas across the world - to name only two of many, Nika choreographed for Taiwanese “Queen of C-Pop” Jolin Cai's Ugly Beauty World Tour in 2019 and J. Balvin's Live TikTok Concert Performance in 2021. In 2018, Nika was a choreographer for Britney Spears' Las Vegas Residency “Domination”, a full circle moment following Nika's portrayal of the megastar during the 2011 VMA Vanguard Britney Spears Tribute Performance. Notably, not only has Nika choreographed for pop culture, music, and dance legend Paula Abdul, but she has been her creative right-hand-woman for six years. Her work on Paula's “Forever Your Girl” Las Vegas Residency in 2019, and her outstanding performance at the Billboard Music Awards in 2019. Their collaborative power continues to flourish throughout current projects. Throughout it all, Nika deeply understands and intently spreads the value of wellness. Now a certified life coach, Nika recently and successfully launched “Shaped By Nika” - a professional-level dance intensive marked by an emphasis on how the mind, body, and spirit can work together towards one's dreams. "Seinfeld": There's a lot to offend modern sensibilities, but someone specifically mentioned the episode where Jerry was allegedly assaulted by his dentist while he was under, and it was played for laughs. 2. "Doogie Howser, M.D.": Quote, "The first episode has an adult woman pretending to seduce him . . . The second episode is about an adult woman trying to get pregnant by him."3. "Will & Grace": Quote, "I could never get through one episode without feeling that my queerness was being used as a punchline . . . being gay was either silly, or you were doomed to be alone and sad."4. "Friends": Quote, "Fat jokes, gay jokes, everyone in New York is white inexplicably, Ross sleeps with a student, sleeps with his school librarian in high school, tries to kiss his cousin, violates Rachel's boundaries . . . etc." Another brought up the transphobic stuff involving Chandler's parents.5. "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air": This person REALLY went off on Uncle Phil. Quote, "Will was a teenager dating grown women every other episode, and Phil and Vivian just let it happen. "Phil claimed to be pro-Black but voted for Reagan twice, was ashamed of his background as a pig farmer, and detested 'lowly' and working-class Black people."He blamed Will for everything that went wrong, even if he had nothing to do with it. And he was sexist and controlling AF, trying to forbid a 25-year-old Hilary from posing for Playboy or Ashley from doing anything."6. "Mrs. Doubtfire": "Between the transphobia and the part where he makes a pact with the older two kids to keep it a secret from their mom, it hasn't aged well."AND THAT IS YOUR CRAP ON CELEBRITIES!See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
The first official "Song of Summer" award was given to One Direction in 2013 for... well... "Best Song Ever." It's been more than a decade since that inaugural MTV Video Music Award. But has the way we consume music evolved so much that a "song of summer" is a relic of the not-so-distant past? How can we measure what makes a good summer song?We convene the 1A Record Club to get into it.Want to support 1A? Give to your local public radio station and subscribe to this podcast.
